You can change the DPI of the display in WM5 by changing the following keys:
HKLM/Drivers/Display/GPE/
LogicalPixelsX
LogicalPixelsY
Using 96 for both should give you what you would expect from upgrading from 320x240 to 640x480 - i.e. 4x as much "screen space."
HOWEVER!
When I choose a LogicalPixelsX (height) value lower than 192 (even 190) apps like Contacts and Calculator refuse to run and various icons & display elements disappear. LogicalPixelsY doesn't seem to make a difference.
Any ideas?
Its just one of those things mate. The VGA hacks all reduce the size to 96dpi that being half of the normal 192. Any other ratio just doesnt seem to wash. A cpl of ppl have had success with 144 (I think). I didnt myself. My sad conclusion is the best solution is to use the .mui file hack to you can at least have apps like Adobe, Pocket Streets, and some games run in true VGA mode.

Hi,
when u change the dpi, u must ensure that the corresponding files are available in your windows directory! Search for *192*.* files in your windows directory....these are resource files built to suit 192 dpi. When you change it to, lets say 96dpi, you must have the same equivalent file *96*.* files, otherwise you'd have missing icons and graphics!
Hope that answers!

No, it was with *any* value below 192, including 96. I tried 96 first.

they are dlls, so you must make sure you've turned "show all files/ system files" option on, else you wont find them!
Anyways, here is a bunch of DLLs for you...(rename them to whatever DPI you want, and copy them into your windows folder).
I've included a Disable certificates cab file, which is needed to make sure windows chooses unsigned files to run....so that the new resource files you provide are accepted by windows....
let me know how it works!
cheers,
S
Wow, thanks! You exceeded my expectations!
I can see the files now, in the first instance I was looking for them on the device instead of with ActiveSync.
Will try it now & let you know how it went...
Perfect! Thankyou

Thats great, you finally got it working!
You'd have many apps screwed up in vga mode, thats common! For some of the default system apps, there are fixes which you could apply....look around the forum for the words "fixed" & "VGA"....and you should find them.
cheers,
San
PS: Whats with the contact details? I dont remember having a problem there!
What device are you doing this one if you dont mind me asking?
I just noticed the soft blue lights there looks alot cooler then the red menace of the jasjar. Then again I thought the jasjars was good till I saw the blue keyboard backlight so maybe its a case of the grass is greener

In case Osir1s is not aware: the O2 Xda Exec is the exact same device as the iMate JasJar. Except it has a blue keyboard backlight (probably a tiny bit more expensive to make) and a different font on the keys. Oh, and the body is in a really nice matt black. But I keep having to wipe my grubby fingerprints off it with a cloth made for cleaning LCDs.
heh well thanks for the info but yes I tend to do my research before purchasing an expensive gadget so I know about the exec; just hadnt seen a pic of the blue backlight.
I actually was all keen on importing an Exec until I discovered the finish on it. The same with the XDA Atom, the piano black finish ruins it for me. I learnt my lesson with casing like that from the Motorola mpx200. I was forever wiping that thing down.
Will be a cold day in hell when I go back to those days
This is my 2nd matt black device, the first was a custom case for a little Samsung A300 which I still have. Arriving in the post soon will be a tiny bluetooth GPS device (which appears to have an accelerometer inside it) which is also matt black.
BTW, speaking of "expensive" - the Exec only cost me about AU$360 (with a ~AU$45/mo contract)
Ooh, I just thought of the ideal accessory for the Universal - remember the "tiny" phone in Fifth Element which looks huge by today's standards? How about a bluetooth "headset" like that? One that you hold to your ear, so it's easier to operate. Probably a good way forward for most mobiles now - if they'd only engineered bluetooth to handle connection with more than one device at a time. Then you could buy different brands of GSM radio, handset, camera, storage, keypad, display and use them all together. No doubt there would be a bluetooth capable iPod which would allow you to store all your contacts alongside your tracks. Oh well, maybe next time.
One problem I still have not being able to solve:
It is quite easy to change the DPI with the method described above (i.e. copying the corresponding .dll's to windows directory and changing the 2 registry entries).
So far so good.
I have however up to now not been able to find a background (*.tsk file) which is large enough for true VGA (except the Windows standard which I don't like).
All the other *.tsk files I am using on VGA 192 display smaller on the true VGA resolution.
Is there a way to increase the size of the *.tsk files ? Couldn't find a graphics editor yet to do that (not even infantview which normally reads almost everything)
Anybody has an idea ?
Cheers
hrb
Yes like most devices you will find the European and Australian versions of expensive are quite different, ie. Until this month infact no Aust. provider has provided the jasjar on a plan, hence these must be purchased out right for $1500 odd dollars, hence I consider that an expensive device.
I suspect even when Vodaphone do offer this device on contract later this month the monthly fee with be the usual $99, although likely with a cap plan so some repreive there; still expensive though.

