Audio Booster with Bluetooth Headsets - Touch HD General

This is a response from HTC:
Dear valued HTC customer, Thank you for contacting our Customer Support Center. We are dedicated to providing you with the best quality service and answering all of your questions and concerns. You recently wrote us about an issue that you have encountered with your device. To clarify your issue, you stated that you do not feel your question was answered. As previously stated, and to answer your question: The Audio booster was Never designed to work with Bluetooth headsets, there are no plans currently to change this functionality. If the above steps do not resolve your issue, we invite you to visit the support area on our Web site.

Damn, i just got myself a TDK-100 and was posed with the same issue (only i have a HTC Touch Diamond).
Hmm maybe there's a hack that can trick it into thinking there's a headset plugged in?
It's a hassel because all the 3rd party players i've tried (Pocket Music, PocketTunes, MortPlayer etc.) don't support A2DP [i think] properly (ie. controls on BT remote don't work).
The quality of the WMP w/ the audio booster is quite acceptable as it uses minimal system resources and the controls work.

There is a hack - you can set Audio Booster to be enabled regardless of the headset state in Advanced Config/HD Tweak, or by editing the registry.
The bad news, however, is that it doesn't work with BT audio anyway - guess different drivers are used.

Hack doesn't work properly
Even when you hack it, you can't use the Equalizer properly. Audio Booster will start but it will not work properly. I've tried this dozens times!

Must say there is one player that works very good with bluetoth and that is pocket player..http://www.conduits.com/products/player/ u can try it out

gotta wonder why they didnt design it to work with bt. pretty poor imo. i cant imagine its liike a radio which needs an antenna

Conduits Pocket Player on Touch HD with BT headsets
When trying to use Conduits PPlayer with my BT headsets I can use the remote to change the volume, but when I try to change to another song, TouchFLO3D gets the BT command, I mean, Pocket Player won't skip songs because my BT send the command to TouchFLO3D

This works in PocketPlayer with use of the WMplayer plugin. Have a search on the Conduits site (I use a set of SD9 with my Touch HD and can change tracks using the headset buttons)

Just a thought on Bluetooth

Maybe this a silly idea but I was wondering if it would be possible to simply redirect the sound going to the speaker, when we play MP3, to go to the bluetooth headset by adjusting a parameter in the registry.
Let me explain my rationale. I recently installed a bluetooth toggle on my pc and paired it to my Jabra 258. I started the media player and was expecting mono sounds to come out of my earpiece. Of course nothing happened until I went to the options in the media player to send the sound to my bluetooth device instead of the sound card and voila I got sound.
Now of course no such option exists on the mobile media player but perhaps there is a registry setting that can be adjusted to send to the bluetooth instead of using the internal speaker.
I realise that this would be then hard coded and to play back to the speaker would mean adjusting the parameter in the registry but its better than nothing. I also realise that it would not solve our headset issue but having read through all the forums with regards to widcomm, bluesoil etc the embedded BT stack still has not been overcome.
I also undertsand the need for an audio gateway stack but from a laymans point of view it does sound simple.
I love my O2 XDA II mini that has been transformed into QTEK, I-Mate and then Anasky and half the fun is playing with the rom and the machine to get the best out of it. I don't really care much for WM 2005 but if some bluetooth issues can be resolved then its the perfect machine for me (apart from the camera).
Heres Hoping
Best regards to all and keep up the good work

Wireless Stereo problem on 8125?

Hey, humans!
After searching through the forums for a couple of days, I thought I would go ahead and post to ask if anyone has a fix for the following problem...
I recently purchased the Jabra BT 620s stereo Bluetooth headphones, tapped the A2DP cabs, and got wireless stereo working (along with all of the buttons and the mic) right away.
Unfortunately, every time I turn off the headphones and reconnect them, they connect to the phone as "Hands-Free" only. In this state, I can use the answer/call/play/pause/etc. buttons and the mic, but audio is delivered through the 8125's speakers and not the headset. To fix it, I have to open the BT settings, click on the Jabra phones, Refresh (because it still says that the set is connected as "Hands-Free" and "Wireless Stereo"), and reactivate "Wireless Stereo" every time I want to listen to music.
Is there any trick/registry tweak that could help me bypass this extra step? Oh, and does anyone know of a media player that doesn't hog my resources like WMP, uses AVRCP, and can play streams?
Thanks in advance!
In response to my own (2nd) question...I've read that TCPMP respondes to AVRCP commands.
Does anyone know how to get them to work with the Jabra BT 620s headphones?
I'm continuing to look for a solution to my problem and find an alternative to WMP10, which sucks up so much memory.
I have finally managed to get Pocket Player 2.72 (http://www.conduits.com/products/player/download.asp) working with AVRCP. Although it is supposed to work right out of the box, I tried using it and received no feedback from the Jabra BT 620s's buttons.
While looking for a WMP today plugin -- one that I had hoped would have a smaller footprint while still allowing AVRCP controls to function -- I came across a post and eventually found a .dll for Pocket Player that allows me to use my Jabra's controls to influence the player.
Unfortunately, Pocket Player is a woefully bad player (even worse than WMP10 in my opinion!) and I can't get much use out of it because it “skips” constantly and forces the screen back on (it doesn't automatically shut off again) with every command from the headphones. However, for everyone who prefers PP and can't get Bluetooth to work through it, trying downloading this rar file (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=19163), unrar'ing it, and placing the enclosed .dll in your Pocket Player directory.
I personally really like pocket player, but you need to wait for v2.73 out soon apparently. If you go to conduits forum you can see alot of info on this issue.
I find it plays beautifully thru iTech Clip R35 (I admit I have a different device ie jamin).
But to your first point, I still have that problem as well, I have to manually switch on the bluetooth stereo option, I haven't found a solution for that yet.
cheers

