Hi, does anyone have the drivers for the shift that are not available on HTC's website???
mianly the Sonix USB Webcam...
i updated with Windows Update and it 'broke' the drive...funnily enough it also happens on hp and asus laptops...
anyway i need that driver if anyone has one...cheers
Why don't you update the driver that not recognized by device manager. Access the internet and update may it works. Good luck
Roll the driver back to the previous version, via the device manager.
oll back was a good idea but too late now as i dleted the edvice and ticket the 'delete drivers' option too.
so yeah back to my original question....
does anyone have the sonix camera drivers???
Ooooops , I've not noticed that you made updating for your driver by device manager. Any way, I've took a packup for my drivers of my shift using Driver Magician. May it helps you I hope

Shift cam driver missing
After uninstalling Dorgem, my HTC Shift's webcam driver seems to have disappeared. Windows update is not picking anything up to replace it.
Under my Device Driver, the only entry under "Sound, video and game controllers" is "High Definition Audio Device".
I didn't recognise any of the HTC drivers as being for the Shifts' camera.
Can anyone identify for me what driver I need for the cam, and possibly where I can download it?
I up this thread for a similar problem: my shift webcam disappeared from my hardware list, it's simply no more present or recognised in my hardware list, even if i attempt to detect it as new hardware.
tried almost anything, any clue?
My web-cam started to disappear since I installed an xp compatible logitech software for a cordless keyboard and mouse. A couple of days ago, I upgraded the Win7 beta I had for a Pro version and even though I decided not to install that logitech software, I still get the same problem, the webcam is gone and I have to chat without the video feature...
Therefore, the only solution I have come to discover for now, is to completely turn off the device and disconnect all devices hooked to it either by the usb or vga port.
Once everything is disconnected, I would turn on the device and start win7 normally and voila, my webcam is back again and I can reconnect every device until I restart the system and need the webcam again, having to do the same process again and again...
the drvers for shift are still
the drivers for shift are still their on htc site the reason why you cant find it they took it off on certain regions try europe or other you willl find it

Hi all,
Just got myself an 02 Exec and so far am pretty pleased with the device.
I've just bought it in to work with me expecting to be able to sync without issue although I need a driver
My disc is at home, and I really wanna get synced today. I've searched for the driver without success, can anyone grab the required file off their disk for me? would be much appreciated!
HI,
the driver is not all you need, as a WM2K5 device, it will only sync with active sync 4.x. So .. just download AS4 .. and sync ;-)
- Superbowl
You need Active Sync 4.0 not a driver.
Thanks for the replies peeps, however I don't think this is the case.
I have AS 4.0 with me although it's when I first plug in my Exec that it asks me to install this driver.
With AS 4.0 installed it just can;t find my device, the same happened to me at home. I just went into device manager and browsed the offending hardware to the CD where it installed the driver and then AS 4.0 could see my Exec.
Any ideas as to where I can find this driver?
Do you have full admin rights to the PC?
I am on a locked down one where I can't change anything.
Before I got the tech dudes to install AS, the PC kept asking for drivers.
Can't say much more, that's just what happened to me.
I think the message was 'installing windows mobile device...' and then wanting the driver.
Hi mate,
Yeah sure I have full admin rights. I'm really don't think AS4.0 will solve this as like I say the same happened at home until I installed this driver from the applications CD that came with my Exec.
Anymore ideas?
Try it on a different USB port.
I see this happen with a lot of devices. Plug it in one port, Windows doesn't recognize. Plug it to the next one, and it works.
i have to turn me JJ off for 5 secs, then plug into usb and its fine, if i do it when its on i get a malfunctioning usb device pop on my pc
I`m having similare problems....
Full Admin rights
Windows XP SP2
AV4.0 installed
But keep getting "not Connected" whenever I hover over the AV4 icon.
and I have checked that my AV4 on my Exec has "Synchronize all PCs using this connection".
After reinstalling a few times.
Am very stuck....
check this out....