It doesn't really matter. Threads can meander around the subject and take on side issues from time to time, and I think trying to force them into a channel of The Original Subject can stunt the overall community spirit. It also doesn't do a great deal for ones latteral thinking or creativity to keep so focused. How can you think outside the box if you're locked inside it?

as far as i know there is no Answering system works with wm2003
so i think the problem regarding the answering machine has been solved in WM5 but there is no individual application to enable answering system on other wm5 phone edition PPC's like Prophet, is there any answering program like the one used in i-teq?
please introduce it if you any.
here is screen shot of i-teq bond
lover - this is a specific software and hardware solution provided by Gigabyte. It's not a generic WM5 solution.
Have a read around the board on why that might be the case.

The overdub could be awesome too.

so i think this is a software which is in ROM and there is no hardware added, ithink so.
it would be great if some one get that software from the original ROM.
thanks for sharing
lover: I'm inclined to disagree. I've tried the app on the Magician, Universal and Mio A701. No joy.
The attached, ripped from the ROM, may require other associated files, but I've tried the whole ROM in its complete form. It appears to be non English, so I may be reading it wrong, but let me know if you have any luck.

than you very much but
it didnt work on my JAMin., does any one knows which company is the developer of this software?
Maybe I'm missing something here, but can someone enlighten me as to why you would want an answering machine on your phone when your mobile phone carrier already supplies you with that service? Just want to make sure I'm not missing out on any features here.
i dun think its just a software api that does this answering machine..
most likely to be a hardware inside the phone that is not present in other phones.
It is just a software!
There is a rom (2.03 Beta TofClock Himalaya) and it has this answering machine...
bepe: I think that's specific to the Himalaya. Because of the way the modem works on PocketPC phones, not all (in fact, it seems, very few) have the audio path accessible by the device itself for two way recording.
Have a read through here. If you've had any sucess, please post:

Just my two cents...
I don't think the software won't work on any device other than g-Smart range, it's to do with the hardware of the phone, not WM5. Without this hardware I believe it is impossible to record both sides of the conversation without some massive application, which will probably (a) slow the ppc right down, as will need to be integrated into the OS, and (b) not be that cheap either.
Regards.
just a quick qn.. if i want to try on my hermes, how to i 'install' it?
do i need to tweak any registry settings?
thanks
that would be a great app i think!! i'm on pay as you go and orange charge 10p per min to retieve voicemail!! would be super if the phone itself took over and saved an mp3 or something to the memory card!!! no charges!!
come on!!! some make or find it!!!
How much would it cost to sponsor someone to get true VGA working on the Athena and get all of the icon and display issues resolved then post the package on the forum for everyone to download?
If the price is right I may be willing to sponsor such a project. If anyone wants to contribute you're welcome to join in.
I just don't know how to do this myself or would. But I would be willing to pay for someone's time to get this done and give it away for free to everyone on the forum.
it must be really cheap because if you try TrueVGA you can see that there are only 2 ore 3 bugs...
CommManager
3G Icon
Software Keyboard (use Resco, it is much better *gg*)
So it can´t be difficult for an expert ....
I regrettably don´t know what to do :-(
WM6 and VGA

Thanks for the reply. My keyboard works perfectly in trueVGA mode. The problems I've identified are CommManager, Connection Icon, Phone (which was fixed with a CAB file so is no longer an issue, some setting screens also, the HTC icon bar for the Today screen...and I know there are others. I can provide an exhaustive listing if needed.

