Hi
I've got a Htc Touch HD from orange and maybe twice a day when I try to answer a call (either by sliding or pressing the hard button) the phone will freeze. It will still vibrate and ring but I have to do a soft reset to get it out of that state.
Nothing responds on the phone at all.
Sometimes it also cuts the other person off and doesn't crash, (so it looks like the other person hung up just before you answered it when they didn't)
Verrrry irratating! Esp when someone rings from withheld number!
Any ideas?
BTW, Making calls is fine no crashes, and experienced no other crashes on any other part of the phone except for this.
try downloading the patches from the HTC webby

Hi,
Recently I have noticed a problem with my XDA II. When an incoming call comes in the phone does nothing. No ring or incoming call message on the screen. If I call my phone from my land line it rings and rings and never even goes to voice mail! If I press the answer button while doing this, the XDA2 suddenly starts ringing for a second and then it goes to voice mail. The phone then reports I have missed a call. If I then press the answer button to make a call, the phone goes haywire and plays the "missed a call" sound 3 or 4 times and then flashes the led. If I clear the missed call report and press the answer button again it does the same thing again.
If I soft reset the phone it is ok again, but eventually this problem comes back again.
It has only recently started doing this. The first time I noticed the problem was when I was setting up a photo contact for the first time. I have since retored an old sprite backup from what I believe was before the problem started but I am still seeing the same issue. I tried disabling IA_Callerid process on boot and a few other processes (down to 16 processes) but this hasn't helped either.
The main apps I have running are :
SPB Pocket Plus
GPRS Monitor
Wizbar Advance
XCPUscalar
Resco Keyboard
PIEplus
Has anyone else seen this problem before or know what could be causing it? Its totally weird. O2 support didn't have a clue either. I really don't want to have to hard reset my phone and install everything again :?
Many thanks,
Richard.
Do uninstall Wisbar, and possibly try their latest beta' release.
I've got a Universal with all the default ROMs and whatnot. I also use SPB PocketPlus and vBar.
Recently, since I got a bluetooth earpiece (Motorola HS820) - though not when the earpiece is turned on/connected - my phone has started rejecting calls when I try and answer.
I normally have my phone closed (screen not showing). Since some bug stopped me from being able to talk on it whilst it is closed, I have been opening it so the screen shows (and the keyboard doesn't) before I press answer. However, now this rejecting problem has arisen. I get a call, I open my phone so the screen shows and then press the answer button on the spine. This stops the ringing, but the incoming call popup stays as though I haven't answered, the person doesn't hear me and I don't hear them, then I get a missed call notification.
This does not happen 100% of the time. So far I have only noticed it when I've been receiving calls from my mother. However, she's pretty much the only person who rings me
Anyone got any ideas as to what is causing this/how I can fix it?
Update: I've done a hard reset and it seems the button still isn't answering the call. It isn't rejecting the call, it just isn't answering it.
This phone is proving to be more trouble than it's worth...
Hey, I've been lurking these forums for a while but I thought I'd come on to ask a question. I tried asking on sprintmogul.net but they didn't really help.
I've had my mogul for a few months but lately it's been developing a really annoying problem. I'm really not sure where it started exactly so I can't blame any apps in particular. When I receive a call the caller ID / ring and vibrate go off perfectly - the problem happens when I try to answer the call. Generally one of three things happens:
1 - The call connects instantly and just works - this happens pretty rarely, I remember the last time it happened the person calling was also on Sprint, if that makes any difference.
2 - The phone will just sort of hang there for about 10 seconds, caller ID popup still there, the ring stops though. Eventually the popup disappears and I get a missed call notification, as if I never clicked the answer button. This is what usually happens.
3 - The phone hangs like in situation 2, but the call eventually connects. This only happens if I press answer almost immediately after the phone starts to ring.
I'm on winMo 6.1 with the latest radio and am not running any major mods or hacks, just a few reg edits. I'll probably try a hard reset soon but ideas on things to try would be appreciated!
I am seeing this also, on both my own xv6800 and my wife's. It's VERY annoying.
Hi all,
After a lot of work and a phone exchange I got cyanogenmod to work on my phone, but now when I want to call someone the phone gets stuck!
This is what happens:
When I turn the phone on and try to call someone I get the normal metallic voice, after that I hang up (as instructed in some thread in this forum), but when I try to dial again the phone freezes on the dialer. The odd thing is when I press the home key or red key it responds nicely, and all the other apps work fine! Also, when I receive a call after this; the phone will ring, but when I answer -- total silence, I can't here the person on the other line nor can they hear me!
What can this be????
Thanks!

Hi
since i use android for hd2 i have this strange problem with almost all version and it happen frequently on sense versions,
when the phone rings when i press answer i hear a parazit voice and after a while the phone app force close and the phone become unresponsive for one minute then it response normally except the phone app (dial etc) so i have to reboot the device to make it work again.
thank you
any answer?
I think you're facing the so called "robot voice".
To get ride of this, when you receive a call, put the speaker on and hand up to end the conversation. It should work normally for all call.
Try also to disable the tone sound while pressing numbers...
i will try to disable the dialpad tones thank you
