TyphoonNBFTools: http://w1.whatcounter.com/dlcount.p...yphoonNBFTools_0.3_SPL1010064_SPVServices.zip
Any Official Rom (I used I-Mate SP3 WWE).
A Typhoon running Windows Mobile 5.0.
Reverting Back:
Run TyphoonNBFTools and Open the SPL1010064.nbf. Right click on SPL in the bottom part of the screen and choose Emergency Flash. If this is the first time you have used the program you will get a prompt on your phone to run the runtimes. Choose yes. Click OK to flash the new bootloader to your phone. Next disable Activesync by turning off USB connections. Turn off your phone. While holding down the Camera button insert the USB cable, the phone should run the bootloader and you will be presented with the tri-color screen. It should say USB in the bottom corner. Now run Mtty and choose USB connection. Hit enter in the blank white space. You should now see Cmd>. Type "info 2" without the quotes. You should see some information about your phone. Next type "format BINFS" agains without the quotes. This one is case sensitive. You should see format complete or something along those lines. Now close Mtty and re-enable USB connections. Run the exe from the update you downloaded and follow the instructions. Your phone should now boot back up to WM2003.
For those stuck in bootloader mode you will need to run mtty and reflash the wm5.bin to the phone then follow the steps above.

Man! Can't thank you enough for this. I took my phone to the service centre, willing to pay for the repair, and they could not do it. Every thing works fine now. Very good manual, clear instructions and correct info!
THANKS!
Hi
I Am Trying To Follow The Procedure Mentioned. But When I Right Click On Spl I Am Not Getting 'emergency Flash' Active.
Can U Please Assist Me Regarding This
You need TyphoonNBFTools.dll installed on your phone. Try running TyphoonNBFTools and selecting Tools->Immediate Flash Tools->Test Immediate Flash. It should automatically install the required stuff for you. Check you phone when you run the program. You should get a prompt to installed a program from unknown publisher. Make sure to choose yes.
Stuck in bootloader
Just trying to do this following my question here.
I though it was going well but I have a major problem now! I managed to do the emergency flash, but every time I boot I just get the tricolour bootloader screen (IPL 1.00, SPL 1.01.0064) and can't get any further. Any ideas please? I have tried using mtty to load wm5.bin but get the error "MTTYDownloadImageNot allow operation!"
I have also tried re-doing the "format BINFS" and doing the above again but still no joy.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
maybe u need to make a "goldcard"
my feeler (o2 xphoneII) lives again after flash with goldcard.
I can't find a way to create one for Typhoon, can you point me in the right direction?
I try flash Amadeus = Qtek 8100 with UpdateTool from Qtek 8310.
Update process stopped at 74% , and UpdateProgramm closed.
Now my Qtek 8100 not Powered ON , and can't enter in boot mode (tricolor screen) with "Camera" button hold + USB cable conneting.
PC don't see any USB devices when I connected my Qtek 8100 to USB port.
I think I erased Boot loader in my Qtek 8100 (but not sure).
Is any method for repair ?
WBR !

Sounds like you're buggered - no GSM is usually quite easy to fix now if you have hard SPL, but I don't think a missing IMEI is so easy
Try this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755 There's lots to read but someone might be able to help.
If it doesn't work, try a complete upgrade (CID/SPL/ROM/RADIO) using Mrvanx's guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299462 I'd recomment Black 2.5 or LSVW as these are stable ROMS and radio 1.38, also hardSPLv7 (Olipro 2.10).
Also try searching for IMEI (Use advanced search and look for posts not threads)
Good luck

