[Help] Mini SD Is Missing ! - P3600 General

I Need some help guys, I got some problem as my trinity (WM 6) can not recognize my Mini SD 2gb anymore. I've inserted into trinity mini sd slot, but trinity did not recognized my mini sd. FYI, I've been using this Mini SD on trinity for almost 7 months, and it works great until yesterday.
Unfortunately, now i can not use my mini SD as trinity did not recognized as a storage or external memory. I've been tested if my mini SD was broken. I've inserted the same mini SD into my laptop's memory reader, surprisingly this mini SD was recognized by laptop and was normal
So the problem is on my trinity, what happened here guys as this problem was suddenly happened on trinity ? and what is the best solution for this problem
Thanks,
Tony

been a lot of talk about this over the forum do a search for more info.
but Iv had it happen to me over the last few days, on a 2gig card that came with the phone and a 8gig hc card.
I just kept taking it in and out and each time its come back on.
thats not to say it will work for you as it could be some other reason your card is not working.
I think that some times the card just does not sit right or the phone needs a reset to see the card again do a soft reset may help if its just the phone loosing sight of the card.
hope you get it sorted.

New Issue With MiniSD

I have a hermes and there i was using a 2 gb sandisk micro sd card for some 5 month...and recently i brought a trinity and then hence im using that micro sd card with a minisd adapter in the trinity...and for last 1 week it worked flawlessly...last night all of a sudden the minisd card disappeared...no sign of storage card like that there has no card inserted...although in the about window it says expention slot in use..but in memory window no storage card installed!! and resco explorer or any other program cant detect the card...
firstly i thought my card is currupted so i inserted it (the micro sd) in my hermes and it worked there without any glitch...even then i formatted it in both fat16 and fat32 in the pc with a card reader but my trinity cant detect the card....
then i thought my mini sd adapter is broken...so i tried the memory card with the minisd adapter in the nokia 6280 and its working there without any probs....and then i tried the 64mb minisd card that came with nokia 6280 in the trinity and WTF my trinity can detect this card and also working with it..that means the card slot of the trinity is ok...
after all of this experiment then i flashed 3 types of rom in the trinity to see if it can detect the card... one is the lsvw edition with gps...(that i was using for a week before this thing happened) then a original htc rom and the dopod australia rom that my set had when i purched it...but all this three rom has same result...can detect 64 mb card (which is nokia oem minisd) but cant detect the 2gb sacdisk (wich is a micro sd to mini sd converted)...
now do anyone have similar kind of problem...or this is a new issue...i dont have any other card to try in this moment.... just ordered a oem 4gb minisd...will get it in next week...
and finally to let you know that my micro sd card is perfectlly working both in hermes and in nokia with the mini sd adapter and i also did a rough test on it with a card reader in computer with the mini sd converted inserted...and no sign of a probs there...
any comment or suggestion would be helpfull...
and a final thing as i brought it in plan from 3 australuia..and im still in that 14 day period...do you thing if i go to a 3 store and told them the setuation will they replace my handset..??i have the dopod australia rom installed so i dont hink they will be able to detect that i had flased other roms...??

Sorry but I disagree. I have been using a standard Sandisk 2GB miniSD for 4 months now without any problem.
i got told it will only support a maximum of a 1gb mini sd?????
Using a 2 GB SanDisk without problems.
I've been using a standard (non SDHC) 4 gb card for 3 months with no major problems. Never had the card 'disappear' completely - only minor file corruption like losing a picture or a ringtone (but it always comes back on soft reset). Only have those types of issues occasionally anyway (like maybe 1 a week - device should be soft reset that often anyway!) Overall, very pleased with the performance of this device.
G'day,
Perhaps you could try formatting the card in the trinity using an OEM tool. My card (1GB Sandisk miniSD) "disappeared" a few weeks ago after using it OK for a month. I used a card reader in my PC to back it up then formatted it using Spb Pocket Plus in the trinity. I was then able to restore the data from the PC using activesync. Worked OK for me and no problems since.
Good luck.
minisd card problem
Dear Customer,
Thanks for your email regarding your P3600.? The issue you describe is something we are aware of and are currently in the process of rectifying.? It seems to be linked in some way to the latest updates to Windows Mobile 5 and as such we have also enlisted Microsoft's help in solving this.? It seems that the device is accessing the memory while it is in an idle state.
We are currently still investigating the matter with the help of our engineers in Taiwan, but in the meantime, to workaround the problem you can set the device to turn itself off after 1 minute in the power options, then let the device turn itself off instead of pressing the power button.
Once we have fixed the problem, I have no doubt it will be released in some sort of ROM update in the near future.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.
Hong Kong's D810 now officially shipped with a 2G miniSD as a gift
Ok,
I also asked HTC europe supoport about the specifications and got an answer per eMail that the P3600 supports mini SD up to 2GB and does NOT support 'ultra' or SD HC-versions.
So perhaps give it a try with a regular (and unfortunately slower) 2GB SD??

