[REQ] Flute slider ? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hello!
Some time ago i asked about the Ocarina on the Iphone and if that was a possibility.
And now that i know that the Diamond dont have multi touch i was thinking of something else.
It works kinda like the ocarina, you blow in the microphone. But!
On the screen. You can grab a slider and slide it forwards for a higher pitch and the other way for a lower.
It would be great and really funny if someone could make this!

[fun] A_C famous or.. ? :)

This is a captured screen from the serial Moonlight, s01e03. I guess it's iPhone, but it LOOKS just like A_C's S2U2. So I guess it's either A_C made a damn perfect copy of it (I dont know how exactly it looks on an iPhone), or this really is his S2U2 .
Smile man, you're famous ))))))
yea S2U2 made it to look like the iphone, no surprise the real iphone should look like it, haha.
He is chinese
I'm not so sure it is an iPhone you know. The notch towards the top if the device looks more like the one on the Polaris - the iphone has a similar cut out area but it's about half way between the top of the screen and the top of the device whereas this one looks to be almost right at the top.
(Can't believe I'm entering this debate - I really must try to get out more but the nurses are still worried I'll hurt myself!)

The notch you see is from a rubber protection case for the iphone I think.
My bet, this is just an iPhone and I don't get what this topic is all about.
It's for fun, nothing serious. Sorry if this is the wrong section.
It IS an iPhone.
Just so you know, A_C designed the Slide 2 Unlock/S2U/S2U2 as a WM replica of the iPhone device lock app. iPhone is the original, A_C just made a very nice WM version of it, not the other way around.
It is a real iPhone.

X1 Screen, an advantage or a drawback ?

Dont get me wrong, i love the phone even if i have some issues.
after playing with the X1 for several days now i come to think if the 3inch WVGA screen really is a big advantage or a drawback.
Why?
Well, WVGA is a nice resolution but i think the screen is just a bit too small for it. It would work great on the Touch HD with its huge screen.
See comparision: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=128435&d=1226196066
When doing stuff in windows there are many situations when buttons etc are so damn small that you would even have trouble to exactly reach them with your stylus, let alone your finger. In Opera you can see alot more of the page with the high res, but you can hardly read anything without zooming, which i think wouldnt have to be done on the Touch HD.
In IE which doesnt support zooming, standard links are so small its hard to even hit them with the stylus.
Then we have the apps and games. Many of the games especially are made for VGA or QVGA and i dont think they will ever be ported to WVGA because the Aspect Ratio would just be wrong. So the games either dont run at all (Another World/Worms) or only use VGA res and leave the rest black (Age of Empires, Emulators) which again results into a very tiny viewport where its hard to read and hit anything.
Furthermore the screen is resessed, which i thought wouldnt bother me much, but cleaning up the dirt from the edges all the time is quite annoying...
So the final question comes to my mind: Is the 3inch WVGA screen really an advantage ? I dont know but i come to think it isnt.
Since my device has a hardware defect and is going back, i wonder if i should get a X1 again or maybe try the Touch Pro which has a slighty lower resoultion and 4:3 aspect ratio.
Given the shape of the device they couldnt have used another display size and resolution i guess, because to use VGA they would have to make the device wider, maybe thats a reason they used it.
What do you think ? Which real benefits does this screen have ?
I like it very much. I can read everything and get some more informations on the screen. For me it's not too small. The software I use works fine with wvga. Just in Worms World Party the edge is cut, but this doesn't bother me, I play very seldom. For Videos it's great, the black bars are now quite small so no wasted screenspace.
I have to say I have no problem reading anything when zoomed out and I don't have problems hitting buttons either. Links can be a bit of an issue in web pages but I would rather have a smaller device to be honest. I have to admit I have small hands and if I had big fingers I may well think otherwise!
The recessed screen is a bit of a shame but I will fit a screen protector and not worry about the dirt!
If I didn't want the keyboard then I would go with a touch HD. I didn't like the diamond at all and haven't had a chance to play with a touch pro yet.
i can also still read text when not zoomed in and hit the buttons...its not that i have bad eyes...
its just that i think the reading experience isnt really great...take for example the standard on screen keyboard, thats so small you even have to concetrate to hit it with the stylus.
On the Touch HD this resolution should work out great while surfing etc, but that doesnt have a keyboard :/
How should a Screen Protector keep the dirt away btw ? It will just be on the screen protector instead...still can go into the edges.
How did you get Worms to run ? With WVGA Fix ? Without it doesnt work for me.

