whats your score? To get the benchmark working you must run it in VGA, use WVGAFIX to crop your resolution.
If your score is a new record. please post how you managed it to reach it

Have you used enabled .NET Comnpact Framework 3.5 as the default one too? Have you tweaked with Advanced Configure Tool, Tweak HD and so on? I did
Is there someone else out there who can beat our score ?

Hi,
please let me understand: are you making a graphics test of the VGA remap?

I cannot even get it to start. it hangs when starting. What did you do to get it running?

I'm not getting anywhere near that (2352), would you mind sharing your performance tweaks and what ROM you are running.
Edit: Did some more playing around - new score: 2653!

Is there any kind of benchmark that works directly on the HD? (No WVGA fix)

Would be nice with some links.

OK, lets compare our tweak setting, here are mine:
ROM: 1.14.407.3 (22273) GER
Radio: 1.09.25.14
Major improvement by following this thread:
enabled .NET Comnpact Framework 3.5 as the default one and saying the device to use more RAM Memory
Minor improvements by using:
HD Tweak
Diamond TF3D Config (more display sensebility and faster TouchFlow, ask for settings)
What have you done?

My ROM is L26_Touch HDV1 WWE - OS 5.2.20764.1.4.3.
I shut down all background apps except for gyrator.
I've got the DOTNET tweaking done and then used HD Tweak and Schap's Advanced Config. My settings are 8mb system cache, 131072 filter cache and Glyph cache at 128kb.

For kicks i just tried it on my old ready for retirment Dell Axim 51v

Oh, I also have a x51v and its really sad to see that a three and a half year old device can beat a brand new in performance. It so good to see the video performance. All movies can be played with 200-300% . Its just a little magic chip called Intel2700g .

Yes I had no problem playing any kind of videos with that, no editing required just drag the files and it plays. I got mine in 05 dropped it bunch of times still going strong, it has 3.7 inch screen but didn’t crack like a egg in your pocket.

It's early days...I'm sure that it just needs a bit more tweaking and perhaps some better drivers....

Yes... its a shame that old devices are as fast as new one. Thats because Intel wasnt producing Chips for Pocket PCs for a long time. I think they started now to produce them again...

You dont have to push this settings to such high values with smaller values i get a score of 2642... the same speed...
AUTO system cache, 16384 filter cache and Glyph cache at 128kb you dont have to push your settings higher than this.

I tried those settings with my HD and was only getting 2357. So I maxed them to see how it would do. There's probably a happy medium somewhere inbetween for me, will have to play some more.

Hello,
did anyone flash his rom already and tried to run the benchmark again? I wonder if it would make any difference at all or not in speed performance.
It would be great to report all results based on the ROM flashed...
David

hi to all, i am sorry but i feel that this test is not useful. First, the comparison with a device (the axim) which has a qvga resolution is unfair towards the HD or simply meaningless. Then, i don't know exactly how wvgafix III behaves but it probably adds a mapping layer that by itself could be the perfomances bottleneck. Said this, i agree with what everybody knows since months, even before it was available: the drivers for the touch HD are not exploiting the hardware performances to the best...but it is not running meaningless tests that we will improve it!
given this preamble, my touch HD with a laurentius26 V2 flashed rom gave 1590 as benchmark...
should i be happy or unhappy?
should i change it with an axim?
ADDENDUM: became 2597 after soft-reset. In my opinion, WVGAFIX III is buggy since i didn't notice any difference in speed in normal WVGA operations....

Changing the DPI - brings only problems!

You can change the DPI of the display in WM5 by changing the following keys:
HKLM/Drivers/Display/GPE/
LogicalPixelsX
LogicalPixelsY
Using 96 for both should give you what you would expect from upgrading from 320x240 to 640x480 - i.e. 4x as much "screen space."
HOWEVER!
When I choose a LogicalPixelsX (height) value lower than 192 (even 190) apps like Contacts and Calculator refuse to run and various icons & display elements disappear. LogicalPixelsY doesn't seem to make a difference.
Any ideas?
Its just one of those things mate. The VGA hacks all reduce the size to 96dpi that being half of the normal 192. Any other ratio just doesnt seem to wash. A cpl of ppl have had success with 144 (I think). I didnt myself. My sad conclusion is the best solution is to use the .mui file hack to you can at least have apps like Adobe, Pocket Streets, and some games run in true VGA mode.

