Request : Tweak to remove the "ringtone volume" control on HTC - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hello,
Does anybody know if there is an easy way to remove the HTC volume controller for the ringtone on the HTC diamond/pro/blackstone.
Very often I turn off the ringtone volume by mistake and miss some phone calls.
Is it possible to have ONLY the "Systeme Volume" and not the ringtone volume anymore.
Thanks in advance

or at least have the volume rocker to change by default the system volume ?

HKLM/Software/HTC/VolumeOverlay/DefaultPage
0=System
1=Ringtone
Don't remenber if a SR is mandatory...just try.

Sound when you change your volume

Maybe it's just me but the sound when i change the volume of the diamond freaks me out... especially when i'm listening music with earplugs and i just wanna do it a little more louder it disturbs me.
Is there a way to make them go away? Maybe just erase the soundfiles? If yes, can somebody please tell me where i can find them?
pls help me
You can disable the 'sound beeps while changing volume' by using Diamond Tweak.
Thanks a lot for helping me fixing my problem...
I installed diamond tweak already but i did not find a tweak for fixing my prob.
I have Installed the 0.5 version is there a newer one? I couldn't find one in the internet so far...
Tweak # 1.5 in Diamond Tweak.
But it is only for in call beeps as the description says. Still you can try it. Sorry if it doesnt help.
still have this issue on Wm6.5 energyrom phoenix 2
I cannot disable the volume change sound.
Tried looking for wav files, tried using advancedtweak (And other tweak programs).
I can only get them to shut off when in a call. I want them to be disabled forever. Any solution ideas
Same here. I have looked in the registry and I can't find anything about the volume beep not incall.
i was looking for the same thing and the only solution i found was to install another volume control app
S2U2 includes a silent volume control that works perfectly
Hi,
When browsing the HD2 forums (I'm gonna get one in a few days, yay!) I found this:
75. Disable Beeps When Altering Volume
When you press the volume key you getting annoying beeps. This tweak allows to change the volume silently without the beeps.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Volume\Mute Change from 3 to 1.
It worked on my TP so I assume it'll work on you Diamond to.
Cheers,
/Cacti

what it does is disables events, reminders and sets notifications to silent
maybe it works on Leo but not on Topaz

Opal Volume Control - Hardware key

Does anyone have a solution for The hardware rocker on devices such as the Wizard for Opal Volume Control ? Im so close to banging my head against the wall. Any advice/help would be appreciated
bump
Would also like to be able to assign volume control to a hardware key. Any takers on how this is done?
----------bump----------
Anyone? at all? please? *starts to cry*
Anyway, this would be great! It is the only thing missing from my kaiser using the Opal roms. Especially in audio manager where the only way to change the volume is by tapping the volume icon in the start bar. The scroll wheel does nothing at all!
So I would love to see someone take a try at this!
C'mon some help please 608 views not one reply. Is this something that can not be done? Is there not a way to make a shortcut to the volume control so you can launch it similar to S2U2-VC or Setvolume? Please any type of reply would be helpfull.
bump again
I was hoping for an answer to this too but in my quest to find this answer. I came up with a much simpler solution (for me anyway).
I love A_C's S2U2 application and several versions back, he implemented a volume control screen which looks JUST like HTC's except that both volume bars are on one page. (Myself, I think HTC ripped the idea from A_C but made it with 2 tabs so it looked different enough.) What I ended up doing was using that volume control module instead of HTC's since the S2U2 one CAN be bound to a hardware key since it's a shortcut that sits in your start menu.
all very true, i remember trying it right before the HTC version came out, and i found them quite similiar. The only thing is, I do not use s2u2 anymore and it would be nice to have it built into the stock opal manager as that is what comes up when you change volume in the audio manager and the system icon...
There is a way to create a shortcut that will call an IN MEMORY address, I just have no luck getting the correct address for the Volume Control
I use smartskey and the volume up/down key on my Wizard works in Opal Volume Control

Hi,
Boto has given a smartskey.ini file which enables opal volume control to work with volume slider.
I did not tested because wizard's volume slider is damaged. Can you test it. I have Attached the file below
Thanks

How do I change to the default WM volume control?

