Interesting, thanks for the heads up!!
no problem now i face an issue
it seems the latest europr rom is still 1.14
the only 1.19 is the orange uk shipped which was what i had
two reason i want to not flash this
1. htc's 2nd splashscreen is a lot better looking that the orange uk one
2, orange remove goole maps and then advertise there own orange maps which is a payable subription thing
thanks for the info mate,
I've waiting on orange replacing mine today (they've got 35minutes left to meeting the deadline for 1PM!)
Doesnt bother me much though - standard rom was rubbish compared to Duttys stuff
can you tell me where bout you are in uk and then when you get it what rom its got?
just got mine - its got the 1.09.25.14 radio and 1.14 ROM same as what I got back in November when I originally bought it
is that a HTC rom when you boot it is the animated splash screen the orange swishes or the animated HTC logo
are you gonna reflash
im thinking i want a later version but i can only find the 1.19 Orange UK rom
is the a HTC 1.19

If you don't like the orange splashscreen, copy it and then put it into your new ROM once flashed
Duttys V2.1 ROM has google maps preinstalled and if a ROM doesn't you can always install it yourself.
I wouldn't let those 2 minor reasons be the reason why you don't flash to a superior ROM
no its not those im just not a fan of branded roms
especially has htc releases roms 6 months faster then the vener versions

hell no!!!!! I know what you mean about that stupid orange flash thingy!
My original one I bought back in December had the 1.14 ROM on it but none of this crap! Original one came with google maps installed, this one doesn't. This new one also has some stupid PV Player on it.
Just FYI - This new one has the following stuff:
ROM 1.19.61.1 WWE (previous rom was earlier)
Radio 1.09.25.14 (same as previous radio)
ROM Date 11/25/08 (obviously newer ROM date)
I'm sure the ROM I had before was early november so this is a new ROM, Loads of people have discussed it on this forum before jayjay so don't worry Basically the older ROM isn't Orange customised - The new ROM is - I aint worried though cus I'm gunna flash it when I get home - muhahahah.
Dutty's ROM's for the win for sure.
Been using Dutty's ROM's from 1.7 onwards - If you want a 100% performance and stability ROM go for Dutty's 1.7. If your after the newer Manilla (like I am) go for Duttys 2.1 (2.2 due out very soon!)
hope this helps mate.
it does also i basically wont use touchflo, i like it but itd only be used for showing
are you saying that the duttys 1.7 is the last touchflo based stable rom any after that is manilla 2
also wasnt there a time limit
i also was asking about dutty 2.1 being incomptible
so its either duttys 2.1 or orange 1.19
what d u reckon
its a shame there is nonew 1.19 HTC (if there is i cant find it)
Depends what you want.
I've stuck with the stock ROM (for now!) simply because I must have near 100% stability and its fast enough.
No disrespect to the chefs as they do sterling work but they are taking stuff from other phone ROMs and they are not designed for the blackstone.
So yes they are MUCH faster but inevitably a few bugs creep in - it then becomes a matter of seeing which bugs you can live with... and which you can't.

Duttys 1.9 had the time limit on it. I'd go with 2.1

I'm using my Uni on O2 but I still have the Orange ROM on it, because I had bought it off them. I've already flashed it to the 1.18 radio, and, since I'm getting a bit sick of the Orange splash screen, I thought I'd flash it to a more recent version of the ROM as well. Which is a good one in terms of speed, stability and battery life?
Try this both
Everyone likes something different. I have in the last 3 weeks every current ROM tried here.
My favorites are in English Tomal's Black Edition V8.0

... and ...
UNI G3 OS ROM 5.2.20270 (Build 20270.1.3.1) by minhanhtran (PDAVIET.COM)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412830
Tomal's looks very beautiful and has many programs in it.
I prefer clean as possible ROM, like that of Minhanhtran.
There you can install all programs individually.
Both run very stable and reliable. No problems with the battery.
Just try both. It is very interesting to find out the differences themselves.
If you have problems with the radio 1.18, then downgrade to 1.15
Sorry for my English

