Help with the "Ok" button - XPERIA X1 General

Ok I tried to do some searching for the front "Ok" button but either I didn't find any or I'm not searching using the right words so if you know of the answer, if you could either help or point me to the correct thread that'd be greatly appreciated.
Anyways, I am looking to, if possible, set the front "ok" button to actually close the program rather than minimize it.

SPB Pocket Plus?

Hi,
Check the quick menu (which actually replaces the default startmenu).
quick menu have an option to close the application on OK button instead of minimize.
good luck

Use multimedia button to force screen rotation?

Is there a program that will do what the title of the thread suggests? That is, I want to be able to force whatever screen is currently displayed to rotate to landscape when I press the multimedia button. I do not want any auto-rotation. I want to be able to completely control when the screen rotates.
You can do it under the buttons menu in settings
I have mine set as 'Okay'

I'm sorry but I don't see that option. When I select Buttons -- Multimedia Key it only allows me to assign a program to opne or some simple commands such as <OK/Close>, <Context Menu>, <Scroll> etc.

Power button: disable Quick List, enable Slide2Shutdown?

Have been trying to solve this for a little while without success, wondering if any body could help out. Upon a long press of the power button appears, on the 2 custom roms I have tried, a Quick List . This however this does not display a Restart option. I prefer the look and usability of Slide2Shutdown however cannot disable Quick List and map Slide2Shutdown there instead.
Ive installed Slide2Shutdown however it doesn't override the Quick List.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Give this one a try

You have been a member of XDA for quite sometime surely you are capable of using the search button rather than create a brand new thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191626
lol thxxxx for the tip, wasn t searchnig the right words (hard to be french)
after reading the topic, don t see anybody talking about long press on back button = kill current app, #confused
Another mod which works but your phone needs to be rooted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200369
i ve seen this one already but same it seems that long press = menu action not killapp
Surely double tapping on the home button is quite intuitive though? I think the mod you are after would mess up the long press back for menu (sorry I misread your first post).
dbl tap on hop open recents app (so far on mine) and longpress does nothing, here the trick is to create the menu app that is gone, not the killer task button. no rpob, we read all too many lines per day

Not sure if this is launcher specific but I'm using Nova Prime and if you long press the menu button, then the original menu items pop up instead of recent apps. I never test with TW launcher. Discovered this later. But this way you don't have to remap with gravity box.

I'm not even sure what gravitybox even is. I tried to see if it was in the app storre. someone else in the thread recommended to do so....
FYI - the layout used in the S5 is the standard Android button layout and you will see fewer and fewer devices using a dedicated menu button, as there's no need for it in Android 4.x+

Gravity BOX is a module that is installed after you first use Xposed Installer. Google this or look it up in a search here on XDA.

Install button greyed out for APK files

Hello all, I just joined the forum and what a great resource. I've been reading through the posts but haven't been able to figure out why I cant install apk files. I've enabled apps from unknow sources but the install button is still greyed out. I just got a Fire HD 10 (7th Generation) and haven't been able to side load any downloaded apk files. I've only loaded one app (VLC) through the amazon app store, would love to load chrome and other apps.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Rob

Thank you!
I found and easier way. When you see the greyed out install button, press the square button next to the circle home button. Then just click back to the install screen. Doing that will remove the greyed out install button. Just click install!
Duece solution works for my profile, but not for my kids'. Kids profiles do not have the square button.
I want to install some apps for them. Installing from apk used to work. Now no longer.
Kinda wack solution but saved me a ton of time, can't thank you enough!!

ditto! Thanks alot and works like a charm!
It seems that if you install a .apk over a file manager, Amaze in my case the button is not greyed out
Edit: Seems like this only helped for apps that I tried to install after downloading via the browser
