Hi, i would recommend for you ONYX 4.2.1 Ultimate. Look for it in ELF(in) section where you'll find all info you need.

Can you install any ROM?

I want to try out other ROMS and was wondering can i install any ROM?
I have ran lockiwiz and unlocked my phone and cid.
Please can you advise me if this is ok?
thanks
Yes, assuming you have unlocked the phone and the ROM is for a HTC Wizard (or re-badged as a carrier brand, eg o2-mini-S) you will have no problems

what does it mean to CID unlock?

I just got my 8125, and i upgraded to the aku 2.2 rom and then i couldnt run any new programs for some reason, so i downgraded, and ran the lokiwiz/unlock tool, and then upgraded to the aku 2.2 rom again. and now im waiting for it to finish setting up. is that the correct way to usually do these upgrades? thanks for the help!
CID unlock is what allows you to install unsigned apps, as well as downgrade your ROM and use other vendor's ROMs.
thanks!
CID Unlock
Can you please tell me where you found / downloaded the CID unlock software?
Thank you.

I recommend using lokiwiz 0.2b for CID unlocking. It's in the first post of this thread. However in order to use it, you must be using an AKU 1.x ROM. If you have already upgraded to AKU 2 then use the instructions here. However, if you have upgraded to an AKU 2.2 or greater ROM then there is currently no known way to CID unlock your phone. I hope this helps you a bit ^_^
I'm currently on Summiter's custom ROM 2.17.7.2 and assumed upgrading to this ROM confirmed that my device was CID unlocked.. I guess this is not the case, but will I be able to follow the instructions in the post above without issues because I am still below 2.2?
do you guys know what rom/aku/cid/whatever the cingular 8125 comes with? i'm going to buy one off ebay and am worried it'll be the latest craziest thing that loki wont be able to unlock. although i've read a lot of "it worked on my 8125" posts.
CIDunlock or Unlock or Both?
Hi People,
I've used the lokiwiz to unlock my phone. But the most important question is what is the difference between the options.
I first used the C to superCID my phone. Guess that worked.
After that also did a Unlock worked fine as well.
But what is the difference between Unlock and CID unlock?
is unlock for the SIMlock and cid unlock for other rom upgrades?
Is the CID unlock sufficient to CID unlock and Simunlock my Vario?
Menu looks like this:
--------------------
U. Unlock
L. Lock
C. CID Unlock (SuperCID)
Q. Quit
--------------------
Type the letter and press Enter: U
Thanks in advance.

how to put back CID lock

Hi everyone,
I have an mda vario which has to be send in for waranty, so i want to put back my CID lock. How do I do this. I have the cid backup file.
grt,
Ruben
You can restore cid by restoring the lock_backup.bin file that was created during the unlock process.
to do that see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...postorder=asc&highlight=cid+locking&start=400
look for britman's post.
ok but i now have tmobile aku 2 rom flashed, is this a problem? or can i put the cid back even with the aku2 rom?
i think you would need to downgrade as lokiwiz CID only works with v1 ROMs, and not v2.
will this rom do the trick?1030710_110_10410_Qtek_NLD_Ship
And how do i then upgrade from the qtek rom to the new aku2 tmobile rom. Beceause then i have my CID back in the machine. So it won't allow me to update from qtek to tmobile.
grt,
Ruben
Need to upgrade to the stock t-mobile rom ftp://xda:[email protected]developers.co...RUU_Prodigy_1060204_105_11210_TMO_UK_Ship.exe
first and then cid lock and then upgrade to aku2 rom. (if you have already locked it you will need to unlock again)
But surely it did not come with aku2 rom when you bought it as it is only just released.
I did above steps, but it only put back the simlock, not cid lock beceause i could update to qtek without problems so i gues cid was not put back
Just some experience. I sent my unit back to HTC Europe without CID-lock, and it went through without problems.