According to my experience I would recommend Tomal´s v7.6 with radio 1.15 or 1.08
Hope this helps
Good luck
Are all these ROMs for G3 or G4 devices? I think mine is G3 (the bootloader screen displays
Serial
v.1.00

so I assume that means it's G3.)
Recommendation Tomals v7.7 With Radio 1.15
My recommendation would be "Tomals v7.7" with radio 1.15. I had tried v8.0 and was very disappointed with it so I went back to v7.7. The v8.0 bluetooth not working properly, no Infrared and 1 or 2 other things which I cannot remember off hand. Once Tomal fixes v8.0 then v8.0 will be better than v7.7.
Try the Matrix WM5 Ultimate Final, everything works, even video call.
You may also want to try rDosti releases. It has lots of free memory
hey i was wondering if blackstone will get an offical upgrade to the new touchflo3d (diamond2 or touchpro2) frm htc when the 2 phone releases.
Thanks in advance
I don't think it's reasonable to hope such thing. When you look at the Diamond2 specs, it's nearly a cut'n'paste of the Blackstone's. Allowing an official upgrade to install TF3D2 on the HD would kill the Diamond2 — commercially speaking.
But if you want to get it anyway, you should try some cooked ROMs.
Exactly as clandestino_usr said. For HTC to issue this would kill off other devices by HTC. Rather annoying as Apple give out free upgrades to existing uers, why can't HTC follow suit!!!
You best bet is to use cooked roms. Once new phones come out with newer roms etc, its only a matter of time before a cooked version is available on xda developers. Just wait a while!
interested in this as well. have there been any releases that would allow this?
Yep, there are now several new cooked roms using the 1.56 rom as a base. the 1.56 rom are the roms used in the touch pro 2 and diamond 2 (inclusive of the new manilla/touch flow 3d) - My reccomendation: Dutty's V3 Ship!

hey cool. thanks man. i found a link to wwe 1.56 rom download at htcdriver.com -- couldn't find it when i did a search here in xda. thanks a lot for the help. am downloading now. by the way, i was looking at the dutty rom thread and website for a full list of features that the dutty rom contains, or maybe even a comparison of features side by side with the standard htc rom but couldn't find it --- is that posted anywhere?
does duttys do phone keypad with t9?
i read that somewhere and that put me off this rom
i went ahead and downloaded the dutty v3 ship anyway and yes it does have phone keypad with t9
Unfortunately HD does not have the hardware zoom slider. So we can't do any controlled zoom in the album using these cooked ROMs.
So there aren't any CAB installers present for installation of newer versions of TouchFlo?
I was using cooked ROMs for a while with 2.5 on it, but have went back to the Stock version for the sake of battery life. I'm not impressed by the version 1.3 on it, but I can't find any sort of CAB files for newer versions.
Hi all, I am new to rom cooking and this is the first rom I have ever made.
Thanks Bobsbbq for the tips.
What I have done: changed the htc english IME to htc CHT IME, taken from stock HKCSL rom. Other things stay the same.
Here is the link: Click here
To install, follow the instructions here
Known Issues:
1. For some reasons the items in the start menu do not go into the right folder like in the tmous stock rom
2. After like an hour of playing it seems like with the CHT support the phone runs less smooth
It's a bit little too late as I already have LostInAsia ROM installed. It works OK so far, but I lost ALL branding.
Yes I was thinking if I am a little late as well
But then what I really wanted is the stock Tmous rom and the CHT support and that's all. I actually tried the LIA rom it's good but don't really like the fancy graphics.
Anyway what do you mean by losing all branding? In LIA rom or my rom? This is my first time cooking so I really want some feed back to help improve my cooking skills.

LIA though I can add them back individually.
I also want to learn how to cook ROM.

He means he lost all of the TMOUS branding. Which to each his own but for me that would be a good thing

Hi, I like your rom, but do you put other Chinese input come from Taiwan HTC rom for HD2 that would be great. I don't like too fancy so the default one is which I like used. I can found only one Chinese input from you rom, otherwise it is great for me.
@makino, This is quite a nice rom, good job cooking it from the HK version. However i was wondering if there is any way to cook the rom to full CHT instead of WWE?

