On the TyTN II (Tilt) I had one hardware button which would start recording voice as I push it and stop recording as I release it, it would save it as a "Note". It used the regular "Notes" voice recording.
Could we have it on Xperia too? For example map one of the soft buttons to it?
It's a really good option to make notes when you're in a hurry or driving.
At the moment I would have to open the "Notes" application, make the "Recording toolbar" visible (perhaps there's a registry key to make it visible by default? I think the TyTN II had it visible by default) and then start recording - not really convenient.

Is there any kind of OS utility or enhancement that allows one-handed use of device without using touchscreen, like it is on WM2005?
Vito ButtonMapper
I use ButtonMapper to achieve this sort of result.
For example:
I press the first key (Contacts I think, by default) to:
- go up one level in File Explorer
- go back one page in Internet Explorer
- load my default playlist in Media Player
- mute in the Phone app
- switch between different zoom levels in RepliGo
- launch Start menu from the Today screen
I use the top and bottom button (voice record and camera by default) to:
- scroll up and down in the Calendar and ToDo apps
- turn the display on and off in Media Player and default
- record and stop recording in Notes
- rotate the screen
And when that sort of solution fails me, I fall back on MS Voice Command!
Hi,
There is a great feature of Qtek 9100 which allow to record yourself a memos by holding "Rec" button. I noticed it saves those as Notes but once it's saved I'd like to know that there is an action item is pending otherwise I'll forget about it. Is there any way to make a new task when memo is recorded or some other ways to remind me about recorded memo so I can take an action on it?
i installed a new skin for the dialer which doesn't have VIDEO button.
in the menu there isn't a way to make a video call.
what is the sollution?
set up new themes dialup skin with video button
but i like this one
but i like this one
there isn't an option to add a video dialling on the menu when i'm on the dialer screen?
The answer is you can't do that. It may sound odd, but the 3G button is quite bundled and buried deep inside the dialer skin libraries. The 3G function is there in the dialer - but just there's no button you can push.
In order for the skin to show the 3G button, it needs a function call to the 3G function. Chances are the skin you downloaded are not designed for 3G machines, and naturally lacks the user interface for that button.
No, you can't configure it, you can't do registry hacks.... it's inside that dialer skin DLL designed by the person who designed the skin.
I have been using Windows VoiceCommand for dialing and playing music through Windows Media Player. I'm startled by how well it interprets my input -- the only other voice dialer I used was on the Mogul, and not only did you have to set up tags for each number, it was so inaccurate that I didn't bother using it. I use VoiceCommand as my preferred method for dialing -- it's at a 95% hit rate on first attempt and close to 100% on the second.
Using it to play music is work better than I could have hoped -- I can walk down the street and issue commands into the headphone mic and the TP2 stays in the holster the whole time.
I have seen the list of commands available for VoiceCommand, but I want to know if anyone has written a configurator/editor to allow for more command and to allow VC to reach into other programs? Specifically, I'd like to be able to control the volume, use transport buttons, and perhaps even use other media players (like SP2).
Has anyone taken a crack at this?
You can activate Voicecommand on the TP2 with a long press of the answer key.
Thats cool, Is it in the Phone or do I have to download it. I've could use that feature.
FLYING FALCON
Here's a list of places to buy it:

It's around £ 30.

Hi,
I would like to add some features to my MS voice configurator.
I can make Volume control shortcuts.
I don't know what is transport buttons.
I could also make the other media player shortcuts if you tell me which app u want to play music with.
Thanks!
Keith
By "transport buttons", I mean the ability to FF, RW, or skip track. Perhaps it would be easier and more universal to have VC commands that mimic DPad controls -- "direction up", "direction down", "direction left", "direction right", since most transport controls are mapped to DPad keys.
VC has native commands for Media Player like "next track". But when I use S2P (Slide2Play), the command to skip to the next or previous track is not mapped to the DPad (left/right is skip time, and up/down is volume).
I'm definitely going to check out what you've worked up so far.
sanchezursua, Voice Command is native with WM as of 6.1. Press and hold the talk button to activate.
So adding L/R/U and D could be done by creating shortcuts like "Start Up" and linking to a Mortscript that does the up.
I will toss this into the next build of MSVC config.
Hello all!
On my Kaiser, I had a hardware button mapped to launch NoteM, which would auto-start recording. Most useful thing ever
Upgraded from the Kaiser to a Rhodium (Tilt 2) running the Clean Black Rhodium wm6.1 ROM. Installed NoteM, and used Keyboard Config to map it to the PTT button (tried others). NoteM launches, but doesn't start recording until I manually touch the tiny red recording button on the screen.
There's an option in NoteM, under Advanced Settings, to "Start/stop with a single press". Though active and checked on my Kaiser, it's disabled (greyed out and checked) on my Rhodium Has anyone here experienced this and found a remedy?
I've checked NoteM's registry settings, under \\HKCU\Software\Alexander Zavorine\NoteM\, and they're all exactly the same values between my Kaiser and Rhodium. Even copied the exact same files over from the Kaiser, but the "single press" option is still disabled. Do you know what the program is looking at that causes it to cripple itself like this?
Thanks a ton!
