I believe the latest Official release for PPC is Tomtom version 6.03.8320 although there was a version 6.032.8351 which was distributed with HTC P3600i phones. Make sure that you get as a minimum version 6.030.8320 as it is faster...more stable and recognises the built-in GPS. Of the earlier versions only version 6.00 and 6.01 were official releases...6.1 and 6.2 were not "Official" release.
I bought TomTom6 a week ago from www.gpscanada.com and my version is 6.01, paid 145.00 + 10.00 CAD for shipping. I have a tilt and GPS works perfect

Cool. Now on the query is where I can find the 6.03.8320 or the later 6.032.8351. I've tried googling for it but to little avail.
I've browsed the Tom Tom website in the PDA/pocket pc section and still can't find it.

Thanks. I prefer to purchase the latest though. I also need the maps for the UK. By the way, I take it you bought the DVD version?
Hi all. Update:
I've just got off the phone with a TomTom adviser from TomTom company (www.tomtom.com). They have told me the following.
I was told by by the advisor that I have to create account with TomTom. I then have to select navigator 6 model on the website and select the map types I want to purchase.
They told me that the latest updated maps for the UK cost £29.95 and maps for western europe cost £39.95.
I signed up with them and gave them email. Here is what they sent me by email:

I was also told that I can update my maps daily with a function called 'mapshare'. This tool allows users to download the latest maps from other users.
I was also told that the maximum memory card size I can use to put my maps on is 2 GB. I was told if I was to purchase an 8GB memory card, that I won't be able to put the maps on there, and that I would have to switch memory cards to access the maps if I was using an 8GB memory card

Just so you are aware..."mapshare" only works with the Tomtom 7 series maps (and only certain ones) and 7 series software which is for Tomtom devices such as One XL, 910 etc.
It will not work for PPC devices.
Also....version 6.01 will certainly work well on the Kaiser, but 6.03 and 6.032 are later versions...more stable...faster etc. the only downside is that there is a known bug which starts TT in muted mode (no sound) if you have a data session going when you start the TT application. Version 6.01 does not do this.
You should find that when you buy 6.01 you will be able to download software updates from the TT home log in.
Yes I bought the DVD. I do not think that only 2 GB cards can be used as I have installed mine on a 6 GB card and working fine. Also, I just received an email from TomTom stating that version 6 is the latest and there are no upgrades to it

Thanks for that info about Mapshare. It seems the info you’re given by TomTom varies according to the advisor you speak to.
I assume that the maps I will be given is the latest 6.03 or 6.032 as I was told that the TomTom website only has the latest software on their website. Moreover, I was even told that TomTom 5 for pocket pc is no longer available from their website...

Thanks. Having two memory cards, one for TomTom and an 8GB memory card for other stuff does seem inconvenient.
I do find it odd that some with the TyTN II are claiming to have bought the Minisd version of TomTom even though Minisd cards cannot fit in the TyTNII....

That info did not come from Tomtom but from the multitude of forums around relating to Tomtom software and maps.....I find these to be much more reliable than TT advisors.
I suggest you look at the thread below which will give you all the info you need...

Which version of version 6?
Refer to the thread below which explains it all in much better detail than I can.

Okay. I do notice that there is sometimes a lack of knowledge of Pocket pc products from the advisors.
The threads also helped. I never realised the topic had already been started in the ‘kaiser’ subtitle section

That should be correct. I used TomTom Navigator 5 on my old HP iPAQ hw6515, and when I wanted to upgrade my maps last year I was told that new maps were not available, but I could upgrade to TomTom Navigator 6 for $50. I took the upgrade deal, and I am currently running TomTom Navigator 6.010 on my HTC Tilt with a 4gb storage card. I can put the entire North American map on it and I can go anywhere in the US or Canada without switching maps.
Even if you could find TomTom 5 on Ebay, or elsewhere TomTom has stopped supporting it and there will not be any new maps available.

I previously had my tomtom and maps installed on a 2gb card for my PPC, but i got USA and Canada maps also as i travel there sometimes and tomtom can be quite handy. So as i have UK, france, spain, italy, portugal, germany maps (which i use alot) the USA and Canada wouldnt fit. Got an 8GB card, used the included card reaser to copy all my stuff and it works as well as before. So you can use an 8GB card on PPC for tomtom app and maps

I'm confused : I see Tomtom are selling Western and Central Europe 2GB V8.15 for Navigator 7 on PDA. Does this not work ? Please clarify, thanks.
Its all a question of having the right meta. I also thought that 19-meta would not run on our HD, but several members of other forums report it working, with the right meta. To be continued...
what is the difference between 815 and 725 maps?
The release date, WCE 815 for example is from July 2008, 725 from April 2008. The dates do not reflect when available from TT, but rather based on which release from TeleAtlas, the map provider.
Added three more new compatible maps.
Added two more new maps.
Anyone find any USA or North America maps that work?
From what I gather, all the 815 meta 22 maps works. Am currently running UK 815.2024, but I can find nothing updated that I know is wrong from 7.20 maps. Teleatlas are ****e!
With now two months in-between "major" map updates nothing much can be expected from the map publishers. But Mapshare by TT is really great, get the updates for your 815.2024 map.
By the way there are much more updates available via Home 2.3, since TT seems to separate the shares per Home version used, so shares via the newer 2.4 are lesser.
About 27000 corrections on Western Europe 1GB 8.15 2024 with Home 2.4... How many with 2.3 ???
So which version do you recommend I should have on my HD for the latest TomTom software and the latest UK & ROI map? Which version numbers for both? Ideally I would love the verison which displays lane assist and reality view equivelant and TTS.
Many thanks!
So for North America, can I purchase a map from Tomtom that would work? Which device should I select when purchasing from their site to get a compatible map?

Home 2.3 has 30-50% more corrections on average, in the weekly updates on Friday

I think the upcoming V815 USA map is not yet available, but will be shortly. In order to purchase it with HD use TT Home 1.5 old version.
@ardsar
Correct, only 1.5 is, but Home is not the only way to get mapshare updates.

Problems installing TomTom 7.450_9030 with Western_and_Central_Europe_720_1803 + Meta

Hello everybody,
I have problems with installing TomTom in the Version above... could somebody be so glad to give me a manual?
Thanks,
Sebastian
The manual is available directly at Tomtom.
Just ask them (do not forget to provide them your serial number ).
you can use TomTom HOME to download and install maps :
you can download a version of TomTom HOME from the tomtom website
HOME 2.5 for Windows For all GO, ONE, XL, RIDER and NAVIGATOR 7 devices
HOME 1.6 for NAVIGATOR 6
Any other ideas? Isn't there any software downloadable to manage it by myself?
Fact of the matter is that tomtom just has not intergrated the HD in there system.
You will just have to wait untill the new home version comes out.

Android system

Hi,
is there an I-Go version (the new release) that can run under the android OS??
in general is it possible in some way to run Windows Mobile Apps / Games under and Android OS?
If not, what is the solution???
Thanks...
I think the answer is no to both. There is no way to run Windows software under Android.
If you are looking for sat nav software, nav4all is free but supposedly a little unstable at the moment, Co-pilot is a pretty good paid-for option.
GPS programs
Are program fro android have maps for all of the world like I-Go??
Copilot covers the US and Europe at the moment:
