My problem is that X1 automatically tries to send e-mails every time I add an appointment with one or more attendees. I want to add those attendees, but not to send that e-mail.
For now I managed to select the "Outlook E-mail" account and it only saves the e-mail in the outbox.
Any other solution?

Hey,
I just set up my email account on my XDA II.
Little question about automaticly downloading emails.
On my spv e200 (also an HTC phone) I need to have my mailbox loaded before it download emails. What I mean with this: open the inbox and than go to the email tab (not sms).
Is this the same for the XDA II?
Or can my inbox be set on sms and the emails are still downloaded?
Cheers
when one set up ones mail account one have to choose if it should check mail every X minut and which connection it should use to do this so i asume very much that it'll still do it if you are in sms
Yes I did that
Just asking about the inbox.
Thanks for asking.
well i havent set that option on myself so i cant promise you anything but if it dont i would call it a bug
I have set 2 email account on my XDA2 or 1 (it s the same)
well if i programm my accounts to be checked every X mn i have to let the selector on the email account otherwise it wont connect and pop for my mails.
Of course it pop only the email account selected. so you can consider it is the same.
I can not automatically check for both of my mail accounts.
But if you let the selector on your email accout, you will also be notified for incoming SMS, whereas if you let the selector on the SMS account you will not be notified for any new incoming mail
not really a bug, but will be great from MS to correct thant in the next release

When I try to send a document by email I find that the message is sent to the sms outbox and NOT the email outbox. I have tried to move the message but this does not appear to be allowed. I have tried to find a setting that controls how messages are dealt with but have had no success.
I should be grateful if someone could help me overcome this problem.
Please note that I do not send emails via an account set up on my xda 11. I send emails via outlook when I synchronize.
Thanks

Have you gone to inbox and clicked "services" if you have set up your email it should appear there, if it appear then click so a dot appears next to it, if not then you need click "new service" and set up an email account with your pop3 etc.
Thanks for your advice, which would be fine if I sent emails from my PDA via a pop3 account, but I don't.
I send emails via Outlook which I connect to when I ActiveSync - and before anyone asks this is because I use my PDA for work and I am not allowed to log on to our exchange server other than through our network.
Consequently I do not have a pop3 account to connect to.
Does anyone have an idea how I can force the xda to send documents via the ActiveSync outbox rather than sms?
Hi,
I have my Gmail email forwarding to another POP email that is pulled down into my main email account on my PPC (Imate JasJar). What I'd like to do is set it up so that when I receive an email from someone who sent their message to my Gmail account I can send my response back to them showing a "from" address of my Gmail addy, not my POP addy.
I was able to do this on my Tmobile sidekick, I think by just setting up another email account that it never checked that had my normal POP settings but displayed a "from" address of my choosing. Then when composing a reply it allowed me to choose which addy I was using to send from.
I tried setting up a 2nd email account on my JasJar using my Gmail pop settings, but when I went to send an email from it also started to download 400-500 of my emails from my Gmail account.
There's got to be a way to do this, right?
Well, you could change the "outgoing mail" settings in your second pop account by choosing to use different outgoing settings, and entering your G-Mail settings.
That way you'd only have one pop account shown, which would receive mail from your second account only but send through your G-Mail account...
Hmm... That might work pretty out pretty well, I'm going to give it a test run today. Thanks fo the help.

I really need some help here.
I have a WM6 Moto Q9m. My challenge is with email, and notifications. First of all, I am using ActiveSync just fine with Exchange 2003 (soon to be 2007 ). I have configured a second email account for POP3 to a mailbox that I need to monitor 24x7. Here is what I can not figure out:
1. On the home screen (default vzw profile) I have the email shortcuts for each account to include "email (outlook)" SMS, MMS, and VMail. I do not have, nor can figure out how to get a shortcut for my POP3 mailbox. When I get a new email to my pop3 inbox, I get an audio notification, but I can not see at a glance how many items are unread in that pop3 mailbox like I can in the "Email" shortcut. In WM5, the pop3 mailbox would show on the home screen in addition to the default outlook mailobx.
2. I would really like to change the audio notification to be different for the pop3 mailbox, than the default outlook mailbox. As I am monitoring the pop3 mailbox 24x7, I would like to have a "pager" sound to differentiate the pop3 email notification from the default email notification.
I know there is someone that can shed some light here. I have searched the registry but can not figure these out! Thank You!
