I have a 8125 with a Nokia BH-600 bt headset. It works great when talking on the phone but I really want to listen to music too...
Is it possible to play music through the Nokia BT headset?
I have Media Player, Sound Recorder, and the CORE movie player but none of them play sound through the Nokia BH-600 headset! I also have a Moto H700 if that makes a difference.

I am not an expert on this topic so someone can correct me if im wrong, but you cannot play music through your bluetooth headset unless the headset is A2DP compatible. You also need the A2DP hack that can be found here:

Anyway, to get an A2DP headset, look on eBay; you can normally find them for around 60-80 shipped, for a quality one. The hack is a cab file that just needs to be installed before pairing the headset.

Being dumb here... how does this hack work?
I posted the link in my above post. Basically, just download the hack, copy it over to you phone, and click on it using file explorer and it will install. I am pretty sure it just adds to registry tweaks and DLL certificates, but I am not 100% sure. All i know is that is works great! After the install and a soft reset, when you pair a A2DP headet, it will have the option for setting as wireless stereo. Take a look at the thread above for more information.

Sounds promising. I was wondering if there was a way to get navigation commands to go through my car BT kit.
I also wanted to be able to do that, as I have a bluetooth speakerphone in my car. I do no think this is possible with just a regular bluetooth headset or speakerphone.
However, I do think if you have an A2DP headset the navigation sound will come through. I am not sure if your car kit is a speaker phone or a headset, but if you prefer a speakerphone in the car (as I do), I highly doubt it's possible, because I dont think anyway speakerphone is A2DP enabled. Nevertheless, people on this forum have done more amazing things so search around, you may find something.
And yes you are correct, after the pairing, any audio that gets produced by your phone will come via the headset (hence my thinking for navigation working with A2DP headsets)
Hmm, i have got a parrot ck3000. Not sure if it is A2DP compatible. Is this hack/cab file uninstallable? lol, im asking so many questions! I think i might just give it a try.
Heres a question (as these forums are a mess and i can never find anything), Is A2DP included in any of the latest roms? I am running the AKU2 rom that t-mobile last released, so i assume that some of the cooked roms are miles better.
your options
There are 2 ways to approach this issue:
1.) A2DP hack or updated ROM (for the best possible sound quality) needs an A2DP compatible headset/headphones or home BT transceiver.
2.) Mono BT hack for BT headset (you lose Voice Dial) has the lesser sound quality of the mono audio channel (the one you hear when on a phone call) See this tutorial for more details and options.

Ah balls it. It looks like its just another constant streaming program. Shame, i would have loved to just get the commands to be said and then the radio wont be contantly cut out.

Just installed this .cab on my wizard (o2 xda mini s, G3 un-updated at all.)
Works a treat, I'd foolishly bought a a2dp headset without checking compatibility and now it is compatable.

Not with the current bluetooth software as it stands, however this will change (hopefully) when the new rom is released with the updated bluetooth.
I managed to get MP3s to play through my HBH65 bluetooth headset from my mate's iPaq 2210, but the quality was awful. It was the same trying audio from my PC through the headset (with my sound-enabled bluetooth dongle).
In the long term, it may be possible with the XDA2, but you won't want to do it.
if audio over bluetooth's quality is aimed at the quality of a normal phone it will always be mono and sampled at 3khz or something like that music will never be that nice at such a low rate

There was a stereo bt at CES, only POC but showed promise. I believe they muxing and demuxing at the headset. Obviously needs special drivers, and the hardware at the earpiece is in a dongle, with two ear pieces. Maybe if Apple and Archos take it up it will become available.

When I did it, it was on an Ipaq 2210, not the XDA2, so I'm sure the same technique won't apply since the 2210 uses the Widcomm Bluetooth stack. I had to install a new DLL over an old one on the machine and change a load of registry settings.
I found everything I needed on Google, although I can't recall where exactly.

Searched several strings on this, but still looks like no way to play audio (other than phone) to bluetooth headset. I have an XDA II with what appears to be the latest ROM (1.66.00)
As to why, I'm not looking for music MP3, but rather I listen to lots of audiobooks from audible.com. Doesn't seem to make any sense to have to change headsets, bluetooth one for phone and wired one for all other audio!

After searching through the forums for a couple of days, I thought I would go ahead and post to ask if anyone has a fix for the following problem...
I recently purchased the Jabra BT 620s stereo Bluetooth headphones, tapped the A2DP cabs, and got wireless stereo working (along with all of the buttons and the mic) right away.
Unfortunately, every time I turn off the headphones and reconnect them, they connect to the phone as "Hands-Free" only. In this state, I can use the answer/call/play/pause/etc. buttons and the mic, but audio is delivered through the 8125's speakers and not the headset. To fix it, I have to open the BT settings, click on the Jabra phones, Refresh (because it still says that the set is connected as "Hands-Free" and "Wireless Stereo"), and reactivate "Wireless Stereo" every time I want to listen to music.
Is there any trick/registry tweak that could help me bypass this extra step? Oh, and does anyone know of a media player that doesn't hog my resources like WMP, uses AVRCP, and can play streams?