May I add to this list Copilot Live (version 5 is what I'm using) - missing option configuration tabs. Also, the application is now covering only 1/4 of the screen. Not what I want really. I want it to cover the entire screen.
I think the entire HTCHomeplug is unuseable and need replacement.
Oh well, may just have to switch back to QVGA when driving.
if someone wants to test for me i could probably get the OS working in true VGA, 3rd party apps however are another problem, some just never work properly in true VGA.
Hi Midget,
I'm happy to test, not so worried about 3rd party apps as long as they work in standard mode while the today screen is VGA so I can see all my today apps at once...

I have re-installed MVRTrue vga today to look at the prevailing niggles and advantages.
Cheifly I feel that the icons are just a bit TOO small. For such a nice, crisp screen this seems like an awful waste of fingering posibility (for want of a better word!). If the icons could be somewhere in size between standard and MvR that would be superb.
MvR seems to slow down my Advantage dramatically sometimes - particularly the today screen, which seems to struggle to refresh - has anyone else experienced this?
I like the small address bars and sidebars - these really make a difference to window space with Internet Explorer and (even more crucially) The Midlet manager. I would be interested to know if there is a registry fix just for this in the interim.
If a new VGA app is developed I would like to hot-swap between modes without a restart as inevitably certain applications will never function correctly in tru VGA mode. a today button for this function would be wonderful if it's possible.
p.s. midget I'm more than happy to test any VGA mod you can develop, Im always installing and re-installing anyway.

a restart is needed to change modes due to the way WM works.
Thank you midget. I shall try and find that sidebar hack. perhaps google will be a simpler route.
With regard to the icon size then would I be right in thinking that wm6 has only qvga and vga icon support, so nothing in-between can be utilized?
Or am I confusing myself...I am thinking that this means there is no way of altering the icon size at all in the way that you can with windows xp.
Sorry for the noob responses but I'm genuinely interested. A display settings add-on on a par with windows xp display settings would be REALLY amazing. don't you think?
(I appreciate that a windows pc and a PDA are completely different things, but you've gotta dream a dream)

Midget_1990, we need to get this going. Let me know when you're ready and now that you're getting a device you can test no your own phone. ;-)
Let's see if you can fix the little quircks so we can get trueVGA running all the time without the graphics going out of wack.
EDIT: And I understand that we wont be able to fix everything. And I know people don't expect all apps to work perfectly. The goal should be to make defaults within the OS render as properly as possible in trueVGA mode. I think vijay555 already "fixed" some of the issues recently reported and we can either involve him on this or get permission (if required) to build on his work.

: Flashing your device is dangerous. I take no responsibility and am not going to bother labelling this "beta" since i think pretty much everything you get from xda-devs is beta :d
Instructions for flashing:
1. Get a microsd card sized 2 gb or lower (sdhc won't work) and format it with regular fat filesystem. Copy my flash.dio to the root of the card. Insert card into your device.
2. Make sure your battery has a decent charge (over 50%) and isn't connected to any usb charge or sync cable (or else your device will just go into ruu mode).
3. Put your device into sdloader mode (holding volup+ok(button on right side) and pressing reset.)
4. Sdloader will check the file integrity, flash to your device rom, do a clean reboot (can take a minute longer than usual) and then go into the "welcome to windows mobile, tap here to continue" stuff.
This rom is based from build 21202 to the Benjaminries.
Flash it, test it out, report bugs, much appreciated.