Brand New Cingular 8125 unlock Issues

Just came from the Cingular store. Got an exchange for the messed up on I already had.......... Can anyone tell me how to CID unlock and SIM unlock my phone...
It must be a new one becuase it reads as follows:
ROM version: 2.25.11.1 WWE
ROM date: 5/11/06
RAdio version: 02.25.11
Protocol version 4.1.13.12
ExtRom version: 2.25.11.102
will the normal unlock that is in the custom roms work for my phone???
"try it"
try what
tray what
i got it sim unlocked but how do i do the CID unlock
No - you can only SIM unlock, you can't CID unlock using the free programs available here. (It's possible you can CID unlock from a third-party website that charges for it...I think it's http://www.imei-check.co.uk)
I flashed my 8125 to 2.25 before realizing I needed to CID unlock it first. Fortunately most of my tweaks don't require custom ROMs. I'm sure eventually they will get Lokiwiz to work with the newer ROMs as well.
Uh-oh!! :|
I'm getting an 8125 at the end of this week.......so, if it is has the new ROM on it, then I can't put one of Summiters ROM's on it??
I sure hope not.....
I have an 8125. I lokiwiz unlocked it in software thinking that I needed to unlock it to upgrade from the original to 2.17.
Then I recently upgraded to 2.25 using the official Cingular ROM upgrade download. I am using the phone fine, except that I do not have push email present on it.
How did I upgrade without SIM or CID unlocking it? Why does it say in this thread that I would need to unlock the phone to change the ROM?
Update
This is what I see when I turn the phone on:
IPL 2.25.0001
SPL 2.25.0001
GSM 02.25.11
OS 2.25.11.1
Does this make a differnece. When I swapped out my old one in the store they gave me this one and the guy at Cinglar told me it was a brand new one. I saw him get it out the store and on the box the manufacture date was this month June 2006... I have anohter 8125 that I purchased in April and I notice that the flash chips are differnt. How can I load Summiter's new ROM onto this new 8125 has anyone had any luck. I used Lockwiz from this site and it did do the SIM unlock but I can't tell if it did the CID unlock. Can this unit be CID unlocked. I don't want to fry my phone.
interesting that i just got one overnighted to me with the v1.8, i can only speak from my experience so take it for what it's worth, i had the original, i upgraded to the 2.25, and then i was thinking oops i should have cid/sim unlocked my phone, so then what did i do? i used the ship rom download on this site to reset the phone to v1.8 it changed everything back, then i simply ran the lokiwiz02b i believe it was and cid and sim unlocked the phone, and to test i ran an imate kjam ROM just to make sure i actually did it and it worked, sure enough kjam splash screen and poof i was good to go, and then i just updated to summiters rom and voila there you go.
i would expect you could do the same. just use the cingular ship rom v1.8 to go back and then do what i did, i couldnt imagine different results since i just did this last week.
I don't think you can downgrade a phone with the new flash chip (G4 - Rom numbers ending in .0001) because the 1.x Roms don't have IPL/SPL for G4 Chips.
upgrade
Hey if that is the case how will they do this. When they release a new rom won't it be available on Cingualr;s site. So there has to be some way to do it. Cingular wouldn't want to confuse the customers. In any event should I just return the phone and hope I get lucky to get one without the new flash chip. Like I said before the phone is SIM unlcoked I am trying ott to get it CID unlocked so that I can use summiter's latest rom
www.imei-check.uk.co claims they can CID unlock it for you.
The trick to changing the Rom would be to not flash the booloader, Summiter has a new multi-installer thingy that will allow you to flash everything except the Bootloader (but you will need to dump the $38.00 for CID unlock).
Or you could report speradic touchscreen problems and do a warranty replacement by calling customer service. See if they send you a G3 phone (which they probably will).

Can I flash a cooked ROM, I just unlocked my HD2

Well I just unlocked my HD2 locked to T-Mobile via a ebay unlock code..!!!
Well I know the procedure of flashing I mean all the HSPL & all..!!!
Only thing I wanna know is that can I flash a cooked ROM now..???
I don't wanna get the SIM & phone locked, so please help me..!!!
Once your SIM is unlocked, it's unlocked. Flashing a ROM or updating SPL will not change this, so go for it. Flash away!
