...and Here It Is!!! The English Language On My Former French/spanish/german... 6915
I Finished A Lucky Upgrade For My Hw6915 To English Os... I Just Need Some Radio.nba Backup From An Original English Device (version 1.21uk), Backup Made With Awizard...
Please explain the procedure for eng update
Hi wikidorg,
Please upload the files somewhere (os.nbh) and explain the procedure to upgrade to eng version. Ruu file will also be needed.
Drahtman
Hi Drahtman... there is no os.nbh in english in my upgrade... i have only clean upgrade (with tested Ruu and hexedited CEOS.nbf) for the group of four languages supported by HP official 6900 series updates: German, Spanish, Danish and French... For the english update i simply used awizard tool, and the 1.21.00uk ceos.nba downloaded from xda-developers forum...i made hundreds of unsuccessfully tests upon the french OS, and, after flashing with spanish OS, awizard method worked from the first try... so, now is english 1.21uk..
Regards
Are you shure this is working ?
Hi wikidorg,
I will try this when i will have time. I hope this is working solution ? Are you shure about that ?

(meanwhile, i've made a new try with English OS nba via awizard method, this time from "Safe mode", after hard reset my hw6915 have English OS and all programs work fine... I need the radio.nba backup from original 1.21uk installation, to test via the same method...)

You mean I must flash my 6915 to spanish os firstly then use awizard tool flash 1.21.00uk ceos.nba into it? Would you please send me a e-mail about how to flash my 6915 to english os? My E-mail address is [email protected]
best regards

for aWizard it doesn't matter OS language as long as you work "by the book" with program's instructions... i was just posting the things how it worked that day; i changed my OS language about 10 times from that day and worked everytime... but aWizard is not a "secure way" so I intend to find a way to obtain English CEOS.nbf to put it toghether with Sable_RUU, and most of all, to find a stable RadioOs.nbf and RadioFS.nbf and release the complete solution... By now I can work exclusivelly with OS, all i have posted here is not a real upgrade, is language changing (with a secondary upgrade effect)... Anyway, my 6915 is still bricked, with no radio GSM, as a result of my first try to change the language), so don't flash anything except the CEOS.nbf and to 69xx... And, by the way, if SOMEONE CAN MAKE A RADIO BACKUP WITH AWIZARD, it would be helpful...
Hi wikidorg !
What do you mean with bricked radio ? Why dont you try with french ROM like i did ? This French upgrade includs GSM stack and OS upgrade. I did it your way this ENG upgrade, but something went wrong in the midle of upgrade process so i went to bootloader mode and upgrade my iPAQ with French ROM witch included GSM stack and then repeated your procedure of ENG upgrade. Why dont you try this way like i do ? By the way, you never mentioned in your procedure that i must do 3 steps in awizard tools. My first step was: Enable RAPI with "e" <enter> then Unlock CID with "u" <enter> and the last step was Start with OS ROM write to the device "w" <enter>. Then everything went well and after 10 min. the procedure successfuly ends. After a Hard Reset the system boot up and evrything was OK ! One thing still was not OK, the french folders from FRENCH upgrade was present in windows folder, so i deleted them and this was it. And the second thing: After Hard reset, when the windows boot up for the first time, you must wait until windows come to the point where screen aligning begin, then you must Soft Reset the Windows and this is it. I hope this thread will help someone.
Best Regards,
Drahtman
Hi Drahtman
Well, i supposed you knew to deal with aWizard, like everybody else trying to flash the 69xx, and, however, the procedure is very well described in aWizard's contents...You can also immagine i already knew what's inside the French upgrade... i've tryed hundreds of full flash (including RadioOs and everything else), but radio stack crash at 1%... and not only with the french RadioOs (btw, is an ENG RadioOs+RadioFs), but with all the other RadioOs and RadioFs from other upgrades.. the same result, the radio stack crash at 1%... that's happening from the first time i tryed Orange upgrade (some weird text appeard at Radio version in Sable_RUU, but i wasn't paying attention that time)...
anyway, you said you can help, just send a radio.nba made with aWizard and i'll try to put it into my 6915 to see if that works...
regards...

