HSBC Internet banking - XPERIA X1 General

Hi Guys I have a problem accessing hsbc internet banking website in the UK...any tips?
This is on stock 9.5 x1 opera

try changing your useragent platform or even easier use skyfire.

Online banking on skyfire? that's a no no.

yeh i agree, i dont really want sensitive data to be passed through 3rd party servers like that...
And regarding PIE, i thought i t was out of the question anyway coz of the lack of JavaScript ... can the useragent platofrm be changed for opera too?
i like the stock opera 9.5, it displays most of the sites i visit well enough and didnt really want to change browser...
So basically I am asking for Opera-specific info to get hsbc banking working..

[Q] How to force Browser to load Full Website

So I'm new to the Samsung Vibrant... and I notice that there is no option in the Web Browser to select mobile websites or Desktop.... is there any way to force the browser to load the Desktop webpage instead of the WAP or mobile...
thanks
no body?
You can try downloading skyfire browser. I believe that has the ability to toggle desktop/mobile.
yea but in other 2.1 devices the option is there in the stock browser.... anyway to add that option...? I do not like third party browsers
I am also curious about this. Is there a way maybe to replace the browser with the one from CM-5.0.8?

It is not in our stock browser, so the only solution would be to add a 3rd party browser. You could always pull a browser from CM5 and push it to your phone.
I bealive there's an addon on dolfin browser

and how to do it? I tried and did not work
any other way... I do not like skyfire or dolphin... it should be a way

Trying to decide if this is a dealbreaker with my new Tab

Can only access mobile versions on many major sites... regardless if you use browsers that have desktop settings!
WTF SAMSUNG..... WHY DO YOU THINK WE OPTED FOR A BIGGER SCREEN???? THIS IS ONE MAJOR REASON. HELLO?
Man.. unreal.
Wondering if rooting in some way could enable circumventing this problem.
Actually might take it back for this.
Odd. using Dolphin HD i am able to change the user agent of the browser and browse either mobile or full version of the site.
Sometime after you change the user agent you need to clear your cookies and restart the browser. Have you tried this?
Have U tried nytimes, cnn, msnbc, nfl(. Com) engadget,....

I just got it working like the post said above I clear cache, data, history in both stock browser and dolphin. Then opened dolphin and hit menu>settings>under dolphin setting select User Agent and select desktop. After doing that I was able to go to ESPN and CNN and it was finally not in mobile view.

Question about Opera Browser

I love Opera, but there's one big issue that I have with it. I'm a big sports junkie and I go to ESPN.com dozens of times daily, and they recently re-designed their mobile site like 6 months ago or so. Anyways, I love the re-design and is much more useful and quicker to get the info I want/need. The problem with Opera is that it still goes to ESPN's OLD mobile site which I didn't really like. Its been over 6 months now since the re-design and other 3rd party browsers access the new one. But why can't Opera go to it? And why does it use the old one? Anyways, anything would be of great help!
Same goes for the google page and facebook. I love using opera mobile browser and also am heavy google user but the page is all torn down in opera mobile. I have tried few solutions like changing the custom user agent as suggested by another user but with no use. Though it gave me the google mobile version yet it was all messed up.

tnx ill try that one too
I just use Chrome, and am rarely bothered by ads. There is one notable exception to that... XDA! The ads on here load really slowly and make it a pretty unpleasant browsing experience on my phone (keep hitting the wrong links because of delayed loading of ads causing the page to reposition itself at inopportune moments).
I use Firefox with adblock +. Works fine.
Yes...XDA is a horrid experience with ads. Though has anyone tried the updated built in browser? Apparently it also has a built in ad blocker.

I am going to give it a go, as the update has given it a cleaner, lighter look and added full-screen mode. No status bar when browsing, so you can enjoy all of our beautiful big 5.5" screen! Hopefully the ad blocker is useful and they have made it less of a battery hog!
Update on the ASUS browser - it seems that it has a pop-up blocker built-in, but it doesn't do anything about the in-page ads such as those on this site.

Websites loading in Russian

Hi. I have an SM-G950FD from UAE. It is working alright, and after putting in my Spanish SIM card I guess it adjusted properly since the ROM seems to be the Spanish one (screenshot with the SW info). Even Samsung Pay works correctly.
Now the only thing weird that is happening to me is that when I browse some websites like eBay, Paypal, Samsung website for managing the phone, they load in Russian. What surprises me is that should these websites show some foreign version, I guess it should be the UAE version not Russian. If I browse one of these websites that shows you your IP it's showing a Spanish IP.
Any ideas what is happening and how could I fix this? Thanks.
Is this an issue only with one browser?
Test the issue an try other browsers like G Chrome or Firefox to see if they load in Russian as well (they shouldn't).
All, check your browser's settings for any preferred language.

Thanks for your response. Now that you mention it: no, it only happens when browsing websites within other apps. I believe this web-browsing is done through Chromium. If I use Chrome or Firefox, it loads the correct versions of the websites.

Well, then it might of some specs, check your in-app settings, or your google play default country/language.

I haven't been able to find any kind of configuration set to Russian. Since this has happened to me in more than just one app, I guess this issue relates to Chromium, but I haven't find how to configure it.
If you can, do a factory reset and see if the problem persists.
Don't forget to backup your data and files before doing the reset

No luck with that either I guess that unless I flash another ROM I won't be able to get rid of this.