A strange developement that i thought better to be share...firstly my 2 gb sandisk micro sd card (converted to mini sd with a adapter) still doesnt work after updating to latest dopod rom and to latest aku 3.3.1 htc rom...setting>memory still says not installed...but if i boot into bootloaded mode and use the trinming.nbh trick to flash my trinity with a nbh file..it does detect the sd card instantly and start flashing without any problem..so it also prove that the sd card slot is ok and it also detect the card in hardware level but it cant recognise in software part...its strange as the same card worked for the 1st 1 week after i brought the d810..!!!!
now does anyone one have more ideas??
and hopefully im getting my topram 4gb card in a days or 2 to test more furthur...in this mean time im really frustated for not able to use tomtom as no space to keep the maps....

Have you reformatted the card using a card reader with XP?
Now...I have maintained many times that my TopRam 4gb works just fine in my Trinity while many others have complained about problems with cards from many different manufacturers, both 2gb and 4gb cards. It may not be just a coincidence that mine has no problems. I always do the WM5 performance tweaks on my devices and yesterday I saw in the Hermes Wiki a reference to a known problem with the storage buffer settings. The fix that it recommends is one of the settings that I always change with my performance tweaks. It cetainly won't hurt, and for all of those people that are constantly complaining about their miniSD cards, maybe you should try it! The other performance tweaks might also help.
Quote from the Hermes Wiki:
Missing/Corrupt SD Card?
This mod seems to make the SD Card more stable, and avoids the problems encountered by some members where the SD Card either disappears or the card 'loses' information until it's ejected then re-inserted.
There are two issues to this. One is that SD Cards that are made in Taiwan seem to have more problems than Japan made cards. Kingston SD Cards are made in Japan, so, they are a relatively good bet. Sandisk and Crucial are made in Taiwan, so seems to have more problems. The second issue is the registry; the default values are just too low.

[HKLM\System\StorageManager]"PNPUnloadDelay" = dword:8196
[HKLM\System\StorageManager]"PNPWaitIODelay" = dword:8196
Yeap i tried that performance tweak in both way increased it to 8196 and also decreased it to 1500 nothing helped..
and sure i did format it with two diffrent card reader and also using some other tools like panasonic sd card formater or hp formatting tools...and just a hour ago i tried pertitioning it into two part 1gb/1gb hermes do recognise the card so do the pc in 2 partition mode but trinity cant detect it even now...
and finally as i told you my trinity detect the 64 mb nokia oem minisd card so i also tried partitioning my micro sd into a single 64 partition to find out if it has something to do with the capacity but same result there...
so im bit of confused here...really confused..

It sounds like you've really tried everything. I don't know what else to say , maybe another card will give better luck?
Ok now there i have just got my 4gb topram card and the best of all is my trinity can detect it and show the size as 3970 mb!!!! hey..at last....even though i didnt test it throughly yet (that will be done in next couple of hour) but im happy that the problem i mentioned earlier with 2 gb micro sd card now seems was related to the mini sd card converter or with the card itself atlist not have to deal with the phone warrenty and stuff like that...
thanks to all who tried to help me out..

hi, pls cd u link the other tweaks u reccommend?
Ordered a Sandisk 2GB Ultra Mini SD card earlier today..
After reading this perhaps a 1GB would've been a safer bet... Still, worth a try. Would prefer to have the complete EU maps on one card.

