Hi does anyone have any tips on speeding up web browsing on the touch hd??
Im experiencing VERRYYY slow webpage loading on opera browser...
I have a 20meg broadband connection and is no quicker at loading pages on 3g or wifi!! My girlfriend has a omnia and webpages load instantly!!!
Is there a better program for web browsing? ive tried i explorer. still the same.
many thanks for any tips or info.
kindly search for f**ks sake. its only the hundreth post about this....
Noticed the same. Omnia seems to be faster renderung the webpage. But HD resolution is higher. Even my diamond is faster.
*Try the cache optimising tweak to improve performance if not already done.
*Type Opera:config into your url then set mininum overview zoom to 85%. This does not speed up Opera but allows you to click on links without zooming so in a sense does speed up your browsing experience.
RE: Slow opera browserArrow
well, maybe because your browser and windows system are not compatible, you'd better change your browser or maybe youcan try the software tuneup360, which can help you solve all the computer problems.

is there any tweaks that can cause your 8125/wizard browse faster on the net, using your home wifi?
Not that I'm aware of, however you can get browsers that run faster then IE. For me, Opera is much faster at web browsing then IE. Just my thoughts!
Check out the XDA-Wiki, WM5 Tweaks. I've been playing around with this and recently found that disabling the browser cache entirely made a big difference in speed. Still not like a desktop, but much better.
Regards,
Alright, thanks.
I'll try out Opera. I have Minimo, and that is quicker than IE, but I will see what opera does for me. :]
New version 0.8.5 of skyfire is released now.. you don't need any registration to download this.. Just go to get.skyfire.com from your PC or from your device. It's very cool browser with support to youtube and other flash objects.. I am attaching a downloaded copy here for quick download.. Enjoy
Someone has already posted it on this forum......
Sorry! tried searching but couldn't locate initially, now got it.. How can I get this post deleted..
Thx... It is better then Opera Mobile?

It doesn't seem to wrap text correctly for me, so it's harder to read things. But if you need quick, desktop-quality browsing, it is better than Opera Mobile.

by the full desktop quality browsing you are correct, but i disagree with the quick browsing. Sure it displays the page faster than opera but the navigation is terrible. Just like using a gps application (googlemaps for example) you dont really have entire the page loaded, just the part you are seeing on your screen, it constantly renders as you scroll and pan making it terrible to quickly pan and scroll through websites expecially forums where you read, pan, read, pan and so on. the constant rendering and reloading makes the page blurry and displays those god awful checkers by not being able to keep up thust slowing you down way more than the slightly slower page loading of opera. At least when opera is done with the page you can read everything in it quickly and easily
Im not bashing skyfire cuz i love it also but that is the main gripe i have with it, that and the unreliable downloads that fail on me 99% of the time

You are true.. It won't load the full webpage and it's realy slow when you scroll and pan.. But only advantage we have is it plays youtube videos and flash. Which is lacking in opera mobile.. But in this version there is no audio.. Some problem.. Looking for a solution..
Downloaded. Will find install it in a little bit.
Does it work Wvga?

this is the main problem I have with it and netfront also. the truth is when it comes to browsing even IE mobile 6 has the upper hand, it might be slower at rendering the page but trust me I have found it's CSS engine better than even opera. I can give the links if anyone wants to check. however, opera has the upper hand when it comes to browsing the page. and opera does support flash videos on certain builds.
this is how I break it down in no order:
aesthetics: opera9
page load speed: skyfire
scroll/pan: opera9
rendering engine quality: IE mobile 6
rendering engine speed: opera9/skyfire
download file reliability: IE mobile 6
flash: skyfire
ease of use: opera9
javascript: IE mobile 6/opera9
therefore opera is the best pick for default browser and everyday use. IE mobile 6 comes in second for quality and reliability. skyfire only has flash and page load speed going for it (1st of which isn't a need, thus they only have speed), netfront couldn't even make it on there.
Ya skyfires really nice for streaming videos but thats about it.
My favorite day to day browser is hands down Opera Mini 4.2. For just basic browsing and skimming forums,etc,etc... its just plain awesome and by far the fastest one iv used
I have the htc hd2.
I browse with the stock opera but i noticed the rendering is awful.
I installed opera mobile 10 and it was worst. Why would opera consider it final
when there is no pinch to zoom and the rendering is the ugliest i have seen?
I tried internet explorer but every site i visit says internet explorer 6 is being phased out blah blah. I have tried to use skyfire but it is SLOW!!!
What do you guys use to browse? anyway to improve rendering on the opera browsers? Anyway to add pinch to zoom on opera mobile 10?
Is like skyfire is the only browser that supports flash and almost every site i visit plays the flash content fine hulu speciually but it is very slow.
Can somebody please help me? help me find hacks that will imrpove my browsing experience?
Unfortunatly Opera 9.7 or w.e version came with the HD2, was specifically made for it, while opera 10 is for every wm phone out there.
My HD2 didn't arrive, but my brother uses the Opera and loves it. Check if you have server side rendering on, which could turn things ugly.
Rendering on the default opera 9.7 is perfectly good for me.
Rendering on Opera 10 is exactly the same as on Opera 9.7. Your network provider is likely to be compressing images so that there's less data usage.
Also, if you open Opera 10, open the menu (wrench icon) and go to settings, advanced and turn on plugins, it will play flash.
Yeah, Opera 9.7 renders images perfectly for me too.
Basically what the title says. I feel like opera should be much faster at loading flash embedded pages, mainly since i saw my friends EVO loading Engadget.com in a test run against my HD2.
*In Opera 10 ive added the plugin feature, and enabled opera turbo, but webpages are still a bit too slow.
Any suggestions guys? Thanks in advance!
(Apologies for posting this if its been answered throughly previously)
Have you looked at this thread about Opera?
...All Opera Mobile
i have been using opera mobile 10 and windows explorer as my main browsers and i was getting between 50- 450kbps at mobilespeedtest.com, but today i downloaded opera mini 5 which is great by the way, and ran the test and came up with 1958kbps & 1978kpbs, is this the actuall speed or is opera mini causing it to spike like that.
last time i run the test using IE on my touch pro2 i got 7+MBps.
opera mini fetches the page on their server then sends to your phone, so the speed u got is actually their sever to mobilespeedtest, not actually your phone to mobilespeedtest
The only browser that gives accurate speed test results is Opera Mobile. This is the only browser for WM that does not compress packets or manipulate data links in any way before sending it to your device. All processing is done on the device end. IE compresses data packets before they get to your device giving fluctuating results. Opera Mini, Uzard, and previously Skyfire all render pages remotely and then pass the rendered page onward to the device.