Hi, I just bought the BT-620s and have exactly the same problem you have mentioned, otherwise a great BT headset.
Did you ever manage to find a fix for this problem?

BT Headset works for calls but not music??

I have a 8125 with a Nokia BH-600 bt headset. It works great when talking on the phone but I really want to listen to music too...
Is it possible to play music through the Nokia BT headset?
I have Media Player, Sound Recorder, and the CORE movie player but none of them play sound through the Nokia BH-600 headset! I also have a Moto H700 if that makes a difference.
Thanks!
I am not an expert on this topic so someone can correct me if im wrong, but you cannot play music through your bluetooth headset unless the headset is A2DP compatible. You also need the A2DP hack that can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263735&page=7
Anyway, to get an A2DP headset, look on eBay; you can normally find them for around 60-80 shipped, for a quality one. The hack is a cab file that just needs to be installed before pairing the headset.
Hope that helps.
Being dumb here... how does this hack work?
I posted the link in my above post. Basically, just download the hack, copy it over to you phone, and click on it using file explorer and it will install. I am pretty sure it just adds to registry tweaks and DLL certificates, but I am not 100% sure. All i know is that is works great! After the install and a soft reset, when you pair a A2DP headet, it will have the option for setting as wireless stereo. Take a look at the thread above for more information.
Ah, so then any audio that that gets produced on the phone gets streamed on to the BT headset?
Sounds promising. I was wondering if there was a way to get navigation commands to go through my car BT kit.
I also wanted to be able to do that, as I have a bluetooth speakerphone in my car. I do no think this is possible with just a regular bluetooth headset or speakerphone.
However, I do think if you have an A2DP headset the navigation sound will come through. I am not sure if your car kit is a speaker phone or a headset, but if you prefer a speakerphone in the car (as I do), I highly doubt it's possible, because I dont think anyway speakerphone is A2DP enabled. Nevertheless, people on this forum have done more amazing things so search around, you may find something.
And yes you are correct, after the pairing, any audio that gets produced by your phone will come via the headset (hence my thinking for navigation working with A2DP headsets)
Hmm, i have got a parrot ck3000. Not sure if it is A2DP compatible. Is this hack/cab file uninstallable? lol, im asking so many questions! I think i might just give it a try.
Heres a question (as these forums are a mess and i can never find anything), Is A2DP included in any of the latest roms? I am running the AKU2 rom that t-mobile last released, so i assume that some of the cooked roms are miles better.
your options
There are 2 ways to approach this issue:
1.) A2DP hack or updated ROM (for the best possible sound quality) needs an A2DP compatible headset/headphones or home BT transceiver.
2.) Mono BT hack for BT headset (you lose Voice Dial) has the lesser sound quality of the mono audio channel (the one you hear when on a phone call) See this tutorial for more details and options.
I highly recommend any and all BlueTooth articles by Menneisyys one of our Moderators.
See his articles on BlueTooth and more here.
Awsome! Thanks for the link to that article. I will give the BTAudioNav a try to see if this works how i want it to! Coolio! Thanks
Ah balls it. It looks like its just another constant streaming program. Shame, i would have loved to just get the commands to be said and then the radio wont be contantly cut out.
my 2cents
Just installed this .cab on my wizard (o2 xda mini s, G3 un-updated at all.)
Works a treat, I'd foolishly bought a a2dp headset without checking compatibility and now it is compatable.

music on bt??

I don't know if this is the right section but.............
I have a bluetooth earpiece paired with my device (elfin) wich works great for calls but i would also hear music with it but can only get it to work with a stereo one. Is there any way to get music through my "mono" bt headset???
It is impossible for me to use a stereo headset so i would like some help from you all.......
Thanks
Well it seems that i'm the only one having this problem since 30 of you have seen this post but untill now no answers............. i'll wait a bit more

well you can use music over bt software.. do a googling nd u can find the same....
Thanks, found something will try it out
alright
The way I solved the same problem was by installing Conduits Pocket Player. I installed to my card, just to save space, but can be installed to the device, not too hungry memory-wise. It is actually a very nice player overall with finger scrolling and full selection and browsing features. I use it instead of WMP and wish someone would integrate it into a ROM and remove the blasted WMP altogether. It has an option of sending your music to your bluetooth mono headset. In fact, I installed it on all of my WM devices for that very purpose.
But the question I have is whether someone knows of Java software that will send music to a mono bluetooth set on my LG Prada. Or... a working java mp3 player with the same function. Anyone?
works great, best solution so far thank you very much
Glad to be of assistance

Help! Bluetooth never connects A2DP Stereo automatically !!

