Screwed up phone keypad WM6.5 - Touch HD General

Since I could not find a similar post, I hope that I can get some help for the following issue.
I just performed a ROM flash to go from WM6.1 to WM6.5 on my HTC Touch HD.
All seems to be working fine for 2 days now. But I just recently noticed that when I click on the "off hook" button (bottom left) I see that the phone keypad is missing a row with number keys. Below the keys that are visible bottom there is a bar where I see through the application an I see my wallpaper: the key pad looks like this:
456
789
*0#
I expect of course this:
123
456
789
*0#
So I actually don't see the 1,2 and 3 buttons. But when I click on button 4, I get 1. Click on 6, I get 3. Click on * I get 7. Click left in the "see through bar", I get * (and after clicking this button or the other 2 to its right the button is visible with a grey color).
The key pad seems to have been moved upwards visually. But functionally the touchscreen expects the buttons to be in the correct place.
I have tried switch off/on the phone. Also after switching off Touch3dFlo I have this problem.
What causes this screwed up layout? Or better yet, how can I fix this problem(without flashing the ROM again?)?
EDIT: When I receive an incoming phone call there is this sliding bar that allows you to either accept or reject the phone call. I have the feeling that this bar fits right into the "see through" bar that I have. But when you initiate a phone call you don't need the "accept or reject slider bar" and therefore it's not displayed. Unfortunately something in the code makes space for this bar though

Flashed ROM to solve the problem
It's not that I'm impatient or anyting. But I've just flashed to Duttys HD WM6.5 R5.
That has solved my problem.

I went from a Treo 700wx to HTC Mogul & am missing some niceties--any registry hacks?

I went from a Treo 700wx to HTC Mogul & am missing some niceties--any registry hacks?
Hey All;
After having Treos since the 600 up to the 700wx, I finally decided to make the jump to a "full" WM Pocket PC rather than wait for the next Treo and picked up an HTC Mogul instead. Aside from getting used to the roomier keyboard, I love the bigger screen, faster/wider web browser & wi-fi, there are a couple of "niceties" missing that helped cut down on screen taps, and I don't know if it's because it's Palm thing, or a Windows Mobile thing (that HTC decided to configure differently)... any help figuring out how to enable the following would be most appreciated, even if it means a 3rd party program or registry hacks:
The *big* one:
List of last 10 called dialed when you hit the "send" key:
On my 700wx, all I would have to do is tap the "send key" when the screen was active (or twice if the screen was off), and a list of the last 10 numbers I dialed would pop up. Since 80% of my calls are to a list of a about 10 numbers, this cut down on key presses since all I'd have to do is use the "up" or "down" button after hitting "send" and select one of the last 10 numbers. The Mogul only lists the last number you dialed, and then dials it if you hit "send". There is a "call history" button on the screen, but that was on the Treo as well--and you have to tap the screen to open it up. I have probably made 10 calls by accident in the last day since I had the Mogul because I am so used to having that menu pop up when I hit "send" twice.
The smaller ones:
The end button turning the screen on and off:
I always liked being able to turn the screen on and off by hitting the "send" and "end" button. I'd hit the "end" button 2 times at the end of a call and the phone would go off. On the Mogul I have to hit a button on the side to turn it on or off. Can this be changed in the registry to make the "end" button turn the phone on and off?
Battery meter with the clock:
Whats with the battery meter being a third party plugin--the "HTChomeplug". I've tried the registry hacks to get the battery meter up by the clock like it was on my Treo, but it just screws up the top menu on the Mogul. If I can't get the battery meter up there I'd like to at least get rid of the other 3 things on the HTChomeplug (doing some research it looks like that's a registry hack of some kind--they don't even provide a menu to customize it). I generally kept a very uncluttered "today" screen.
Those are the main 3... other than that I love the phone--and it gets MUCH better RF than my 700wx did (the driving force for me getting it in the first place). Any help guys?
Also if these are "Palm" written features for Windows, has anyone tried to get them out of a 700wx and load in a different phone?
Thanks

Ultimate Point UI theme for PocketCM

I wanted my theme to look as much as possible as point UI.
you be the judge
The buttons at the bottom are removed. In stead I have 2 buttons at the top of the screen, the left for contactlist/smscontactlist the right for the option-buttons
--EDIT--
Not 1 but 2 revised versions, because I like you all so much.
Basiclly they are the same, with 1 difference:
Point UI Black BBF - Has a (point UI) bar at the bottom, which is the old favorite-button
Point UI Black NBBF - Has No Bottom Bar, in stead you can use the area between the other 2 buttons (see image).
Changelog:
- Returned the filter-button (in 2 different ways)
- Adjusted the top right button, it should work better now (it's also a little bit wider)
- Adjusted the dailer, it looks better now
- Changed the contact details top-bar, it now has an extra image
Known issues:
- The dailer sometimes keeps acting annoying
- With the NBBF-version, I can't get rid of the black square when you press the filter-button. It disappears again when you see contacts...
thank you