Just installed and started it, no wvga fix or whatever.
hm will have to try that again then...which version did you use?
the viewport will be VGA however which would certainly be alot smaller than on the Touch Pro for example.

I agree it is small but I have to say I don't mind... If you want to use a keyboard why wouldn't you use the slide out hardware one?
I use a matt protector and it doesn't show dirt as much as the shiny screen.
I was wondering about games, I will give worms a go
TBH I was 50:50 about xperia or Touch HD and decided I wanted to try a hardware keyboard. I am sure the HD is also a great device.

Worms WP 1.0.4
You are a business-user? Than nothing compares with the WVGA even at 3". You get much more things to be read than at VGA. Had a look at AgendaFusion? Much more to see at WVGA at one view. Less scrolling, better overview.
You are working with text/excel? With softmaker office you can see the overview of a complete wide of a page and are able to see details! Much easier than on VGA.
You have banking software as Subsembly Banking? Much more to see at one view too!
Contacts? Much more without scrolling.
There are lots of situations every day giving WVGA an advantage over VGA. 3" WVGA are better for business than 2,8" VGA. And 3,8" often ist too big to carry with yourself.
I am using WVGA for over one year now (with my Toshiba G900) and I would not change back to VGA.
And for daily use I have created my own theme with WisbarAdvancedDesktop2 that fits my needs, is fingerfriendly and running very fast. Nothing more needed
I like the screen size. It's a phone, not a laptop and I'm confident that new panel UIs will solve the problem of tiny buttons all over the place.
But recessing the screen was stupid. Don't know what they were thinking

IDEA - Marble Madness with G-Sensor

Came accross this
and it got me thinking, marble madness must be one of THE killer apps for G-sensor support
http://www.handango.com/catalog/Pro...9&deviceId=1152&platformId=30&productId=31651
Can anyone do it ?
the gods answered your prayer  http://www.4pockets.com/product_info.php?p=108
and it's great tbh ! =)
Not that good...
Is it me, or does the 'marble' just look like it's sliding along rather than actually rotating? Great idea, but the ball effects need a bit of work. At least with Teeter, the ball looks like its rolling, not sliding! Just my opinion
i think they took the images from the iPhone and carried them over since the graphics are not true VGA resolution and I find it noticeable. It's a fun game though...just can't sit on top of the screen I'm still a fan or Resco's Bubbles.
Yeah, and only costs $2.99 to get it for an iPhone, $14.95 or $14.99 for the rest of us losers.

Sony Ericsson X1 or HTC Touch HD?

which would you guys pick...BUT DISREGARD THE KEYBOARD PART...just simply everything else other than the hardware keyboard....which would you guys choose
The Touch HD, bigger screen, no cracks in case, g-sensor etc.
Indeed. Generalized a lot, the Touch HD is an X1 with a bigger screen and without keyboard.
I chose the xperia because of looks keyboard and I what really made the difference that I found a really cheap 2nd hand phone still in the box.
My friend has the Touch hd and it's also very nice but I really like the keyboard.
If that doesnt matter to you, you should choose the HD.
which one has better battery life?thanks.

Definately the Xperia, so far at least. I think it´s partly due to the HD screen taking much more power and that the bttery is smaller in the HD. I love them both though...
Touch HD: Big screen, accelerometer
Xperia: Hardware keyboard
xperia for me.
they keyboard, the metal case, the extra buttons (optical pad, d-pad and probably teh OK button (acts as close and so on ...)
the HD has by far the better/ bigger screen, but it doesnt feel liek a cellphone after all. its a little bit to big for my taste. xperia fits my hand better.
having a gyro is fun but its not like u realy need it. i abrley used gyro features in my old phones. defacto i disabled them cause they rotated my screen when i didnt want to.
if u realy dont want a keyboard, gor for the HD.
For me the Xperia is the choice for me
1. Smaller
2. Opital pad is awesome for browsing & emails and means the screen stays clean
3. battery life is brilliant
4. Screen res is better, just smaller
5. Camera is much better. Proves pixels aren't everything. Has a light too!
6. Build quality and being all metal is nice (but heavier)
My bro loves his HD as he watches heaps of movies, so the bigger screen is a clear winner if this is your need.
Listen, both are great devices and it really depends on your needs.
Good luck.