Hi,
when u change the dpi, u must ensure that the corresponding files are available in your windows directory! Search for *192*.* files in your windows directory....these are resource files built to suit 192 dpi. When you change it to, lets say 96dpi, you must have the same equivalent file *96*.* files, otherwise you'd have missing icons and graphics!
Hope that answers!

they are dlls, so you must make sure you've turned "show all files/ system files" option on, else you wont find them!
Anyways, here is a bunch of DLLs for you...(rename them to whatever DPI you want, and copy them into your windows folder).
I've included a Disable certificates cab file, which is needed to make sure windows chooses unsigned files to run....so that the new resource files you provide are accepted by windows....
let me know how it works!

Wow, thanks! You exceeded my expectations!
I can see the files now, in the first instance I was looking for them on the device instead of with ActiveSync.
Will try it now & let you know how it went...

Thats great, you finally got it working!
You'd have many apps screwed up in vga mode, thats common! For some of the default system apps, there are fixes which you could apply....look around the forum for the words "fixed" & "VGA"....and you should find them.

PS: Whats with the contact details? I dont remember having a problem there!

I just noticed the soft blue lights there looks alot cooler then the red menace of the jasjar. Then again I thought the jasjars was good till I saw the blue keyboard backlight so maybe its a case of the grass is greener

In case Osir1s is not aware: the O2 Xda Exec is the exact same device as the iMate JasJar. Except it has a blue keyboard backlight (probably a tiny bit more expensive to make) and a different font on the keys. Oh, and the body is in a really nice matt black. But I keep having to wipe my grubby fingerprints off it with a cloth made for cleaning LCDs.
heh well thanks for the info but yes I tend to do my research before purchasing an expensive gadget so I know about the exec; just hadnt seen a pic of the blue backlight.
I actually was all keen on importing an Exec until I discovered the finish on it. The same with the XDA Atom, the piano black finish ruins it for me. I learnt my lesson with casing like that from the Motorola mpx200. I was forever wiping that thing down.
Will be a cold day in hell when I go back to those days
This is my 2nd matt black device, the first was a custom case for a little Samsung A300 which I still have. Arriving in the post soon will be a tiny bluetooth GPS device (which appears to have an accelerometer inside it) which is also matt black.
BTW, speaking of "expensive" - the Exec only cost me about AU$360 (with a ~AU$45/mo contract)
Ooh, I just thought of the ideal accessory for the Universal - remember the "tiny" phone in Fifth Element which looks huge by today's standards? How about a bluetooth "headset" like that? One that you hold to your ear, so it's easier to operate. Probably a good way forward for most mobiles now - if they'd only engineered bluetooth to handle connection with more than one device at a time. Then you could buy different brands of GSM radio, handset, camera, storage, keypad, display and use them all together. No doubt there would be a bluetooth capable iPod which would allow you to store all your contacts alongside your tracks. Oh well, maybe next time.
One problem I still have not being able to solve:
It is quite easy to change the DPI with the method described above (i.e. copying the corresponding .dll's to windows directory and changing the 2 registry entries).
So far so good.
I have however up to now not been able to find a background (*.tsk file) which is large enough for true VGA (except the Windows standard which I don't like).
All the other *.tsk files I am using on VGA 192 display smaller on the true VGA resolution.
Is there a way to increase the size of the *.tsk files ? Couldn't find a graphics editor yet to do that (not even infantview which normally reads almost everything)
Anybody has an idea ?
Cheers

Yes like most devices you will find the European and Australian versions of expensive are quite different, ie. Until this month infact no Aust. provider has provided the jasjar on a plan, hence these must be purchased out right for $1500 odd dollars, hence I consider that an expensive device.
I suspect even when Vodaphone do offer this device on contract later this month the monthly fee with be the usual $99, although likely with a cap plan so some repreive there; still expensive though.

