ehi everyone!
i just used for the first time my optimus 7 to hear some music with my headphones and i listen a strange noise under the music... it's not heavy but it disturb me.
i tried with other headphnes and the problem is still here...
any suggestion???
I've got the same problem... it's annoying
Yeah the audio out of the Opt7 is not great:
-Constant background noise (audible when pausing before the output is shut off)
-Sometimes audible Beep-Beep-Beep-GSM-noises when on a GPRS connection (not on 3G,H)
Well, as long as I'm on a 3G connection and volume>2 it is OK but the signal quality of say my PSP is much better...
When I turn off Data, it seems to remedy the noise, but yes, it is defintely there, a hiss, (although not noticable with low quality (>$50) headphones. Put on a pair of shure SE425 and you can clearly hear it...

hi,
I noticed i always have a bit of noise behind music. At silent parts you really hear that there's static-like noise in the background. Tested with various tracks, always 320kb/s quality. You can hear it over the integrated speaker too, so it's not my headphones.
Anybody else notice this? Is that "normal" for the Omnia 7 or did I get a bad unit?
I think thats normal for all device? need a second opinion, could be wrong. Usually the noise stops when nothing is being played though.
Can't hear any static myself ? Just played a few 320kb Deadmau5 tracks, On some closed cup headphones, and out the rear speaker, Sounds perfect out the headphones, But isn't exactly studio quaility out the speaker phone and never will be the size it.
I only never notice it if i'm listening late at night when everything else is silent. Otherwise its not a problem. Call me an old fart too, but i complain about all devices these days that they dont go quiet enough! Volume level 1 is too loud lol!
havent noticed any sounds other than the music but i have noticed that most tracks skip at the end of the track. Anyone else noticed this?

Must agree on te vol 1 setting, it's almost my old 3310 loud setting lol
i will do some more testing, is there a track you could suggest that you have heard this most ? and at what volume.
Not had any trouble with the tracks skipping ether. thought it did a good job of blending together tbh.
I've found that when playing video files, quiet moments tend to just be muted.
For example in a film if the scene is busy and noisy it's fine but then if it were to cut to a scene where two people are quietly talking i get no sound. It's almost like it's noise cancelling.
If i turn the volume up there is no problem.
So I've got my surround for 1 week, and I notice an issue when I am using my headphone. If my wifi is on and I connect my headphone to the device, I hear a
fire cracker sound if I'm not playing any music or videos. It is not obvious which you can only notice it while you are in a really quiet place. So my question is, is it the problem with the surround or the window phone 7. The thing is that if I played music under wifi is on, the fire cracker disappears. Or if I turned the wifi off, it disappears. Has anyone has this cracker sound issue with wifi on? It seems like the antenna has affects the audio jacks or something. But if that is so, why the sound disappear while I'm listen to music??
Normally, when you plug headphones into anything, some noise is produced, just the metal rubbing on metal or w/e, (I'm sure the electrical engineers can explain it to the electrons), but this is a noise I've heard on many devices throughout my electronic experience. I've never seen it as a problem. It seems normal on my Surround, and I tried with WiFi on, off, connected, unconnected, music on, music off, and any other combo I could think of. All of the noises were the same, none louder than the others.
I'm not sure if that is helpful to you, but mine did not change at all.
I understand that. It's just I have never experience a cracker sound like this noticeable. So when u compare the noise to other devices, is it the same?
It sounds like nothing out of the ordinary to me, but you may want some more opinions.
Does anyone hear background noise when using headphones/ear buds? I'm using klipsch S4 ear buds and can hear electronic background noise especially when viewing a web video (where it's constant). If I watch a movie with moboplayer, there is far less noise to the point you probably don't notice it unless you really listen for it. So that part is good, but you tube videos seem to be the worst and the noise is definitely a hardware feedback type that you typically hear when something isn't shielded well.
Thoughts?

YouTube compresses audio pretty aggressively, especially below 720p, so that could be a large part of it. Try downloading a FLAC or other uncompressed audio file and playing it back and see if there is still background noise.
I tend to hear background noise if the wifi is currently transferring data, so it happens with Youtube (it's compression artifacts - you can hear it while paused) or DLNA streaming. Once the Wifi transfer stops, the background noise disappears. So, it does sound like bad filtering to me as well.

Wifi related noise sounds plausible to me. Thanks!
Rob
I hear noise with my wired headphones often. Funny thing is that when I reboot, the noise disappears, even when doing/using the same apps I was using before the reboot.
I've heard a similar noise ever since the time I bought my Xoom. It only occurs when I'm using a wired headset (I tried a couple and it still persists), but it stopped with the 3.2 update.
The weirdest think was that it actually made my music sound better.
I use JVC marshmallow headphones & I never hear any other sounds but crystal clear music or whatever.

Having the xoom plugged in causes a lot of static

Hi - just wondering if anyone else noticed some background noise / distortion when using headphones on the tab 7.7.
Happens when playing any sound and continues for 2-3 seconds after it stops. Tested with the stock buds and some replacement buds I picked up a few days ago. With my over the ear headphones I can't hear it though. Easiest way to test is just by playing a movie and pausing it.... there is a hissing noise for a few seconds afterwards.
Maybe related: even with headphones plugged in, notification sounds come out of the speakers - this is my first Android device so I'm not sure if that's normal or not.
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if it might be hardware related. Thanks!

Yeah I get that too. Doesn't really bother me though. I mean, it's not like I can still hear it while playing music or anything...
Mine's pretty noticable, even when playing music/videos. Weird that it's totally quiet with my over-the-ear headphones

Personally, I only really notice it if there's a trailing silence from music or videos, but while there's actually sound, I can't detect it.
Hello..lately i'm posting a lot here on xda xD
When i plug in my headphones, sometimes i hear a low noise when I touch the display..this noise i hear only in the left headphone
I tried another pair of headphones and i don't hear this noise, but when i connect speakers from pc and turn them at maximum volume there is present the noise but very very very low... just on my original pair of heaphones is a little more loud
And another thing about this noise, when the phone is playing some sounds(like playing a game, or watching a video) this noise disappears or probably i just can't hear it :-??
Is somebody else who have this problem?
