Here's GMM 3.0.1.4, released a few days ago, figured I'd post it for those of you who have OCD about using the most recent build of anything and for you chefs also. Can't say I noticed anything different so I had to track down the release notes (pasted below).

Windows Mobile devices
Major
Background location updates: Google Latitude background location updating has been fixed and allows you to continue updating your location automatically in the background even when Maps for mobile is closed.
To enable this, choose to exit Maps from its main menu and when prompted, select 'Yes' to continue background location updates.
When in background location update mode, Latitude will default to cell ID (cell tower) location detection to preserve battery life. WiFi or GPS detection will not be available in background mode.
Note: you may receive a limited number of installation reminders.
Auto-restart location updates: If you turn off your phone or it ran out of battery with automatic Latitude location updates enabled either in the background (see above) or with Maps left open, Latitude will respect this choice and automatically restart location updates in background mode when you next turn on your phone.
Force location updates: Manually refreshing your Latitude friends list also forces the update of your own location if automatic detection is enabled.
Login errors: Several fixes completed to address multiple causes of login errors for Latitude, such as invalid certificates.
Backlight behavior: Your device backlight should turn off according to your system settings when Maps or Latitude is left open in the background. Previously, Latitude may have kept your backlight on when in the background.
Internal error: Selecting a friend in Latitude to see more info and options will no longer cause internal errors on some devices.
Minor
Many minor interface and layout issues have been fixed or changed.
Cell ID (cell tower) location detection near two cell towers has been improved so that your location bounces less if you're between two towers.
Map centering when GPS is active has been fixed on some phones. Previously Maps may have defaulted to your location instead of a friend's after you choose 'Show on map' for the friend in Latitude.
Friend photo icons have been fixed to properly indicate if a friend's location is recent (blue outline) or old (gray outline). Previously, some friend photo icons remained blue even if the location was old.
Photo uploading for your Latitude picture is enabled for .png files.
Known Issues
Errors may occur if you are verifying a phone number that has already been registered with another Google Account.
Username or password fields may be off screen or covered by the software keyboard. Login errors will occur if you proceed without entering a password.
Cannot paste text into fields in Maps for mobile. On some devices, you may be able to use the software keyboard's CTRL+V command to paste text into Maps as needed.
Thaks a lot for sharing!
thanks a lot for sharing !!!
awesome thanks!!
i think this is the same version thats been out for over a month now.
correct me if i'm wrong. but the one thing that makes me think its the same is that latitude doesn't run in the background when you close, even though you agree to continue sharing position.
although my phone may not support cell tower based connections as a backgrounds service...
boo sprint
having an always updated thread about google maps with changelog is cool
so are you gonna do that with every future version d0ugie?
no Copy/Paste = SUX
hopefully it will continue to track my location as the previous version 3.0.1.2 did not! Plus it sometimes hung on a certain location (friends mobile) even though I updated it and on my mobile I am on the spot.
Cheers ... was just about to go looking for this "bad boy"
Font size
Does this version 3.0.1.4 still have the font size issue that prior 3.x versions have had? I'm still using a 2.x version on my Tilt because I haven't found a fix...
oh thanks for sharing. Will surely update on my next CR86 THD ROM release.
Ok I can say that is has tracked me today all day. Basically I know it updated my status because my phone would make an internet connection and this happened when I made major geographic displacements. Unfortunately it takes data usage to update it.

Yes unfortunately...
Yikes. I don't know where it's autostarting, but twice after a restart I've found my Tilt is running DOG SLOW and I go into MemMaid and GoogleMaps is taking 100% CPU for several minutes.
I was running it with Latitude on and I locked up the device playing with something and had to restart, so I guess I exercised the functionality where it'll auto-start Latitude for you. I haven't tried exiting and leaving Latitude running and resetting again.
If it keeps doing this, I'll go back to the previous version. Latitude is cute but I don't want it doing this. I never leave it running anyway, I have enough stuff running on my Tilt.

Maps off line.
What I really want is the ability to download maps to use off line like Nokia maps I no downloading the hole of the uk might be to big but downloading just the required city/town should be easy to do as most phones now come with at least 8 gb.
QuickMenu comes with a nice Copy/Paste function (when you do a long click on it while having focus on a text field). Maybe it can be used on google map ?
I haven't tested, I will get this new version later.

