ModuleName\Whitelist for autoRotation? - Touch HD General

after fiddling with the registry i came across these two folders in the registry and they do appear to be responsible for the autorotation with the gsensor. would one of you please help me how to figure out the value to put in the whitelist folder for a specific program of my choice because the value for the module name seems to be obvious which is the exe file name and extension but the one in the whitelist seems all random to me :S . hope someone understands what i mean

Just use TD2 Tools, that have a module that manage the white list

Thank you soo much man.. the application did exactly what i wanted to do
here is the link if anyone is interested too

Rename file extensions

I hope someone can help, as I haven't been able to find the answer yet (I can imagine it may be somewhere here on xda-developers.com, just CAN'T seem to find it ;-)
How do you rename a file AND its extension.
I have quite a bit of software installed, but still nothing seems to solve this little problem. There are some cases where I think it may help (certain word files, media files are not recognized in WM2003?!) and it would be nice if you could manually set a file's extension.
Anyone posting a link or an answer would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe some software that does this?
Thanks.
Regards,
Gnuig
Resco Explorer can
i could not navigate my pda without getting grey hair did i not use
total commander it renames just a charm and pretty much act like it's windows sister version which again act pretty much like good old
norton commander from the dos days
Thanks guys. I'll give them both a try, yet I recall that I found something about resco products (durring install?) that I didn't particularly like. Maybe just my imagination :?
But, I'll try them both out... as I found I really need to rename files 'on-the-fly' from time to time.
Regards
well i use total commander all the time renaming my sheep p0rn collection mpg's to .tsk all the time so people who mess around with my pda think they are damaged today screen themes to hide my terrorble secret
2 ways to do it single tap a file and it goes into rename mode where the extention is changed by changing the last 3 letters after the .
or hold down the pen givng a menu which include rename

Finally HTCHome.dll Cracked !!

Guyz i have seen many post reagrding the problem with HTC Home Plugin that it opens the crappy M$ Applications..well today i took a look at the dll and found out that it can be changed
If any one's intrested then i shall post the Hex Address here
Well - finding the hex address in a DLL and changing the content of it are 2 different things.
Have you successfully changed the program that is started?
Next problem ... the most files from HTC have a signature. If you HEX Edit some things, your signature is damage!
Hi Ather!
I agree, it's really diferent finding the HEX position than to modify it.... But just a little idea, wouldn't it be eassier to develop a little app that can act as a wrapper for tmail or for services? I mean, you have tmail.exe renamed to tmail2.exe and place other app's in it's place. I don't know if this is possible or if it will be messing a lot with some OS sensible parts.... What do you think?
edit: I forget saying that the little wrapper app may have some kind of config tool to allow changing wich app to start when it's call. By default it should run tmail2.exe...
edit2: you can take this as far as you want... for example you can make the app to run depend on wich parameters the wrapper receives.
(sorry for the lot of edits... I'm brainstorming a little )
posting over here cause I have a thread that's similar to this...
in regards to the wrapper app...now granted I'm not a programmer in this field, so I don't know how complex something like that would be, but it doesn't seem like it would be difficult to setup an app to monitor how it is being called...
if call(tmail.exe /var1)
run tmail2.exe
elseif call(tmail.exe /var2)
run myMsgApp.exe

I think the first part is , as _h4x0r_ said on the other thread, knowing if changing the exe name will do the trick. Any one can confirm this point? I'm currently at work and cannot test it...
I'll be able to test this in a sec...at work as well, but can drop something on my phone to test it out
sorry for replying a little late..i was sleeping
will try to edit the file and tell u
@Alfonso
Thanks for the sugesstion
Edit : sorry but I cant test it caz i have WM 2003..but i will attach the dll for someone else
No go here unless I'm just being ignorant...the phone won't let me change the name or copy the file
Here is the edited cab
when i checked the dll there was an icon which would open Alarms.. ( ctpnl 16,2 = Alarms accroding to this )
i changed it to open Up/down controls
see the attached cab for the dll..just install it into the device..it reads all the sms , mms, calls count from the registery..

but I like being able to open my alarms
I'd find it much more usefull if I could change which messaging apps are opened

it can be changed later
but first thing is that did the DLL work or not.if yes then we can continue..
Yeah I tried it from the PC...it just tells me I don't have access. Now, I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier and I don't know if it has any bearing on the situation...but while the program may not be 'running,' I see tmail.exe listed when I switch to the 'Processes' view in Task Manager. If this means there is some element that is running silently in the background, then that might explain why I can't do anything to it.
It might be possible that tmail.exe is a system file. You could try Resco Explorer to see if it can change it.
actually it can be changed...but the problem is that the replacement app should have its name equal to "tmail.exe" words..im not that good with Hex-Editing...there is a user i cant remeber his name who edited the Lg today plugin..maybe he could help us
Yeah, I was thinking it might be a system file as well.
Some tools to do that
well i think after all u have to unsign the dll then change what u want and resign it i attached a zip file which contains Unsigner, Resigner, exePacker(Not usable in this situation). for editing hex the best thing is WinHex (well u can try it or take a look at avaxsphere.com ). Before we used this tools for HTC Album and it worked + LG today Screen. I think it will work for this too.

