Hi.
I'd like to listen with the touch hd to music via an akg inear headphone.
As soon as the headphone is plugged in, there is a noticable and annoying noise. This can also be heard if the music volume is low.
on my previous phone (a nokia n-series) this was also the case, but later remedied with a firmware update.
Do any of you experience the same noise? Maybe i should considered changing the headphones (the are NOT defect!) as they're to sensible to a "bad" headphone jack?
yes, thats my problem too.
i bought the cx300 sennheiser inears and i hear the annoying noise at quiet positions or radio plays.
i will test the headphones with the computer but i think its the phone. very bad.
edit: if i only plugg the headphones in the phone there is the noise, but it disappears after 1-2 seconds. if i play a mp3 file the noise appears, but when i stop the music the noise disappears after 1-2 seconds, too. if i plug the headphones with my x-fi xtreme music, there is the noise too, but very very low... but if i plugg the touch hd with my sound system (teufel concept e magnum) there is no noise (i think the inear sound is cleaner, so the noice is more explicit). any ideas??

Nersta, is the noise you are referring to a sort of "squirk squirk" in the background? i can hear it every time a track starts, even with uncompressed audio files...
hm, no pzucchel, this doesn't happens.
i hear continual hissing, noise, swoosh, rush, i don't know how to call it in english, in germany i would say 'es rauscht die ganze Zeit im Hintergrund ziemlich auffällig wenn ich musik höre'.
my brother has a htc prophet with a rom from gullum and there is this noise too. i've testet the sony earphones from my brother and here i hear this noise too.
I hear the hiss too with my CX300 in-ears. I think all HDs have it. I had the same thing with my iphone, but it was much less noticeable. I don't think there's any solution at the moment. HTC may provide a firmware fix in the future? Not sure...
i've contacted the customer service from htc and they send the following answer:
to make a long story short, they say that only the headphones from htc are compatible to our device. are they kidding?? then why the htc touch hd has a 3.5 mm jack?
but i wonder that for many users the hiss is not so annoying.

Well i use my Technic DJ headphones on the HD and they haven't got a problem.
Probably you guys are using low quality stuff, i dunno.
i dont think so. sony maybe, but the sennheiser headphones are really great. i think you will hear this hissing only if you use inear headphones
Ok just tried my in-ear headphones supplied with my Samsung K5 and first thing i noticed was how much better sounding they were. I did hear like a millisecond of crackling when pressing play but other than that, there was no hissing or whatever. It played it very good.
Hissing is definitely there on my HD. It's not terrible but certainly noticeable when quiet tracks are playing. Just been comparing the sound from my HD and iPod nano and the HD produces a lot more hiss.
Also just tried a bass test track. It goes from 5-100-5Hz. On the HD there's a strange whistling noise in the background when playing it which isn't there on the nano or PC.
yeah, i can definitely hear hissing / noise when the audio files are playing. this only happens in earphone with high sensitivity and low impedance (ie. those good earphones). this is caused by some sort of hardware defect.
i migrated to WinMo from palmOS half a year ago. this same hissing problem happens in Palm devices. However, the hissing/noise can be reduced, if not eliminated by installing fixes that reduce the overall hardware sound volume. the official fix for european devices to lower the system volume(in compliance to some sort of legislation regarding hearing damage) attenuated the hissing. then a developer made a nifty little app(see PowerVolume at http://www.palmpowerups.com/downloads.php?cat_id=2) to provide users to control the system volume, which i used to completely eliminate the hissing from my Palm TX.
if the hissing is caused by the same kind of hardware problem, perhaps developers could come up with a similar app to reduce hissing in Touch HD? that would really be great.
Got a Denon amp connected to the PC digitally and hear no hissing when listening to things through my headphones. As soon as I connect them to the HD I can hear hissing. It's not terrible, like I said before, and not noticeable unless listening to a quiet part of a song. Just a bit annoying sometimes.

I get a hissing noise whether on headphones or on the hero's speaker when playing any audio. It starts just before the audio/music starts and continues for about 4/5 seconds after the audio/music is stopped.
I was using froydvillian 1.7.2 and now cronos 0.0.9, I think the hissing noise was worse on froydvillain.
Is this related to the rom? or does the hero just have a really ****ty dac?
If you want to try and replicate this, put on headphones, play some music and press pause and you should be able to hear the 4/5 second hiss
Does anyone else have the same problem?
I get this - not sure if it's the phone on the way out :,)
ehi everyone!
i just used for the first time my optimus 7 to hear some music with my headphones and i listen a strange noise under the music... it's not heavy but it disturb me.
i tried with other headphnes and the problem is still here...
any suggestion???
I've got the same problem... it's annoying
Yeah the audio out of the Opt7 is not great:
-Constant background noise (audible when pausing before the output is shut off)
-Sometimes audible Beep-Beep-Beep-GSM-noises when on a GPRS connection (not on 3G,H)
Well, as long as I'm on a 3G connection and volume>2 it is OK but the signal quality of say my PSP is much better...
When I turn off Data, it seems to remedy the noise, but yes, it is defintely there, a hiss, (although not noticable with low quality (>$50) headphones. Put on a pair of shure SE425 and you can clearly hear it...
I have crackin and hissing noises wenn i play songs with Poweramp but only when the screen is off when the screen is on the is no problem the noises starting after 10 minutes when poweramp plays music and the screen is off. with apolo and other player thers no problem i tried other roms and theres no problem to. Anyone have a fix?

Hello how are you ..
I want two speaker to work when I'm watching movies ....
Loudspeaker bottom and head of the earpiece in the Top
So I got a stereo and surround ..
Plz..how
1. The ear speaker is not loud enough.
2. both together are impossible
3. Surround sound need min. 5 speakers
Buy a Bluetooth speaker or use your headset or buy a second note 3 and use GROUPPLAY. then you can connect both together and you have Stereo and a big dual screen