In version 1.3 are:
Registry Editor.
Weather in the panel CHOME
Remove File Explore and add Total Commander?????
I don't know if is hard to include applications like:
- Total Commander
- SIM Manager
- WM5Storage
- Backlight Controller
- PIM Backup
- Opera
- PocketRAR
I don't know too much about cook ROMs, but if I can help you in something please let me know.
That would be nice, and also a few more themes...
Hi Montecristo
I have been using your ROM for the past 3 days, and i must admit it is very stable and quick. It responds with great immediacy, now my 914c behaves more like a phone than a fragmented 98 PC. Good work.
As for any future builds, this is my opinion,
Try and keep the ROM as light and as fast as possible, i would definately prefer this over many included apps.
programs like
burt iContactBE
Miniamal Dialer
are quite kool.
anything else is just really extra...
for me stability, speed, performance and nice GUI in that order are key.
Not sure why not so many people have tried this ROM.
Gotta say it rocks.
Love the Ying Yang, but also the text on the home screen disappear into the lighter colour ( not using 6.5 theme with panels, it just doesnt rock my boat)
oh by the way, got skype working finally.

I will try this ROM this week, I was not able before due work reasons, but so far comments are really good and I'm looking forward to test it.
I just saw this and now I'm digging through my suitcase in a hotel to see if I have another sdcard, but alas no other card, just 4gig sdhc.
I have a couple questions though. Is this rom localized, as in English language.
You said it is spb shel , do we need a license for it or is it open?
Could you possibly give a list of what is in the ROM, Office? Is there a good media player or still windows media player, is there a good wireless manager or windows default? Just curious for some more information.
Sorry to ask instead of see, but I can't right now because I'm out of town, and also I use this phone for work sometimes, so some things I need. It sounds like you did a great job and it is much more stable than the crap normal ROM, plus v6.5! But I still need some stuff in it.
Sorry again for all the questions. If all else fails I'll flash it on the weekend and see for myself.

This ROM is in English language, only that the dictionary is in Spanish. I am preparing some files so that they can change that.

incrediblely stable
Very very stable, a lot better than the original official ROM and other 6.1 ROMs.
There should be a disconnect button in the connection icon at the top bar.
I just installed it on my iPAQ today. It runs really smooth. One thing I noticed is that the scroll bars look a little distorted, idk if it's because the OS is a beta version or 6.5 wasn't designed for a QVGA screen.
I only got around to installing it yesterday, just been busy. I've been playing around and kind of torture testing it. It does seem to be really stable, what a huge improvement! Nice and fast too.
Couple questions for anyone though.
What are you using spb for? The weather plug in?
I've been messing around with CHome and I haven't had any luck. Configurator for instance, does not respond to any commands at all. I'm looking around at it, but figured I'd ask if I'm just missing something obvious.
The Home screen itself works, but I cannot change any settings at all, dock the clock panel for instance, or hide/show any panels.
Only really bad thing is my battery life seems to be really bad. Just as an example, I lost about 5% battery in just about 5 minutes. That's kind of a killer for me unfortunately. I'll play with some settings some more, but that's pretty rough. Anybody else seeing the same thing?

This rom is suggested in the words and the Spanish word correction also in Spanish.
I've been using this ROM for a couple of weeks now. Overall, very good ROM, fast and fairly stable, looks good and everything works pretty well. Just a couple minor problems.
Like always with the factory ROM, the SD card loses connection sometimes, less often now but still does it. Also like factory, I have still had some problems with dropped or missed calls, and loosing BT connection to headset.
Problem I did not have in factory ROM. I've had the phone not list some calls in call history log. I will miss a call and have a voicemail, but the call is not listed in history as missed. Not a big deal really, just pointing it out.
Battery life is really bad. It always has been, but it's quite a bit worse with the 6.5 ROM. I used to get through a fairly busy day of calls and e-mail, etc, only just make it through the day but I could. Now with this ROM the only way I make it through a whole day without charging is if I don't do much with the phone Not really an option.
Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to charge during the day alot of times, so this is kind of a killer for me. I think I'll have to try one of the 6.1 ROMs. I'll keep an eye on this to see if you can fix the battery life and I can try it again, but I'm guess 6.5 just uses more power by it's nature.
None the less, thank you very much for the work on this, it really is a great ROM, especially coming in the early days of ROM cooking for these devices. You did a great job!

