Bluetooth DUN

I've recently signed up for T-mo Tzones package which works pretty well for what I need. I've heard that I could use my MDA to connect to my laptop via bluetooth DUN and surf the net on my laptop. If anyone has done this, could you share your settings please?
What I've done so far...
-connected bluetooth DUN with computer
-dialed *99# and left login id and password blank
I am able to connect successfully but the internet on my computer doesnt work. What could be the problem? Thanks for the help.
You can try replicating the proxy trick on your computer...
not quite sure how to do that.... but there must be another easier way shouldn't there?
Well T-Zones net access is redirected through a proxy server by T-Mobile so your not going to get it online unless you go through that proxy server. If you don't want that hassle you should subscribe to the plan designated for the MDA/HTC Wizard which dosen't need the proxy server... enough rant...
Search the Forum for the T-Zones proxy hack/trick and i'm sure you'll find the proxy address and port. In your browser/other internet app set those settings in them and see if you get online. I can't tell you if it will actually be replicatable on the PC (though i see no reason why it can't) as i use T-Mobile Internet for the MDA so i don't need a proxy (i.e. i can't test my advice).

[help] WiFi Internet through a proxy

Hi, I've been searching for a while for a way to get my phone's WiFi to connect through my school's proxy server.
I've tried setting the connection in Network Cards to Work and setting up a connection with the settings for it, but Internet Explorer still can't load a page.
I read something about a default connection called Work in the Connections but I can't find it, however when I try to make one called Work it says one exists already
Has anyone got this working? It would be very useful for some of my classes and I'd like to have the net without booting my laptop up
Any suggestions appreciated, especially if you can tell me where to find the Work connection settings.
Aaron.

wireless connecting but no internet

Hi everyone...
I have a touch HD that is not getting anything from the Internet even though it is connected to the wireless network. I was told that this problem started when the new proxy server was implemented and it applies to all windows mobile devices. I have checked the proxy settings and they are right. The Internet works fine at home... it just does nothing at my work.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated.
By the way... I have tried the solutions mentioned around here - like changing the channel - and nothing works.
Hi,
im facing the same problem and i suspect my WLAN access point. It works on all Wireless unless mine at home. I`m using a Zyxel Router.
Are you using DHCP? The answer from zyxel was to change the ip settings on my HD to static - means manual IP, Gateway and DNS.
It works now for a minute or so but then again dead. Now using data flat from my mobile company.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Nils
Thanks for your reply...
I have tried that.. but I cannot get anything to work...
I will try again... although one solution I want to try is to find a way to share my laptop's connection with my mobile and use it while I am close to it... but wireless connections cannot be share it seems...
anyway, thanks.
sounds more like it's you adhoc wifi on the laptop which is the problem
you have to set it up to work on the laptop for it to ever share with a pda
Actually it connects to the wireless router. There are three access points at work and I have tried to connect to them all. The only difference between these and my home wireless connection is the proxy server at work. I tried every possible solution with no success.
Anyway.. I will try something new when the weekend is over.
Thanks anyway.
OK. So this is how it is:
I got the internet to work by using a fixed IP instead of the dynamic IP assigned to me by the DNS. Once I supplied my username and password I could access the Internet. However, the touchflo interface cannot access it.
Is there a way to configure the HTC touch flo interface to set the proxy for it?
Regards

This is going to sound stupid, but I am stumped...

I am sorry if this turns out to be a stupid/obvious question, but right now I just cannot figure this out! So apologies in advance...
I have a regular data plan associated with my phone, so when I am out and about, I can access the web without problems. At home, the phone will connect either to my own WiFi hotspot (secured) or to my neighbour's (unsecured), and all continues to be well.
Now, while I am at work, I would like the phone to also connect to my office's hotspot, which it does without problems. However, since this connection requires the use of a proxy to connect to the web, I do not get anywhere.
How do I associate the use of a proxy to a specific WiFi profile/connection, and not to the others which are also configured on the phone?
Also, is there a way to tell the phone to give priority to the WiFi connection when available over the 3g connection, or is this done automatically?
TIA!
It's not stupid, there's no separate proxy setting for each Wi-Fi network, just the general "Internet/Work" thingie, but even that wouldn't help because many programs would ignore it (just like it will happen on "big" Windows, by the way - not all programs use IE settings).
So the only workaround I know is to set up your proxy in Opera and turn it on and off manually each time you change networks.
WiFi profiles
Solution is application called WiFi profiles. You can define settings for every wireless network that you use
Thank you very much to both!
I will look into the WiFi Profiles app...
