Sync SMS messages

Was wondering if there was anyway to make active sync get SMS messages off your phone? Did some searching and only found info about 3rd party apps doing this

there are some commecial solutions:
search for:
IBE
which syncs SMS messages in outlook.

What about with the palm threaded sms? any ways that work with that too?

Ive hard about those but im looking for a way to do this without the use of 3rd party applications...i want to sync them within Active Sync somehow. Ive heard its possible

This would be great!
I saw on winmo 6.5 an option to sync sms with google sync...
But after i put in al my data (username, pass and server) the option disapeared.
So i guess it's coming soon.... but in the meanwhile it would be great to have an appz that sync sms.
Perhaps a simple solution where the sms is uploaded/synced to a remote MySQL database.
it would be very great ;-)

Need help migrating to Nike from older PDA

I've just upgraded to a Nike from a Wizard (ran wm5) and I really want to be able to take off my non-outloook email and sms messages and import to the new pda.
I've managed the contacts and calendar through active sync, but nothing else... any ideas?

For Mails, SMS and MMS use PIM BackUp 2.8, best app ever for those jobs!

Thanks animelover - Very useful indeed. I've managed to get all my old SMS transferred. The email didn't work out, but I'm not too bothered about that.

For eMail you can use Outlook!

Well not for accounts you set up outside of your pc outlook... I had some folders and emails sorted into various places on the pda - although it's a yahoo account and I left them all on the server.
Just means I have to manually sort them all out (if I can be bothered!).

Is the Outlook Client HTC made or WM6.5 made?

HD2 everything is cool to me. Except the Outlook client. I would like to know this version of Outlook client is WM6.5 specific or HTC HD2 (Sense) Specific please? Is it possible to turn this version off and use back earlier version please? What I mean previous version is exactly the HTC Touch HD Outlook version, well, i know it is "old" Windows look, but at least it can change text size and always text wrap in email message...

Are you talking about SMS or Email?
SMS is HTC made, Email is the "old" Outlook.
You can turn off the SMS client. A quick forum search on how to disable HTC Messaging will help.

How to edit/Manage phone contacts from your PC?

anybody knows of a free program that lets you manage you WM phone contacts and edit them on your PC and then transfer these contacts to your phone?

Ive heard that you could sync your data to your gmail account? I havent tried it yet but I might try to do it soon because I don't like using Microsoft Outlook. Especially when it costs.

Hi sorry I haved searched but cant find.
problem for me is i have loads of contacts that have just email addresses probably from my MSN account, and they all appear in my contacts. I dont have phone nos for them so dont want them to appear.
They get transffered to my ford mondeo bluettoth sat nav kit, and i dont want my wife to see them!!! My girlfriend is coded as another name.
Anyway whats the point of having to scroll through email contacts when i cant phone them anyway.
Does anyone know a way to get rid of these from my contacts list. I have tried deleteing them but they seem to come back!

Are you using the mobile phone's Windows Messenger ? That's the only time i encountered this problem. All my hotmail buddies got transferred to my contacts because i checked a synchronize option when starting Windows Messenger.