Thanks for posting the ROM. But the thing is that I can't download from depositefiles ... I think it's the country block or something. Is there a mirror download site? Thanks again.
I think I need to learn how to cook ROM to add CHT support on my own; in addition, I also have to know how to flash offical ROM without flashing radio, so is it possible to flash offical ROM from Hong Kong version without radio?

Hi, thanks for the amazing work. What I want to know is. Is it possible for you to make a separate .cab file for the CHT menus? I have Josh's T-Mobile test rom flashed on my HD2 and want to keep using it, so a stand alone CHT menu pack would be ideal.
Thanks!

check out the stickies at the top of the dev forum... you will need to flash a stock ROM from SD card. this will overwrite ROM and HSPL.
Just read before you do anything so you know what is happening and how to do it.
I got my HTC HD2 yesterday and i now know what love feels like.
My question is what is the latest radio's and roms for o2?
My handset is currently running rom 1.43.206.4 and radio version 2.04.50.22_2
Any advise will be greatly appriciated.
there are no updates for o2 yet.
I can highly recommend hspl2 your phone and install the wwe 1.66 rom.
(read the stickies in the rom development section)
there was supposed to be a new rom coming at the end march but nothing happened. i was told by a customer services guy that there were problems with the rom and it had been delayed.
unfortunately the version you currently have is the latest, for o2 UK any way.
why dont you flash another ROM theyr miles better, plus the o2 stock rom is floating about in the rom dev area so you can reflash if incase you return your phone!
Thanks for the tips guys. I will hspl2 it soon, ive got enough experiance from doing my xperia every other day lol. Which radio version is the best to use?
I've not really noticed much difference across the radios, im on 2.07.50 at the mo, in west yorks, and ive used the 2.08 one too. The only one i noticed a difference with was 2.09 but i use a 576 rom which it doesnt work with, so i only used it for a day.
Thanks. Last question, what is the diffrence between 576 roms etc? This is what has left me scatching my head.
I'd recommend radio 2.09 which I'm on, it's the best so far I've found and I've used all of them on my O2 HD2. I'm based in the Buckinghamshire area and it does me well round here.

the leo we all have (not tmous) have 576 meg of ram, but for whatever reason htc decided to hide 128 meg.
the leaked tmous roms a few months ago unlocked that ram, so now, if you flash a rom based on the 2.10 roms and a matching radio you will get 576 meg ram.
to be honest the ram rarely gets fully utilized anyway, don't base your choice of rom on it. (and you can't get it on official roms like the 1.66)
Hi guys,
Right Ive had my HD2 since the start of the year and due to time/commitments ive not really done a lot with it, now quite simply I have a few applications which I use a fair bit, namely CoPilot ... anyhow Ive seen there is an update on the HTC website to ROM 1.72.206.3 and was looking at starting a fresh with this ROM.
Now before I go ahead and do this, is there a better ROM/Radio combo? my current specs are ...
OS - 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
Manila - 2.5.19202525.0
ROM - 1.43.206.4 (70315) WWE
ROMD - 11/06/2009
Radio - 2.04.50.22_2
Protocol - 15.26.50.07U
Currently on a contract with O2 UK ... so really what Im after, if this was your phone what steps would you do? e.g. ROM, Radio and any must do enhancements/installs
Cheers
Mike
Hi Mike,
I have an O2 phone and it also came with 1.43 ROM. I tried the latest 1.72 ROM, it was a bit better but I think half of this is the imagination/expectation that is should be, rather than actually being so (though there are two or three 'genuine' fixes there too).
I have been mostly recommending this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612580
It made such a big difference I stopped looking at radio versions and registry tweaks. The S2U2 lock app is quite useful though, once you've customised its settings as desired.
I installed it using SSPL method BTW.
Have you got any issues that make you think "I'm going to bin this thing if it happens again"?
I've not bothered with the upgrade as if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Before anyone *****es, the only issue that is apparent on my device, the SMS lagging, isn't exactly an issue to me. I see it more as a reminder to clear the crap out of the inbox!
