ok then............

Deleting these files won't bring your more space, as the space is already allocated. You can only remove them if/when you cook a new ROM.

How can install Tom Tom in memory card?

Hi to all,
I'd like to install TomTom 6.032(8351) in my memory card.
At the moment it is stored in: My Device\Programs\Navigator
Can I safely move the directory in the memory card?
Thanks!
Yes?
I have tom tom installed on to the memory card on my XV-6700 and the application launcher installed on to the main memory.
You may have to reinstall the launcher if it dont see the map data after you move it!

So first I can try to move the dir and left the .exe in My Device\Programs\Navigator directory.
If it doesn't work I have to reinstall the launcher ...
But ... how can I reinstall the launcher?
um, isnt intallation into the SD card optional?
I've moved the whole folder to the storage card and changed the .lnk file to match the new location.
You can start it using the modified .lnk but the today pluging will not work anymore.

i am assuming you mean device "rom" ... not ram ... and no it can't be done. You can flash a rom to your device using a storage card but you can't install the rom onto storage card for use on phone.
i think he means ram, and no it cant be done, get a new device with more ram is the answer, best bet is probably the elfin, will cost sub £100

You need to change install dir of the cabs. You can use WINCE Cab manager to do this.
no other way??? Reg edit or else...
Hello? plz it would be soo cool
That's the only way. You have to modify the cab (s) and change install path.

Hi find this a pain also. I requested Tom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5385940&postcount=220 to use two folders inside the autoinstall one. This way we could select which cabs would install in SDCard and in the Main Memory.
Hope he will add this feature.
Hi, whre can i download Tom´s Autoinstall as .cab-File?

So what's the problem with having 7Mb left?
Good question, but i also would like to install on sd-card for several reasons.
Is there any possibillity to ask once for the place of installation?
Would be nice, thank you in advance tom.

Could any of you guys please give this a try as a hopeful solution for Installing to SD using Tom's AutoInstall:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6608162&postcount=47
I am assuming that Tom's AutoInstall processes '.MSCR' scripts contained in the AutoInstall folder of the SD card. If so, this is similar to the functionality of "XDA_UC" by Noonski.
User benjamminzIS has modified a script used by "SASHIMI" (another great auto-install/configure tool) to make it standalone and able to process files contained in XDA_UC/SDauto folder on the SD card. (Please see the above post for his explanation and download.)
So if you placed this script (also attached) in the AutoInstall folder (as per Tom's utility), then placed all .cabs that are to be installed to memory-card in XDA_UC/SDauto (as per the script/XDA_UC utility), we'd all be very interested to know if it works!...
Please feedback with results.
Good luck and all the best,
Hirshy

HTC Website Updates/Hot Fixes.

Hi all,
There are a few updates/hotfixes for the Leo on the HTC website at the moment which I want to download and install. My question: As some of these files are quite large, one is 12mb, where would these files be installed, internal memory or SD card, or will I be given a choice as per cab installation?
Thx for any replies.

I have about 60mb of free memory on my phone at the moment. The updates/hotfixes I've downloaded, 9 files in all, add up to about 32mb. I know I should have probably gradually downloaded and installed these files. Therefore I would prefer to install to SD card. Can anyone see any problems with this, or do these files NEED to be installed direct to the device?
Again thx for any replies.

these updates are not like cabs, and install into the ROM directly replacing previous file, so no extra storage is used up.
Not to mention you could just, take the stuff on your actual phone's memory and shift whatever files you have eating up the ridiculous amount of space the phone has on board to the SD card as well.
System files or updates shouldn't ever go on the SD card unless you're doing rom changing and that's a completely different beast. Reason being for me is that an SD card can mess up over time plus its nice to have reference to the files incase you need them again in the future.

Swapping memory cards

Another question, good folk of XDA!
I've just bought myself a bigger memory card (because size counts ).
Can I copy the contents of my current card to the new one (includimng data.img), and away I go? Or will I need to start over with everything?
Cheers

Are you sure? I copied everything across, and it now fails at boot, with '/bin/mount not found', 'Failed to mount SD card. Can not continue' ?
Guess I might need to start over..