The HTC volume control is sexy and everything but it's not as usable for me as the default Windows Mobile volume bubble that I've been using for years.
When I press the hardware volume buttons I want to set the volume for the whole device (SMS & email notifications, music playback etc) but the HTC screen always defaults to the ring volume (which I never need to adjust).
The WM volume bubble on my Elf was always focussed on the System slider and I'd like to drop the HTC screen in favour of it, assuming it works the same way. Anybody know of a way of doing this?
Its al over this forum
Try searching the forum next time!
But for now, change the following registry setting:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ HTC \ VolumeOverlay \
change "DefaultPage" to 0
Oops Sorry
I've been reading the Blackstone forum for a few months and didn't notice any threads on this.
I'll try your solution. Thanks.
Hmm. I've changed that reg. value and it hasn't made any difference. Is that a Blackstone-specific solution or is it from the Diamond or Pro forums?
I've checked the reg. value after a soft-reset and it's still set to zero but the HTC volume screen still takes over.
I'm also pissed off the HTC customizations. I want a WM6.1 Professional, not any customizations at all.
Is there a way to disable them all?
There is a way, try this CAB
If you don't like just unistall! Using it for myself.

That's excellent - it has disabled the HTC volume control on my HD. Thank you very much.
Good, but you lose the 10 step control over volume (was only available on the system volume anyway).

Nice one!
HTC volume control is not my cup of tea.
This seemed to be working fine until a soft reset when the device reverted back to the HD volume slider. Also the CAB doesn't seem to actually install anywhere. It doesn't show up in the remove programs list.
@Koffein Schluck: Thank you for this nice cab-file! I also dislike the new HTC volume control.
@Anfloyd: I don't have these problems. The cab appears in the remove programs list and I have the classic volume control after a soft reset.

works for me on the HD without problems, even after Soft Reset....
regards jan
a good one
here is a good one with ring and system just installed on the latest flash touch-it 5.1
ftp://ftp.minftp.myftp.org/XperiaX1i/Touch-IT_Blackstone/Touch-IT_Blackstone_volumecontrol.cab
yet another one
This shareware app enables the WM volume and yet it extends it to be finger friendly, plus other innovative features.
Cheers

[Q] With Earphones Music Volume to low on WP7

Activate works perfect. Thx Microsoft German Support!
But i want use my InEarphones and listen Music and now its to low...!
I found the Registry Entrys but how make the Volume for Music higher? What is the right Entry for this? Anybody helps?
I need music music volume higher...
Thx DarkForcesTeam for this work...
It's completed mess with volumes.
1) Media & ring volume are too LOUD
2) System notifications with same level like 1) are too LOW
Just use the rocker switches to adjust volume level

Whut?
Rocker Switches?
Wrong forum, ffs why are people still posting crap in the dev sections??
Thread reported!
Mine is stupidly loud on ringtones and media etc (to distortion), and it's also too loud through headphones.
When I say this I mean that the loudest setting is over the top and not much use since it's distorted - that's fine, I just won't turn it up that high - simples!
But the problem is that on the lowest setting (1/20) both ringtones and media are still too loud for what should be kind of barely audible. Now that is not easy to workaround so I'd love to sort it out.
Update - got my excessive volume fixed now with the registry edit posted elsewhere by changing the value from 45 to 70.
Now volume level 1 is really quiet how it should be.

+1 - please share your findings (where is this reg key, what variable?)
edit:
I found the variable he's talking about.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Volume]
"MaxdBAtten"=dword:2D (2D = 45)
I suspect this will not change the ringtone to notification volume differences?

can you confirm the volume difference between ringtone and notifications is still there? or does this also solve that as well?

I think I just fixed this. I saw a registry edit for WM 6 & it the directory still exists.
HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\
In each of it's sub directories, change the InitVol value to 100. I notice some were 100 already while others were 85 or even 65. I think this means 100% volume/85% volume/65% volume. Change them all to one value & you'll equalize the volume across the board.
