Hi
Has anyone managed to get streaming video from the Linksys WVC54G wireless internet camera on the XDA Exec?
I have been trying for ages and just tried Ivi View Commander but there is not an option for Linksys.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has managed it
TIA
George

I have the same camera and have had no luck finding a program to see the live video, except for a roundabout method. If you use logmein.com remote computer access, you can see your own desktop and view the video by running the linksys viewer and recorder. It works quite well. Gotomypc does not work but logmein.com is cheaper and seems to be a better system.

Where is the problem
Hi all,
i have the same cam, and it works perfect on my mda-pro ;-)
I use TCMP to view my cam´s here is the link http://www.tcmp.org/
You have to open it like a file only insert http://ip.of.cam/img/video.asf
as file name !
Greetings from germany

Yes, it works very well. However, how do you connect when you are not next to your desktop or wireless network? logmein.com is the only way I have found to view your live video. The camera will send me emails as .asf files to my universal when I am connected to the 3g network, and those videos can be viewed with tcpmp player. It took me many days to get the email sending to work as linksys did not provide the correct drivers. They sent me a beta driver that finally works as it should.
No problem
i have a dyndns account, and chose a alternate port in the linksys cam.
then i told my router to link this port to the ip of the cam and so it works from everywhere ;-)
in TCMP i choose : http://my.dyndns.accout:port/img/video.asf
have fun

Rave:
That is excellant!
Full screen as well...
I have also used a different port and had put that in as you show so I knew that was working, but wondered about about the username and password, somehow being included in the url, any ideas?
But hey it works, thanks!
May I ask who you have your dyndns a/c with?
Chetccox:
Any chance you can post the file or tell me who/where I can get it from, I am waiting for Linksys to come back to me...
It does work over 3G (just tried it) as long as you have the IP address
Best wishes
George
Hi,
Has anyone been able to run Citrix on the Touch Pro 2? I keep getting the message:
Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable.
Plese try the following:
* Tap Menu ->Refresh, or try again later.
Internet Explorer
iv have gotten it running on my old jamin but since i dont work at that boss anymore i dont work with citrix anymore thank god for that
but i think you need to try to think in the way with coockies etc and trusted pages since citrix is ussualy quite restricted by the admins
Solution
I use GoToMyPC which is a Citrix client. My Touch Pro 2 P.I.E. did not connect to my PC's nor did Opera.
Using an older version of P.I.E. solved this problem. Some of the Touch Pro browsing functions do not work, but you can use Opera for other browsing.
Hope this helps.
Just a heads up - signed up to tvcatchup.com (free) and thought i'd try it in the skyfire browser and it works. not perfectly but not bad and well watchable.
more than 40 uk channels
Dude how did u log in with skyfire?... Whenever I try and use iPhone.tvcatchup.com on my Leo, It only shows the username box?.....
Did u use the desktop site, if so, how do u view full screen. Cheers dude.
I used the skyfire mobile browser (version 1.5.XXX) - and could log in to www.tvcatchup.com no problems. (wasn't using iphone.tvcatchup url just the standard site www.etc)
I'd already set up an account for tvcatchup on my pc before i'd tried logging in on my phone, don't know if that helps.
was watching some of the villa game on bbc last night with it!
The only difficulty i had with skyfire was it wasn't recognising me as being in the uk... so iplayer would'nt work....fixed it by deleting the prefs file that's in the install file/folder of skyfire and it now works pretty good.
Ive tried using the iphone site before, it just gives you a stream link but its .m3u8 which our phones cannot play even coreplayer ive searched everywhere for it.
just have to use desktop site on skyfire a bit jutery but watchable

I cant even login as the username box appears...but the password box is hidden. F*ckin skyfire
Not having much luck with flash + opera 9.7, can anybody with it setup test tvcatchup?
btw, sign up to the forum and show intrested in a windows mobile support/app
the more the better!
TVCatchUp on HTC HD2 with Skyfire
TVCatchUp on HTC HD2 with Skyfire:
install skyfire whith the RADIO TURNED OFF, if the radio is on, skyfire then defaults the connection to 3g instead of wifi, re-install skyfire when connected to wifi and it will then work, in landscape as well with BSB Tweak, i have now had it working on 3g and wifi, and it actually runs better on 3g/h than it does on my home wifi.

Works for me, although the experience is not quite as polished as the desktop version. Still find myself reaching for the laptop to watch streaming TV atm...
Using WebTV much much better. it has 1000s channels from around the world.

I've just downloaded the myPlayer app which is just what I was looking for. It has all of the live channels if you are within the UK (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and more). You will need CorePlayer though.