So I wasn't the only one who had this dilemma, I was thinking exactly the same, like all previous replies, they are basically the same in terms of specs. I really like the big screen on the HD but I went for the X1 only because O2 doesn't bloody sell the HD directly and it means I would have to pay GBP15 extra a month for the line rental if I went for the HD... so the decision for me was I love my money more than a bigger screen. Also, the keyboard on the X1 is really good, although I think the virtual keyboard would probably be as good. I would say if you don't have any loyalty waiting for you from your network provider, then go for the HD, but I would guess the battery might not be as good. My X1 can last up to 3 whole days with normal usage (couple of calls, good few texts, messing about, and some internet).
Sure whichever you go for, you will have loads of fun.
Its really unfair to disregard the keyboard, because the X1 relies on this aspect of its design so firmly. Most would choose the HD over the Xperia if the keyboards are disregarded, but i don't think its fair to leave out one phone's strong point in a comparison. The X1 has a keyboard and one has to consider this when making a purchase choice, there is no changing that. Either way, i would go with the Xperia, its screen is more sensitive, it has at least one US 3G band either model, it has that awesome metal finish and really beautiful design, and is just so smooth and stylish overall, as well as having that huge battery.
when the THD was announced i did consider it along with the X1. but the size of the thing just puts me off..
its so wide across and taller than the X1. ive held the iphone and it didnt feel good in my palm. and the THD is slightly wider...
I was unsure of which to take from those 2, but i got the xperia and now after nearly 2 weeks i am satisfied with my decision, i wanted a bigger display for video but opted for a hardware keyboard and a light flash (HD no flash at all).
Now i find myself happy with it, the hardware keyboard is useful when i want to type more than 2-3 words, lot easier than onscreen keyboard.
so how about the web surfing?i saw video shows that x1's opera won't reflow text when zoom, does that cause any inconvenience?
i would go for the hd.. bigger screen. i do like the x1 for being small but if the x1 screen was 3.2 or 3.5 than it would almost be perfect for me.
in my eyes right now, the most ideal phone for me would be
the Xperia with a 3.2-3.8" screen
8-10mp camera with Xenon Flash
and
hadware keyboard lol
i know..i know..i can only keep dreaming

haha, I would love that, size has never been a problem for me when it comes to phones, although I was forced to have the horrible C092 (insurance replacement after having lost my W960) but based on your requirements, the phone would probably be the size of a netbook, but the price of a proper computer...
Does anyone else here think having a bigger phones nowadays is more stylish than having those tiny mobile phones?
Also I agree being a woman with slightly smaller hands, I think the X1 is probably the biggest I can handle with pleasure, I have always liked the iphone (being a Mac user) but the size is a bit of an issue...
After all, I am bitter coz I didn't even have a chance to choose the HD coz O2 doesn't do it... I think it's fair to say it all depends on if you like coffee to tea, both tasty and keep you awake...
Xperia for me cos...
1.Optical pad etc buttons, better handle music in -5° with u gloves on +Faster to handle
2.Better sound? Dont know never heard HD's sound quality, but in X1 it's just awesome.
3.Better battery.
4.qwerty-keyboard.
5.Looks better, imo, metal case etc.
6.Smaller.
But HD is great also.

New to HTC Touch Pro 2

Hi all.. I would appreciate if someone could help me out.
I just bought the HTC Touch Pro 2 for my father (with Sprint). He's an old man and his eyesight isn't that sharp. The fonts on this phone are ridiculously small for him. I don't quite understand how to install or change themes on this phone. I did a little research online so I have to install TF3D config file onto the phone..and then download a theme to apply...? I just want to make sure. His biggest concerns are font size and also the color of the dial pad (white background with black font). They are hard for him to see. He doesn't seem to have a problem with anything else. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it a lot

Why didnt you bought him a ferrari? he might be happier.
Good luck with settings.
I was thinking of returning it and buying him the HTC EVO 4G instead.
=/
That is much better. Iit has bigger screen.
There is a 42" touch screen availible, try that one.
I have the EVO, it's much easier to customize. I'll have to talk to Sprint about exchange options. Thanks anyway!
Is the HTC Hero any good? That's another phone that Sprint carries.

Did you try changing the font size to the largest?
