Hi everyone,
My X1 fell on my wool carpet and the battery cover popped out spilling the battery on the floor. After I assembled back the battery and switched on no display appears. The phone seems to work normally but there is no display. The backlight just glows away but no characters appear. Does anyone know what to do?
TIA
Did you ever get your Xperia DISPLAY back ??
I have lost my display - other then the back light - and can't find any help to get it back.....

Hi all,
I recently dropped my MDA Compact in water. And now it wan't turn on again. I took it apart, battery, sim, the whole case I disassembled. I clean/dry every part of it, but it still doesn't turn on.
When I put the battery in, the little LED on at the top is flickering blue-ish. When it is connected to the powersupply the LED is pink/red and when fully loaded it's blue.
I've tried both soft- and hardresets, nothing.
Any ideas? Or is it realy dead?
Cheers, Casper.
What i used to do with my old mobile phones in such cases was to let them for some hours in a deep plate with clean water and some vinegar and then dry it with hot air. Of course first i disassembly the device. And in this case i am not sure about the screen. If you want try only with the board, but be sure to let it it enough hours to dry
There is a case of dropping a BA into toilet and works. Details here

Keep your hope high. Good luck.
For sale: MDA-Compact (aka QTEK S100, I-mate Jam)
Dead T-mobile (simlock) MDA Compact.
Water damage. Sometimes the top-LED flickers (blue, red, pink), sometimes the phone-buttons go on and off, sometimes I hear a pling-pling. It's in a coma and I can't fix it.
Someone interested in spare-parts?
€50,- (fifty euro's).
I will also put it on www.marktplaats.nl
Mail me @: [email protected].
Cheers, Casper Berris
Hi Casper,
Feeling sorry for you my man. Have you tried TMO, you got two year warranty, don't you? How much do they charge you to fix it, they can replace the board. Just turn it in as an electrical problem, you might be lucky.
M
First off the people and this board itself is tops in my book!!
Now before anyone says it yes....... I have searched.
PHONE 1 I was in the middle of a phone call and the phone went just shut off. Plugged it into a charger (factory one), no charge light. left it overnight and yet still nothing. Tried the battery in another phone and it worked, charged and behaved properly.
PHONE 2 phone works fine but the backlight stays off all of the time. Tried the board with a different LCD and the same problem occured. Is there a fix for this cause I cannot find it, or does anyone know where this feature is located on the motherboard.
Any help in these matters would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
it is time to donate to the XDA-developers!
excuse me?! If you are looking for donations this is not the correct way to request it.
He means donate the parts to XDA developers... aka, sell them out because they are broke...
I'm sure he was just busting you since he probably doesn't know how to fix it.

update: Phone 1
Left it overnight on the charger, about 3 a.m. saw a light on the ceiling (mid sleep turn) got up and looked at the phone and the screen was white. At 8:30 when I awoke, I looked at the phone and the Cingular splash screen was on. Went to turn on my laptop and "poof" it went blank again.
Someone told me to buy a new battery what do you guys think?
Phone 2 still comes on and the screen is still dim. The screen works tried it with a working phone.
I have this one on Craigslist for parts.
Great News
Phone 1: I FIXED IT!!!!
I cleaned the board with alcohol. disconnected the internal battery for a day then reconnected it back to the board and PRESTO CHANGO THE PHONE IS UP AND RUNNING!!!
Phone 2: The screen is still dim so I will be parting it out.

Yes! Just once so far, after 3 weeks use. Was yours in its pouch? I notice that it can switch on - and stay on - when in its protective pouch. Maybe I accidentally press the top button and pressure on the buttons from the pouch keeps it on.

Hi Guys,
Read a lot of posts about the red light of death but not had any joy as yet.
So screen cracked, I got a replacement and changed it, got the flashing red light and after quite a few hours of changing that would randomly stop the phone started up fine and I got everything working. Phone was still on about 75% change after some usage so that night I left it connected to wall charger and when I woke up in the morning it had the solid red light of death. I have since opened it up and disconnected batt for a few seconds and connected it back up without the screws (some posts suggested it was too tight with the screws?) and still nothing, only other thing I can think is the back cover has a slight gap on the top left hand corner. I know it is supposed to be flush but I didnt think such a small gap would cause red light of death?
I'm not sure if it is bad battery (did take a very long time to charge when I did get it up and running after screen replacement) or if it is back cover. Any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem?
Cheers
Seenan
I recently got my note 3 wet (clean-ish lake water) and immediately got the battery out and the phone dissasembled and into a bag of rice.
after a few days I reassembled it and booted it up and I can hear the startup sounds, feel the vibrations from power up, reboot & charge and I also can hear all of my notifications including ringing calls.
The problem is I cannot get the screen to turn on*.
What happens is the back button and menu button led's light up at the bottom and the screen sometimes flickers. I have got the screen to turn on though really rarely (playing with it and removing/readding the battery, rebooting etc..) and when I DO get it to turn on all functions work perfectly as if the phone was never damaged.
My question is, what components can I take a closer look at that would cause this behaviour? I would say that the screen is kaput but when it turns on everything works....
I am asking here as my google fu has not dredged up anyone with this specific problem before.
I have cleaned what appears to be corrosion or water spots on the larger copper traces on the mainboard with 99% iso and dried then reassembled but no change in behaviour (it did turn on once after I did this and work).
I tried a new OEM battery, no change.
Any and all advice is appreciated and yes I will order a waterproof quality case if I can get it working again

You acted perfectly after getting the phone wet, so congratulations. But unfortunately, screen failures are fairly common in phone-wetting scenarios.
What you can do is try keeping the phone a couple of days more in silica gel bags/rice to see if there still is moisture in the screen assembly. If nothing changes, all you can do is replace the whole screen assembly.

Can the screen be submerged in isopropyl 99% to displace any water or will that damage it?

Alcohol should be harmless. Go for it, you have nothing to lose.
I think you should put your phone in sun light for 40 minute without battery. after that let you phone cool. then Try to boot.If not work then open that back part then try again for more 30 minutes. I think it will help you.
in my case it works on samsung galaxy s.
God bless you & your phone.