Same problem.
Same problem here. I cannot flash a operator rom or a radio rom. It hangs at 11-14%. 11% using the sd card method, and 14% for the normal RUU method using an operator rom. Radio roms wont even try to flash, it hangs at 0%. I need to connect too the pc and use Mtty to get the OS Booting.
Hi,i have too same this problem my device is hp ipaq hw6915 how can i fix this?can samebody help?
Today I've got a HTC Wizard from a friend which tried to install Windows Mobile 6. I don't know exactly what he has done, but what I do know is that the phone freeze at the bootscreen.
I'm still able to enter the bootloader. When the bootloader is active and the usb-cable is connected to the computer, activesync doens't recognise the phone. So I'm not able to flash the phone by using the bootloader and my computer.
I've searched for a solution to recover the Wizard and found this MiniSD flash method.
I did everything what's in the tutorial but when I type r2sd all I get this:
r2sd all
***** user area size = 0x1E3E0000 Bytes
R2SDBackup() - Download type = 5
usTotalBlock = 1 sizeof(SDCARD_SIGNATRUE_TABLE)=512
You didn't get the proper security level to download a specific image
Cmd>
During startup the Wizard give this information:
IPL 1.06
SPL 1.06
GSM 01.12.10
OS 1.0.13.21
Who can help me out ?
activesync doesnt need to recognize the device to flash a rom. As long as it says usb in the lower corner you're all set.
is it from tmobile or cingular? whichever it is, flash the latest carrier rom

I waited for about 10 minutes at the bootscreen and guess what ? The Phone booted very slowly. After that the phone connected to activesync and I flashed the latest carrier rom. Now everything is working again
Hi, I just bought this phone off craiglist and the sell isn't picking up my calls anymore.
She sold me a corrupt radio rom phone and i can't seem to fix it.
I read all the guides and spent the whole night trying to fix it.
after failing many times, and desperate for help, I'm starting a new thread.
What i know:
this problem started when i tried to unlock my phone with the unlocker v3. the phone kept stopping at 0% and none of the recovery steps work.
I tried hard SPL and it worked. and OS only rom works.
so I have a type 1A brick.
My phone says:
Herm100
IPL-1.04
HERM100
SPL-2.10.Olipro
NO GSM on OS start up.
I tried this fix:
but the problem is, my MTTY, does not show USB, it says CMD, not matter how many times i press enter.
METHOD 1
Disable activesync on your computer by right click on activesync icon -> connection settings -> uncheck "allow USB connections".
Put your Hermes in bootloader mode
Connect device to computer using USB cable.
Open mtty.exe and select USB port, then connect.
Hit enter twice, you will see the "USB>" prompt.
Type the following commands (do not copy paste!!!)
USB> password BsaD5SeoA
USB> set 1e 1
USB> erase a0040000 c80000
USB> erase a0cc0000 c80000
USB> erase a1940000 640000
USB> set 1e 0
after i do all this, I press the ok (the one of the left side) button and power button and reset to get back into bootloader.
then i run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe from Unlocker V3
and i still get 0%. whats going on?
any help would be great.
I don't know what i'm doing wrong, I read people are getting it to work with this method, but it's not working for me.
Thanks
Edit:
can somone tell me thats this means in mtty?

I tried to flash this rom on my phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371266

I got my radio rom back, but I only see the radio when there is no sim card inside.
But as soon as i put in a sim card, NO GSM comes back.
does anyone know why?
thanks in advance!

