hotfix problem - Touch HD General

i just installed 2 new hotfixes off of htc's website for improved slider function when answering calls and also improvement of screen flicker.
what i noticed is that when i'm ready to make a call, on the screen in the bottom left hand corner there is a button with a slider between the phone icon and the camera icon (i guess for video calls). what i notice now is that superimposed over this button are the words "Call Hi..." exactly as I typed them.
before, i used to be able to slide the button over to enter video calling, which obviously cannot be used on at&t. but now, when i try to slide the button, it takes me to my call list.
so i don't know if i should uninstall the hotfixes or if this is normal.
anyone else experience this?

Problems Accessing Call History After Update

I just flashed my vario with the latest ROM from imate, and I'm very happy with it. One difference from my previous ROM that has been annoying me, however, is that I no longer seem to be able to access the call history screen easily. Previously I had call history mapped to the voice dial button so it would come up with one press, but with the new ROM it is not possible to select call history in the Settings/Buttons screen, and I can't see a link or executable for it in any of the directories on the phone. It seems that it is only accessible by going into the dialler screen and selecting the call history button there.
Does anyone know how I can get round this? I'd really like to access this screen easily with one button press again.

Screen after call stays up too long

After a call, you get a status screen which stays on for approx 10sec. I find it very annoying and would like to change that.
thank you
Please help on this issue
Hi, anyone knows of a tweak to reduce the time the "phonecall" screen stays up ? it is very annoying when switching calls or to quickly do something after a call.
many thanks for the help
I reprogrammed the buttons on my Polaris to work as "Startmenu" (left) and "OK/Close" right.
This way I can quickly access the startmenu without having to stretch my thumb across the whole screen and I can quickly make the call windows dissapear by pressing "Red/End" and "OK/Close" which is the same key Alternatively you can double press "Red/End" to end up on the Today screen.
Unfortunately I think there is no such thing as a registry edit to tweak that setting.
ok, thanks a lot for the tip

Screwed up phone keypad WM6.5

Since I could not find a similar post, I hope that I can get some help for the following issue.
I just performed a ROM flash to go from WM6.1 to WM6.5 on my HTC Touch HD.
All seems to be working fine for 2 days now. But I just recently noticed that when I click on the "off hook" button (bottom left) I see that the phone keypad is missing a row with number keys. Below the keys that are visible bottom there is a bar where I see through the application an I see my wallpaper: the key pad looks like this:
456
789
*0#
I expect of course this:
123
456
789
*0#
So I actually don't see the 1,2 and 3 buttons. But when I click on button 4, I get 1. Click on 6, I get 3. Click on * I get 7. Click left in the "see through bar", I get * (and after clicking this button or the other 2 to its right the button is visible with a grey color).
The key pad seems to have been moved upwards visually. But functionally the touchscreen expects the buttons to be in the correct place.
I have tried switch off/on the phone. Also after switching off Touch3dFlo I have this problem.
What causes this screwed up layout? Or better yet, how can I fix this problem(without flashing the ROM again?)?
EDIT: When I receive an incoming phone call there is this sliding bar that allows you to either accept or reject the phone call. I have the feeling that this bar fits right into the "see through" bar that I have. But when you initiate a phone call you don't need the "accept or reject slider bar" and therefore it's not displayed. Unfortunately something in the code makes space for this bar though
Flashed ROM to solve the problem
It's not that I'm impatient or anyting. But I've just flashed to Duttys HD WM6.5 R5.
That has solved my problem.

Dialer issues - by design, bug or only me?

Hi everyone,
I recently traded my HTC Touch dual for Leo, and so far I'm pretty impresed, and I really really like it. I've had it three days and charged it three or four times already, because I can't stop playing with that phone.
However, today I noticed the first thing that annoyed me, and it did so pretty instantly.
I was playing around in Sounds and notifications, and I enabled the hardware button click sound, (didn't enable the screen tapping sound), and noticed that most of the time the dialer would immediatly dial the last dialled number upon key press, the same effect as pressing the hardware pickup button twice very fast. After disabling the hardware button sounds, the issue was resolved, so I don't worry to much about it, but I'm curious if anyone can replicate this behaviour on his/hers HD2...
During all this playing with the dialer and accidently dialing numbers I noticed how I can't just select a number in the dialer, it automatically redials from my call list. So I never actually have to press that green "Talk" button, the call I select is just immediatly dialed. This is very annoying, als the context menu is only useful for the last call (or the first number on the list).
The dialer also 'quits to desktop' immediatly when I hang up by tapping the red end call button. No call summary? No need to close the dialer?
I was wondering abour your dialer behaviour: does is dial out on screen tap, or does it just select the number? How about ending calls?

Lukas
Yes, I hate the dialler app. I only use it for dialling fresh numbers not in my contacts list, or my voicemail (press and hold #1#), otherwise I use the contacts app. The dialler does dial out on a screen tap and quitting the call returns me to the home screen.
So the "add new numbers to contacts after the call"-function doesn't work either? I assume it's a bug? I run v.1.48 , does the 1.43 ROM behave the same way? I didn't notice...
Thnx
Lukas
*bump*
Anyone running 1.43 ROM; is this behaviour same as on 1.48?
Hey guys,
I'm gonna bump it one more time.
Can someone with 1.43 take the 10 seconds it takes to check if they can select a call in the dialer without immediatly dialing it? If it's the same as on 1.48 I won't have to flash back to it and you'll save few hours of my time, which I would greatly appreciate.
Thnx again.
Lukas
I'm not sure what your on about, but if you mean when you press the hardware call button and the dialed list appears, if you want to open the caller you press the icon on the right hand side of the screen next to the callers/name number.
Tapping the name/number calls them.
This has always been the case in all ROM's not just Leo
I've had an HTC Touch Dual, and tapping the calls opened call history for that number, with left softkey being 'call'. Pressing the call hardware button would dial out as well.
Also, after pressing 'end call' my touch would display a call summary (call duration) and wouldn't quit to desktop immedietly so I had the time to dial another number as wel.
Thnx for answering tho... I appreciate it.

Lukas
It's by design.
You can tap the card icon instead of the number and it will open the card where you can tap the number you want to dial. I think it was done this way by design. No problems for me, save me a few taps for a call and when I end it.
Lukass,
No such issue on 1.48 WWE.
However, the tapping sound disappears after the 1st press of the green button. It reappears after pressing a different button though.

Can I Set Keypad to Appear in Phone Application?

When I press the Phone application ( I know it's strange to actually speak with someone over a smartphone these days.) the top half of the screen has icons of the six people I called recently, and the bottom half of the screen has a list of the recent calls the phone has sent and received.
I know this may sound crazy, but when I enter the telephone mode, I would actually like to have the number buttons appear on the screen immediately; similar to what a real telephone looks like. I don't want to have to make another step to press the keypad button every time. If I want to use my contacts to make the call, I'll start with the Contacts application, or press the Contacts tab at the top of the screen.
Is there a setting to make the Phone application actually look like a phone?