Even with nothing else running, skype opens, logs on, then just crashes right down? anybody else have this?
all I have installed so far is tomotom 5 and total commander.
same problem here.. what version are you running?
I noticed more crashes in 1.20 (beta) from the forums
boh versions 1.1 and 1.2 beta xscale
now its working ok, uninstalled the beta and did a soft reset b4 reinstalling 1.1. this sucks
I tt5
voice command 1.5
total commander installed
the 1.1 has started crashing now too. damn. you thought these monkeys could have checked this out first?
These maybe some of the causes
Skype would NOT open when many applications running in the background. Closing them all it then opened OK,
ACTIVE SYNC id the biggest criminal, it will not run with this in the background.
Close AS4 and SKYPE opens up.
This is now a "Known Problem" on the Imate site, as well as unstable WIFI, which they claim to have fixed, though they don't tell us what the fix is...
Hi,
Here is the update radio stack .
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Universal/Bluetooth 1.03.01/
What is this stack for?
This is a Blue tooth? Will it fix the Skype issue? Because I killed myself getting BT to work with Tomtom, would hate to lose that, also, are there any update instructions?
Skype issues...
I have another skype related issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=28257&highlight=
any suggestions?
ActiveSync conflicts with skype
It took a while to work out, but here it is: Skype works fine as long ActiveSync is not on. In the old machines, AS would kick in and appear in the memory only after you sync'd. Here it comes up automatically, whether you sync or not. In fact, you should see Active sync running in the background virtually always.
Clicking on the memory you'll see its always on, you press stop, and Skype works for 5-10 minutes, until AS turns tiself back on.
Any fixes for this in the registry?
In my case, Skype does not really crash, it simply does not open up after minimised. However the application is actually operating correctly in the background (I can still receive calls), only the links in the Start menu and Programs menu stop working.
I found that you can bring back the application by going into the Settings --> Memory --> Running Programs and then activate the application from there. Also, if you have an ongoing call and tap on the phone icon on top of the screen, the application is displayed correctly. Reception of a call also 'wakes' Skype up.
If you want to reduce ActiveSync activity you can reduce the update period in Programs-->ActiveSync-->Menu-->Schedule (e.g. peak and non peak hours).
Do you have a JasJar
I don't have a 'schedule' option oin the Jasjar??? Do you? I have 'connections' which is usb + speeds. or 'settings' which is as settings for mail notes, etc

ActiveSync won't show the Schedule menu unless you have an Exchange Server configured for email. The schedule is for periodically checking the server (default 10 minutes).
To Mikey:
Nabil has managed to install a working upgrade of Activesync 4.1. I wonder if that is worth trying to resolve your conflict with Skype & ActiveSync. It's worth a shot, that is if you havent already tried it.

has anyone noticed the size difference between the skype cab you get off skypes site compared to the one in the extended rom,
site = 3.79mb
rom = 4.60mb
anyone used the sites one yet??
im about to load it up as i got rid of skype soon as i got me jasjar out of the box. i'll post results shortly
well, installed and running from the site (the smaller cab), with loads of other apps including activesync, wifi, PIE, contacts, etc, havent got any contacts on there yet tho, so cant really tell if its meant to be having problems yet but it appears to be working absolutly fine
about page states version 1.1.0.6
whats the roms installation version?
the real culprit was, 100% sure, VC1.5
I did several hard reset and re-installs. competition for title of Skype Killer was down to SPB3 and MS VC1.5. well, MS Voice Command 1.5 caused the active sync to kick in and Skype to bug and only a hard reset got rid of it.
myRadar is a location aware radar application that makes use of Wunderground and Accuweather US webservices to show real-time, animated Radar Images of your local area regardless of where in the US you might be. This application requires myLocation services to function automatically.
Note: the ROM based HTML viewer control that myRadar uses to pull web service data is broken in cooked WM6.5 builds from mid 23xxx up to 28205 (which tested good when I built for Raphael). The problem renders the viewer unable to "go online". No 21xxx ROMs are affected tmk. This includes all shipping WM6.5 builds & derivatives. Hopefully we'll get to the root problem itnf and it won't require a re-flash to correct
The myLocation service installer can be found here.
The program will install to \Program Files\myRadar. A custom png Icon is also located there for those who may wish to install it in Titanium or Manilla.
Have fun with it!
Changelog:
v1.1
Added gesture capability when loaded in landscape mode. changed pathing logic.
Todo: resize window when device is switched to landscape mode during display.
v1.2
Improved pathing logic. myRadar now looks for myRadar.html in the same folder.
Window will auto-resize when landscape mode is selected. Whether it shows the Map or a background "loading" display is sporadic however. I'm still tracking this bug.
White screen issue isn't fixed yet. I believe I know where the problem lies however.
v1.3
Auto-resize issues corrected. The shown map resizes correctly.
HTC G-Sensor enabled. Simply orient your device for the view you prefer.
Re-boot after installing to activate G-Sensor changes.
v1.4
I removed the Accuweather feed. Using the Wunderground Feed only. Buttons now allow zoom in/out in 120 mile radius increments.