It doesn't really matter. Threads can meander around the subject and take on side issues from time to time, and I think trying to force them into a channel of The Original Subject can stunt the overall community spirit. It also doesn't do a great deal for ones latteral thinking or creativity to keep so focused. How can you think outside the box if you're locked inside it?

Storage Problem (Help please!)

Ok...Im new to XDA and have always come here when I've needed help. However, after looking around I cannot find an answer to my current problem. I have a T-mobile wing with a 6gb storage card. I have all of my software, movies, pictures, ie cache, and pictures installed to my storage card. My problem is that my main system storage seems to be decreasing by the day. I am down to 3.5mb and have no clue as to what is consuming the space. I have run scans for large files and have even run sktools to make sure that im clearing out everything. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Danny
Already tried a soft-reset?
It usually clears it up and otherwise check if you have set your storage card as storage for your mail attachements.
Yep...I've done all of that and nothing. Im really running out of options and dont want to do a hard reset to have to re-configure everything how I have it now. urggg
Try using this.
I'd also suggest using PocketMechanic or MemMaid ... and I'm sure SkTools will do it too to clear out all the crap that you can.
With PocketMechanic, you can "relocate" installations from the main device to the storage card, and that may help you as well.
I had the same problem. Then I stuck Open Touch 2.6 on it, and all of a sudden it ran way better. I was really apprehensive about doing it at first too since I was happy with my settings. But really, it's worth just taking the plunge. I went from 5mb to what, over 30mb free and it seems like I have the exact same setup (in fact, MORE programs) and they are on the device and not the card, too.
The standard ROM just really whacks your phone.
The Stock Rom sucks ass. I use TouchIT 4.4 and I'm extremely happy with it.
Thanks for all the info. After looking at some of the threads on the two roms recommended im seriously considering doing so. 3 quick questions....1. Can I revert back to the original rom if needed? If so, how. 2. Is there a feature that my phone has now that these roms do not have? 3. Will flashing the phone with one of these roms void the warantee on my phone? Thanks again!
1. Can I revert back to the original rom if needed? If so, how.
Yes, by running the Stock T-MOBILE RUU
2. Is there a feature that my phone has now that these roms do not have?
Any of the Tmobile crap ... myfaves, hotspot logins ...etc... but you can install most of those with a cab.
3. Will flashing the phone with one of these roms void the warantee on my phone?
Yes. Theoretically. But again, if you ever need to send it in, you can install the Stock Tmobile RUU and hopefully you won't have any problems.
Yeah....better off. I dont need the extra T-mobile crap any ways. Which rom is best? I looked at the one you have and that one seemed better.
btw....what exactly does the page pool hack do?
Different people on here will reccommend different Roms.

What is the Page Pool?
Quoting mamaich:
The large the paging pool is, the more code pages can present in RAM simultaneously -> the less loads from slow ROM -> the faster the device is.
Quoting Mike Calligaro from Windows Mobile Team Blog:
In general terms, there are a number RAM uses that aren't reported in the Memory CPL.
For instance, an OEM might set aside a fair amount of RAM to allow the camera to write directly into it without using the CPU (a DMA buffer). Typically the way they do that is to tell the system there is less than the available RAM and then use the RAM the system doesn't know about.
Another example is something called the "page pool." This is similar to the "page file" on a desktop system, and is heavilly used on NAND systems. The page pool isn't something a user can configure, so there's not much point in showing it in the Memory CPL.
Code that can't be shut down or paged out, especially drivers, isn't shown on that Memory CPL either. There's no reason to show you the RAM the display driver is using, because you can't do anything about it.
Applications use RAM in two ways. There is code that runs, and there is data that is created while it is running. On a NOR device, the code can run directly from the ROM and not be loaded into RAM first. This process is called XIP (eXecute In Place). NAND devices can't XIP, so their code is loaded into RAM and executed from there. If you don't have a Page Pool, this code is loaded into normal RAM. The Page Pool is a mechanism to limit how much code is loaded into normal RAM. With a Page Pool, we can unload code that hasn't been used in a while and reload it later if we need to. We can't do that without a Page Pool.