Hi! First post!
Just one question before flash: is screen rotate function enabled? Cause its the only reason I would flash... I'm having problems running some games/apps, as you probably know already ... Also if anyone knows how to rotate screen without flashing, PLEASE PM me!!!
Thanks!!!
Hello everone!
I noticed a lot of questions from new guys who are completely lost in all the different roms out there!
So i thougt why not make a topic that gives an overview of all the rom's and whats in it.
First let me explain what is basicly different.
Take a look at the excel file you can download below. you see there are a lot of rom's listed on the left side!
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now it all comes down to your personal choosings. do you want a rom where the start menu is at the top take one where row C ("Start at top") is filled in. A higher number means a newer version. Newer versions are better (most of the time)
You want it at the bottom? Take one where row D ("Start at bottom") is filled in with a number.
Do you have a T-Mobile US HD2? pick a rom where row E says Yes!
Row F tells you if the ROM is ready to enable the 576mb RAM in combination with a proper radio ROM.
Cookie Home Tab + Editor
A lot of roms have the Cookie Home Tab (+editor) cooked in. CHT (cookies home tab) is a great addition to manilla and i would recommend using a rom where it's cooked in. If properly cooked it can boost preformance (more info on the CHT can be found here.)
GTX Themed
Some ROM's have the GTX Theme cooked in (more info of the GTX Theme can be found here) The theme cooked in makes it preform better.
I am currently working on filling row G & F. I could use you to give feedback of whats the free program memory straight after a flash (no 3d apps installed) I think this would be really usefull to know and have an overview of.
Language of the rom
WWE = English. Rest speaks for itself
18-05-2010 Topic created. Going to make it better looking soon.
11-06-2010 small update, consider this v0.2
15-06-2010 Now you can also view the rom's on google docs click here this way my updates will be visible faster
Feedback & corrections verry welcome!
might need this one too if im going to expand it a lot.
nice sheet.
my opinion:
-change "start top" to "6.5.0"
-change "start bottom" to "6.5.X"
-just use "X" instead of build number (you dont have to update it again and again just for build updates)
-hd2o has 6.5.0 variants too (not correct in sheet)
-hd2o has cht included (not correct in sheet)
-i would not include the "gtx themed" row because you can install this as a cab and its not a fundamental mod like cht.
-"sense cfc-compressed"-row needed
-free space after flash (dependant on many things like ram-hack/leave out things/compression/ramdisk/pagepool etc; i think you should remove this row or test every rom yourself)
-graphical mods-row (none/light/medium/heavy; to determine if its close to stock looking)
-pagepool-row needed

that i will do i just named it that way so the noobs would understand it better. but not having to change the builds every time outweighs that.

Yeah i figured i could remove that row becouse its not verry common. also going to remove that 576mb row becouse every rom seems to have it.
making a row like CFC Compressed / Uncompressed is a good idea. gonna work on that too
thanks for the feedback.
FANTASTIC!!! FANTASTIC!!! FANTASTIC!!!
Would be great to see some array of benchmarks on this! Maybe one for graphics, one for time it takes to load 500 single messages (obviously from a standard SBP restore, so that its the same)

pretty sure the mods won't allow benchmarks to be included, however useful they may be.
i made a perfect benchmark performance reference video for you all.
source: samsung sound demo 1920x1080 9000KB/s
endfile: 800x480 2000KB/s (full hd2-resolution; no scaling needed)
hd_other_samsung_sound_demo2000kbs.mp4
when testing and comparing you have to follow the rules:
-mtty
-rom flash
-hard-reset
-install tcpmp
-soft-reset
-plug in power-cord (cpu-scaling!!)
-start phone
-start tcpmp
-load benchmark video
-set zoom to 100% (no picture scaling needed anyway; just to make sure)
-start the tcpmp benchmark
-always use the same (fresh formated) sdcard with this video file on it
-you have to state that the results can vary
feel free to add this video to your first post (but give me my conversion credits).
enjoy and happy benchmarking...
Very much appreciated . Excellent job

