I am looking to lock down the applications on an iMate as well as creating some custom menus, basically I am rolling out 150 devices which need to be made extremely simple, I know this is not the kind of thing you guys normally hear, but these units are going to be used as Sat Nav and appointment planners only, I need to either remove or hide anything else on the device as well as creating a custom menu that only shows the applications to be used.
Hope someone can help
Many thanks

I saw a program that sounds similar to this by SPB it is called SPB Kiosk. I can't say how goood it is, just noticed it while browsing.
Hello,
i guess my problem was discussed many times, but I can't find any solution here. I searched, but couldn't find.
I want to close the software by clicking the little x, and not minimizing it. is there any registry key to edit?
And is there any better way to see which programms are open than the standard way by settings/memory/... ?
Greetings
Pete
try doing a search for x-button

In many different ROMs and themes I have seen the Start menu being enchanced by making it more akin to the Programs tab, but even though I have searched for hours I haven't found the answer to how to do this.
The closest I got was to install HTC EnlargeStartMenu_1_2_37901_1.cab, but this didn't help. I also tried changing the registry called EnlargeStartMenu, but that didn't help either.
Finally I sent the amazing andrew-in-woking a PM asking for assistance and he kindly wanted to help but told me to make a thread of it in which he could reply so others could benefit from it as well.
Isn't that fantastic?
EDIT: Meaning, he will answer here

Hi mhurg
I prefer to answer questions in the open forum instead fo by PM because then everybody benefits from my answer rather than just the one person who asks the question.
Having installed the HTC Menu enhancement that you referred to in your post, install Tom Extended Menu. It's by a guy called Tom Condon. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547280
Once in Tom Extended Menu you will be able to choose which start menu you want to have on your device.
One point to note is that the HTC style start menu is not particularly responsive, I think because the Menu Enhancement is not cooked into the ROM.
Thanks
andrew-in-woking
Thanks a million Andrew, works perfectly now
hey i wish i could get this working on my winmo 6.1 /manila 2.5 rom!! i would love to have this instead of the default 6.1 start menu! can anyone help?
Hello together,

This program show you a list with programs like you see it on the iphone.
Can someone give me the thread please?
Big thanks,

I don't have a link to the thread, but it's called myAction v2.0, developer is noiseRobert. You'll findi it using this info for search (if this IS the iPhone-style prog launcher you're looking for, I'm sure there are a few out there ; maybe also myToday, or iToda, not sure on those)
But I am sure about noiseRoberts myAction 2.0 - I've tried it (nice work, but I don't care to use it, personally)
Thank you very much. This is the right program I am searching!

Is there a way to re-order menu items on the HD2 ?
An example of this is in the email application. When I go into my Inbox, I see that I have 3 new (unread) emails. Scanning the list shows me that I don't need to read these now, but would like to mark them as read to reset the unread email counter. I will press the 'menu' button, but in order to get to the 'Mark All as Read' option, I always have to scroll this list to the bottom. I would like it if I could move the 'Mark All as Read' option to the top of that list.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible ? I'm hoping that with the massive amount of talent roaming around these boards, someone might be able to help !
Thanks in advance.
Things move off the front screen so quickly these days that it's sometimes difficult to get an answer first time around. I'm *bumping* this to see if anyone can help me. With all that mass of knowledge and talent on this board, I'm sure that someone must know if this is possible !
Again, thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Actually, you can't do this because it's related to WM base files. Maybe you can change the orders via resource hacking and changing order of menus on it's related files in WM files. (such as ****.MUI or ****.DLL files)
