Just put on my Martin Fields screen protector and noticed that it rose the height of the screen.
Since the screen is touch resistive, could I (or anyone) put on 2 (or more) screen protectors to make it flush?
Would it affect the usability of the screen? As in sliding like in TouchFlo or through contacts.
Please search the forum before posting the same things over and over again.

Oh sorry about that. I shall take a look at that thread.
Edit: Ok so that question was not exactly answered in that thread. Most of it was about the screen being recessed.

You will lose touch sensitivity, no doubt.

I see descriptions that say "flush QVGA screen" but all the pics seem to look recessed. This is a major buying factor for me. Please let me know.
looks like lies to me. i don't personally have a pharos but it definitely seems to have a recess

flat like the touch phones.
right. so the Pharos doesn't have one. It has an edge around the screen.
look here:

I can confirm that the screen is NOT flush with the frame.
It seems that there are differences about grid visibility on screen. So let's do a poll. Also if anybody know why there is a grid on Leo's screen, please explain.
Thanks.
[Edit] Just to clarify this poll is not asking specifically the visibility of the grid when the screen is on or off.
You can vote from your normal usage, like from your normal usage you can see the grid easily without changing the angle or make it under direct light intentionally, you can vote for the first option.
If you're not sure which option to vote, you don't need to vote .
Here's why there's a grid...

Do you mean with screen turned on or off?
The grid is absolutely not visible at all when the screen is on.
It is very clearly visible with screen off.
Please correct the first post and the poll with information on whether you're asking about screen turned on or off!
Otherwise, the poll is useless.

To add to that, it's only visible when the screen is off and is under direct light. To be honest I can't see how this is a big enough deal to warrant a poll or a discussion.
I only noticed there was a grid when i was pointing a key light directly at it.
You will see the grid under direct TL light
I have the Dutch HD2 and can only see the grid with the screen off but then only if I point it's at an angle to the light source. So its not a problem at all

And what is the poll about then? Turned on or turned off?
It's not visible at all when the screen is on.
It is visible when the screen is off.
So how should I answer the poll?

Hmph, I don't know maybe you just don't vote if you're not sure which option suit you.
There are more than 30 people have already voted for this poll, so it's too late to edit the poll, otherwise the votes will not be reliable.
I didn't think of screen on/off because for me I can see the grid in both screen on/off.
Anyway, thanks for your information, it's new to me that for some HD2 phones the grid is not visible when the screen is on.
The votes ARE not reliable, because some people will vote "it is visible" as they have their HD2 turned off, and others will vote "it is not visible" as they have their HD2 turned on.
That makes no sense. The poll, as it is now, is completely useless!

If you don't like this poll, just don't participate, it's simple .
Man, I only try to tell you how to make this poll actually useful, so that we can draw conclusions from it.
In its current form, it's completely useless and doesn't help to draw any conclusions at all, because you do not know whether the people who answered refer to the screen turned off or turned on!
Is that so hard to understand?

For god's sake who are you to decide if a thread is useful or not ? There is a freedom to post whatever your mind comes to. If you don't like the thread, report it as I and some moderators already tried to explain to you. IS that hard to understand? Stop throwing flames in each thread you don't like. Get over it...
Sure, but I wonder why the OP wants to keep a useless poll?
Just to express his freedom to create a useless poll or what?
It's not that I don't like this thread. Why would I not like this thread, it doesn't harm anyone. It's just that I want to give a hint about how to make a useless poll helpful, so that we can actually benefit from the poll's ansers.
Right now, it's completely useless.
And the only troll here is you, Xeon, you've proven that several times with your posts/threads in this forum. Because NO, there is NO freedom to post anything. The forum rules clearly forbid some kinds of posts, like creating redundand threads, especially ones that serve no purpose except for spreading complaints (this is what you've done recently). However, expressing discontent with how a poll is made and giving tips about how to improve it is NOT forbidden.
Well, I don't care what he does with his poll. It just seemed he didn't understand why the poll was actually of no use, so I repeated my explanation... not changing something to the better just because you have the freedom to not change it is a bit... well, whatever...
You are welcomed to visit my profile and read my posts... You sure are too blind to notice anything. Except bashing people's threads you are here for nothing.
And one more thing, during the first 2 weeks with HD2 I was very positive and was biased but not after all the hardware fault I got.

Hi
Anyone else having problems with the touchscreen taking maybe 5 presses for you to be able to select for example a menu option? This is really starting to bug me now. So much so I'm thinking of sending it back to t-mobile and cancelling the contract.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers
Andy
Try an Calibration in the settings menu.
There isn't a screen calibration setting on this handset. I wasn't aware we had to do this on these capacitive screens.
My X10 doesn't work like that at all. How hard do you press? Does it work in one press if you press harder?
Press harder on as capacitive display?
You'll have to place your second hand on the metal frame and it'll work perfect.
Dry hands are also not good.