I love radar, thanks, will test this baby out!
Awesome Sleuth... Now we need to get showacos titanium weather to work with it lol.
Already have Radar working. I'll be working on his mortscript for the weather panels itnf. I took a cursory glance a few weeks ago and it's no big deal. I'm hoping to see a lat/long->zipcode myLocation plugin itnf from irus. That will make coding changes a breeze.
Please don't keep it US and WVGA only as your mylocation "awareness" keeps getting better! At least, the non-radar part (radar's US only, isn't it?)!
lol, guess I deserved that.
If you can give me some web URLs that return international radar images, I'd be happy to work custom HTML scripts into the application and let everybody choose which ones to use.
myRadar is really a customized browser that displays a page from myRadar.html. That HTML file contains the coded wunderground/accuweather info. I can link to any site that can return an animated gif when you give it a lat/long.
as an Example Vienna/Austria:
the animatet GIF here
the radar Site here
It's listed as International Site beta but maybe it's usable.
hmmm... nice site! Let me play with it a bit.
thread moved to Rhodium Themes, Applications and Software since it is mostly relevant to this device.
Sweet!
I always love new radar apps! Nice find!
Installed, my location is working properly.
When I click on the radar app, I get a banner in the toolbar with the name, but
a blank white screen where the radar app should be?
hmmm... so you don't see the button that says "accuweather" on the top or the green line that says Weather Underground Radar loop on the bottom? That tells me it isn't loading the html page. If you installed to your SD card then that would cause it. myradar.html must be in \program files\myRadar
Sleuth - Same problem with blank white screen and nothing else. Location is perfect in mylocation. I am running EnergyRom 123109 with 2.5 sense interface. Edit - running it in the Titanium interface makes no difference.
I saw accuweather radar images are for Europe, too. As for Vienna, so it's for Trento (Italy). http://www.accuweather.com/en-us/EUR/IT/IT017/Trento/satellite.aspx
Is this software going to become worldwiSe?

Go to my device (not storage card)\program files\myRadar with your favorite file manager. Is there a file named "myRadar.html" there ?(or will have PIE icon if you can't display file extensions) What other files are in this directory?
If myRadar.html is there, tap on it to launch in PIE. What state is shown on the map?
edit: if you don't have a \program files\myRadar directory on your device, then re-download the cab in post 1 and re-install. I just noticed that your initial post occurred just after I posted the fix.

Working on this. Your first URL stopped working for me after a few inquiries (returned page not available error). I'm investigating why this might be.
The one you just gave me doesn't use Lat/Long coordinates so won't work without a regional translator utility which can take Latitude/Longitude and translate to "EUR/IT/IT017" for example. We're working on one that can do this for US Zip codes currently. I'm also working on getting WOEID information into myLocation since this is a worldwide location system as well that seems to be turning into a standard of some sort.
Still not working
Ok, mine is in the correct folder.
When I launch the html file, it pops up in PIE like it is suppose to.
When I launch it from the icon, I get a blank white screen.
hmm... that points to a problem with the HTML viewer app itself which is leveraging ROM based HTML serivices. Not sure if it is ROM related or not.
v1.1 is up! Adds gesture support to the landscape display.
@posters with white screens: check to see if this cures the issue. If this doesn't cure the issue, please post links to the Chef's thread for the ROM you are running so I can take a look at it.
That might be it! I'll have to check, the rom I run, has skyfire as the default browser, not PIE

