Power/Sync port is broke!

I have an O2 XDAII that I'm using in the US with T-Mobile... and now the sync/power port at the bottom is hosed... it won't connect to either power or for data sync unless you hold the cable at a specific angle. This is not a problem with the connector since I have 1 cradle and 2 difference sync cables and its broke with all.
This sucks
I bought the XDAII off Ebay from another user less than a year ago (I don't know when the original purchase from O2 was)... can anyone tell me if there is a warranty, is it transferable and where/who I call to see if I can get this fixed.
Otherwise, anyone have any clues about how to fix it myself and/or where to get parts.

screen type

hello, does any body know if there is a way of telling what type of lcd screen the xda2 and xda2i have without opening the phone? i have purchased a phone with a good screen bad broken connector but the screen connector is different to the two broken xda2 xda2i that i already have. i am thinking of trying to find a xda2 with a broken screen but i need the one with the ribbon type connector not the plug in type. does any body know? or does any body have a xda2 with the ribbon type connector that has a broken screen they want to sell me? all i need is the board nothing else, someone may have one lying around as i have two boards but of the plug in type connector.
thanks very much
fatblokes.
screen
also sorry to be a pain, does anybody know if the screen i have with a ribbon connector will fit in another phone or pda?
thanks.

XDA II , XDA IIi screens
Hi the XDA II uses a Sony LCD Module P/N ACX502AKN-7. this is hard to find right now. I do not know of any availible
The XDA IIi and MDA IIi use a TD part. I have these in stock.
BTW: watch out for Chinese resellers from SHENZHEN China via hotmail accounts. They mostly scams, require payment to a Hong Kong personal accounts, and there is no recourse, warrantee, or reputation.

Where to find right replacement Mini-B Usb?

Hi,
My mini-B usb female connector (for charging and usb connectivity etc) is broken...
I need to find a replacement,
but I don't know what model it's exactly..
I don't what to end up ordering something I can't use :]
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
What is the Make/Model of your phone. Either you can send it to the original manufacturer/vendor if still under warranty or you can order from ebay.First know the maker and model No # of your phone like T-mobile,cingular,i-mate or At&tt etc and model like T-mobile MDA,vario, etc etc,ok
Cheers !
I have mine from www.techcenter.fr
It's an HTC Wizard, Wiza200. (Qtek in fact)
Looking for a replacement USB port for your Apache or Wizard?
Go to:
http://www.mouser.com/catalog/629/979.pdf
You're looking for "D" in the pic's (Mouser Stock No. 538-67503-1020)
I have purchased them, they fit perfectly!
Good luck

My USB connector is broken as well. Have you replaced one yourself? I want to know how hard it would be to do, because I'm thinking of ordering the part and attempting it.
what about ppc techs. they repair and sell that part.
I've done it a bunch of times...it definitely takes a few trys before u get it right...if ur familiar w/ soldering then it should be fairly easy, but if not...it might be worth paying some one to do it for u...if the pads are ripped from the motherboard then they have to be retraced...that is even harder...then it is worth paying to have it fixed for sure...otherwise, there is always the upgrade
upgrade? i wish. bought mine off the streets. thanks

I knew I'd be able to get this part from DigiKey/Mouser, but I was just never sure which was the right one so I never bothered.
Thanks!

is the flex cable from Cingular 8125 & T-mobile MDA are the same

Please kindly some one can tell me if this both PDA cellphone has the same flex cable because I have a MDA that has a white screen and I need to change the flex cable, I want to know if AT&T (CINGULAR) 8125 flex cable is compatible for it because I cannot find a MDA flex cable available. thank you all
Well,as all the wizard devices are manufactured by 'HTC' for all the vendors, with similar features, only cases are and shapes are different,I'm sure it might be the same, there's no harm in trying.
A thread for...
Wizard parts shop!!!! jejeje
Yep are the same... post right here...

Ok, I just got it yesterday and installed it, and it works but the problem is that the button are not correspond as same as the MDA( I got the 8125 flex cable) the screen works fine but there are missing holes on the buttom keypad flex and it's not alligned at all. So means they are not the same in terms of the keypad alignment. Now I'm stock with this flex cable and costed me $25. any one want to but for $20 shipped( continental U.S.A) 45 states
So this is only will work for Cingular 8125 or AT&T 8125 or dopod 818.
FOR SALE $20 shipped it's working. Any one interested let me know post your email add here. Because I cannot return it back anymore. thank you
Again?!

USB connector broken..

Hi all,
my Athena fell down while charging (kiddies.....) - now it seems to me that the connector is broken somehow. I can't chrage the device anymore and don't get contact to my PC anymore.
Warranty exchange isn't possible due to customized ROM. What can I do ?
Dieter
PPC Techs repaired my HTC Universal when the USB connector broke, give them a try:

Thanks galt,
but seems to me a little bit far away.....
Would prefere a source to buy spares and do it by myself or have a repair service in Germany or even Europe...
Dieter
Sorry, I forgot to check your location... HTC might have a repair center in Europe...

i don't know how it works with "The Phone warehouse" but here in the uk their parent company Carphone Warehouse have usually a flat fee for repairs, maybe ask The Phone Warehouse what they might charge ?
I think you can open and try to solder usb pin on your own.
its should not be that difficult task.
I have done this with my Motoming
Hello,
have already opened the device. Sadly it's not only a standard USB connector but a special HTC connector with about 10 connections...it's nearly impossible to re-solder
Dieter
But I'll ask phone warehouse in UK.

As a temp setup, why not get a docking base. they normally have a battery charging on them too. Keep you going until you find a repairer. they come up on ebay
Jay
