Problem with understanding values in audioparameter file - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I'm looking for a way of changing the MIC level on the Shift so that the mic sensitivity is higher.
I'm looking into a file called audiopara3.csv, and I think this is the file to edit.
However, I can't figure out what kind of numbers or values which are used in the file.
Here is a little peek of the file:

I think I have to change the values between the commas, but I don't know what kind of values these are?
Are they HEX or something else?
I guess I can't get help with just raising the sensivity level, but maybe someone recognizes the types of values in this file?
Any help greatly appreciated

Microphone Volume / Sensitivity

My only major complaint about the Touch is that the mic volume / sensitivity seems way too high. If i am somewhere with any background noise, WHOEVER i am talking to *****es that they can not hear a word im saying. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyone know where in the reg i can change some values to lower the sensitivity of the mic? Thanks.
.eric
I got the same problem.
Audiopara.csv
You can search for the thread on the audiopara.csv file found in the windows dir. I have played with it a little and modified it to have a greater volume range on the upper and lower ends, but I'm not sure about modifying the mic sensitivity. Be careful, make a backup of the original file. I may post my final file when I get done testing.
DJ
I didn't exactly understand what it said about using the audiopara.csv file.
Do you need to change your rom? Or can it be used on an otherwise unmodified phone?
Audiopara.csv
I have modified the audiopara.csv file located in the \windows directory. There are 6 levels of volume and I have lowered the bottom two to be very quiet (for privacy) and the top one to be very loud for use in noisy environments. I have not modified the mic settings, but they are there too. You do not have to change your ROM, you can modify the file using Excel. Ultimately, if you save the file to a safe place on your hard drive, you can then make a copy, play with it, then copy it over the one on your phone, you can use trial and error and see what works. If you don't like what you did, you can take the original and copy it over the modified one on your phone. I am posting my 2low 1hi version. Good luck.
DJ
Amazing. Thanks a lot!
I'll give it a shot when I get home.
One last thing, if I feel like messing around with the settings, which are the values I want to change? I believe it's row 21 to 26 (phone headset), but I can't tell which column it is. J seems to be the only one with ascending values, in hex. Is that right?
For the other settings am I right to assume that handfree is the speaker on the back and earcuple is if you are wearing headphones?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just quite curious as to how it works.
Audiopara.csv
Well, not exactly. I changed the earcuple settings. Those are the ones that affect the normal phone speaker (not headset, bt, or speakerphone speaker) I will try to test the other settings. I, however, have not had a problem with any other settings. Btw, I'm using dcd's 0.20 ROM which works quite well, only minor glitches. I'm guessing that the RevA/GPS ROM will have some bug fixes as well. Hopefully, we won't need to tweak so much with the new one.
So it's the earcuple settings that you need to play with?
Was is right about column J in hex? Is that what you're modifying? In decimal it goes from about 20000 to 60000 right?
Now for some off-topic: I don't really understand the big deal with RevA and GPS rom? What's that all about? Is RevA just faster EVDO? and GPS is the approximate cell tower thing for google maps MyLocation? Is that it?
EDIT: found the answers to these questions on another forum. RevA sounds sweet.

Beuh_jonny,
Oh, its a big deal. RevA is much faster and GPS will allow Nav programs to basically turn your phone into a Garmin/TomTom/Magellan device and allow LiveSearch to already know where you are to find businesses quick.
To stay on thread,
I am still playing with the audio file, but I'd love to know exactly what parameters do what! Someone from the HTC programming camp would know!

These are the values in column J and they appear to be the only values that change. The problem is I have no idea what these mean. How can I make the volume louder? I could just start putting in various letters and numbers but that would take me forever!
I am having the same issue. Unfortunately I can't pinpoint when the problem started. My girlfriend just told me that it has been going on for at least a month.
The problem is that the microphone seems to amplify all of the background sounds, like there is some sort of audio limiter/compressor that is way jacked up.
Too bad no one seems to have offered any ideas regarding this specific problem in this thread...
Thanks if you can help.

HEX-Edit DLLs?