sooo.. did the update not help you? Can you post a link to your Rom's thead? The HTML viewer is loading b/c you get a white screen. I'll throw an error if the control isn't loaded. I'm gonna test on some of my older devices to see if I can reproduce this.
edit. Sorry, tried WM5 original TyTN (unbelievable that myLocation works on this with only font issues on the cpl dialog box), WM6 running on a Tilt, and WM6.5 running on a Fuze. I'm unable to reproduce the blank white screen issue.
mySearch is a location aware search application that uses Microsoft Bing to return results based on your current position. Just enter in your search term and press the search button to return location specific results!
Note: the ROM based HTML viewer control that mySearch uses to pull web service data is broken in cooked WM6.5 builds from mid 23xxx up to 28205 (which tested good when I built for Raphael). This app requires myLocation services. The myLocation service installer can be found here. If your device has HTC's G-Sensor service then simply orient the screen for landscape or portrait mode. Finger based scrolling/panning is also enabled on all devices that support it.
The program will install to \Program Files\mySearch. A custom png Icon is also located there for those who may wish to install it in Titanium or Manilla.

Of course, mySearch works for any kind of searching as well. Location info is only used by bing if you are requesting something where the results may be location relevant. For example, I was in the fish store the other day and needed a picture:
Bing actually does a very good job of automatically figuring out when you want location relevance:
In short, this little app is an all around neat search tool. With finger flickable screen scrolling, and g-sensor enabled screen sizing, I'm actually amazed at how well it works as a general purpose web browser too. Maybe my next program will be a simple browser replacement that is powered by the HTML view control! Heck, all I need is a URL input control and a progress bar...
Is MySearch supposed to run on WM6.1 as well ? When running it on my device (Blackstone stock ROM latest), it says connecting, but nothing happens ...
It could be your connection speed. Sometimes it takes a while. Also check to make sure that you can access http://m.bing.com with PIE.
version 1.1 is up! I've added some essential softkey navigation features. See Post 1.
You're right, there is some problem with PIE on my device, it wouldn't connect to anything, whereas Opera Mobile just works perfectly fine. I'll have to look into that ... I'll keep you up-to-date ...
v1.2 is up and corrects an issue with the Back button. See changelog for details.
This is one sweet app but its not working right on my tmo touch pro2.I've installed mylocation and installed mysearch. However when I search the listings being given are way off. I'm in upstate ny and the listings show wisconsin. is there something I can do?
MyLocation may not be working correctly. There have been reports of this with T-Mobile users using 3G services, reason being that the 3G towers aren't in Google's database. Test this with myRadar. It will show a map of the current location. You can place the service in manual mode and enter the correct latitude/longitude yourself as a work around. Also, going to Edge from 3G may correct your problem.
Also works fine on Omnia II i8000
Tested it on my Omnia II i8000 with WM6.5.3 (rom 28008 pdaviet) in combination with my MySearch and works super. Thanks!
Now I need a program that can contineously send the info to for example google latitude. The ultimate tracking solution. If someone has an idea in that direction....
great app thank you!
can anyone please tell me what is that weather plugin showing above the clock that reads '23o Light Fog' ?
Thanks
That's a mylocation aware TitaniumWeather variant. If you need it now, load showaco's cab then copy the titaniumweather.mscr from post one of the mylocation service thread.
Or....
Wait for the cab (working with BeyondInvisible currently on some graphics mods)
Or....
wait for Sleuth's Rhodium ROM featuring myLocation services. You're actually seeing screenshots from a test build on post 1
Here's what TitaniumWeather featuring Beyond's incredible artwork looks like when the panel is selected:
this app would be perfect if my tp2 gps didnt take 10-15minutes to lock on to my location.
Your GPS isn't used by this app. The myLocation service uses the celltower your phone is connected to for location determination. It's about 3-5Km from your actual position but more than accurate enough for mySearch, myRadar and TitaniumWeather.
I'm using an EnergyRom version. OS is 23539
I know you said it wouldn't work. Can confirm. It just shows a blank white screen.
However. Location service and Titanium weather work great. Thanks!
Looking forward to a fix for 23xxx builds.