Hi! This issue has plagued me ever since i am using windows mobile. I own a TOUCH HD (though i think this issue is also with other windows mobiles) and a A2DP Stereo bluetooth headset from Sony.
http://images.google.nl/imgres?imgu...ox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=N&um=1
Now here's the problem. When I pair the phone with the Headset, it pairs the 2 services HANDSFREE & WIRELESS STEREO. Then i can listen to music via the headset.
When i turn the headset off and then back on again, it switches on the HANDSFREE ONLY !! And i have to go thru the following process to turn on the WIRELESS STEREO again:
1. on phone, click on Bluetooth Devices
2. select the headset device to view the 2 services (handsfree and wirless stereo). Both are selected. Deselect the Wireless Stereo service.
3. SAVE
4. on phone, click on Bluetooth Devices
5. select the headset device to view the 2 services (handsfree and wirless stereo). Re-select the Wireless Stereo service.
6. SAVE
Then it works again and i can listen to my music again.
Its a very annoying process and I wish someone could help me to explain if there is a faster way? Does everyone also have to go thru this process or am i doing something wrong?
Does there exist a program that can automate this process or any other solution?
looking forward to replies!
there are more than one small app to make it easy.i found one that works on my HD. uploaded for you here:

next time try and do a search....
thanks a lot! It actually works! cant imagine why microsoft creates an OS without this built in as standard !
thanks.

I have a same problem with my car audio, but when i install this BT program in lower post they connect me only to handsfreee, and when i go to play music they disconnected my car BT audio.
Just for you interest - this does NOT make A2DP work.
Mirror site please!!!

Can someone please mirror this download, my limit is up on.
Here is the source.
I got it downloaded, and here is the developers web site
http://trianglepowers.com/PPC
(sorry all, could not find an edit for my last post)
Pair your stereo headset and select the Heaset and Wireless Stereo profiles, this will work from start.
Next time you turn on your stereo headset it will only connect as standard headset (ie mono for phone calls)....
Just press the play/pause button on your headset and it will auto connect to A2DP stereo also.
Simple EH?
Tried that!
I have tried that, and do it on my laptop (another set and stereo profile only), it may be dependent on the headset you are using.
The Triangle Powers BT Stereo is mono output only, and made the audio quality poor on my HD. http://trianglepowers.com/PPC/ViewApp.aspx?ID=52
I installed teksoft A2DP Toggle 1.1 this morning http://teksoftco.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1885 and added it to the program button in TouchFlo, not the today screen. it seems to work fine if you press the button twice, better than 7 clicks. (My HD info in the signature, Telstra TouchFlo replaced by Standard HD)

If pushing the Play/Pause does not connect a previously paired BT Stereo Headset to your HD then it is not a true A2DP profile headset.
See if you can get your hands on a pair of folding Sony DR-BT22 headphones.
True A2DP with built in mike to answer incoming calls. Bass is very good and full funtion with the HD.
Highly recommended.

Agree
You guys are correct, the smaller headsets that try to share the Play/Answer/end button are probably the issue.
I have been using A2Dp Toggle 1.1 as mentioned and link above and it works great, no loss of sound noticed.
We should start an XDA (not just HTC) WiKi to list headsets that connect or not for WM5 and WM6.
HD Compatible Headphone
I have a Sony DR-BT50 headphone that works beautifully. The sound is brilliant for Music and particuarly movies that I have transferred from DVD to the HD with MP4HT4HD!
I never thought that i would watch a movie on a screen so small but the clarity is something else and the high audio signal with the bluetooth headphones make it a pleasure! Great for long layovers at airports etc.
Any in-ear types that work?
All the sets that I have seen posted as working are the full headphone (over ear) types, and this may again be a shared button thing.
Does anyone have / know of an in-ear / earbud type that works / connects correctly
A2DP Toggle 1.1
I dowmloade that A2DP Toggle 1.1 on my phone. I use HTC TYTN1 running Windows Mobile 6 Professional and this software gives hell to say the least.
When I connect it to my headset, it works fine BUT it does not pay MP3s on my headset. It keeps on saying ERR on the icon of the head speakers (the second icon form bluetooth icon). I even asked most of the technician but no one knows anythings. If anyone knows what my probles is, please rescue me!!!
I might be doing something, please help me guys
Toggle works for me!
I had the same problem, the triangle powers prog didn't work for me. In fact the headset icon was on but no playback.
The toggle 1.1 works, none of the funcitons described on it's website are available, setup and various icons are from the home page but HTC Touch HD home page doesn't support that.
Never the less, putting Toggle in my program list and using it toggles easy between phone speaker and headset. Like someone has already said, two clicks and we're in business from starting my van to getting music from my phone on the stereo. I'm happy enough with that.
I have a Pioneer stereo with Parat built in, so I get BT audio and Hands free calls. All seems to be working perfectly now. Thanks to this thread.