Hello, been trying to figure out how to change hex values in a X1 panel (only one dll file). I found what I want to change, I can edit the bits manually or automatically thru XVI32. But as soon as I load it into X1 the panel just freezes on load. Is it not possible to change anything within a dll file without making it corrupt? I open and save it and it works. I open and swap places of two letters and it freezes. Trying to figure this out, but it's driving me insane just about now. Maybe someone has some words of wisdom for me?
Did you re-sign after the edit?

Yes I used siggner.exe, got successful on signing, but not timestamped. Is timestamp a neccessity?
Could someone perhaps explain to me how to extend a bit-string? I can replace the characters that are there, but how do I replace the current string with a longer string without messing up the references?

To put it simply, you can't.
You can remove data and leave blank areas because all pointers refer to the same important locations afterwards, but adding data you can't without changing every reference to that and every following location.

Figured it would be something like that. But maybe it is possible to create a script which does this automatically if I input how many bits have been added at which offset..? Guessing it's not since then someone should already have made it by now..?
Nope
Again, not so simple, you would have to disassemble the DLL in order to find all the references to other locations and rewrite the DLL. I'm not aware of a simpler way.

Audiopara - Boosting volume on HTC Snap / Ozone. Any tweakers out there?

I have been looking around for info on this. Yes, I searched and went through a dozen pages..so nil... I don't own a Snap / Ozone, but I know someone who does. According to him, the volume on it , particularly the ringer volume, is not that loud, even after doing the registry edit to change the value in sound categories / control panel. Is there an edited audiopara file that will work on a Snap or Ozone? Or is there anyone out there that knows Exactly which lines to edit in the audiopara3 file?
And no, I heard the TP and TD audiopara tweaks dont work on this device.
Thanks in advance
I was able to get the ringer and the earpiece louder on the Ozone. I had to because I'm hearing impaired. I'm no expert at this stuff and I take no credit for the work. What I did first was modified some settings in the registry which helped a little. Then I made some changes to the AudioPara3 file. Basiclly, it was trial and error from AudioPara3 files from other phones on this forum. It works great for me. I have attached the two files.
Also, if someone can modify this file to get the Motorola H710 headset working without random disconnects from the phone(even though the call is still active) I'd appreciate it. Let me know how this works.
Rick
I posted the wrong AudioPara3 file. Here is the correct one.
May I ask what is Audiopara?
There is a file called AudioPara3 in the Windows directory. If you copy it over to a PC, you'll see it's an excel spreadsheet with values controlling many aspects of the phone. I wouldn't edit the file in excel just view. The best way to edit is in notepad. Hope this helps
Does Audiopara boost the volume without a drop in sound quality?

ModuleName\Whitelist for autoRotation?

after fiddling with the registry i came across these two folders in the registry and they do appear to be responsible for the autorotation with the gsensor. would one of you please help me how to figure out the value to put in the whitelist folder for a specific program of my choice because the value for the module name seems to be obvious which is the exe file name and extension but the one in the whitelist seems all random to me :S . hope someone understands what i mean
Just use TD2 Tools, that have a module that manage the white list
Thank you soo much man.. the application did exactly what i wanted to do
here is the link if anyone is interested too

[Q] on Value Data registry entry

more like a favor, from a HD7 owner. I need someone to check/search there Samsung registry for volume and tell me there MiniCallVolume value data. Or if there is entry such as that located in that folder.
Go to the sticky "Diagnosis Codes". Currently third post.
You will find all you need to know there.

let me be clear I didn't say anything about Diagnosis Codes HTC HD7 user don't have access to this area I need someone on there samsung focus to check their registry http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907971
No idea why he linked you to the Diagnosis code thread, that is not at all relevant.
Anyway, I did a search for Volume in my registry and found an entry for MinInCallVolume not one for MiniCallVolume
Either way, the entry for HKCU/Control Panel/Volume/MinInCallVolume was 4369
(Max was 10)

I was hoping it might be different. I want my in call volume to be louder. when I adjust the value higher nothing seems to happen.
