i've installed the java apps from the cabs from the xplode's.. some how, after succeeded to install opera mini and open the internet, it just stopped, it says error and suddenly the gprs connection also stopped.
feel dissapointed, I just close the opera mini using x button. but it doesn't close the program.
dissapointed, finally using the memaid apps to close it, no luck, it still work in the process view, try to terminate it, no luck, damn it.. then quickly hit the reset button.
guys, any suggestion?
does it anything to do with the opera mini? (its compatibility?)
you can try difrend midlet manager search the forums for one, i remember i have seen a topic somwhere about opera mini
I've found the apps, esmertec j2me, at other forum.. The problem still occured. I assume that opera mini is not compatible with those java emulators. Do you have link to apps which compresses the web page so that we can save memory (and also the bill )

opera mini
Opera mini works great on my BA running Xplodes midlet setup. I am running opera mini 4 beta 2 just for the record, I couldnt get the first beta of mini 4 to run, But I have no problem with beta 2 at all.. Great browser as well...
figure it out!
it seems that the network connection plays important role on this. (when using not stable gprs connection, the opera mini keeps trying to connect to the web, but since there is no/weak gprs signal, it just stops working.) when trying to terminate the appl, BA read it is still trying to connect to the gprs, then it wont stopped... however, softreset fixed it..
if i upgrade my radio version to 1.15 (currently 1.12), does it improve the signal's reception?
regards
adri
Has anyone been using the full version.
I've been using it for a few days, and to me the Beta versions seems to be better than the full version. The main issue I have with the full version is that its constantly causing my Tmo Wing to lock up or using all the available memory. When I installed it the beta version is still on my ppc and sometime I use the beta and that doesn't lock up as quick as the full version.
Anyone else tried it out? the trial version is available for download on Opera's website.
i have the full version. It works okay for me although it tends to hang at times depending the website im looking at. It helps if you disable animations and plug ins as they take up more memory to run.
I had it for a while. Opera Mini is much better.
Yeah I got opera mini also, but don't really care for it since it locks up a lot also..
my opera 8.65 beta works fine, I should just remove the full version and ride it out with the beta..
I rarely use PIE unless im on this forum, cause it loads faster.
Opera Mini never locks up on me. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of tabs.
I'm running Opera Mobile 8.65 full without any problems
the only reason i use full is that i seem to have a problem dowloading rar files with ie and opera mini.
i might just have to flash my rom to one of the ones out there like touch it 4.4, and maybe it will run smoother... im trying to find me a tilt/8925 for a good price first though before i do any rom flashes.
I remember using Beta.. I would use it to download from Rapidshare with my phone... then I upgraded to Full.... and suddenly, I couldn't download from Opera anymore..
How strange... usually you GAIN extra features when you pay for the full program..

wow u paid for it??... that's why I hate paying for a program till I test it out first... opera full has its issues, can't download from rapidshare, lock ups on the wing cause its using all your memory to load applets and run scropts from the page... opera 8.65beta runs fine for me does lock up but I have to be on a website that uses almost 10mb's loading up pictures and stuff...
Why the hell would anyone even use Opera Mobile? Its pretty slow and you can't even see Flash vids with it! Can't wait for SkyFire.

Opera Mini for me is about 4 or 5 times faster than PIE on all websites. Can't use flash though. I'm using opera mini all the time now to look up basic information cause PIE is so slow for me. Maybe it's just me
edit: Oh... Opera Mobile. Opera Mobile is only a tad bit faster than PIE.
Opera updated today their open beta in http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/download/ . Now it seems they have an Symbian UIQ version too.
This version also includes the Opera widgets plataform. I dont tested yet and dont know the core build number.

If I look at the Known Issues then nothing works
ActiveX is disabled - Flash plugins and embedded video streaming do not work.
Custom software keyboards (IME) will be buggy at best, not working at worst.
No multilingual build - Only English is supported. Problems with other languages (and input methods) are not unexpected.
Installation on memory cards may cause problems.
Text wraps in overview mode.
Main testing has been done on English HTC devices (Touch Diamond, Touch Pro, Touch, Touch Dual, Touch Cruise, TyTN and Wizard) and Samsung i900.
Landscape mode does not take keyboard position into consideration.
Devices with low memory might get Out Of Memory (OOM) messages.
Opera is always running when the Widgets Manager is running.
On devices with hight DPI some of the pre-installed widgets look small.
When an URL is opened from a widget, there will be an extra browser window opened in the background that's not working properly.
Ok I installed it in my Diamond.
Its build 2723 and seems to be really fast. I installed into device and it doesn't messed up with my ROM's Opera.
The navigation is really fine but the whole widget thing is very buggy. Once you run Widgets the browser doesn't run anymore. You need to kill Opera and OperaL process or softreset. Avoiding widgets you will have a great experience.
Ok, some minutes later and I've got another impression.
Beta 2 is fast and render better some pages (gmail in normal view for example) but its unusable. The shortcut calls sometimes default Opera, sometimes the beta version. Always when I close beta version it displays widgets and i cant open the browser again. Download only for testing purposes.

You have two versions of Opera installed on your device simultaneously... expect problems!
Doesn't seem to take advantage of the accelerometer in the Diamond.
Wow, sad to see that Opera still sucks so much.
Also their forums are full of rants and the mods over there keep censoring and deleting forum postings and even whole threads.
Don't know what's going on, but commercial WM development is getting worse with every day. Just look at CorePlayer, STILL no fixed build for the Diamond, they even don't manage to put a build out which at least fixes the every now and then hickup while playing music.
On the other hand underground development is going higher every day, as seen in this forum.