is this after a fresh power cycle? are there programs in the recent program list? do you have alot of startup apps running? do you use CleanRAM? looks like only about 35-45mb of memory is used up by apps, the other 80mb is all system programs that you cant stop. check whats in your startup folder in my device/windows/startup. with only 94mb of storage space left, looks like either you got alot of apps installed or you got a ROM loaded with apps on the main memory...what ROM are you using?
HA your using a 6.5x ROM...can tell by the start icon. try finding another ROM that has more memory...check the specs. also still tell me the answers from the above so i can further help you

Go to the got mine thread sticked in the general area, there is a post of mine with 2 .cabs you can download to help alievate the problem. The issue is that the phone is running opera even when you X out and as well is caching all the apps. These two cabs stop that, I installed it and get the mem usage down to 45% at startup.
Cant find your thread even looking for threads started by you.
try these cabs...
these are not my work, can't remember who i got them from.
Thank you. I instlled both on my Tilt 2, soft-resetted and went down to 49% from about 69%.
So far it seems fine.
Testing on stock WM 6.5
I just installed both cabs, and I will let you know about the impressions.
I am running stock WM 6.5 on my Touch Pro 2.
The good thing is that both files appear in Remove Programs list,so if any side effects are being noticed, both files can be simply uninstalled from phone.
Let us wait,and see
Thanks for the links.
thnx for the apps btw.. I just installed both of them and went from 75% to 51% of free RAM. ..no more auto start for Opera .. Will be back with furthur info on how its going.

As far as I know, the smaller one turns push internet off,so it will not run in the background constantly.
The other one, bigger, prevents Opera from automatic start, and running in the background even when you exit the Opera browser. Maybe you did not know, but when you turn the phone on,Opera starts automatically and runs in the background all the time, whether you close the program or not. And that process is hidden, therefore, you can not kill it,nor end it using task manager.
I installed both applications two days ago, running stock WM 6.5,and I am now testing. I am now IDLING at 60 % of RAM usage, instead of 76% prior to installation. And phone runs great,no changes at all, without any glitches whatsoever....so far
^^^ Thanks!
what does the push internet do? like what are the advantages of it and disadvantages of it?
also is there any advantages of having opera running in the background?

no push internet disables opera from auto dloading pages and save a good amount of mem. not sure about the other.
RAM Cleaner
Well guys, after several days of testing these two cabs,I found out that in fact, they do not work on WM 6.5
They work when the phone is started, because the phone starts with much less memory used, but after browsing in Opera and Skyfire and camera actions, memory leaks again and comes to 76 - 80 % of usage, and it can not go down without resetting the phone.
I Installed RAM Cleaner and it is far better option. It also has schedule,so you can set it to run automatically and keep the RAM clean, without you even do anything.
Anyway, thanks to the creators of those two cabs.
^^ what program did you install? is it called CleanRam 1.7?
also will this work with EnergyROM "Phoenix 2" 21889
Yes it is.
Yes it is,you can find it under applications section thread...
Honestly,I do not know will it work with the ROM you mentioned, but I think it will.Read the posts about it...I read many of them, and I did not find that anybody complains no matter what ROM they use.
Try it...it is my advice.Nice software tool.

BE CAREFUL USING RAM CLEANERS WITH MANILA/SENSE. IT WILL FREEZE AFTER THE CLEAN BECAUSE OF SOMETHING WITH MANILA/SENSE RESTARTING. PUT MANILA/SENSE ON YOUR EXCEPTION LIST BEFORE YOU CLEAN SO THE CLEANER WILL CLEAN UP RAM OF EVERYTHING BUT MANILA/SENSE.

