Have been trying to solve this for a little while without success, wondering if any body could help out. Upon a long press of the power button appears, on the 2 custom roms I have tried, a Quick List . This however this does not display a Restart option. I prefer the look and usability of Slide2Shutdown however cannot disable Quick List and map Slide2Shutdown there instead.
Ive installed Slide2Shutdown however it doesn't override the Quick List.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Ok I tried to do some searching for the front "Ok" button but either I didn't find any or I'm not searching using the right words so if you know of the answer, if you could either help or point me to the correct thread that'd be greatly appreciated.
Anyways, I am looking to, if possible, set the front "ok" button to actually close the program rather than minimize it.
SPB Pocket Plus?
Hi,
Check the quick menu (which actually replaces the default startmenu).
quick menu have an option to close the application on OK button instead of minimize.
good luck

hi all...
the lock screen on my hd2 has gone missing... pressing the red button directly brings me into the sense UI... any suggestions what went wrong?
thanks!
any help with above issue pls?
Have you recently installed then uninstalled a custom lockscreen? Look at my sticky (link in my sig) and towards the bottom of the first post you'll see some attached cabs. download the one that says Lockscreen HD2 original then install it. It should bring you back to normal.

hi there...
i did stumble upon your sticky and downloaded the lockscreen HD2 original cab file yesterday itself. I have soft reset the device after the installation but still there is no lock screen. Once the device boots up its directly in the Sense UI. Anything else I can do to fix OR might have done wrong?
Thanks for your input!
** Also, to answer your question, no i have not installed or uninstalled any custom lockscreen.. I am still in the learning stages of flashing a ROM and once I get comfortable with all the steps involved, I'll take the plunge but at this point the device is in stock condition except for the apps I have installed. Thanks

Thanks for the link - it kind of helped, which is to say - when i go to start menu and tap on "lock" it does lock the screen but after unlocking it when i press the red button to shut the display and again press it the lockscreen doesnt come up.. i'd hate to click twice before I press the red button only to make sure it doesnt come to life and call my aunt while in my pocket :-/
I tried reinstalling the cab from your sticky to the device (coz I wasnt sure where i had installed it previously) but the problem persists and No I havent installed any BSB or any other tweaks (atleast not intentionally)
So when you go to start , etc, then lock, after you unlock it you're presented with the lock screen Options. Are those set accordingly? Once set, it'll ask you to save changes, then click ok in top right corner.

Okay so here's what I do -
- tap on start menu
- bottom left soft key says "lock"
- tap on lock
- device lockscreen comes on
- now if i press the red button to switch off and then press it again, the lockscreen stays.
-but if i slide the lock on the lockscreen to reveal the sense UI, close the device and then switch it on again, it doesnt show me the lockscreen
does that help you help me?
thanks a ton for your patience!

Do you have cookies home tab/chteditor or bsb tweaks installed? If you do that might be causing the fail.

No I dont. I dont have any of those installed. I want to install the cookies but havent installed any mods yet. The only things I've installed on there are apps.
One of them being Resco Explorer which has a Task manager with it. Could that have made my screen disappear?

I don't think Resco Task Manager is the problem. I have it installed, and I still have the Lock screen that displays when I hit the red key.

Once you go to the start menu, select SETTINGS. Then tap the MENU soft key in the bottom right and select ALL SETTINGS. You should see LOCK in the top-right. Tap it, this locks your screen. Immediately unlock. You are now at the LOCKSCREEN OPTIONS page. Set accordingly. Save. Tap OK in top right. Done. Drink a beer.

I already tried this before.. Tapping on the Lock icon in the "ALL SETTINGS" does not lock the screen. Instead, it directly takes me to the password screen (maybe what you referred to as lockscreen options) where my first choice is a checkbox for "Prompt if phone unused for ___ mins and the other option is to choose a password.
Yeah that's the stuff. That's where you enable it. Check the box, set the password (pin).
Sorry for not realizing you had been there. If setting and saving those options doesn't work, not sure what to tell you.
Are you connected to an exchange server?
(you have to make sure after you hit the obvious SAVE button that pops up, you have to hit the OK button in the top right the screen.)

I am confused as how to remove the notification on my left soft key when my bluetooth headset is connected.
even though I hit the hide button, the notification comes back. so I cannot use the left soft key as it now shows notification all the times.
is there any registry tweak to disable it?
I search and only find how to remove sms notification or disable the bluetooth disconnect sound only.
please help as this really annoying.
thanks

yes, but it's not there...
Well, then what about using Google? Like finding this util - http://journal.zenyee.com/2006/11/10/diy-software-hack-for-window-mobile-phone/ with a simple query (http://www.google.com/search?num=50...=3892l3892l0l5848l1l1l0l0l0l0l106l106l0.1l1l0) but since the download doesn't work, You can ask the blog author.
Or if that doesn't work, You could check what happens if You delete the notification from queue manually (with SKTools or Dotfred's taskmgr). And if that works, then You could write maybe a small mortscript to take care of this. There are tons of ways You can help Yourself. There isn't a ready-coded solution for everything here as all the devices are different. We can only show You the door, but You are the one that has to go through it.
Hi, thank you for the answer. I did search using google but I couldn't find it.
I used the remove bluetooth softkey and other combinations but I couldn't get the answer.
Anyway, yes the program is not downloadable anymore.
I already post on his web hopefully he still has the program to share with me.
anyway thanks a lot...
OK, glad I could help. Don't forget to hit the "Thanks" button, if You really feel that way
yes, I have waited for a couple days but so far I haven't got any replied from him. I PMed him already. Hopefully he still has the file as he is the only person who has this kind of modification...
I have searched everywhere but nobody seems to have it.
if someone still has it, please share it with me as I desperately need to get this...
thanks
Hello all, I just joined the forum and what a great resource. I've been reading through the posts but haven't been able to figure out why I cant install apk files. I've enabled apps from unknow sources but the install button is still greyed out. I just got a Fire HD 10 (7th Generation) and haven't been able to side load any downloaded apk files. I've only loaded one app (VLC) through the amazon app store, would love to load chrome and other apps.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Rob

Thank you!
I found and easier way. When you see the greyed out install button, press the square button next to the circle home button. Then just click back to the install screen. Doing that will remove the greyed out install button. Just click install!
Duece solution works for my profile, but not for my kids'. Kids profiles do not have the square button.
I want to install some apps for them. Installing from apk used to work. Now no longer.
Kinda wack solution but saved me a ton of time, can't thank you enough!!

ditto! Thanks alot and works like a charm!
It seems that if you install a .apk over a file manager, Amaze in my case the button is not greyed out
Edit: Seems like this only helped for apps that I tried to install after downloading via the browser

Worked on Lg G3 LS990
Dear Experts,
I have a Mi 9T, global version. I would like to be able to turn on the Torch/Flashlight
very quickly, without having to unlock the phone.
I have read, that for this, I should swipe right when the phone is locked. This doesn't
do nothing on my phone.
Both when I just started it and even after installing the latest MIUI update.
Yesterday I tried to install 2 apps, that claim to have a lock screen widget, however
none of those works (meaning, I didn't find an option to enable a lock screen widget
in the settings).
Those were TinyFlashlight and Flashlight by 3.0.7 specifically...
Many thanks in advance!
Hi there, go to settings -> additional settings -> button shortcuts and set a button to activate torch. Personally I use double tab power button, very convenient
hey, you are GREAT !!! And a couple of hours earlier I just found that myself by just doing something else and I came here to say that I discovered it myself
However - the credit goes on you !! THANKS !!!
