Hi is there any easy way to go from dim to full brightness without having to hit the power button then enter your pass code?

Anyone else find that some software can cause the screen brightness to slide down to zero, so you have to go through settings and slide it back up via several irritating clicks. Not sure what software is doing it

Yup it happens sometimes. I think I figured out when that happens.
It happens when you press the Power Button not all the way e.g. when you apply only minor pressure to the button. Normally this happens accidentally when you want to Power Off the XDA. SO instead switching off the the XDA, if you do that (i.e. press power button not all the way), the brightness will go all down to zero.
I think the "half press" of the power button to dim the display is an intended feature not a bug. Was the same on my iPAQ before moving to the XDA II.
I have had ythe odd occassion (twice only) where after a soft reset the screen brightness was set to zero. You have to go to the screen settings and slide up to your desired setting again.

Hi there,
This is probably a daft question, but how do I completely turn off the device? At the moment if I press the silver power button; it just turns off the backlight the way it does if you close the lid. It's not THAT much of a problem, just a huge drain on battery power.
Any ideas would be great,
Ta
You can't turn the device off completely like a regular phone. If you press the silver button once quick it will put the device into low power standby mode. The backlight AND screen should turn off. If you hold the silver button for longer only the backlight will go off which is different.
There are also a number of power saving options in the settings which will determine how long the backlight is turned off and how long the device will go into standby automatically.
Heya guys,
Just wondering if there is any settings or registry that I can change so that the backlights for the button hard-buttons stay on during use. Mine only light on when the device is on and when the button is pressed, immediiatly after it is depressed the light goes off.
Anything to do this?
Many thanks,
hi I m a new S4 user and I encounter a problem.my screen timeout and my touch key light never go off base on the setting I made. This problem will only happen when I power up the phone follow by keying the code to turn off the Wi-Fi power save mode. I check on all my screen timeout and touch key light setting all is unchanged but this setting just don't take place,I need to press the "power" button to off the screen and touch key light.is there any hidden features that can solve this problem? Another question is can the Wi-Fi power save mode able to off permanently and no need to always go in to disable it everytime the phone is power up? Thanks hope you people can help me out.
Hello guys, can anyone recommend an app/rom to change the power button settings? or add more functionality to the fingerprint sensor?
Basically my fingers are not that delicate and I always end-up powering off the screen while I am trying to lower the volume or hold. I really would like to use the fingerprint sensor to do all the work of unlocking/touch to screen off/ hold to power off.