Mini SD Card Fails to Initiate

Hey Guys... I'm running into some problems with my minisd card. My 8125 doesn't seem to recognize the card when i put it in? Any ideas? Ever heard of a card going bad, I don't believe it was exposed to any harmful situations.
Thanks

Cards can fail. Can you try the card in another device or try another card?
I have the same problem, but I think it's a problem with the phone, the card works just fine in my friends wizard, but it won't work in my slot...
is there something that needs to be done, like changing a setting, so that the card will recognize the mini sd card...?
one of my Mini SD cards moved from my Tornato to Wizard, then it is dead, cannot be recognized by phone and PC.
All other Mini SD works fine!

Not regconizing the storage card

I have Advantage for about 3 months now. While using the device working fine.. All of the sudden it's not regconizing my 6gb microsd card. I try everything...put it back in, reset..., but haven't try hard reset (don't want to loose my data). But it's not working.
I try to put the microsd to my computer and it's working file, so nothing wrong with the card.. Just don't know about the minisd adapter.. what? All of the sudden the minisd adapter is not working.. ?
Have anybody have this problem. ? Please help...?
have try to hard reset already, but its still not recognize the microsd card...
Anyone help...?
I went a bought another Mini Adapter, and it's working fine now.
But loading mcirosd little slower.. is there a different in speed with Minisd adapter?
I have the same problem here... micro sd is not recognized
I would buy a new adaptor... but can't find a shop that sells it seperately.
It seems like the adaptors are always sold together with a micro SD card.

Mini SD card not recognized

While uploading pictures onto the miniSD card that came with my Touch a few days ago, the window froze and my Touch hasn't been able to recognize the card at all since then. I'm pretty sure it's not a software issue as I've tried a hard reset with no luck, and I'm hesitant on buying a new miniSD card cuz I'm not really sure if it's a hardware issue.
Has anyone experienced something like this at all?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
will the card work in a card reader?
have you tried re-formatting the card?
im having the same problem =/
ok
my phone isnt reading any sd card
my sd card adapter isnt working properly either i've tested it on a video camera that supports sd cards
so is it best to jus get a replacement phone?

Htc Hd Mini Android Sd Card Problems :(

I have a problem with my HD MINI I have Android 2.2 on it and I can´t use my SD-Card. I tried to format it with fat32 but it didn´t work. I have and 8GB Micro SD Card by Hama, Class 2 and i don´t know what to do Please answer
maybe a hard reset might help, if not buy a better sd card eg. sandisk, kingston, samsung.......
Sandisk not works for me. Tried 2 sandisk not working
Sent from my HTC Liberty using XDA App
Have you tried formatting it using your phone? There is a tool somewhere in the WinMo if you use a stock ROM or a custom ROM that didn't remove it. Good luck!
I tried to format but it didn´t work later as well I´m sure I´ll buy a new one which one are working?
Htc Hd Mini Android Sd Card Problems
Even me too have the same problem. My SD card is Sandisk 8GB micro sd , also fat 32. Still its not detecting the Memory card. So not able to use the camera , not able to browse the files etc
Just to confirm, I've tried two Sandisk SD Cards and neither of them work. However I picked up a TDK card and it worked absolutely fine. Looks like Sandisk is a very unreliable card to use for Android. I've never seen anyone launch Android on one!

Chaps
I dont think it is the memory cards. I have just had my new HTC Sensation delivered and it cannot read the supplied 8gig card that comes with it ( that contains a copy of the ROM\Software ).
I put the same card in my HTC Hero running Elelinux ROM ( Android 2.2.3 ) and it read it no problem. Also my PC read the card , no issue. I put my HTC Hero card in the HTC Sensation and it wouldnt read that card. The Sensation is running Android 2.3.3 straight from Orange.
Phoned Orange last night as the phone only arrived in the morning. They are sending me a replacement phone today via courier.
Lots of discussion about this on HTC Sensation, EVO 4G, Desire and Wildfire on the net. Also, in the USA Sprint have issued a software update for the EVO to cure the problem.
I have made a note of my software stack so i can compare with what arrives later today. Suspect that if it isnt a hardware issue then its a software problem. Nothing worked to get the twoc ards workign in my phone, hard resets etc. The phone wasnt detecting the card being put in - normally on the OS sees the card insert and you get a message 'preparing SD Card' . Mine totally dead in this respect.
Lets see what happens today.