Hi Jamieeeee,
Thank you so much for picking this up this useful endeavour.
Not certain if you had been privy to the previous discussions about such an idea - Please can you take a look at this thread for some further ideas to extend, develop and ultimately grow what you start into a community-driven resource:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=658641
Also, you will see there that there is a member (bowpay) with another site developed specifically to provide this level of functionality: http://xdaroms.com
Perhaps it is also worth making contact with him...
All the best and thanks again,
Hirshy

Perhaps start as a thread, work it to a useable format, gathering feedback, comments, suggestions and requests, then move to the Wiki. I recon, if the format and fields are all dimensioned extensively and well enough, the resulting table/wiki would be adopted across all devices.

In addition to bowpay's endeavours, I would like to state that while the Chef's participation is preffered, it might not be mandatory:
Indeed the concept of Wiki would enable users to keep the table up-to-date. The larger the sample size of users representing a particular rom, the more accurate the detail as time and user-base increases: ala "The Wisdom of Crowds".
So even if the cook provides just the initial basic information, or nothing at all, it would not prevent such an idea from working. This is dependant on the Wiki model for user updates - which is available here at XDAdevs. This is probably a benefit over the model that bowpay has for rom cataloging, which I think is dependant soley on the chef's input and maintenance, however I am always open to correction.

I think this would work here on XDA-Devs better than a google-doc?...
Feedback welcome,
Hirshy
thanks for the feedback guys im working on a improved file with some changes,
- No more build numbers. i will keep this one on here untill its outdated (wont be that long) becouse its to much work to keep track who updated what.
- No more 576mb enabled row (every rom i encountered had it enabled with the proper radio)
- Stripped version row, now making a difference between Yes and Available
- added: Graphical Mods, Sense CFC (un)Compressed and Pagepool row.
- Removed the CTX row.
- Added the SPA row. sorry for the spanish people i missed ur country lol
i think i luv you! thanks for doing this.
your idea of the amount of available memory after flashing is a very good one as well.
would it be too much work to show what mods/apps come pre-installed?
Great Effort! with everyones help this may be up-to-dat and accurate!
my 5 cents;
Artemis has no 576 support as far as i know (an is on his own post ;0 )
Just a suggestion but in the next update can you please include a cell with the additional application highlights? and also reorder it so it's in alphabetical order?
Also a generic question (not sure if this is the right place for it but hey). Do the new builds of wm6.5 have the start button at the bottom of the screen by default? corrently i have 1.66.405.2 Official installed on my phone and the start button is at the top.
Thanks for your comments.
this is pretty awesome!
very good idea! thank you for your contribution, this will be very helpful to a lot of people!
Awesome initiative, but like a previous poster said, let's try to keep benchmarks out of this. We've seen nothing but bad stuff come of it in the past, and we'd hate to have it repeated. Enjoy er
p.s. Here, I'll sticky this for better exposure, as long as you promise to keep it updated

Any way Chefs can help update this, if ever?
DruROM2 is based on Mangasora's WWE clean rom build 28244 - 5 downloads!
Many more system apps removed than DruROM1 - if you are looking for more storage/memory, with lighter look, but more functions - DruROM2 is the answer!
Guys, I need feedback on this ROM, without feedback, I can't make better ROMs according to the needs of users! Please leave a feedback if you download any of the DruROMs..
FREE Program memory on boot: 97-100 MB
FREE Storage memory on boot: 227 MB
Titanium UI and Windows Lock screen but Windows start menu removed - LOTS OF FREE RAM + FASTER ROM + BETTER BATTERY (being tested)!!
Please hard reset after you install this ROM by pressing - Volume up+Power+Camera buttons for upto 10 seconds

