TomTom Cab Troubles - XPERIA X1 General

I either get some sort of TomTom message about the phone/version not being supported or I get "installation of "..." was unsuccessful.
I believe I've tried every cab of TT7 out there as well... can't get any to work.
This thread is not about maps.

Hard reset fixed it... end of thread.

when i starts it a second time it trays to start but ends up whith "unable to start. an error occured accessing file". Then i have to delete the file named navigator and run the guide and it work´s one time again.
Dont try Kaiser Tomtom on Niki
I think I found the problem. Uninstall the cab for Kaiser Tomtom and install standard tomtom 603
And it works just fine except for the videodriver that sucks.

TomTom 7 error message

After installing TomTom 7 (Version 7.450.9028) together with the map folder Western_and_Central_Europe-v7.20.1803, I was guided through the initial settings questions as well as a tour of the program. On starting TomTom (after the flush screen had been shown), I now get this error message:
Unable to start
Not enough memory is available
B***it! There are 277 MB on the system and 2 GB on the storage card available.
A soft reset has of course been done.
How can I get rid of the error message, what do I have to do in order to use TomTom properly?
Edit: I have seen all the other threads about this issue. Still, I don't find a solution for myself.
you need the newer version and it will fix you issue. also use cleartemp tool to delete temp files!

I had this version before, but it has small keyboard when trying to choose POI. Also the splash screen is a little ugly as it does not cover the entire screen. No big deal, but why not use 7.910?
With both version, I could run Garmin in the background while Tom Tom remains quick. No lags whatsover. So, something is holding up causing the error message.

TomTom Problem with R3A

Hey Guys,
on the R2A-ROM I used TT 7.915.9196 successfully.
Now i've upgraded today to the R3A and installed the same Version with the same Installer again.
I installs perfectly but when I start it i got the error:
"Your device is not compatible with this version of TomTom NAVIGATOR!"
What should/can I do?
Thanks guys
Did you install TomTom orginally on your Memory Card? If so everything is still there, just a link in your StartMenu is missing. Have a look for \Storage Card\Program Files\Navigator\TomTom Navigator.exe and you can just run it from there.
Yes, try that! It should work because it worked on mine, same version, etc.!

May I ask: does it refer to all the apps installed on memory card? I mean - after a FW upgrade it's enough to just run it?

I've got exactelly the same Problem: Message appears:
"Your device is not compatible with this version of TomTom NAVIGATOR!"
I reinstalled it, but still the same Problem.
Which Version do you use?
Hey Guys,
i've tested to start the exe from the old installation, but the message still appears.
Any ideas?
I'm using TomTom 7.910.9185 with no problems!
Also TT 7.915.9196 working successfully!

Perhaps because you messed it now up with that installation and some files are changed.
Since I installed tt7 on the memory card, I don't need any installer ever again. No matter if reset or flash. Just pop in the sd card and I run the tt7.exe again. This will automatically run tt7 as if it never was off. (unless you changed the phone/imei no need for new serials with the maps either!)
As to the question if that goes for all other apps, some! Some need a serial again, some don't. Perhaps because some apps put a reg file on the stick. The others will run after a reinstallation creates the necessary reg entries in the phone again.

With R3A??
If yes, then please PM to me with the installer. Thanks
;-)
looks like not all installation packages do work. A had good results with a package called black, which installed directly on the device. another package blue with additional folders for voices included did not work with installation path on the card. maybe that is helpful for others as well.

Intalling Tom Tom 5 on WM6.5

I have just upgraded to esfane's WM6.5 GE (great ROM!!!) and can't get TT5 to install. When I click "Install application" TT crashes (works fine under WM2003SE). If I copy the .cab to the device, it installs to almost the end and gives an install failure message.
I seem to recall reading about this issue under WM6.1 last year but 2 days of searching have not revealed an answer.
I don't want to upgrade to another TT version because that means buying it again.
does anyone have advise?
Cheers

TomTom Navigator 7: intermittent failure to start

On a T-Mobile Compact V with TomTom Navigator 7, I frequently get a failure message:
"A problem has occurred with TomTom navigator.exe"
The start of the error report is:
Bucket Parameters

I try to start it maybe 5 or 6 times with the same message - and then it works OK. Any ideas?
I had a smiliar problem with TomTom 7.916.9189. I uninstalled TomTom and deleted the folder manually and another softreset. Then found some leftovers in registry and also deleted them.
Then i could install Tomtom againg and it worked.
Be sure that you use the vga/wvga version.
I had a similar problem. I didnt see an error, but I would have to start TT a number of times before it actually started.
After I upgraded to 65. and reinstalled TT, I no longer get this problem. Sorry I cant help. I dont know what the cause was.
Thanks both of you. It seems that a reinstall solves it. I had trouble getting TTN7 to run on it, so I will hold out for a quicker fix. Does anyone know of a simple registry edit?
By the way, I am running with the sound fix but I get the same problem running TTN7 directly.