Is this VGA? If not could you adjust it?
I tried to do anthing with relative sizes, but I don't know if it works on VGA, I think some of the images might be out of proportion.
I don't have a VGA-device, so I can't test it...
THX for the Skin.....but I have found some bugs...
1 ...by opening and closing the application, it opens in dial modus (Is that a normal behave) here the layout between icons and text does not suit each other
2 by long pressing inside a contact i got that (second image)
How can i get the options again..?? i would like to switch back to the former skin.
Used device: HTC Cruise (Orbit 2)

Yes I will, but it is getting harder and harder to create a working skin without bugs...

I don't have those problems, it doesn't open with the dail modus here.
If you have serious problems and can't get to the option screen:
- close pocketCM (use the close running programs in WM5/6)
- rename another theme to point ui.zip

THX for the recommendation, I've already recovery my old skin again (iPhone-ish v2.6) but anyway i must ask you something, where can the user in your skin reach the PocketCM options..??
I found the colors of your skin very lively
Normally you have 4 buttons at the bottom:
Favorite, SMS/phone, Filter, Options
Now you have 2 buttons at the top:
The phone on the left = SMS/Phone
The arrow on the right = Options
Press and hold options to see 4 extra buttons:
old contacts
options
close
minimize

Well, this button has always closed the app...and after when I tryed to reopen the app using the key "contacts" came the dialing option as showed.
normally you had to press the options buttons shortly to get the dail and long to minimize/see options
what you properly did was press it short, which opened the dail and then a second time which minimized it.
When you pressed contacts again, you maximized pocketCM and the dail was still open...
Looks great! I'll try is as soon as possible.
Looks great. Any chance you could skin it black to go with the black PointUI?

Really great skin, very nice work..
I really like your work man but you have still some little improvements to do
What qtek_metanol was trying to tell you is that when you use the virtual button to minimize the app, and reopen it, you'll see PocketCM open with the dialer on ... But the reason is simple... this virtual button is the same as your option button (but smaller). In fact, the virtual button is in the right up corner (like if it was the cross) and if you want to use it, you click also on the option button which show the dialer.
I don't think that we can deactivate this virtual button so the isue is maybe to move the option button... ?? You're the creative one

What is the virtual button?
Is there normally a button in the upper right corner? I've tested it with the standard theme and no matter how much I pressed there, nothing happened.
The only thing I can think about is the following:
If you "click" (really short) on the upper right corner = dailpad
If you press (less then 400ms) on the right corner = minimize
If you press and hold the upper right corner = option-buttons
Those are all standard with every theme, just the location of the button changed..
I want the theme to work perfect, and it does for me... except for the dailer screen, it's a bit messed up with the green and red, but I never use it...
Ok so we don't have the same isue...
If I click (less than a nanosecond ) on the right corner : minimise + Dialer
If I press (less then 400ms) on the right corner = minimize + Dialer
If you press and hold the upper right corner = option-buttons
Maybe it's because of my Touch ??
I've tried, maybe you're partly right:
click = dailer or dailer + minimize
press = minimize
press and hold = option-buttons
so the solution for me is to press and not to click
Maybe someone can try to mess around with the timings in settings.ini? I think you can adjust the 400ms and stuff...

Keeping Onscreen Phone Keypad Open (Non-Collapsed) - HTC Mogul

I have an HTC Mogul with the latest officially released ROM (WM 6.0). Whenever I finish a phone call, the onscreen phone keypad "collapses"; I then have to hit the left hardware button (whose function now reads "Keypad") to cause the entire, regular keypad (with all 10 buttons, *, #, etc.) to display again.
Is there a registry setting that will prevent the onscreen phone keypad from ever "collapsing" in the first place?
Thanks.
I'd also like to know if this is possible.
I also get annoyed when I call voicemail or some other automated number and have to take the phone away from my head to press the "show keypad" button... I would rather have it stay up...
same here!!!!
It's a pain to have to look at the phone screen and press SHOW KEYPAD each time I call in the voicemail or a company with a menu..... I'd really like if someone could tell me how to get the keypad to stay on the screen after we press the SEND key by default....
thanks!

