[Q] How to enlarge scroll bar in contatc list? - XPERIA X1 General

Due recessed screen is really painful to scroll contact list by letter. How can enlarge the right scroll bar to make it more comfortable? I don't want to install others contact manager

You can set the width of the scrollbars with Advanced Config.

Yeah, but then all the vertical scrollbars grow bigger and the symbols in the program-menu don't fit into three columns anymore.
It would be nice that only the black bar with the letters inside would be twice as wide so that it could be easily pressed with the thumb.

That would be a good CAB. Does anyone want to look through the Kaiser/Raphael forum fro the side A-Z bar?

exactly, advanced config doesn't resolve this annoyance. +1 for your solution but I don't know how

any hint?

Bump*
Just wondered if there is any solution to this?

For me, I goto Contacts-->Right softkey "Menu"-->Options-->Unchecked "Show contact names only". This will make the letter bar a little larger.
If this is you setting already, there are no way as of now to make the letter bar larger, unless you install other contact program...like Resco Contact manger.

i had the same trouble, as an alternative i selected "show alphabetical index" in the contact menu options. this puts the letters along the top in groups instead and a slighter larger scroll bar down the side. i found it much easier than having the tiny letters on the right.
another alternative solution is to use the free spb xperia panel and use the contacts in there. also you can have photo contacts. much more finger friendly

How do I *REMOVE* the "Calendar" & "Conta

Hi all,
I would like to know if this is possible - Removing the "Calendar" & "Contacts" buttons from my Today Screen (you know, the last row...), which will result in the bottom row of the screen to show the shortcut icons (Wireless Manager, Screen Rotation, Battery, etc.)
EDIT" Damn, why is my title truncated?

a similar-ish project, which doesn't hide the soft keys bar, but I'm sure it's possible for the author to add that;

Wisbar Advance Desktop will do this for you, you also have the choice to remove the top bar as well =)

Today Screen and the Scroller

Hey guys,
New to the forum but I've had a search for an answer (not that much of a newbie ) so I thought I'd ask straight out!
I have the Orange version of the Hermes, and noticed that the built in Today menu Orange provides works very nicely with the Scroller (left hand side) to allow you to choose items on the menu.
My problem is that I'm using phoneAlarm and cLauncher. Neither of these react to the scroller. Anyone know of a way to convert the scroller movements into simple up and down commands, as the D-Pad/hard buttons at the bottom allow you to highlight and select items in pA&cL?
If this makes no sense I'll reword it
Thanks in Advance!
[EDIT]
Just for searching purpose, Scroll Wheel might be a better term. There's also Jog Wheel which isn't the same, but similar!
The Scroller behaves just as if you where pressing the Dpad up or down. It does not provide lateral movement (like the SonyEricsson PXXX sieries).
Thus with PhoneAlarm and cLauncher you can just scroll to it (depending on the skin, you should be able to tell when you are on the desired today row or plugin) and then must use the DPad to navigate left or right through the different icons.

I thought that was the case, but when I use phoneAlarm and the D-Pad, I get yellow squares highlighting the buttons, but if I use the Scroller it doesn't do anything. This leads me to believe it's not totally the same

Are there any apps which do the following:

Hey I have a TyTN II and I don't really like using the stylus so I was wondering if there was any app to increase the side page scroll width and the top menu bar size to make it easier to click in the corners and on the sides when scrolling or using task manager?
Also, is there any app to show customizable shortcut icons on the Today screen ?
thanks.
Hmm I'm not quite sure what you're looking for, but if you need touch friendly programs (no stylus) you might want to check here:

well for increasing th scrollbar width... u can use Schap's Advanced Config Tool!!! its under th user interface tree in th program... easily configurable to ur needs

Huge menus...

I now have my HD.
But whenever I click on one of the bottom menus (you know, the one that says 'menu' or something in the bottom left) I get a massive menu.
Two questions: Would SPB Shell sort this out? Or is there another way to tell I I don't want mahoosive menus? (The 'start' menu has been shrunk already!)

You can adjust this to something smaller. HTC has deliberately made it big to be finger friendly, but that results in scrolling for some program with longer list of items on the menu. I think under the tips and tricks thread you can see how to do it.
Cheers.
It also says in the user manual that this is the case and it shows you how to change it.

Are you talking about the start menu or the bottom menu? The start menu text size can be changed as described in page 41. In which page can you find how user could change the bottom menu text size?
The registry key has been mentioned in the Tips and Trick section. Alternatively, you can also change it using SKTools.

TIP - Undock your Keyboard SIP

Thanks to pocketnow.com for this great tip.
If you would like to be able to drag your SIP (Keyboard) around the screen rather than have it docked to the bottom, the following registry edit is for you.
HKEYCURRENTUSER\Control Panel\SIP
Change the value of Dragstyle from 0 to 1 and then soft reset. When you do, you'll find a large bar at the top of your keyboard, which you can grab to drag the thing around. The next time it opens, the keyboard will be back where it started.
Looks like a handy tip for the Wiki
I dont think i ever gonna need this mob but its a good thing to know that this can be done! Thanks for the info
Seems to be bugged in HD :
Black line on top of the keyboard we can drag & move on screen, but the bottom line with ctrl, space, ... disappear.
Yes i tried it and hated it. You could not close the keyboard after coz icons disappear. Back to normal for me.

The problem is that whilst it has a large bar at the top, it cut off the bottom row of numbers and letters! It was a right bastard to fix as I could not gain access to the 0 key to chnage it back.
