Unintentional turn-on in the Jamin?

I've tried to do a search on this problem, but nothing came up. Maybe I'm searching the wrong keyword. If someone know anything about this, please advise. I got the Jamin recently, I pretty much went right into installing the 2nd ROM (vs the recent 3rd ROM). So I have nothing to compare to. For whatever reason, my Jamin keeps turning on by itself every few minutes. Not only that, it won't automatically turn off using the Power setting. Whenever it's time to turn off (ie, after 1min), the thing automatically turns on again (with the backlight on). I'm not sure if this is a ROM problem, a hardware problem, or software imcompatibility. Please help.

I've also had this happen on my Prophet - it seemed to fix itself after a while, but I also had the problem:
press power button to turn off
press power button to turn on, and backlight was off
couldn't get the backlight on again except going through the backlight settings!
I did fix this using...

Run this app on your prophet, and your backlight is back to normal.
I've found this problem in a number of threads - I'm updating them as I find the solution!

Volume (phone and rings) decreas to ZERO by itself.

Hi, I've a qtek 9090 with helmi WM6.1
the volume (phone and rinds) decrease from normal to ZERO by itself and for some minutes i can't increase it, because it decrease again.
How can i exclude the button of the volume or use a program that control the volume.

I've opened my qtek and i have moved up and down the slider switch and goes well.
But sometimes (1 every hour...) the volume decrease to zero by itself again...
How can I exclude the volume slider switch, and use only a new program to set the volume of the phone and of the rings?

Rather software problem. If you use some profile managers - check your settings. You may try to do hard reset and then check.

i have hinstall the rom of sun dream but it's quite the same,
there isn't a program that excude the colume swith and do the same thinks by software?

it seems that this is hardware button problem and not woftware one, do the only logical way is to disonnect the volume slider button ...

I do have the same problem, but until now I thought that this is a HW problem...
I also have a problem with the volume at the phone. Sometimes the volume is OK, but sometimes I can't hear anything until I'll push the screen gently/hardly.
The SW-volume is still at middle for both (phone and device).
Open and cleaning didn't fix the problem...

Hi, my BA have the same trouble with volume up slider.
I tryed to hardreset and upgrade rom but it does not help. Opening cover and cleaning also do not fix the problem.
Last, I removed the main battery and wait about 1 hour until the backup battery is empty completely.
After power up again, my BA resets and ... operates normally.
I guess, some critical data is changed randomly in my BA by unknown reasons. The changing remains in memory of BA because of the backup battery. Hardreseting or rom upgrading did not restore the data. May be it likes CMOS of PC ?

2 minor issues with HD MINI:

as some of you may know, i received my HD MINI in italian language....
thanks to some help from this forum, ive been able to install BSB tweaks and now about 25% of my phone is in english..
im wondering if any of you can tell me WHERE in my phone i can set the settings for the below problems, as most of my menus are still written in italian:
1. when i set an alarm, the alarm will only ring ONCE (approx. 5 seconds), it's like the alarm ringtone sound file doesnt loop
2. i dont hear any sounds when i receive an incoming SMS message, my phone just flashes the green LED in the top corner. The phone isnt on silent mode though, because regular calls ring

the way i managed to change mine was to go to settings, then press menu and go to all settings. next (at the top) press notifications, then change the event to "message - new message" and you should be able to tick "play sound"

my phone is in italian, and i cannot understand all the menus fully, but im pretty sure i checked the box for sound under the subsection of "nuovo messagio" but still doesnt work

Mine is Italian as well, so the path is:
Impostazioni / Toni e display / Suoni di Notifica
The option Nuovo messagio must be in Att, and if you press there, you can select the sound you want. Also the setting Vibrazione must be either in off or att, but never in Solo.
Then check that the volume is not down or too low (with the volume rocker).
If all above is ok, it should work.

Maybe its related to similar problems i had in the past after changing the language?

Its a HD2 topic but i worked for my Touch HD, hopefully it works for you as well.

mini HD same problems.
Well i got the mini HD in Greek language which is my language so there is no way i get messed up in the menus.
I observed the same issue with the alarm and after a lot of tries i observed that the alarm fails due to sleeping mode of the phone.The 30 sec on for display strangles the alarm ,which is working ok if the phone is connected to external power with an option of display sleeping mode longer than that with no connected to external power.
In addition to this the second issue you talk about is probably born from the same point as the sms alert works just fine when the phone is on but nothing sounds when the phone is in sleeping mode.
I have tried all in the settings but nothing .
Probably its a software problem that htc should know and fix it.
By the way have you observed a diminuated signal of your phone provider? The signal to me seems as looping from one line to four more constantly on one in an area that all the family phones get the most power signal constantly.
I have just sent an email to htc.If i got any answer i will let you know.