Not a tech guy to prove it, but I am using htcCleanRAM for quite a while and I have never had this issue. I clean the RAM with HTC Sense on and it works fine each time
Hello!
@akademik,
Thanks a lot for your advice, but I have to admit that I have been using it all together with HTC Sense, and it never froze...
Anyway,it costs nothing to put Manila/Sense on exception list....if any issues are being noticed.

[REF] Overview of the different ROM's & Features [11-06 updated]

Hello everone!
I noticed a lot of questions from new guys who are completely lost in all the different roms out there!
So i thougt why not make a topic that gives an overview of all the rom's and whats in it.
First let me explain what is basicly different.
Take a look at the excel file you can download below. you see there are a lot of rom's listed on the left side!
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now it all comes down to your personal choosings. do you want a rom where the start menu is at the top take one where row C ("Start at top") is filled in. A higher number means a newer version. Newer versions are better (most of the time)
You want it at the bottom? Take one where row D ("Start at bottom") is filled in with a number.
Do you have a T-Mobile US HD2? pick a rom where row E says Yes!
Row F tells you if the ROM is ready to enable the 576mb RAM in combination with a proper radio ROM.
Cookie Home Tab + Editor
A lot of roms have the Cookie Home Tab (+editor) cooked in. CHT (cookies home tab) is a great addition to manilla and i would recommend using a rom where it's cooked in. If properly cooked it can boost preformance (more info on the CHT can be found here.)
GTX Themed
Some ROM's have the GTX Theme cooked in (more info of the GTX Theme can be found here) The theme cooked in makes it preform better.
I am currently working on filling row G & F. I could use you to give feedback of whats the free program memory straight after a flash (no 3d apps installed) I think this would be really usefull to know and have an overview of.
Language of the rom
WWE = English. Rest speaks for itself
18-05-2010 Topic created. Going to make it better looking soon.
11-06-2010 small update, consider this v0.2
15-06-2010 Now you can also view the rom's on google docs click here this way my updates will be visible faster
Feedback & corrections verry welcome!
might need this one too if im going to expand it a lot.
nice sheet.
my opinion:
-change "start top" to "6.5.0"
-change "start bottom" to "6.5.X"
-just use "X" instead of build number (you dont have to update it again and again just for build updates)
-hd2o has 6.5.0 variants too (not correct in sheet)
-hd2o has cht included (not correct in sheet)
-i would not include the "gtx themed" row because you can install this as a cab and its not a fundamental mod like cht.
-"sense cfc-compressed"-row needed
-free space after flash (dependant on many things like ram-hack/leave out things/compression/ramdisk/pagepool etc; i think you should remove this row or test every rom yourself)
-graphical mods-row (none/light/medium/heavy; to determine if its close to stock looking)
-pagepool-row needed

that i will do i just named it that way so the noobs would understand it better. but not having to change the builds every time outweighs that.

Yeah i figured i could remove that row becouse its not verry common. also going to remove that 576mb row becouse every rom seems to have it.
making a row like CFC Compressed / Uncompressed is a good idea. gonna work on that too
thanks for the feedback.
FANTASTIC!!! FANTASTIC!!! FANTASTIC!!!
Would be great to see some array of benchmarks on this! Maybe one for graphics, one for time it takes to load 500 single messages (obviously from a standard SBP restore, so that its the same)

pretty sure the mods won't allow benchmarks to be included, however useful they may be.
i made a perfect benchmark performance reference video for you all.
source: samsung sound demo 1920x1080 9000KB/s
endfile: 800x480 2000KB/s (full hd2-resolution; no scaling needed)
hd_other_samsung_sound_demo2000kbs.mp4
when testing and comparing you have to follow the rules:
-mtty
-rom flash
-hard-reset
-install tcpmp
-soft-reset
-plug in power-cord (cpu-scaling!!)
-start phone
-start tcpmp
-load benchmark video
-set zoom to 100% (no picture scaling needed anyway; just to make sure)
-start the tcpmp benchmark
-always use the same (fresh formated) sdcard with this video file on it
-you have to state that the results can vary
feel free to add this video to your first post (but give me my conversion credits).
enjoy and happy benchmarking...
Very much appreciated . Excellent job