Many many thanks...
Seem like I need to spend a little more time on the MS Windows Mobile site.
Thanks for the help chaps.
Seems AFTER installing AS 4.0 I then went to device manager and clicked the offending hardware after which it installed the driver.
Thanks for the help
Got my HD in today and for some reason, I'm having a hell of a time setting up windows mobile device center.
When I install the software and plug in the HD, my laptop immediately tries to install the new hardware's driver.
It ends up installing something called "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter #5"
What is that? When I used to install the diamond, it would install the correct driver and when device center would load up, a picture of a diamond would show up.
Now, I get a generic phone.
Am I missing something?
Thanks guys,
Mark
Just a heads up so the mods can lock or delete this thread. It turns out that it's just a bad USB port.
I've got 3 ports on my laptop and the rest work fine. Doesn't matter what device I use, same problems.
That's wierd, just never had that happen before.
Mark
Anyone else having these.
It worked only once for me.
I'll plug in my Evo then windows will detect and ATB device and the it will disappear and I dont know where.
The SDCARD will show for a secord or two and then disappear. Anyone else having this issue?
Having the same issues. Will show up, then disappear. Haven't been able to figure out a fix yet.
HTC Sync Update for EVO 4G (Sprint) (2.0.35) | 06.04.2010
http://member.america.htc.com/download/Driver/HTC EVO (Sprint)/HTCSync2.0.35.exe
Please try installing the lastest version of HTC Sync which will inclue the latest drivers for Windows 7 x64.
Already have that downloaded and still getting the appear/disappear issue
Working fine here. Win 7 Ult x64. Evo is auto-detected everytime i plug in... wish i had more info and could help.
yea everything is great on my 64bit Windows 7 Ult... uninstall and reinstall the usb root hubs..?
Everything is working fine here too on my end. No issues connecting the Evo to my Windows 7 x64 system.
I can mount fine, but can't flash RUUs or get HTC sync to actually recognize the phone
With the Hero, Windows 7 x64 would always install the wrong drivers and cause the exact issues described.
Go into Device Manager, find the EVO, and click update driver. Then manually find the driver by going to the HTC Sync directory and installing the Windows 7 x64 drivers. That is what works for the Hero, and it says My HTC in device manager when installed correctly.
Mine works fine. Though it is the first day. We'll see.

Yeah the problem with me its that the device disappears from device manager. It wont display at all. It will display briefly as some sort WPD Device and then it will disappear.
I have tried installing the latest HTC Sync software and reinstalling everysingle usb device to no avail.
When I am able to catch the wpd device I trying updating the drive but it doesnt like the HTC windows 7 x64 drivers. It says theyre not 64bit compatible.
For the people having problems...Are you plugging the device into a USB hub or is this straight into your PC/Laptop port? If it is a hub, is it a "powered" hub or one that draws it's power straight from the bus? If it is directly into the machine, what type of machine is it (HP, Dell, custom, etc.)? If it is custom build...what type of motherboard are you using (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, etc)? (I ask this because some companies implement USB slightly differently and it can cause issues in some configurations)
Secondly, if this is straight into the machine, what other devices are plugged into the same internal connection (keyboard, mouse, scanner, printer, etc.). If the USB ports are in close proximity, it's a good bet they all run off the same internal connector. If only a keyboard and mouse share the connector...what type of keyboard (logitech with LCD, etc). Some keyboard and mouse combinations are high power draws and can overload the internal hub. This would make your phone connect for an instant and disconnect (overload state), since the phohe actually starts to pull power to charge, regardless if you're using it as a disk drive or sync.
All of that info will help us to troubleshoot with you.
Thanks!
Possible fix
I was having the same problems as many of you. I'm using Win 7 64, had the latest version of HTC Sync and the thing just wasn't finding my phone. The only thing that would work was if I restarted my computer and plugged it in. It found my phone right away and loaded up the HTC Sync just fine.
Only problem is, it only works that one time after a reboot of my computer. If I wanted to re-sync again, I would have to restart my computer.
It's an ugly fix, but for those of you that haven't had any luck syncing, this may be your best bet.
Mine with W7 x64 will mount fine every time but if I try to pick internet sharing, it never works. The only thing that pops up is an 'android phone' entry with a yellow triangle exclamation point under 'other devices' in device manager. I've got htc sync installed, and in fact I can use ADB fine... but I can't get normal usb internet tethering to work at all.
yeah its weird...i took my phone to a work machine that has windows 7 32bit and it worked fine on that machine... now i plugged it into my own machine and now my machine is picking it up
Look under device manager and you will see adb device unknown. Install driver and it will change to htc device.

