Use Advanced Config 3.3 to modify your comm manager for the items that you want.
I was able to add beam and 3G.

@ alltheway: have you tried to use the 3g-switch? i was able to set it into my comm manager but it doesn´t work. but in opposite to you i had no icon for it as well.

this was the first thing i tried. no luck! grayed...
It appears that if the PHONE setting is not displayed (the least useful switch if you ask me) then the DATA CONNECTIONS and 3G tabs will bevgreyed out an inaccessible.
Having said that, turning off data connection seems to be useless. It turns itself on the moment Opera or anything tries to access the net. I haven't tried it roaming yet but am going abroad next week so will update then.
I don't see the option in Advanced Config 3.3.
Any solution yet how to get 3G into the Comm Manager?
It's not in the regular options. Got to MENU (right soft key) then MORE SETTINGS then COMM MANAGER
Perhaps we need a 10 Button Manager
This is why it would be SOOOOO useful to have the old 10 button manager back from the Hermes days, just like the thread I started 14 Dec 08, but got no-where....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459270
Just wish Schaps or some one would be able to help out and create a new 10 button manager and resolve ALL our issues.
Thank you, but doesn't work for me also. I need an option to change 3G to GPRS...
Hi!
In order that it works 3G in CommManager it is necessary to add a few values in the register.
I detail the steps, if you want to do it.
To enable 3G I have replaced it with Direct Push option, because I do not use her, but it can be for any different.
First we change the option "Direct Push" for "3G":
You should accede to the key of the register "\HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\4" and to change the value "AUTD" that appears in "(default)" for "3G".
Now we have to add two values in the register in order that on having clic in the CommManager on the option of 3G, it should change GSM to 3G:
You should accede to the key of the register "\HKLM\Software\OEM\UMTS" and to add the following values (DWORD):
"PrefDomain" value decimal "2"
"PrefRAT" value decimal "1"
Bye and good luck !

PD: I apologise for my english
ok guys, there is an easy way to do this as AllTheWay stated earlier. Simply use Advanced Config V3.3
Go to Menu (right soft key) > More Settings > Comm Manager and then simply choose which settings you want
See attached screenshot

Hi all,
Hopefully somone is able to help me with this.
Before i flashed my ROM last night, i had the 'Wireless' today plug-in (the one showing your provider, BT status and WiFi Status) set up to launch the connection manager when it was tapped.
I am sure that i set this up by adding a DWORD titled 'Selectability' with a vlaue of '1' to the Wireless section in the registry.
However, i have tried putting this entry back in with a new rom, and it dosent launch the connection manager anymore
Any ideas???
Found this in another thread!

It's easy. just need modify registry
HKLM/CONTROLPANEL/wrlsmgr
New string "Redirect", make the value any program you like, such as
Redirect = "\windows\commmanager.exe" will open the commmanager.exe when you tap it.
Click to collapse
also the selectability makes it selectable in the front screen by touch and d-pad (set it to 2)
Can somebody tell me how to change network setting from automatic, into UMTS/HSDPA only... someone tells me that i can find that menu on comm manager.. but i cant find it yet..

Try going to
Start>Settings>Personal(tab)>Phone (Icon)>Band (Tab)
NB Some Roms do not show the Band Tab. However I'm pretty sure there are registry settings floating around here somewhere to get it to show up.
Mike
yes Mike
The advanced Config by Schap's can do this job.... it has a setting to enable the BAND page... just install the V3 of Advanced config and enable that setting...
Hope it works for you...
Who knows how to disable the 3G, so the phone will work only in 2G?

Download and install Advanced Configuration.
Click Menu then select More Settings and then select Comm Manager.
Here you can select what items you want in the comm manager.

Unfortunatley this comm manager tab does nothing on my HD (also reported by other useres).....used to work fine on Diamond etc.
Anyway, the obvious but long way round would be (translated from German ROM): Start>Settings>Phone>Band>GSM

I have the same problem. Any solution?
I get exactly the same problem. After searching maaaaaaany topics and forums it seems that band selection (3g-gsm switch) is managed by bandsel.exe or adminsettings.exe (in windows repertory). On HD you have neither of these. So on HD band selection is managed by another exe ... if someone can figure out witch exe it is, it should be quite easy to patch registry, in order to call this exe in comm manager.
hope you understood (I'm not very comfortable with english).
I have also tried to turn off 3G in the comm manager with no success. I like to turn it off most of the time as it saves battery when not having to search for a 3G signal. Has anyone found a way to disable 3G access on the HD, but leave GRPS enabled?
Try this Start -> Settings -> Phone -> Band -> choose GSM in the upper dropdown menu leave the other on auto.
With this setting you will have gsm and gprs/edge available but no 3G
Does anyone know how to disconec 3g/gprs in today screen
when i use tytn2..i just klick(touch) 3G/GPRS icon to disconect my conection
but when i use xperia i can't find icon disconec in 3G or GPRS icon...
sory my english very bad...
my problem when i conected gprs or 3g and
i want to disconect my conection...
my step so long ...click signal icon--and i go to com manager - >data conection ->turn off
but when i use other pda(tytn2) i just clik 3g icon and just click disconect to end my conection...
There's a tool which involves a similar procedure but which will Close (unlike the ConMgr) properly and release RAM.
Go to /Windows where you will find DataDisconnect.exe. Copy this and Paste a shortcut to /Windows/Startmenu/Programs and then place it wherever you like. For example:
-Today-Plugin Launcher, such as the one included with Resco Explorer
-Startmenu
-Softkey
This is the fastest and best way I know to disconnect.
use sk tools to solve your problem
to solve your problem, just do a search in this forum for SK Tools.
install this to your phone/ sd card (up to you). within this program there is a tab called tune up, and withn this tab there is another tab that allows you to enable a "Disconnect Button" that shows when you select the 3g/GPRS icon.
just to clicks and your done...
Problem Solved

Spotted this in another thread - there's a registry hack you need to bring the disconnect button into the balloon:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone
create new dword value "Flags2"
value=8 show disconnect button
value=16 show disconnect button and connection time
Try that.

Seen this before. It doesn't work on my X1. The Button is supposed to be shown in the bubble that appears when you tap on the Signal Icon right?
Hello all. Recently installed these cab files: Wifi Router and Comm Manager for 3G on/off. After the installation, the Wifi on/off key is now missing in the Comm Manager. I can use the WIFI Router program to turn WIFI on and off. But I prefer to use the Comm Manager because it is easier to reach. What registry changes do I need to make in order to show the WIFI on/off button in the Comm Manager? Thanks
I also had the same problem when I installed the com manager 3g toggle. I posted the problem regarding the US T-Mobile HD2 with that cab.
It replaces the 'wifi' toogle with the 3g toogle. In the non US T-Mobile HD2 it will replace the 'push mail' toogle.
I think you needed to do the extra steps to keep the 'push mail' option BEFORE installing the cab. The registry entries for it may be gone now. (I was lazy and just hard reset to get it back and haven't reinstalled the 3g toogle afterward.)
Click on the 3G tab, not the on off switch, and it brings up the wifi option on a screen by its self.
Not the best way, but it "Works"!!
It works; thanks for the tip. I can live with that for now instead of a hard reset. Much appreciated guys.