Landscape appears after soft reset of HD2 and is automatically invoked when turned on its side
I have myplayer installed on my hd2 works great but not as big a channel selection as tvcatchup.
But tv catchup now has some sort of bug through skyfire as it keeps saying none uk as the skyfire servers now direct you through us servers.
Can anyone sort this.
Sorry for caps didn't realise until i finished typing. Not going back & writing it all out again.
Cheers nedster
I've trawled other thread on both Opera and iplayer, without success, hence opening this one.
Don’t ask me how, but I’ve ‘lost’ the version of Opera which was preloaded on my Vodafone UK HD2, probably by having moved the shortcut via which the browser used to open.
I have since installed Opera 10 beta, and changed the custom user agent to ‘HTC_Touch_HD_T8282’ as per other thread, which is fine, and gets me on to the iplayer site as a recognised/supported device.
BUT, when I click on the ‘play’ icon on the TV show I’ve selected, I get a message from iplayer saying they don’t allow overseas users to view the content. The same can be said for any radio content, live or catch=up.
I’m very much in the UK, and get the same issue whether I use the home or office wireless networks, or over the data connection which was auto-configured for me when I first started on my stock Vodafone UK HD2.
I can get the stream working on Skyfire, but not view it at all well, as it doesn’t open within the application which I used to use with the older version of Opera for streaming media such as that from iplayer.
I looked for an Opera support forum, but the ones I founds aren’t that enlightening. Posters on the slightly better Skyfire forums seem to think that it’s down to the server via which the request to the iplayer server is routed is non-UK, and they start talking about proxy server settings and the like, which means zilch to me I’m afraid.
I’d like to watch via my Opera browser, but I’m at a loss to what to do next. Has anyone any ideas? Do I need to tweak some Opera settings in opera:config, change some settings elsewhere on my device, or find a way of making the iplayer server think (as I indeed am) in the UK? Any help or suggestions anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated, please.
Oh, and the great looking iplayer app isn’t working, as I get consistent error code, which I’ve posted about on the thread for that app.

I remember reading some where that if you downloaded a US version of opera then it won't work. Try downloading a UK version (I could be talking rubbish though).
HD2 iplayer working in Opera 10 beta2
Hi I had a similar problem with my installed opera 9.7 on my vodafone hd2 which stopped working, & rather than factory reset the phone I installed Opera 10 beta 2 which is much better than 9.7 & i dont really miss the pinch zooming much. Anyway I got the same message that said iplayer only available to uk, and as i had recently checked the turbo option in the settings I decided to uninstal 10 beta2 & reinstal it but didnt check the turbo setting & went into the user pref & entered the ‘HTC_Touch_HD_T8282’ as per other thread, & also set the user agent to 2 instead of 1. I then saved & exited went into iplayer mobile & it works the only little niggle is the "download file - iplayer_streaming_n95_wifi.sdp" box which appears each time you want to use it. you have to click save & its only 4kb (THEN PRESS open to play the file) but it is annoying as opera 9.7 didnt bring it up. Im sure there is a setting somewhere that will do the streaming automatically but i havent found it as yet.
Re: Overseas user problem
In some situations (opera mini, new opera turbo mode, etc) opera route the traffic through their own proxy servers, so the bbc website sees their home as the connection country, which in the case of opera is norway,.
Just use myplayer instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501131
Thanks for all your suggestions
keith43 - You may be wrong, as I've searched and searched, and found nothing about a UK-specific version of the Opera 10 beta, or any other version in fact.
Samsamuel – Thanks for that. How would I route the traffic through a UK IP address, or fool the iplayer site into thinking that’s what I’m doing?
Shasarak – I did start to use myplayer, but to be honest didn’t find it the easiest to get on with, particularly when searching for programs. The iplayer app was better, but is no longer supported, apparently.
Rabidrat – Followed your tips, and now have iplayer working just fine. Brilliant! As you say, a little bit of a annoyance having to download a file for each program I want to view, but if it gets me to what I want to be doing, not a huge hassle I suppose. Am I right in thinking the site thinks I’m an N95? Isn’t that a Nokia device?

I suspect Keith was remembering something about Skyfire rather than Opera; it is possible to get Skyfire to use a UK-based proxy server which makes it compatible with iPlayer (although the result isn't that watchable - good resolution, but poor frame rate).

Well, whatever works for you.
Personally I find the video quality you get when using the Opera user-agent hack is so atrocious that I'd really rather not bother; myplayer downloads are still pretty bad quality, but at least they don't actually make my eyeballs bleed.
The latest version of myplayer (1.96) supports iPlayer categories, which helps a little with searches.
I am using Latest Opera 10 Beta 3, I get download "iplayer_streaming_n95_wifi.ram" message, then when i click open nothing happens. Any ideas?

I am on beta 2, and get offered the option to 'save'. If I then open it, I get the stream okay.
I have disabled the 'opera turbo' option and changed the user agent from '1' to '2' (as per rabidrat's post above).
i also have the custom user agent altered to 'HTC_Touch_HD_T8282’ as per the Leo hint and tricks thread.

Hello folks.. this is not another FB related thread...
i can access the full facebook website with my opera 9.7, the thing is that the site doesn't display properly! i am unable to see the wall! i have javascript active, plugins enabled and fixoperaflash 1.5.5.20 working properly with ieactivex.dll registred, but with no success.
I am able to view it properly on Internet explorer though... so it's opera related... don't know whats wrong! youtube works perfectly for instance, and the thing is that it worked before but i was installing some opera builds, and trying to add flash and then it got broken, and i was never able to view it again, no matter what i do.
tried:
-deleting user profile
-reinstalling opera
-installing other version
-view all possible configs
nothing.. suggestions appreciated!
i can see that i am doomed... DAMN!
hi. try to use another app like facebook or dolphin browzer HD

I too have found various websites not working with the java in opera 9.7 so its now disabled and much mch better.
Websites now load superfast on hd2 without advertising and commercial crap...java is ****..