Make a folder in your storage card and name it XDA_UC
Put your registry entries and your cabs that you want to install as soon as you finish the flash
Flash you phone
Go to start -> UC_NET Customize ->Press 'customize'

UNSOLVED BUGS

FAQs - HELP QUESTIONS:
IE shows error screen but on pressing cancel you can use it normally - this is because a package is missing in the original build. I am happy to add it but looking at the number of XDA users who use IE, I din't re-cook it. Opera works faster and better.
I removed MMApplauncher, can't access start menu now - You won't be able to because mmapplauncher has been installed INSTEAD OF start menu. This ROM does not have WINMO startmenu so please don't remove mmapplauncher. The reason is removal of start menu saves valuable 15-20mb RAM that makes this rom faster even with multitasking.
Finger Keyboard - It shows error or I don't like it or it's rubbish etc etc - Please install another keyboard that is available in the forum. The reason I haven't cooked in a keyboard is solely because it's a very very personal choice that change from user to user and if you don't like your keyboard, you will hate your phone!
Linux/Ubuntu users can't active sync - Yes, reason being .exe files are not support in Linux and hence you can only install programs in VirtualBox - however, I have removed few packages to save 5-7mb of storage in the ROM as Linux based users are in minor numbers. On Linux you will still be able to activate this phone as 'mass storage device' and will be able to add or remove files, photos, music etc from the memory card. Only thing not possible is - ActiveSync program installations on Linux.
If any of the above answer does not satisfy your hunger for your choice of ROM, please PM me and I will cook the ROM as you want!
I won't know, if you don't say it!

I totally agree with this!
I don't like the mm app launcher as well, it's too loosely calibrated. It will sweep right at the top even with single flick! But only + point is, it saves about 10mb of useful program ram compared to normal start menu. By using mirom's mod, start menu is totally removed (saved 10mb) and then something to replace start menu i.e. access it - mmapplaucher! You might be able to use sommething else, if you have cab to replace start menu. I haven't tried it myself as I just use SPB Shell for accessing progs etc.
Re: camera
I tested and it will work uptil last 20% as well on DruROM3! So all good so far.
Also, there is a cab/reg tweak floating somewhere in forum that will remove even 20% barrier i.e you can use wifi and camera till the phone is totally drained! if you want, give that a go too, will defo work on this rom!
FAQs in POST 1
Hello Everyone!
I am writing this post in most of my threads so that everyone is well informed. I am not sure if you will get annoyed to see the identical post in more than 1 thread. The only reason being, I want everyone who visits particular thread to know that I am going to be a rare visitor on TG01 forums from now.
As you might all know, I went on 3 weeks holiday (it was AWESOME!) only to find out that Orange had sent me a letter confirming that I should F***O** and they won’t be interested in either paying repair costs/ offering replacement handset/ offer any sort of money back for the malfunctioning TG01(s) (6 replacements to be precise) they have supplied me since January 2011! Since last 5 months, I wasn’t able to develop or help with roms/themes as I din’t trust my phone’s behaviour (it froze randomly making hard to know if it’s rom/theme doing it or actual phone). However, I have tried my best to help out in forum and also with beta tests.
My TG01 is now officially in coma. It doesn’t last more than 5 minutes without restarting. This has annoyed the piss out of me and I was helpless financially. However, I have managed to sell this TG01 for spare along with few old WinMos and Symbian phone to get me enough money to buy a brand new San Francisco (the cheapest option out there for smart phone at the moment!)
So, to keep the story short, all these threads, might not see any help at all from me in terms of development. I will still be willing to help anyone and everyone (whatever can be done without a TG01). If anyone would want to use any of my work so far – please feel free to PM me and I will happily share ROMs/THEMES/files etc that will help you to carry on the projects further.
It’s been absolute charm being a part of this forum and will miss it! I will be around in San Francisco forums anyway, so drop me a PM if you ever think of me
Long live TG01 and WinMos
(already saving up to buy new WP7!)