In response to my own (2nd) question...I've read that TCPMP respondes to AVRCP commands.

I'm continuing to look for a solution to my problem and find an alternative to WMP10, which sucks up so much memory.
I have finally managed to get Pocket Player 2.72 (http://www.conduits.com/products/player/download.asp) working with AVRCP. Although it is supposed to work right out of the box, I tried using it and received no feedback from the Jabra BT 620s's buttons.
While looking for a WMP today plugin -- one that I had hoped would have a smaller footprint while still allowing AVRCP controls to function -- I came across a post and eventually found a .dll for Pocket Player that allows me to use my Jabra's controls to influence the player.
Unfortunately, Pocket Player is a woefully bad player (even worse than WMP10 in my opinion!) and I can't get much use out of it because it “skips” constantly and forces the screen back on (it doesn't automatically shut off again) with every command from the headphones. However, for everyone who prefers PP and can't get Bluetooth to work through it, trying downloading this rar file (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=19163), unrar'ing it, and placing the enclosed .dll in your Pocket Player directory.
I personally really like pocket player, but you need to wait for v2.73 out soon apparently. If you go to conduits forum you can see alot of info on this issue.
I find it plays beautifully thru iTech Clip R35 (I admit I have a different device ie jamin).
But to your first point, I still have that problem as well, I have to manually switch on the bluetooth stereo option, I haven't found a solution for that yet.

I read about A2DP Bluetooth technology. I also read reviews of several headsets before purchasing the Motorola HT820 headset.
I loaded up a two-gigabyte mini-SD card with mp3 files, popped it in, paired the headset to the phone and engaged Windows Media Player.
Unfortunately, the sound quality is horrible. It sounds as if I am listening to music played over the phone, as if I am on hold with some customer service call center. I know the headphones are capable of much more because they come with a stereo mini-plug cable. When I plug them into the audio output on my laptop, the headphones come alive with decent sound quality.
I did not modify my registry or add .cab or .dll files. When I paired the headset with the XV 6700, I just checked the "hands free," "wireless stereo," and "headset" options.
Am I missing something or is this the sound quality I can expect from this technology?

Make sure you have the new ROM update for the Verizon VX, and install the Tornado cabs and dll files.
A2dp on xv6700
I have updated my rom, made the Tornado changes, made other reg changes as described in this and related forums - all to no avail. Stereo Sound is constantly clipping. Phone sound is ok.
What else can I try

You may want to try another player, like pocket player. Or try another BT stereo headset. If that dosn't work you may want to try getting your device swapped out with a new one. I can't get it to work on my PPC6700, but am waiting for a fix of the EVDO/ring through problem with newer units before I try to swap mine out.

I have already tried the pocket player - no difference. I am also on my second headphone set (albeit from the same vendor).
Unfortunately Verizon will not swap out because an unsupported feature does not work. At least that is what they told me.
Don't worry you are not the only one that can't get it to work.
The bluetooth on the 6700 is not very good, so YMMV when it comes to A2DP. It is a unsupported feature, you may need to convince them the BT is bad, but don't mention the A2DP.
I am waiting for a fix of the EV-DO ring through problem on the shipped PPC6700 with the new ROM before I have Sprint look at mine.

Unfortunately without A2DP "enabled", the bluetooth connection seems to work just fine.

Low sound quality with 6700 and Moto HT820 headset / A2DP
I am new to posting, be kind please. I have spent a lot of time and research on this problem and I am having some luck and some other problems that there may be some great info on. I do have the latest firmware from UTStarcom (Verizon model) which has AKU 2.0 update. I did install the tornado A2DP I found here and it did not work at first until I found the additional Tor_A2DP_cert.cab file and installed it. It works and seems to be stable, including headset operations. The only problem is sound quality. There is a ringing like high pitched digital noise, my experience in electronics would have me thinking of a bandwidth limitation, or timing issue that would be a result of process priority or something, just guessing! I have the Plantronics 590a stereo headset that sounds great when using the BT with my laptop, so I beleive it is with the phone. The big question, has anyone tried changing the registry settings concerning bluetooth? I see some entries here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTAGSVC and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTHIDSVC don't know what they are or what they would do, not brave enough to change them.

I have two BT Stereo headset, 2 different A2DP devices, BT laptop, and a BT dongle and get different results with different combinations.
- Southwing SA505 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (works great with everything, questionable manufacture quality, broke after 3 months of use)
- Moto HT820 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (good quality, but BT functions & sound is problematic)
- Cing 8125 (running Faria Crossbow WM6)
- LG enV VX9900 (vanilla os)
I believe it is just a simple case of both Bluetooth software of your device and headset not getting along together.
The SA505 works perfectly and sound quality is awesome with all A2DP & BT remote devices (including both devices, BT laptop, and a cheap generic usb BT dongle installed on my desktop)
The Motorola HT820 on the other hand is quirky...
Paired to the 8125 - when listening to music, sound breaks briefly (for 0.5 - 1.5 secs) randomly every 30-60 secs. Everything else is fine including sound quality.
Paired to the vx9900 - it unpairs when getting a incoming call & I have to manually pair it back up. Everything else works fine including outgoing calls. Good sound.
Paired to laptop or BT dongle - works perfectly.
in short the only thing that could be done is on the handset side by changing the BT stack or rom.