Yeah. If you press harder a larger area of your finger touches the display. I.E. more for the digitizer to sense.

I'm definitely noticing this. I'm not exactly the type of guy to regularly moisturize my hands. I work in construction, and this capacitive screen absolutely sucks for me. I've been using resistive screens beautifully up to this point. I find I often have to lick my thumb regularly to get the screen to work properly. I have a ton of trouble unlocking the phone, since the screen thinks I've lifted my thumb halfway through the pattern. Using swype is a nightmare for this reason as well.
There are resistive multitouch screens on laptops and desktops now. I hope we see a swing back to resistive screens on smartphones.
I'm experiencing this problem aswell an i'm pretty much sure this is all software related, you can actually see the interface reacting to the press but it seems like the device never executes the action forcing you to press multiple times, annoying as hell yes! I sincerely hope SE fixes this in the next update.
Has anyone had any problems with accuracy? In some apps the touch registers like 5mm below where I actually touch.
I think the stock screen protector hinders the touch sensitivity quite a bit. Try getting a thinner screen protector. There is a thread talking about how sensitivity and accuracy improved when they took theirs off.

Thanks for the tip but I already have an uberthin protector. That brand has worked very well on all other capacitive displays I've had. I'm suspecting a software bug rather than a hardware issue.

I jammed my X10 in a sports armband for Ipod touch, it has a very thick plastic window and it did not affect the sensetivity a bit so i dont think the thin stock protector will do any difference. Just my opinion

I've noticed that on the dialer application.
Sometimes, while I am on Recent Calls section, I press the green telephone next to a contact and it calls the one right below it!
Haven't ever noticed any sort of oddness like that... and I have a thick screen protector on top of the stock one.
Occasionally I'll type a letter wrong, but that seems to have improved with the update from two weeks ago.
Well recently I've been looking into buying a Nexus 7; however, I have a few unanswered questions that I couldn't find using the search tool, so I thought I'd create an account.
(These questions could seem a bit noob-ish, I'm new to the tablet tech and looking for one to buy)
First question, is the Nexus 7 display pressure sensitive?
Second question, in your opinion is a screen protector necessary? (I'm generally pretty careful with my eletronics and plan on purchasing a case for this. I don't have a protector on my Galaxy S3 and after 4 months of usage I've managed to scratch it twice in my pocket; however, you really have to be looking for the scratches to see them and sometimes they are only visible when finger print oil is wiped over them.)
Third question, if the display is pressure sensitive and if I happened to purchase a screen protector, would said screen protector affect the pressure sensitive capabilities? (I know this could vary depending on the thickness of the screen protector).
Appreciate the help.. :silly:
Well, there is this forum named Q&A for things like this. A capacitive touch-screen (same as what your S3 has) is not pressure sensitive. That's why it is called a touch screen. A screen protector will have no discernible effect on usage. I highly recommend the use of a screen protector. I also recommend more descriptive thread titles so that the search function works better. Adding the word screen to the title would have let others with similar questions find this in a search.

Thanks, I'll take those suggestions into consideration and I have already gone and reported the thread to be moved to the Q&A section, I usually don't make these mistakes on forums, but it seems that I have missed that section.
In regards to you saying that this has a touch screen, do you know how well the tablet fares at drawing? I'm not a professional artist or anything just wondering if the tablet does decent in a drawing situation.
I've done very little of that on mine, but unless you need a level of precision it should be OK.
If you attach a Wacom digitizer to a Nexus 7, the tablet displays pressure sensitivity.
Since there's a script for the HP Touchpad to make the Touchpad pressure sensitive,
and both tablets use the same CPU, would it be possible to make the Nexus 7 pressure
sensitive without the Wacom?

Hi everybody.
I just broke my phone yesterday and I am looking for some nice quality brand new LCD Display for Essential.
Is anyone here with a screen that has already been changed? I want to know does the new screen provide the same resolution size like is normal for our Display ( I mean 1312x2560ppi) or it is less?
CPU-Z is a good program to see that.
Thanks.

Based on my experience. The post has a link to my review of the display I bought on Amazon. Yes, it has the proper resolution, and works just as well as the original.
As always, YMMV...
i got this one and it works well:

Frankly, no idea, but I think yes... I don't see a lot of prints/smudges on the screen, it stays very clean. Feels very smooth to the touch - better feeling than the screen on my SGS7.
Also don't know if it's real Gorilla Glass (ppl on Amazon were asking). So far, not a single scratch.

Looks like it is oleophobic... The water drop doesn't spread on the glass, and when I tilt the phone and shake it a bit, the drop rolls on the screen intact, without leaving a trail.
