Best FREE Gtalk Client - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Can anyone suggest a good (and free) GTalk client ? I have tried Talkonaut and IM+ but I have had stability problems with both.
Thanks

Fring is pretty good.

OctroTalk and BeejiveIM are also good.

I like Palringo

PIGEON! is a good alternative. It's an ICQ/Jabber client that supports GTalk as well. It has a lot of customization options. In past experiences it has ran quite well for myself and a friend.

use skype
Use Skype itsfree

I think Nimbuzz is the best.
Nimbuzz is in 1 in All concept.
Nimbuzz Mobile lets you call, chat, message, and send files on the go, for free.
It combines all your buddies:
Skype,
MSN,
Yahoo,
ICQ,
AIM,
Google Talk
and more.
One login, one contact list, all accounts.
It's light and there is also a PC version available.

Good call. This would have been my second suggestion for him. Nimbuzz brings to Windows Mobile what Trillian brought to Windows on the PC (when it was first released).

Forgive my idiocy, but was Agile at some point "free"? And when did it become not free?
agile was free for ages, they called it a trial but it never expired.
noticed it wasnt about 6 months ago or so i guess they decided to start trying to charge people for it.
also try http://www.ebuddy.com/ which is a web based messenger app allows MSN and yahoo on most wap enabled mobiles.
i still prefer IM+ but thats not free.

Search For Slicks Im
I think this is a good program to try
EQO Mobile. It's a messaging app that lets you connect with aim, msn, gmail, and I think yahoo. It's free, and it looks pretty nice. Again, it's called "EQO"
I've been using palringo and it plugs into 6 IMs, including msn, yahoo, aim and google
nice interface too.
Also does voice and picture sending
IM+ is a good application as it has all the usual suspects including MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, etc etc, and it works on WM5, WM6 & WM6.1
Last time i checked palringo isn't freeware.

I was curious about a couple of the programs in this thread, so I started looking, but haven't installed yet. I was also wondering if palringo was free. I hit their faq website and found:
How Much Does Palringo Cost?
Palringo is free and will remain free for non commercial users.
Commercial users may be interested in the benefits of an Enterprise account. See here for more information.
Palringo connects through the internet so if you pay for data usage, such as on a mobile phone, check with your network operator for pricing information.

But it looks like you have to sign up on their website http://forum.palringo.com/faq.php?faq=gettingstarted#faq_gettingstarted_signup
I might have to try it to see how it goes.

I loaded palringo, and it does seem very cool. I like it better than slick. And it has some features that look really cool. Like, groups with group chat and voice messaging. Now I just need to get some buddies to load it up on their windows mobile and blackberry phones so we can give it a good workout.
People
Palringo FTW!!

Messenger application

I know there was an old thread on here but I could not find it, so, forgive me to ask again:
What is the best Messenger application for WM5 / WM6?
I love the look and work of AGILE MESSENGER but the price is way too high for a program like this! Also: users get routed through their own servers to 'validate' the lisence. This causes time delay and additional data trafic each time you connect and in a long run you pay more than you would have to if you pay per data volume.
It would be great to find a program what does at least the main 4: AOL, ICQ, MSN, YAHOO. What do you guys use?
You could try Octrotalk.
Useful info here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323654
you can try look for IM+.
this messenger can connect to msn, yahoo, google, jabber, etc...
if i'm not mistaken they also have a version which can connect to skype. but i'm not sure with this.
fring does all of them with the exceptio of Yahoo. Very light weight and supports voice on all. www.fring.com
im using im+ i can send it to you just PM for me

looking for instant messaging software

im looking for some kind of instant messaging software that can be used with wifi instead of the networks... is there some crack to at&t's oz, or is there some software someone can recommend?
Fring is free
Don't ask for cracks in this forum...
Fring is cool, as is Palringo - both are free.
But I prefer, for now, Agile Messenger, and there is also the famous IM+, both being commercial apps.
Hi !
You can also have a look on OctroTalk, beta free for now,
or on EQO, free
All of them can be used over Wi-Fi...

But the Fring site doesnt officially support any WVGA devices yet.
Has anyone tried running Fring on 480*800?
Try Nimbuzz, I use it, it has Skype integrated also.
www.nimbuzz.com
or directly from phone m.nimmbuzz.com and it's free
fring 480x800
I downloaded the fring CAB for the xperia for my diamond 2.
Installation was easy and fast.
Works fine with 480x800. No problems yet.
You can try also slick. It's alpha, crashes sometimes, but works.

This seems to be good. I have just installed the Fring... and will try this in a day or two. Looks like free, similar to Fring.
I think I need to choose between Fring and Nimbuzz
PS: Done some google for reviews of these two, and seen Nimbuzz is good
Thanks for the tips in this topic. Nimbuzz is working great indeed! I had been using Fring, but it doesn't work anymore with the latest Leo ROMs.
Nimbuzz is the BEST
Hi All,
I have been using Nimbuzz and found this to be the BEST with all IMs integrated for Chat and Voice Calls too .
Thanks.
Try Palringo. Integrated with Facebook, msn, yahoo, gmail. PTT (Push to Talk) also.
Since I have a wap plan I use ebuddy because it is the only instant messenger that works with this type of connection. eBuddy also connects to MSN, Skype, etc.

try beejive messenger it support every instant messenger service except facebook instant...i think this is one of the best instant messenger out there for window mobile phone
cool thanks. eBuddy seems cool. haven't used it, but will update later.
Palringo
IMHO Palringo is the best multi-messenger application. It supports Voice and photo sharing as well. I use it on the desktop and my mobile. There are also groups that you can join. There are several smartphone groups like XDA, smartphone, HTC, Windows Mobile, etc..
You should definately check it out.
+1 for Palringo. Small on the ram usage, connects to everything, works great.
Palringo is good. Have tried the other but it is the best for my use. Too bad it does not have Skype yet
palringo is hands down the best out there. and they're very receptive to feature requests and feedback.
