I'm looking for a way to stop gprs/3G data transfers when I press the power button and switch off my Touch HD.
I've searched the forums but can't find any solution.
Thanks

I have just installed the new I-mate ROM update; all is fine except the GPRS Disconnect button had disappeared.
The GPRS Disconnect function was present on the latest T-Mobile UK ROM
Anybody know a regedit to provide this function?
Thanks.
in "HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone" create new dword value "Flags2". set it to bin value of 8.
Thanks, Perfect!!
However, I could only set a Dec value of 8; it works so who’s complaining?
Isn't that button now found in Comms Manager? Or is that the button you are talking about?
No I don’t think so, the new button in comm manager appears to be a function to turn the phone off and put it into flight mode.
I required a Disconnection button when connected via GPRS to kill the connection.

You have such a function in the new connection manager. The button with phone symbol and two arrows. When connected you can press that to disconnect GPRS
ooohhh. ok, its the device symbol that states ' Stop Data Service' when pressed.
Well I got two ways of disconnecting now....Thanks.
End Call button disconnects GPRS?
Hi everyone, I used SKTools recently to clean up my Cingular 8125. Now, whenever I hit the endcall button, it disconnects my connection to the Cingular network. I use the endcall button frequently to close screens/apps in one handed mode.
I used to have to hold the button down for a few seconds to disconnect me from the network. now whenever I tap it, it disconnects me from edge network.
Any way to change it back to the original setting?
Also, is there any way to have my 8125 CONSTANTLY connected? My spb weather never updates every hour like its supposed to. I think because spb weather does not wake the connection if its off.
Thanks, Jeff
same problem here, anyone have a solution for this? maybe its in the settings but i can't seem to find it?
I also want my phone to allways be connected to gprs..to use AIM and stuff..but it seems almost impossible to do so because it disconnects after every phonecall or after a few hours of being on..ANNOYING!
can anyone help with this situation?

Click to collapse
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone
Flags2
try set Flags2=0
or delete (value not key!!!) it
you also can use [...] button in SKTools tweaks section for restore this to default
Thank you, that did something. However It reconnects if i close the connection, but it still disconnects me after a while when I am connected to AIM service. Any suggestions?

Press and hold the "end call" button (the red button), after 5 seconds it will disconnect GPRS.
Hold the RED button for more than 5 second, it should normaly disconnect you. You can also use the third button in the com manager.
alrite thnx alot that was easy lol. i will try that. thanks again
Hi Guys,
All I want is when I close my Explorer the Internet connection will turn off too, And not do it manually through the comm manager
Does anyone find a way?
Alon
you can hold the red botton to close connection
go to settings-system-long press end kay
i dont think there is another way (maybe by regester)
Hi,
You can always put a timeout on the data connection as explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1248449&postcount=7
Works good enough for me.
Hi all,
I know it is possible to assign the Panel button to the Comm Manager for easy access but is it possible to just make the Panel button to turn on/off the data connection or other connections (bluetooth, wifi etc..)?
It would be nice so that if I finish using my data, i can just hit the Panel button to turn off the data connection (3g) and thus save battery. I know in Advanced Config, i can turn off after x amount of minutes but it doesn't really work the way i want it to. It just turns off automatically after exiting Opera Mobile. The "x amount of minutes" doesn't really work.
Thanks
Active data connection does not drain your battery when no data is transferred. This is what someone stated here, and since that I leave my data connection on, and hey - he's right. Give it a try.