Installed the build 2723 and removed the previous Opera9 and OperaL. Indeed, the speed is impressive! Opera Browser is now automatically loaded after each soft rest, however. Is there any way to avoid the auto-load after soft rest? As in the precious setting, I prefer to open/load the Opera Browser when needed in order to save memory.
Also, if Opera Browser is closed after being loaded into the memory (at the soft reset), it can't be re-opened without another soft rest. Any one encounters the same and may have solutions?
Can anyone please make the Beta 2 as an vga SD version...
Why, when in a forum and making a new post, when i press delete, does it go back. pees me right off.
I am inside the tExtbox. look, too scaredto cover my mistakes.
Yeah, this happens to me too, impossible to edit a post once you start typing!

LOL! Yeah, I wrote a long email within Opera on my ebay account, tapping away, got to the end.... oops a typo, better correct that.... DOH! nooooo! the delete key becomes the back key. Yeah, plain stupid.
well DEL is used as back in every PC browser, but "should" be disabled when in a textbox.
Does anyone know of a fix for this? I currently select the text by holding down the shift and replace it with the characters I want, or go before the offending text and use Fn Delete. Its hard enough banging out some moan on a forum while on a train!!
definately agree with this one...REALLY annoying!
well that opera is way worse than it's desktop and mini counterpart
is there any way to uninstall it? and what's the best alternative for that?
USe MINI Opera or the Beta 2 - much newer Build
Load Opera Mini or the BETA of Opera 9.5
It is newer and faster
I'm using the 9.5 beta, it's much faster, and doesn't do that.
I looked at opera mobile website and it says that the latest version is 9.51b, is that's the newest? it has been from July!?
where to get the newest?
I have opera 9.51b installed on my Xperia and indeed it's much faster than the Opera 9.5 version which standard comes with the T-mobile branded version. However the standard installed Opera is still on my phone besides the new beta version. Does somebody know how I can uninstall the older version? It's not in the uninstall programm list...
waitin' for a good browser
since 3 years i'm waiting for a good browser for pocketpc or other small devices. but nothings happened yet. opera & iphones safari cannot handle sites with DHTML and javascript for a comfort surfing the web.
we can only hope for opera next versionen or the new pocket IE.
Strange! It doesn't happen on my Vodafone-branded X1 when I press the key slowly and carefully. But it does sometimes when I'm deleting more characters and press it repeatedly and quickly! I have originally installed version 9.5 build 2141 of the Opera.
for me, DEL acts like DEL - but ONLY in text mode!!! so everything is normal.
Sorry but the mobile safari Browser on the iPhone is very good. I can not understand anyone telling it is crap.
Sure some sites will not work - BUT THIS IS A MOBILE DEVICE !!!!
And on Windows Mobile the first browser which gives us a good experience in browsing is OPERA - still it is not as good as safari but it is good. Only not so nice that opera does not offer newer Builds.
There is beta 1 and 2 and the versions on HTC devices and on the X1 - they are all old builds so there is a big missmatch around.
THE ACTUAL OPERA MOBILE BETA is calles 9.51b2.cab
so the x1 operia is older than the official beta? strange cause the build number is lower...
anyone try this http://mobilefirefox.com/, i dont haw yet my SEX1thing.

MobileFirefox is not for WM phones, it's for desktop PC's.
Minimo is a mozilla based WM browser.

Fennec is the true mobile firefox, alas no working WM builds yet..
Minimo is no longer supported
However if the version of fennec you can use on the desktop is anything to go by this will be superb!

Not SEX1's fault, bugs come from Opera, all devices use it have all the same old issues. We gotta wait for Opera mobile team to comes up with the next stable release.
I've been a member here for a few years now and i use my beloved Trinity a lot, especially for surfing the net (opera mini (java) opera mobile 8.5 and internet explorer are mostly what i use) i've noticed a lot of people seem to have very few issues with running WM6.5 but i find it almost impossible to use WM6.5 for surfing the net without it constantly freezing or resetting on me, so i was wondering, which combination of WM, SPL and Radio Roms is everyone else using and how is ur speed / stability in conjunction with these? I'd especially like to hear from those who use WM6.5.
It's more of a curiosity based question than anything else.
....win 6.5,trinity p 3600,radio 1.46,supersport rom translated from rubenalf with titanium, opera mini 5 beta ( veryvery good ),skyfire (good, little bit heavy if not in wifi ) internet explorer 7 or 8 Idon't remember ( slow and heavy ) -
- no crash almost at all - I had more problems with manila 2d in win 6.1 -
thanks donaglia, i think i'll give that combo a try.

godofwap; does your dream combo work fine? please share ur experience.
unfortunately i still found this combo to be a little tetchy at times, for example, whenever i switch to desktop mode on pie 8 it always froze before the entire page loaded, and for some reason whenever i ran opera mini 4.2 (java) it always seemed to close the java app, opera mobile 8.5 worked well for a time but had the same problem as pie 8 when it came to loading desktop view, sky fire was a complete no go, wouldnt even load, so far the best 6.5 combo i've used is:
nAr & Icke WM6.5 [build 21874.5.0.83] WWE Titanium Version (here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606027 )
Olipro hard spl 1.20
Radio Rom 1.46.30.11
I was always fully able to load desktop views on opera mobile 8.5 and pie, although it did take between 1-2 minutes to fully load at times, opera mini 4.2 still keeps crashing but i could live without using that for the time being, sky fire still would not work, the combo overall was very smooth and relatively quick considering the fact it wasnt origionally designed for our beloved trinitys, i'm now going to try WWE WM6.5 24001 UL by The.Decoy (here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5547181#post5547181 ) to see how it works out, i'll keep you posted.
btw, i'd like to say that i think all the chefs here do a fantastic job, this post is just to determine the best combination for myself and anyone else who wishes to follow suit. I wouldnt want anyone to think that i'm dissing their work, so keep it up