Hi Jamieeeee,
Thank you so much for picking this up this useful endeavour.
Not certain if you had been privy to the previous discussions about such an idea - Please can you take a look at this thread for some further ideas to extend, develop and ultimately grow what you start into a community-driven resource:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=658641
Also, you will see there that there is a member (bowpay) with another site developed specifically to provide this level of functionality: http://xdaroms.com
Perhaps it is also worth making contact with him...
All the best and thanks again,
Hirshy
Might be a idea to tutn this into a googlee doc???
Least people can go in and update :_)

Perhaps start as a thread, work it to a useable format, gathering feedback, comments, suggestions and requests, then move to the Wiki. I recon, if the format and fields are all dimensioned extensively and well enough, the resulting table/wiki would be adopted across all devices.

In addition to bowpay's endeavours, I would like to state that while the Chef's participation is preffered, it might not be mandatory:
Indeed the concept of Wiki would enable users to keep the table up-to-date. The larger the sample size of users representing a particular rom, the more accurate the detail as time and user-base increases: ala "The Wisdom of Crowds".
So even if the cook provides just the initial basic information, or nothing at all, it would not prevent such an idea from working. This is dependant on the Wiki model for user updates - which is available here at XDAdevs. This is probably a benefit over the model that bowpay has for rom cataloging, which I think is dependant soley on the chef's input and maintenance, however I am always open to correction.

I think this would work here on XDA-Devs better than a google-doc?...
Feedback welcome,
Hirshy
thanks for the feedback guys im working on a improved file with some changes,
- No more build numbers. i will keep this one on here untill its outdated (wont be that long) becouse its to much work to keep track who updated what.
- No more 576mb enabled row (every rom i encountered had it enabled with the proper radio)
- Stripped version row, now making a difference between Yes and Available
- added: Graphical Mods, Sense CFC (un)Compressed and Pagepool row.
- Removed the CTX row.
- Added the SPA row. sorry for the spanish people i missed ur country lol
i think i luv you! thanks for doing this.
your idea of the amount of available memory after flashing is a very good one as well.
would it be too much work to show what mods/apps come pre-installed?
Great Effort! with everyones help this may be up-to-dat and accurate!
my 5 cents;
Artemis has no 576 support as far as i know (an is on his own post ;0 )
Just a suggestion but in the next update can you please include a cell with the additional application highlights? and also reorder it so it's in alphabetical order?
Also a generic question (not sure if this is the right place for it but hey). Do the new builds of wm6.5 have the start button at the bottom of the screen by default? corrently i have 1.66.405.2 Official installed on my phone and the start button is at the top.
Thanks for your comments.
this is pretty awesome!
very good idea! thank you for your contribution, this will be very helpful to a lot of people!
Awesome initiative, but like a previous poster said, let's try to keep benchmarks out of this. We've seen nothing but bad stuff come of it in the past, and we'd hate to have it repeated. Enjoy er
p.s. Here, I'll sticky this for better exposure, as long as you promise to keep it updated
Re: Overview of the different ROM's & Features [18th May updated]
Does anyone know how to get a MT3G 1.6 rooted bcuz sappimg is not working for me it says its an older version or something

Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
Are all the ROM variants listed already?
I ask since for the CleanEX Black Series there are currently 10 different ROMs to choose from and the current sheet only has CleanEX Black Series Listed as 1 ROM...
Any way Chefs can help update this, if ever?

does this rom has animated weather, like rain drops similar to m2d v1.2????
Beta 2 ROM
I want to commend you for getting a second Beta ROM on-line so fast. That's great.
I dl'd it and installed it earlier. It is a fast and smooth ROM. The way that you've got 4 columns of icons versus the standard 3 columns is unique. And having M2D burned into the ROM is nice.
But on a downside, there's a lot less free space available (roughly 10 MB) with this ROM compared to your Beta 1 ROM with M2D v2.0 loaded. I installed the Beta 2 ROM, reset it and loaded the flash player cab, then set the time and date and synced it to my system. Without doing anything else I show about 53MB free.
I reloaded your Beta 1 ROM, reset it, loaded the flash player cab etc. just like I did with the Beta 2 ROM and then loaded M2D v2.0 and I have about 63MB free.
I'm not sure where the space all went between the two ROMs.
I'm not complaining about it and I sure don't want to offend, because I sure don't know how to do this, I just want to point out what I see with the ROM. Your work is very good and I appreciate the effort.