My Dell Venue Pro refuses to connect with my PC or the Zune software. My pc is unable to find the correct drivers. Oddly, in the device manager, my dvp shows up as four different unknown devices. I have been through every level of Zune support on the phone and even received the correct drivers via remote access (that thing where they take over your pc, I forgot the correct term). Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
Also, has anyone received a defect free Venue Pro?
sounds like the DVP is in Composite Mode when it should be in Zune mode.
start the EM diagnostic app by dialing ##634#, and go to Service Center. Switch to Zune mode and reboot. should fix it for you.
This won't void my warranty will it?

please someone help i love this phone and wp7 but this inability to connect to zune is a big problem
Here is my post detailing the same.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025341
But, why do u need that to get to zune?
Thanks but that hasnt worked either i am now at a loss as what to do ....
I have tried the following...
different usb ports
different cable
uninstalled zune *3 !!
hard reset phone
checked dvp in zune mode
deleted certificates
device manager wont recognise device so cant re-install driver its just not there?????
Please someone help!!!
Can u try connecting on a different PC with Win 7 or Vista?
All my efforts have been in getting it to work on our desktop Vista 32bit i have tried our laptop as well no joy, vista as well
Anything new on this front? I cannot connect to a new laptop I purchased. It works great on my previous machine, running the same OS - 64bit WIN7. Any ideas?
The DVP seems to be especially sensitive to the USB port. On my PC it won't sync from front-panel ports but it will sync from rear ones. I suspect it is a power issue.
solution
i had same problem (worked on old PC had problems wih new).
after looking my my processes and servisesc i found this "zune windows mob..."
restarded it woth connected phone and it worked
press thanks if i worked for you
Found a kb on microsofts site...had to delete the security certificate.
Sent from my LG-V909 using XDA App
This worked for me:
Goto Device Manager, Portable Devices, and then click on the Unknown Device, then click on the Update Driver Software icon at the top of the page. Thank me Later!

Well, my DVP has no problems so far...I mean, I haven't experience the other problems that other DVP users seem to be having...dunno, maybe I'm just lucky...
DVP date of manufacture: 06/27/2011
Hi all - so I got a Cube Mix Plus a week ago. For security I wanted a clean install of windows so after backing up all the drivers etc I have installed a fresh copy. However I suddenly had a problem with touch (I2C HID driver) not working - it works throughout the installation process and when first booted into windows but failed once I have started restoring/updating missing drivers.
After several re installations online and offline (to stop driver update) and selective restoring of the backed up drivers it seems like the problem is linked to the bluetooth driver - if I disable bluetooth in Device Manager and restart touch comes back. same if i uninstall the driver (but after a little bit online windows restores it and after restart touch disappear again)... I have tried newest bluetooth driver from intel and the backed up ones etc...
obviously I need both to work together... any ideas for fixing it
UPDATE: managed to narrow down the issue after few re installations of windows and selective driver updating. It looks like the touch problem has something to do with the bluetooth driver. if i uninstall the intel bluetooth driver and restart touch comes back, if windows reload the driver touch driver fails again after restart
UPDATE 2: after spending all weekend trying to sort this out I think I have found the real issue. at one point I have reverted back to the backed up image of the original windows installation only to find out that I also had the problem there now… so after some more messing around I have found out that the issue only arise when I have too many peripherals connected to my USB 3 HUB.
Basically I have a 4 port USB 3 HUB connected to the USB 3 port on the tablet. To reinstall windows I have connected a keyboard, wireless mouse, external 2.5HD for data and drivers and a windows USB key for installation media. It seems that the touch fails to load when I had the keyboard, mouse and HD connected at start up – without the HD and everything was fine, without the mouse and everything was fine… I can connect them all fine AFTER windows start but not while booting…
Have no idea what is exactly going on… can only guess it could do with power draw of the peripherals or loading their drivers. In any case while I dont have a solution at least I have a workable setup as I dont need the HD connected all the time. Going to buy a USB c hub and see if it is better…
Windows 10 Update
I hate Windows 10 Update everytime I put my PC to on update it takes up to 3 days and the update is like ****. My laptop got slow since I updated last time.