Disable hardware buttons for incoming call

Anyone know how to disable the hardware buttons for the incoming call screen?
I only want to answer/reject calls with the slider, not the hardware buttons as I sometimes touch them by accident while getting the phone out of my pocket.
I've tried PocketShield but didn't like it, although it was able to disable the hardware buttons. Any other suggestions?
Have you already tried s2u2? The slider can receive/reject incoming calls and you also have options to disable the hardware buttons. Works great on my elf.
I tried it some days ago, couldn't get it to work the way I wanted it to, mainly because I don't want to use the locking part. I always lock my device with the power button and I only wanted to have the ability to disable the hardware buttons for incoming calls.
After your message, I decided to install it again and give it another try. Changed some of the settings and I think I finally managed to get it working the way I want to!
It's a bit of a memory consuming app for just disabling the hardware buttons for incoming calls, but hey, it works
Thanks!
If anyone finds a solution without using S2U2, please let me know!
Ok, I have uninstalled S2U2 again. Even though it did do the job, it was also a memory consuming application just for disabling the answer/reject keys during incoming calls and I want to keep my device as clean as possible.
I have searched for hours trying to find a solution to this what I think is a very common problem. How many of you have accidentally accepted or rejected calls because of the hardware buttons? In my opinion, HTC should have thought about this and provide a solution for it.
Anyone with a better solution than S2U2?
Thanks for your input!
New version 1.40 of S2U2 uses MUCH less battery. I almost don't notice, it's running. Great program at least for me.
Since your previous post S2U2 1.4 has been released. This is supposed to address the issues you mention.
can you tell me how you have set your settings for just disabling the hardware buttons for incoming calls in s2u2 ? Thanks
I've used AE Button Plus to disable the 'Answer Call' an 'End Call' hardware keys as I had the same annoying problem of accidentally rejecting a call when taking the device out of my pocket. This works well for me and have now enabled the keys to turn wifi and bluetooth off and on with 3 taps.
Thanks everyone!
I wasn't aware of the latest S2U2 version and I almost gave it another try until I read Anfloyd's post.
I did look at AE Button Plus before, but didn't think it was capable of doing what I wanted: disable the hardware buttons during incoming calls, but still have them functional when there isn't an incoming call (such as showing the phone dial screen which it does by default).
When I looked at the AE Button Plus website, I noticed I couldn't configure the buttons based on the current active screen/program. So, even though I knew I could disable the hardware buttons, I thought I would then loose the whole functionality of them..and that would make the answer and reject buttons on my device useless.
BUT, after reading your message Anfloyd, it got me thinking..I don't need to configure it based on the current screen/program. I can just disable the buttons for 1 tap..and assign programs for them for 3 taps for example.
So, now I have this:
- 1 tap: do nothing. This way, both the answer and reject buttons are not working during incoming calls and I can only use the slider to accept/reject calls.
- 3 taps for answer button: start the phone application.
- 3 taps for reject button: nothing yet, but I'll find something
This is a solution I can work with! I have only tested it for a short time, so if it turns out that AE Button Plus is causing problems I'll give the latest S2U2 another try, but so far this seems to be working just fine.
Thanks again for your input!
ChrisVDD, those options can be found in the S2U2 settings. I don't have S2U2 installed anymore so I don't remember the exact settings. I just disabled all locking features that I didn't need, selected to disable the hardware buttons and chose to use the slider. Give it a try, you should be able to sort it out. If you can't, let me know and I'll install S2U2 again to see what settings you need.

Thank you for your fast reply, now It works like I wanted it to do.
Is it possible to end call using red hardware button but not to ignore it before answering? I tried AEBplus and it works like it should but that's not all I needed.

The problem I have with s2u2 is that I cannot mute incoming calls... The voulme buttons are locked... the touch screen is locked and mute on face down also does not work....
Maybe A_C will allow us which buttons to lock in the next release...

Dialer optimization - double tap / click to dial and up/down arrows

Guys,
does anybody know if and how can I make my dialer not dial the person when I single tap on the row but only highlight it and then use either the hardware dial button or the big green "talk" button ... or double tapping the highlighted row?
I find it very annoying when I tap an adjacent row by mistake and have to search again. This happens pretty often when I drive and have my HD2 on a stand but it also happens from time to time when hold the phone in one hand I try to select/dial the topmost row in the result list.
The last part brings another question - is there a way to add two arrow buttons at the bottom of the dialer which will go trough up/down through the list? These will be very helpful in such "car" situations and also in the case where the search criteria results in large list (more than 3-4 items) which requires a scroll (flip scroll) and/or hiding the dialing pad to see the full list. Currently I've mapped the Vol Up/Down keys for up/down directions with AEButtons but it's not very convenient / comfortable.
I'll try to make some kind of screen shot to show what exactly I mean but I believe you get the point.
Here are the screen shots - the original and the modified (using paint)
It would be great if somebody can make such a dialer ... or explain what I need to make it myself. (the arrow buttons should stay visible when one hides the dialer ... or when the user presses them to start moving the "focused" contact just as if hardware arrows are pressed).

I'm not sure but I don't think I can do it. I'm not to good at editing those resource dll files.
Someone like RyanMogul6800, or Fards, would know about this. Maybe senf one of them a PM.