Solved the issues
It seems i found a way to solve the issues described above as my thought about the sleeping mode problem seems to be right.
Well a the power setting you have to choose the potion for backlight page control.Then uncheck the auto reglation of display light and let a value of 80% for both options battery and external power.Then check back the auto reglation for the back light . now you have to increase the time values using battery for decreasing light on display at 2min and turn off at 5min. use the same values for eternal power also
Then using path settings ,menu right bottom,option for more,sound and notifications,notifications , you access the page where rolling down the happening bar you get the option for new message.After some tries i can say that not all the tones are working properly.for example dont use Alarm-VeryHigh .It wont work. Try the tone Notify and check the playing option and the display message option.
With these settings the alarm should work for 2 minutes loopig normaly and the sms will sound when it comes.
Try it sending a message to yourself turning off the display by the top power button immediately after you send the message.
Hope I helped.I mstill waiting an answer to the email i sent to htc.Hope thet resolve the issues with an upgraded rom as it seems its a software problem.
By the way the clarifing sound issue you may have can be solved with the update given by htc to the official site .Dont forget to set a volume value to 80%.

Hi, as i ve written before i communicated with htc ,they proposed to go to service. Afterall i had the opportunity to talk with the technician of htc who explained me how the issues would be resolved after a software upgrade.
So they did the job , upgrated my device and now works great.
One thing i am courious about is that after i got the device back i checked the official site and there is nothing there as upgrade. So by now if you have the same issues you have to go to htc service.

Xmm i have the same problem in SMS . Have not idea yet how to fix it

I tested with the new patch but not luck . still no sound when i receive a sms

WHY dont you read the previous messages? This problems were common to many users and will be resolved with the updated 30/06/10 rom from htc site.

System/ring volume problem

Hey guys,
long time reader but first time poster...I did a search and couldn't really find a solution for my problem. Whenever I put my phone on vibration and change it back to normal my system/ring volume only goes up to 13%. I would than manually change it to 100% but whenever I receive calls, messages, notifications, etc on my phone the system/ringer volume seems to be "stuck" at 13% because it's very low (even tho it says 100% in Sound & Display). My only solution so far is to soft reset my phone and that usually fixes the problem but it gets annoying having to do this every time I change between vibrate to normal profiles. I've tried turning on/off the Single volume option but it didn't work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

yes I have the same problem and its getting on my nerves it just randomly started too

No one could post the solution for this problem.........
Its really annoying to soft reset the phone only to get the ringer volume up.

Screen Freeze

Hello, I am experiencing a new problem since the 2 last updates ( last one was 12.1-YOG4PAS3AJ ) as the screen freezes randomly. Mostly when receiving a call which is very annoying as you cannot answer. So I have to reboot the phone 3 to 4 times a day. I am now thinking about switching to ZUI as I use the phone as my daily driver.
Anyone experiencing a similar case?

Screen freeze
I just bought this phone yesterday and I also have same update and the screen goes off and comes on while taking calls and ending calls.

Any solution for this problem? I face this problem even when i turned off adaptive brightness

I just did as you suggested, it is now working fine. I guess the bug still exists.

i have the same problem :'( ,, sometimes phone doesnt wake up from sleep , and sometimes after a call the touch stops working but buttons work .

Any solution or work around? Did you use any short key for long press of home/back button? I felt whenever i use lock screen as a option when i long press home/back button, i am hitting this issue. Please confirm @hwoarang626 & @Glops4.

I tried the long press home for screen off.. But i dont encounter tbe issue... I only get it some times after a call

it happened 2wice then i enabled adaptive brightness and stopped using double tap 2 wake and it didnt happen again .

After last update I cant use fingerprints capasitive button as back button. I couldnt find any settings. Please help me. Thanks

I have left the buttons default, and do not use the 2 tap to wake screen.

The settings I use are Adaptative Brightness on and LiveDisplay off. Never had a screen freeze since.
And long press back button didn't help either.

I have also got the same problem with freezing the screen.
I can't say on wich time it will happen. It happend radomly.
Currently my version of android is:
Cyanogen OS: 12.1-YOG4PAS3OH
Kernel: 3.4.0-Cyanogenmod-gef06bf8 (build date 28 of october 2015)
I have got this mobile for a week now, didn't tweak with this device.
Does somebody fix this problem?