that rom u tried to flash is not made for the hermes
Yes, i know, But i read from barton on another thread, he used a Hima rom and it worked.
so it worked for me too. it doesn't really get to flash it. It stops at 0%.
I also flash it with active sync.
I just need to get the radio working with Sim again now.
maybe other should try what i did too.
oh oh.....its coming back to me now......installing the hima rom reformats the radio sector or something like that. i remember reading about this some time ago.....and i think pof managed to replicate that process, so you dont actually have to install the hima rom. the link is in the wiki somewhere
I tried most of the stuff on the wiki none of them work, but can you point me to it anyway? maybe i missed it.
thanks.
edit:
i tried fixing it using unlock version V3a, but it screws up my radio again.
going to try V2a next.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeProblems#problem5
here's the link, but it looks like you already tried it. see the links at the bottom of that section, the "related forum threads"
thanks but i tried that.
Ok, i reflash hima rom. and this time, i did the unlockv3a flash.
now my radio is back with the sim in.
but i lose my sim connection when i try to call.
thanks in advance.
Edit:
WHAT THE HELL!!! ARGH I'm so close!!!
the No GSM thing is random, it comes and goes away.
how can I make it stay?
thanks in advance.
I get 0% flashing now too.
Had a hellish time, my radio seems to have been dying over weeks with more and more "no gsm" message regardless of the radio version.
Tried the official t-mobile uk wm6 rom and it crashed (no percentage dialog appeared on the mobile, only the "usb" connected tri colour)
Now when I tried to go to radio 1.50 it is stuck at 0%
Eventually disconnected it and I get the tricolour now and nothing seems to work
try using Mtty, and select USB in the drop down.
Then in the cmd> area, type "set 16 0"
should bring u back to OS with radio still screwy.
then try that Hima Rom link i posted 1 page back.
When flashing the hima rom, just stop it once it says there's an error.
then flash it with a normal rom with radio.
thats how i got my radio back, but it's still screwy.
I wonder if anyone here can help out.
Thanks

FYI I have a bad block (638) which "task 2a" seems to do nothing too.
What is the proper output of a successful task 2a?
Will try the rom soon.
I downloaded the rom but neither exe works.
Sorry a bit of a noob at this.
What I do now?
did u enable active sync and use the NO-ID.exe?
note:cross post
sorry for the late reply
i have been dealing with this for 3 days and finally managed to run official AT&T rom for 4 days wout hard reset.
there is a method dumping an official himalaya rom to hermes. az pof explained in one of his posts all commands except radio commands are different in himalaya so it is safe to use dumping method.
it basically deletes everything in radio rom so you can install official rom.
PS: at first install official rom stucked %12 i said damn but in second try %15 third try; success
i am at work now i dont have the link of method but try googling or searching my posts (not too much )
i hope it solves your problem
bartan
does NO GSM still appear once in awhile?

Hi
I am back. I have been trying to rom update but no luck so far. It just stalls at 12%.
I gave up on this.
it cost 270 ish to repair it from HTC.
so i drew my phone against the wall and it felt a lot better.
still works tho.
for 270 ish, I can get a new phone.
It lives!!!!!
I used the official HTC rom including radio.
Firstly I put the phone in bootloader mode.
I then ran MTTY and executed:
Code:
USB> password BsaD5SeoA
USB> set 1e 1
USB> erase a0040000 c80000
USB> erase a0cc0000 c80000
USB> erase a1940000 640000
USB> set 1e 0
I then ran:
Code:
USB> info8 (which returned a bad block - 638)
USB> task 2a
I then closed mtty but did not reboot my phone.
I then ran the rom update utility with the rom and the phone flashed fully (give it plenty of time).
Who knows how stable it will be but damn it feels good to have my phone back.
Calls out are confirmed working so far.
Good luck all
CONGRATS!
for me None of those commands work.
I kept getting errors.

Hi everybody,
I recently bought a serial-to-miniusb cable on ebay and am expecting it to arrive in a couple of days. My intention is to reset the life timer/call duration on my polaris by using the xda manipulator. I would like to hear your opinion on this. Can I try it riskfree? Will it work?
Thanks!

Use Mitty.exe instead to RESET CALL TIMERS.
Read the guide and software are on the forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2027058#post2027058
XDA Manipulator is very unlikely to be able to reset the counters on a Polaris and trying it would be very risky.
Thank you carryo,
So it seems I will have to install olipro 1.10 . Could you please guide me through this step? I know how to turn the phone into bootloader mode. What next? Should I connect it to the PC via USB ?
Thanks again
and wouldn't it be dangerous to install this SPL olipro 1.10 on me device? I mean I am not a specialist and don't know, what's the difference between older and newer spl?
Hi buekly,
Careful that hardspl for htc hermes, tq
Well then, can anybody suggest another way to reset call timers? I have done a big search and found nothing useful...
just download that mtty.exe, flash HardSPL for Polaris and that's it
the rest is on the help page
Download ATcommander for your phone and try [email protected]=270F,270F should reset call timers to 0