TNG, that's is NOT an english update, is the GERMAN ceos.nbf ver 1.47... is just a bad joke from someone with a weird sense of humour... thanks anyway...
Hi wikidorg,
I try this morning to read the radio rom out of my iPAQ but with no success.
I thing this awizard tools dont support this operation on iPAQs. What do you thing about that ? Sorry i will try to find another solution just give me some time.
Regards,
Drahtman
no problem, i was suspecting it won't work but i thought it worthed a try...
see, Drahtman, if we have a full CEOS.nbf (let's say the French version), 65.291kb, we have some tools to split the nbh into parts (nbhextract),tools to transform nbf to nbh, we could obtain separate extracts from the CEOS, including the os.nb which seems to be the same size with the English CEOS.nba from aWizard method... Then, if we could reverse the whole process, after switching the new generated os.nb with our English CEOS.nba, perhaps we could put togheter an English CEOS.nbf with the same size like the French CEOS.nbf and i could try to make it works with Sable_RUU... what about that?
Great idea !
This sounds good, but could you do that ? I read a lot on this forum but this is not so simple. If somebody could help on this project will be much easyer. Why all the people who needs this ENG rom dont do anything ? I was try this because of you and it worked out. Maybe, if i write down the exact procedure, somebody will try out this awizard hw6915 ENG upgrade. Please somebody report success story on this awizard ENG upgrade ! I was try this and it worked (with some little problems), but it worked ! I will write down this procedure in the future so anybody can upgrade his iPAQ to 1.21 UK ROM version. If somebody will have succes on this upgrade please let me know.
Best Regards,
Drahtman
there is an alternate method: using cert_spcs.cab and enablerapi.cab from aWizard and installing "wizard service tool" you have a GUI flasher for the same 1.21.00 UK ENGLISH nba... lot easyer, you can see flash progress "on the fly"... is tested by me and works 100%... DO NOT USE any other feature from "WIZARD SERVICE TOOL", unless you know what you do...
İpaq 6910 Change to language ok.....
Easy Change Hp6915 Language To Spanish, German, French, Danish... And Now English
Thansk Thanks Thanks Wikidorg
I have got a Ipaq 6910 German v1.45 roms but now Ipaq 6910 v1.21 English it's good it's very very .... good Thank you for all..
Anybody that have the Norwegian rom?
Da hadd æ blitt gla gitt ;-)
I went into the kitchen and just modded the official "HP iPAQ 610, 610c, 614, and 614c Business Navigators - English ROM Update VERSION: 1.01.04" so it works on all SKU's and all languages. This is a true RUU ROM 1.01.04 Kitchen that works on all SKUs.
Worked perfectly on my Norwegian ABN SKU 614c that would not accept the official HP RUU Update (and the shipped version is really buggy I think). It also changes the language to English and you cannot revert unless someone makes a ROM dump of the original language. The thing is, you can actually buy ABB versions of the 614C in Norway, and Norway is listed among ABB SKU ID's (it's listed as both ABB and ABN). So obviously it seems that Norwegian 614C's are fully compatible with the EU ROM revisions, but HP are being "customer unfriendly" with their upgrade and language options, possibly due to political or licensing reasons (anyone know why HP refuses to support OS ROM changes on the 614c?)
Ofcourse, I forgot to make a ROM dump of the Norwegian language OS before modding my phone (I am British, so I wanted English anyway), so maybe *YOU* can take a ROM dump for me? Then I can maybe make a real Norwegian RUU 1.01.04 ROM Update.
I could ofcourse make a Norwegian dump! If you just told me how to
exchange rom version
Hello ravenflt, I own a Dutch 614c so if you are interested I could send you a Dutch dump if you send me your "cooked" version
Anyone who wants to post a ROM dump of his of her Dutch HP Ipaq 614c?
Hi all,
I have an iPAQ 914c with original italian language version, and I prefer Engish, so I upgraded ROM-ENglish for it, Unfortunately, i did that with ROM of iPAQ 614c instead of iPAQ 914c, therefore it was bricked (I flashed ROM with DNW tool following recommendation :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459123 )
I would highly appreciate any suggestion
Rgds,
914 rom
you have a 914 ita version? you how to do a dump rom to pass to me, for me it would be a great thing.
I ask you because I'm trying to translate into Italian 614c of the Rom, and I would be very useful for files that are located inside the 914 rom.
please !!!!