Just try MSI Blue Player, this is the only PLAYER which post a high quality sound to my bluetooth ear piece.
VX6700 and Bluetooth
Just as a friendly note, I had the Verizon VX6700 until last week. I had tried numerous bluetooth headsets with it and all seemed sub-par or totally unacceptable. The last one I tried was the Southwing SA505 and was, to say the least, displeased with the sound quality. I shelved all my bluetooth headphones and continued using the Motorola H700 earpiece for phone use only even though it was hard to hear in noisy environments, but was the lesser of all evils. Last week, I was available for upgrade from Verizon and got the LG Chocolate, took it home and put some music on it and used the plug in style headphones for the first day. After getting sore ears from the round-stuff-them-in-your-ear-hole type headphones, I decided to try the Bluetooth headphones again for the mere humor of having spent over $200 on the lot of them. The Southwing SA505 sounded phenomenal on the Chocolate. I then tried talking to my wife driving down the road with the windows rolled down and going 65 MPH, which had always been a problem before. She actually sounded like she was right next to me in crystal clear stereo (which if you have been married 21 years as I have, then you understand what a scary thought that is). I don't think the problem you are having is the headset but rather the phone and unfortunately I have no answer how to fix it, but hopefully have steered you in the right direction of where the problem lies. Is it possible to send voice commands from TOM TOM to a bluetooth enabled device?
What are the settings? I can get the voice commands to work with my Jabra headset but not my receiver...
I just got a nifty car receiver that takes A2DP music and phone calls. GPS routing over BT would complete it!
I did some more testing.
It seems that the tomtom signal comes over the A2DP bluetooth signal.
So on my car stereo, the tomtom commands will come through, only if I have the stereo on bluetooth mode. Not the best if you wish to listen to the radio.
Is there a way to force the tomtom commands over the HCP (Hands Free Profile)? That way the voice commands will be forced to the car stereo and interrupt radio play.

there used to be a registry patch or program that peeps used to use to allow them to listen to music through the BT headset. This was before A2DP existed hence the need, most peeps dismissed it because it was mono and poor quality audio (like listening to your music over a phone line,) but I have a feeling it is exactly what you are looking for !
I have downloaded a couple of programs, but they don't seem to work.
What is needed is some sort of program where you can pick the software to rout the audio either to a2dp or HFP...
the software im thinking of gave the choice of routing ALL system audio (including music) via headset profile bluetooth or not, at your choice !! trust me, it is what your looking for.
Problem is, most of those programs are/were pre WM5 and don't work with WM6, BTaudionav is an example. Regardless, if you come up with a software title, let me know.

you should search in the forum for the universal, that is where I would have seen it, as that is the phone I had at the time, It shipped with WM5 but was a long time coming with a rom that supported A2DP, in the mean time these programs popped up !

I am going to read through the entire thread, but the line of code that says:
"UseJointStereo"=dword:00000000
just turns off the A2DP; 00000001 enables.
Further, it routs all A2DP to mono.
Got through the thread, it really doesn't do what I want.
What I am trying to do is to have music port to A2DP stereo of my car receiver as normal, and have TomTom audio commands to the HFP.
That way you can play music over bluetooth, and when tomtom audio starts, it will pause music play and the tomtom command can be heard loud and clear.
As of right now here is what I can do:
TomTom audio commands via A2DP to car stereo (makes for a boring ride)
Music via A2DP to car stereo
Play both music and TomTom over A2DP, but music player is NOT interupted when a TomTom audio command comes through
I am going to search the tomtom forums, but I doubt I will have any luck there.

I see what your trying to do, and it is true there is nothing that quite manages it, the problem is that tomtom would have to be written or modified to use HFP when the commands are played, the best you could hope for is to reduce the volume of your audio to ie 70% and leave tomtom at 100%, this will make the tomtom commands really standout when they are played.
That would be a good compromise, thanks.

I've got a 3xx series Plantronics headset and i've got a question about using it for more than JUST calls.
Can I use it for watching movies?? at the moment, when the movie plays, it automatically goes to loudspeaker, even whilst paired.
I know of something called A2DP, but I'm not sure that my BT headset is that... Can I install something or change some setting to make the music/movie play through my present headset??

A2dp is a stereo profile, should be active if you have a stereo headset and are listening to anything stereo on the phone. I've been having trouble getting A2DP to stay active on my phone as well, but I just read about a program called A2DP Toggle found Here seems to be working for me tho I'm not sure its what your looking for.
Well I don't own a stereo BT headset. Just a normal one-ear one.
I want to know if there is a way to port the movie/music sounds through it.

btw, I've used a simple bluetooth headset with my PC before and it ported all the sounds from the PC to my earpiece... so technically it should be the same case for phone? I hope there's a way...
