Change order of menu items - HD2 General

Is there a way to re-order menu items on the HD2 ?
An example of this is in the email application. When I go into my Inbox, I see that I have 3 new (unread) emails. Scanning the list shows me that I don't need to read these now, but would like to mark them as read to reset the unread email counter. I will press the 'menu' button, but in order to get to the 'Mark All as Read' option, I always have to scroll this list to the bottom. I would like it if I could move the 'Mark All as Read' option to the top of that list.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible ? I'm hoping that with the massive amount of talent roaming around these boards, someone might be able to help !
Thanks in advance.

Things move off the front screen so quickly these days that it's sometimes difficult to get an answer first time around. I'm *bumping* this to see if anyone can help me. With all that mass of knowledge and talent on this board, I'm sure that someone must know if this is possible !
Again, thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Actually, you can't do this because it's related to WM base files. Maybe you can change the orders via resource hacking and changing order of menus on it's related files in WM files. (such as ****.MUI or ****.DLL files)

Softkeyboard automatically opens

Greetings all
1st off, just wanted to say thanks to everyone here. This is a tremendous resource for all things PPC.
Is there a way to disable the softkeyboard from automatically opening up but leaving the icon there so I can activate it manually?
I did a few searches here regarding this and didn't see anything pertinent so I'll apologize in advance if I missed it.
Bump......
anyone?
I think it is possible to install a fake soft keyboard that does nothing. I have not used one but seen one on the net. Maybe proposed by Phm.
I have found it. Check the last item on this page:
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/PowerToys/
Not a bad band-aid fix but it requires a few more screen taps to pick the correct keyboard when I do need it - but thanks for the reply
I'll keep looking...

Too many clicks to SMS - how to remove MMS options?

I love my Tytn 2 but what has always annoyed me is the number of clicks to get to a new SMS screen:
start -> messaging -> sms/mms -> menu -> new -> sms
I have to make sure i dont accidentally press MMS -- I never use MMS and I dont know anyone who does! Never seems to work between different phone types anyway.
I'd like to hack the registry to get rid of all MMS options if possible.
Also any shortcuts to get straight to the "new SMS" window ?
Thanks
Dave
The place to ask questions is the Questions & Answers section of the forum.
I almost did it, almost gave the answer !
This is one of those things that is all over the place, literally, just search. After searcing, tell me exactly how long it took you to find it.
ok sorry guys for posting in wrong place -- I did search everywhere. if you can be arsed to reply then maybe help by pointing me in the right direction -- you are typing anyway!
search for "remove MMS options only returns my post -- thats what i was searching for. "SMS shortcut" -- fair enough!! but thats not actually what i was looking for...
sorry gods of xda ;-)
Well posted wrong or not, i can give you a tip...
Go to contacts, click the contact of whom you want to send an sms and choose send sms, sure is a shorter way, at least if you going to do a new sms and add a contact
Thanks Leonick -- obvious!! ive only been using WM for about 4 years
Why I bother sometimes.........
Create a text file with notepad, and type this exactly:
"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "SMS" -to "" - body ""
Then save it as New SMS.lnk
just a recommendation here..
you could use the actionscreen application..i have it mapped on the bottom bar for quick access. It takes 2 clicks to get started on a new sms this way
no. no. don't answer here. we go through this over and over again every time.

You're NOT going to remove the MMS option. You were complaining that you might tap MMS instead. Oh dear God!!! So instead of all those clicks after clicks after clicks you had to do, I gave you the answer you needed, a simple shortcut to create an SMS.
Yeah, we're friendly, but we get a bit tired of seeing these new threads started, even though there are signs every where, DO NOT POST HERE!
Seriously, what does this have to do with development?

Also, you answer to the SMS issue was WRONG and incomplete. Shame you cant put as much energy into replying to posts as to GRIPING...
anyways, over and out and thanks for your input...

lost "world clocks"

hi all,
I'm in need of some help...Ive had a hd2 for about a week now and have found this site invaluable when it comes to tech support...I have been using some of the tweaks on this site. such as the 16 quick links on the main screen but now when I tap the clock on the main screen nothing happens where as before it would take me to a new screen where I could choose different time zones....its quite useful as am in Asia and need to check the time in different zone before I call there...if anyone knows a fix or maybe there's a setting I'm overlooking. help would be greatly received.
thanks in advance
Andy.

Problem with tapping in emailscreen

On my HTC touch HD, when in emails, I could scroll through the different emails in every emailaccount, and tap the mail I wanted to come up. In my HD2 I can however scroll through the emails but cannot bring them up by tapping. I always have to push More and then scroll down to find the email I was looking for.
Is this explanation clear ?
If anyone has a solution, please help me out ! Thx !!
Please search in future, and don't expect your results to come up within the first few threads. You need to actually search when you search, not just give up.
Go to start and then lock (bottom left softkey).
It works after that.
I had the same question. How could anybody know this behaviour of the HD2? Didn't find anything in the manual. Anyway, thanks.

It wouldn't be in the manual as it's a bug, not a feature.
Anybody could "know this behaviour" by searching this forum - that's what it's for.
Anyway, I'm glad you've now sorted it and know how to do so in future.

Custom programs in bottom curtain

I have searched this entire site for a couple of days now and have yet to find what I'm looking for so I appologize if there is another thread out there like this one. I'd like to thank you guys first of all for all of the tweaks and hacks. I have had my hd2 for just over two weeks now and I was about to give it back but after I added all these hacks and tweaks and saw just what this phone was capable of, I'm definitely gonna hold onto it a while. During all of my searching I've learned a bit more about hacking the registry. The hd2 comes with a certain number of icons in the bottom curtain that slide back and forth. Well I don't use twitter, but love facebook. I have been trying to get facebook in the options to add it to the slider menu in the bottom curtain. Some of the registry files are located in hklm\software\htc\manila. I would appreciate any advice on how to edit the registry to achieve this. thanks in advance.
Jamie
I apologizefor the goof up. I found what I was looking for. I've been trying to delete this thread, but don't see any way to do so

Nah, dont delete it, others are asking themselves the same question.
You could post your solution though, that's what this place is for
