Full QWERTY Keyboard Problem - Touch HD General

For some reason my 'Full QWERTY Keyboard' defaults to the numeric/symbol keys (normally accessed by pressing '123').
Pressing ABC to try and switch to letter keys has no effect at all.
Anyone seen this or have any ideas how I can fix it ?
thanks

Do you have PocketCM Keyboard installed? If yes uninstall it, both SIP conflict.

I haven't installed any other keyboards, are there any settings I can check. I have tweaked a few things with Tweak HD and am wondering if that has affected this somehow.
Can I re-install the HTC Keyboard ? Was going to try and find the install CAB by extracting the ROM in ROM Kitchen, not really sure where to look tho.

Have you enabled T9 in HD Tweak? That seems to be a common problem with that setting....

Ah yes I did do that, so to fix do I just turn it off again in Tweak HD ?
Just tried it and yes it has fixed the problem.
Thank you

Touch Keyboard autoswitch between 40&20 keys (Help)

Has anyone figured out how to prevent the Original "Touch Keyboard" on the Sprint HTC Touch from switching between the 40 key version to the 20 key version?
It's anoying whenyou need to type something it chages to the 20 key.
I've looked in the registries and I can't find anything related to that.
i know there was a cab released that hacks the touch keyboard to stay only on the 40key mode but it disables the xt9 in the process, if you can live without it
http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=146118&page=2
look at post #25 your just interested in the registry hack to make it only 40key
Hi,
Thanks for the Reply. But I didn't see a CAB file there. There is a more.zip files that looks like a full keyboard installation. not really a fix to the existing keyboard.
Is there anything else?
Thanks,
suggestion: get touchpal www.cootek.com
ya its a registry entry i typed it out wrong
teste2.zip contains the reg entries to turn the 20key permanently to the 40key

Not sure if this will help, but for me I have to make the following reg changes to get PCM working on udK's roms:

HD - Full QWERTY keyboard stuck on numbers.

Hi,
Just yesterday I have noticed a very strange issue. The full qwerty keyboard is permanently stuckup on number keypad which is visible when we press 123.
Any (desperate) attempts to press ABC to get the alphanumeric keyboard back just doesnt work. I tried several ways but its just not working.
I really do not want to do a hard reset for this issue. Is there any registry key that I maybe able to alter.
I dont know the source of this issue but my wild guess is it might have happened after I installed cab to skin the stock calculator.
Any help will be appreciated.

try change the input method to something else, then switch back (to full qwerty) to see if it defaults back to the qwerty

I had the same problem when I installed HD Tweak, it started happening.
I disabled the T9 only in HD Tweak, Shut down the phone, start it again and it went back to normal. No tricky stuff. At least it worked for me."
Worked for me too. Thanks.
T9 only in HD Tweak? Where is that... I looked on options about T9 and disabled it, no go... is there something else I am looking for?
Fix for Full Qwerty Keyboard Stuck On Numbers
This happened to me sometime after I performed this reghack to change word completion behavior:
IMPORTANT: be sure that HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\XT9SupportMSSip has a value of 0.
Change these two registry keys under:
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e0010409
* Value of Ime File from \windows\xt9ime.dll to \windows\compime.dll
* Value of Layout Text from XT9 IME to COMP IME
To fix it, I used a registry editor to revert back to XT9 settings, soft reset, verified normal Full Qwerty Keyboard functionality returned, then switched back to COMP settings by performing the above reghack again, soft reset, and now I have the auto-completion scheme I prefer and the Full Qwerty is back.
Hope this helps!

Faster SMS typing

I have a question.
I use Resco keyboard right now and put every T9 option off.
I just want to type without some autocorrection etc etc.
But I still get a black area above the keyboard when typing.
Tried every option, but can't get it away.
Any of you wizards know the solution?
Thanks.
PS: Searched the forum, but couldn't find an answer, attached a screenshot
Check out FingerKeyboard2 thread.
Even if you don't like the keyboard itself, among the attached files you can find global T9 disable patch. Maybe that would solve your problem.

Help!Full Qwerty Keyboard Missing. Only Numbers Keyboard!

Hi everyone...
I need advice on how to resolve this problem. When i select full qwerty keyboard option, the keyboard with ABC missing, only the numbers keyboard appears.
I read somewhere that people mentioned to deactivate T9 and problem will solved. I tried but nothing happen, problem still exits. I also tried soft reset a few times, problem is still there.
My HD is running on WM 6.5, is there a bug that causes this? I tried to select other keyboard, such as phone keypad and compact qwerty, nothing happen, still the same numbers keyboard appears.
Anyone please help...desperate here...
Thanks so much
did you install HD tweak and enable T9? if yes, then disable, soft-reset and that should correct the problem.

Hi brother cortez, thanks for your reply. I have not install tweak. I did try to disable T9 and soft reset, but it couldn't help.
I did a hard reset at last. But it happens again. I just found out that it is the problem with a program called ZTA4 which is a IME i installed for chinese input. I uninstall this software and the issue to missing keyboard will be solved. I then re-install the program again. Not sure if this is the right way to do it, but it solves the missing keyboard issue.