Yes I know.... beta2 rom uses about 10% more ram.
This rom uses a lot of ram because I increased the memory cache, this significantly increase the speed of applications and the scroll. If you prefer to have more free RAM, then install "adv. Comfig. Tool", go to performances and disable "File System Cache", "file system filter cache" and "glyph cache and you'll find with almost 60% of free RAM...
Advanced Config. Tool:

anyway thanks for trying my rom!

Test Drive
First of I am sorry I am posting this here (Beta1 Pajerm ROM) as well but wanted to make sure Mr Pajerm was notified
Today was first day of the test drive, noticed a few glitches.
1) clockspeed drops to 186MHz after a while, not sure as to y it drops
2) Manila (the one you included) has problems in the music section, continues to search and search.
3) Windows Media Player is unable to handle 320kbps audio easily. (Just skips tracks)
4) Not having the scroll bar i thought was a good idea but i did notice that some apps become hard to use such as OMAPclock itself (It uses a sideways scroll bar, i think and not having the scroll bar leaves us unable change clock speed manually,
5) Battery gets consumed really really fast, (its not a side affect of the overclocking). Only while the screen is running.
6) On install of Ezinput, the ROM has to be restarted but it hangs in the Primary Splash screen itself.
7) Realised mp4 is not supprted. (This isnt a glitch and not sure if it really does need to be include, this should depend on demand.)
btw, amazing boot speed!!!
As far as the Manila "Music" Tab goes, this cab file should help. Something i downloaded a while back right here at xda,
Oh and I am amazed at your working speed, hats off to you!!

Allrighty then, that explains the RAM.
I may look into the advanced configuration tool and see how the performance changes when the memory cache is changed, but not right now. I've got too many other things on my plate and don't have the time. I don't load a whole lot of apps onto my phone so the lower amount may not be a problem, I just couldn't see where the loss of RAM went. Thanks for the info.
Is there anyway to get the bluetooth icon working? Or will that be left for a future Beta ROM?
the good
1. super fast
2. huge amt of internal storage space available
3. amzing boot speed
4. looks amzing
5. sms problem solved from the above cab
the bad
1. internet tab, music tab and maps tab doesnt work by default(need to install all the cabs to get them work).
2. bluetooth icon doesnt appear.
Its been a great progress....
Thank u for providing such a beautiful rom....
Overclocked???
Please donot overclock the ROM on urself...Please lev it to the users as OVERCLOCKING damages the CPU...I am facing problems with tremendous memory leaks on the fone...Next tym, just point out a link on the post of the new ROM u make and let the user decide...this will keep you off trouble...
are you sure? my opal is overclocked at 276 from about 11 months and it is healthy as a fish....
still ok, now I remove the native overclocking...
Yup!!

YA....i wont like to criticize good work...but seriously,i am facing memory leaks on the opal since 2months now,the device getting nearly killed up at 45% of used space...none,not e1 the memory cleaners help to free up the space..i need an ultra lite stock rom...still,i wanted to keep you off problems,so advised...

Oh Damn! Native overclock was nice... Maybe you should have a poll for overclocking bit after all we are in beta stage right?.
I get you dont listen to music on your phone but could you try addressing the issue any way for the sake of the rest of us? and i installed Ezinput because i dint find a phone keypad, only the full fledged keyboard was available.
Thanx again. Regards.
I Agree..
May be you should have a poll on what features people want on the ROM...Ur final version should be a result of the inputs put by all the users...as it is,not evry1 is lucky to make his own rom and share...

@pajerm, y dont you have a poll of all the mods and requirements.
That would definately make this the best ROm out there.