You should use the HardSPL for Polaris which instead of olipro 1.10 which was a version or an older phone. You can find the file and instructions on the Sticky thread in the Polaris Upgrading etc. section. HardSPL won't damage your phone and will make sure that you can easily recover from anything else you change.
Then use Mitty.exe to reset the counters.
OK, now this is getting more and more interesting. Let me tell you about my progress. I made a Hard SPL for my Polaris. Then, I ran Atcommand. I insterted the following:
ate1----> 0
ate0----> OK
[email protected]=270f,270f ---> Error
When I saw that error, I remained quite disappointed. However when I checked the call duration in settings/device information I saw it was 00:00:00. But also, I saw in Identity that the phone doesn't have an IMEI number. So, I inserted a SIM card, made a call and, when I checke again, I saw that all the information was back, i.e. call duration back to 40 hours, IMEI reappeared. Why is that happening? These commands seem to oinly apparently remove the call duration, but when you insert a sim card, everything is back.
I tried another option, through MTTY. I disabled USB connection in Sync, turned the phone into bootloader mode, connected, ran MTTY, selected USB. But when I enter rtask b, see what I get below in the image. And that's it! After this text appears, I can't type anything else. I have to restart the MTTY.
So please help with any suggestions, cause I'm already run out of them. Thanks
which spl are you using does your spl say security unlocked at the top? If not try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351964 .I just use ATcomander to reset my timers When you use rtask b it just puts the phone in diagnostic mode you can proberly connect via a com port (after installing drivers) but i dont think we can use many AT commands with the polaris spl.

yes, I used namely this spl and this I told you what happened. Do you also have a polaris and it worked reseting timers on yours?
Yes i have a polaris and have just reset the timers with ATcommander using [email protected]=270f,270f,ATcommander should return with a 0,now all timers a 00:00:00.
The only thing i can think of is i dont think hard spl fully security unlocks under mtty try "rtask a" then "setinfo" and see if your SECU_FLAG=0.
Also what radio are you using?
no really, it isn't working:
1) when i type ate1, it gives 0, then atv1, it gives OK, then [email protected]=270f,270f it gives ERROR. I'm run out of options. I mean there's something wrong with the last command. Maybe I should change it or what? Maybe I should enter another value? I tried [email protected]=9999,9999 it also shows ERROR.
2) I tried "rtask a" in mtty, but it shows the same text as in "rtask b" (see previous attatchment).
My radio version is 1.59.42.15
OK, I tried checking secu flag
I typed "[email protected]?AA" it showed "@secu_flag 1 0" What does it mean?
@secu_flag 1 0 means your phone is not fully security unlocked i can't remember how i got mine to secu_flag 0 it was using [email protected]=2,0 or something like that.I'll have a look how, you dont need the ate or atv commands there just for displaying results.

OK then, why are the timers then resetting temporary after I introduce these commands? By temporary I mean they are back again when I insert a sim card. And also, after I introduce these commands IMEI disappears in system/device information/identity. It says "IMEI not support", and when I dial *#06# I get "Failed". When sim card inserted or phone restarted - everything reappears.
Right i found [email protected]=7,1 relocks security setting, and [email protected]=7,0 unlocks them,if [email protected]=7,0 doesn't work with your radio use the polaris unlocker and flash OliNex patched radio go through the all three steps then try [email protected]=7,0 and then [email protected]=270f,270f,I tried reseting the timers when locked and got a error,so with some hopes that will work for you ,Then flash your radio back when finished.

do you mean I should use this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375338 ?
I downloaded it, however by the end of the thread I can see a lot of complaints from users, claiming that the signal either disappeared or reduced by 80% after using it. Have you tried it?
Yer thats the one i used,as i said flash your original radio back after you have finished to 1.59.42.15 or whatever you where using because i think olinex radio is just patching the simlock i think ? but is not very good for everyday use.