I had done this in the past by getting the email button to launch flexmail. I hex edited tmail.exe to be fmail.exe and used vjbrisk to redirect to flexmail. Don't forget to sign the dll or it won't run.

Hide Pictures from Album

Hi there. Apologies if this question has been asked and answered, however I have searched the threads and not found anything.
I'm also a bit new to windows mobile devices, etc and don't even know how to 'tweak'!! .... so please humour me
All I'm looking to do is try to hide certain photos / pictures from being shown in the HTC Album.
If anyone could point me in the right direction then that would be greatly apreciated!
Thanks.
First of all, welcome to xda
Anyway, you can't stop specific images showing up in the album, but you can stop specific folders from showing up.
See tip 64 in the hints & tips link in my signature.
You'll need a registry editor, such as Resco or Total Commander (I use the latter because it's totally free, but Resco is a lot more finger friendly).
That's all you need to do it, but I guess you may need some help editing the registry. There's tons of threads in here telling you how to edit the registry, and you really should read as much of it as you can before you start. The registry is pretty darn important to windows and all applications running under it, and you can render your device near useless if you do something badly wrong. (This is unlikely, but definitely possible. I could tell you 1 registry value to change and you wouldn't be able to use your phone again without a factory reset!)
I'd highly recommend taking a backup of any registry values that you're going to modify, even if it's just pen and paper backups so you can set the values back later if you so wish.
Other than that, have fun tweaking. That link has MANY more tweaks in it, so have a read through it. It's a great place to start.
Hope this helps
Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look through the other threads as you've suggested, although I'm not too sure I trust myself that much!
I picked up on another article I found on the web, which seems to suggest that its possible to hide individual pictures? Copied below...
Note: Additionally, if you want to hide a specific picture, just set its attributes to hidden and it will not be shown in the Album application. Do that for all individual pictures you want to keep from the program.
easy. install resco file explorer. choose pic or any file u wanna hide. menu/properties nd check hidden. this way they wont show in album. default explorer cant hide. also u can choose encrypt in resco nd this way they will b hidden from album nd need a password if u try to open them in explorer. good software.

Disable SMS sent pop-up

I'm sure most of you know how to get this done already. But this is a new forum and bound to be new people dropping by. For those of you who are still trying to figure this out...
I've found that Advanced Config tends to mess a few things up on our phones as not all the key's are the same as HTC phones.. (if u are looking for a tweaking program woodhole from lg-expo.com has put together quite a few good tweaks.. i'm still hoping he'll cross post a link here you all can check it out)
so to manually edit your registry you'll need a program for that:
Total Commander works great for me and my needs
However, LG was nice enough to provide a reg editor but doesn't seem to be as user friendly. it's called TascalRegEdit.exe and can be found in the /windows directory
in registry navigate to HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INBOX\SETTINGS\SMSNoSentMsg
change the value from 0 to 1
reboot.
cheers

HLKM? o really? hehe...
here i made a cab for everyone
Can't get sms sent notification to turn off.
I feel so defeated.
I've tried three ways to kill the Sent Notification:
1. Change the registry manually (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings).
2. Install juggernaut's cab
3. Replace the HTCMessageSent.exe file, per ookba. (Original file is read-only and can't be deleted).
I've got a Verizon HTC Ozone and the only mod that I've made is to install the new rom that updates to WM6.5 from HTC's site.
That damned SMS sent notification is killing me!!
Is my device ignoring me?
There could be something in the registry that is preventing you from killing it. For the IQ users there was a reg in the LG Idles (UI from LG) that was preventing it. Perhaps HTC has something similar in their UI.
what device u on anderson?

a good registry editor is regedit and is pretty user friendly.

lg camera app keeps freezing

Hi
I was playing around with some of the exe files in the /windows folder and came across QcameraApp.exe, which allows you to change the settings of the camera like framerate, white balance etc. I didn't make any changes, just looked through the options.
But ever since then, my phone freezes everytime I open the lgcamera app.
I found a related thread in this same forum titled "Usb switch and other Apps not in start menu" , which warns you about the same problem. Howewer it doesn't say exactly how to fix it, other than replacing all the files in the windows folder.
I don't have the windows folder backed up...so if one of you guys can post all the files in the windows folder related to lgcamera and qCameraApp, I might be able to fix the problem.
Also if somebody could post all the registry entries at HKCU/software/lge/lgcamera, I would really appreciate it.
I am really hoping somebody can help me out, otherwise my only option is hard reset.
Thank YOU
phone: lg expo
rom: factory installed original rom
all you need are old registry settings
After doing some more research, I have found out that just restoring the registry settings should fix the problem...
If one of you guys could export the registry from hkcu/software/lge/lgcamera...it would help me out a lot.
there are only like 20 entries, can one of you just post the values for these 20 odd fields...
Thank You
Camera registry settings
Not sure about the first entry, you may not want to mess with that as it may be date and time algorithm... but I'll put them all here for you. Let me know how it works for you. Thank MyMobiler for the screenshots, it works flawlessly with the Expo.