qWhereAmI is an Android application that displays your location, and reverse geocodes your Gps coordinates into a friendly place name, such as "Battle Creek, Michigan" or "Chicago, Illinois." This is done using Google's, or Bing's reverse geocoding services. With the click of a button, you can save your current location. This is great for truckers who can simply click a button if they hop out of the rig for a minute, or stop for a nap, and don't feel like immediately recording information in their paperwork. The reverse geocoding service is handy just for figuring out what little town you're in. Yes, there are other applications that already do this, such as weather services, that display your location, but their location services don't update as frequently as this one does, or with as much detail.
Your saved locations can easily be exported as Google Earth kml files, or you can import kml files. Export saved locations and share them colleagues, friends, or family. On vacation? Use qWhereAmI to save locations of places you visit, export them to kml, and open all your saved places in Google Earth for a trip down memory lane!
Are you a truck driver that operates locally without the need for a logbook? Are you sure that you're not traveling outside the (local) range defined by the the D.O.T? Use the built in Haversine calculator to determine if a destination is within your bounds, otherwise, pull out the old logbook!
Both Gps and Network location providers may be used, although Gps is much more accurate. Network location can sometimes be off by miles to your actual location, although if you're just using it for the reverse geocoding, it shouldn't matter that much.
Clicking on Local Information will bring up various options, such as viewing the location on a map, getting directions from this location to X, or viewing Wikipedia data about where you're at. If you have saved a location, options are included to easily get directions to a saved location from your current position, just by clicking a button or two, or viewing the location on a map.
Currently, the mapping links work with Google and Bing. Clicking the map links will open up Google Maps if it's on your device, otherwise, a browser will open up to Google Maps Mobile.Any navigation links will direct you to Google Navigator (Maps), or whichever navigation app you have installed. The Bing links open whatever default browser you have to display map information. Future versions may include functionality to launch the Bing app for map links and navigation.
PERMISSIONS
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION - These two permissions allow the app to receive GPS coordinates, or network based location estimates from your device.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, INTERNET - Required to check for active data connection, and provide reverse geocoding.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - Required in order to import and export Kml files.

Thanks. This works perfectly. Its a refreshing change to see an app that does what it says and doesnt try to pack in a bunch of features that shouldnt be there. There are no ads and it hasnt asked me to follow the developer on facebook, twitter, or g+. There are no "teaser" or "disabled" options that must be unlocked by paying for an upgrade.

A cache wipe definitely solved my google services issue... That and deleting Fit
Good to know! I'll give both of those a shot
I m not experiencing any of these bugs . the battery life is same as in 5.0 but the phone feels as snappy as it was on kitkat
Battery life in 5.1 slightly better than 5.0
Yes, I have UI glitches in some apps, most affected - Camera.
First glitch on 5.1 ...When I opened maps yesterday..

The exact same thing happened to me (only on Maps, didn't notice it on other apps) when I uninstalled the latest version of Play Services and installed the factory version, but when I updated Play Services again the problem went away. As for bugs on the 5.1 update, here's what I've seen so far:
1- GPS icon never disappears from status bar. The only way to get it out is selecting "Battery Saving" in the Location settings. If "High accuracy" is selected the icon stays there forever.
2- Some weird bug with trusted places and Android Device manager, it seems they're conflicting somehow. Trusted places only started to work after I disabled Android Device Manager from device administrators and uninstalled the updated version of Play Services (I updated it afterwards and trusted places seems to be working fine now).
3- When I toggle wifi off, it takes much longer for 3G to connect than it did before.
I'm using the 5.1 leak from the brazilian soak for model XT1097.

That's actually exactly what I was expecting. It's a qcom bug in the adreno drivers and will be fixed in the final release (qcom has released newer drivers that fix the problem).
Contacts suddenly disappeared also recent calls and speed dial totally deleted then re synched again
I did a cache wipe and uninstalled fit. still getting crappy battery life. loosing about 10% per hour with medium use. I used to be still at 45% by the end of the day, now i'm hitting that mid afternoon.
I had the Google Map graphic bug after an update from the Play Store. I cleared the data in the Google Maps App and it seemed to fix the issue.
I also had an issue with the Trusted Places as well. I removed the places from my list and re-adding them and it seemed to work. I'm at home now and I don't have to unlock with my pattern and today at work it was working just fine.
I have not experienced any of the other bugs mentioned here, though.
Three weeks with 5.1 despite added nice features which I really like but generally it's totally unstable
I still can't use Moto Voice. All it does is default to Google Search. I say Okay Moto X whats up and it does a search on Google search. It has been like this since the soak test to 5.0 that basically bricked my phone because they couldn't update us.
