When I tried to run the CID Action on my phone I got this:
Error! No device detected!
Try reading again; if it fails again then check cable
connection and be sure that ActiveSync's icon is
green.
Be sure to enable RAPI communications and
Applications Policy!!
I made sure that the phone was connected and then I tried to make sure RAPI communication and Applications policy was enabled. I got the same connection failure error. I don't know what to do to correct this error.
Does the phone establish connection or activesync through usb ? if it does, than, there are two files in the installation folder of WST_4.2.2 in the 'files' folder 'EnableRapi' and 'Cert_SPCS' copy these both zipfolders anywhere in your phone and execute them in the phone, then run the WST Tool.

Yes, the phone does establish connection throught activesync. I did install both files, EnableRapi and Cert_SPCS, and excuted them the phone. WST still gave me the same error.
which windows are you using and what version is Activesync ?.
'MFC' (Microsoft Foundation Classes) failure is usually ,when certain application/program fails to initialize.
Do this all on winXP SP2 and use latest version of Activesync 4.5.Close/disable any Antivirus/Firewall running and try to end as many applications/programs running in the background through 'Windows Task Manager'.End Process 'WCESCOM' something running in the Task Manager.

Since installing the Tmobile ROM, I have been unable to load new programs or get my device to synch at all. I get a connection error each time:
ERROR 011: EXECUTE REMOTE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM ERROR
Cannot execute the remote communication program.
Please make sure that the USB/Serial cable is properly connected.
I don't have an SD card (yet), but I was trying to load a kitchen ROM, then tried installing phonext to see if I could get anything on there.
The T-Mobile ROMs have problems talking through ActiveSync. I have personally observed only that you can no longer use 'Programme A' to go to a new ROM, and that you need to use the bootloader/SD-card method instead, but maybe I've missed other things...
(Hmmmm, maybe they turned this silly admin policy thing on...)
Well, what would cause it to not want to synch or even install new programs?
As of today I can get it to synch with Outlook, however still no go on the rest. I will try the bootloader method tommorow at work.
Have you tried a complete reinstall of the latest release of activesync.
Hi I am trying to flash a rom made in the kitchen as a .exe file from the pc and get the error “cannot execute the remote communication program.” I have checked the usb and it seams to be working fine.
I am also cannot explore the devise using the pc through either activesync or my computer the window appears blank. Pleas help
Ian
this means your bootloader version has a protection mechanism ... maybe it's 5.22. anyway, this means you can only use the SD card flashing method.
If i want to upgrade my wallaby i get an error message in the communications procedure. I have downloaded my ROM from lumpy's kitchen and ive tried to upgrade it many times right now.
Can anyone give me an advise how i could hardflash the ROM of my device?
I think you get an communication error when trying to flash via ActiveSync.
You have to flash via bootloader....

Here you get furthe rinformation about how to do it....

Nothing yet
Ive tried to Bootload te rom, but after the message "connect your USB now" the device does not react anymore.
I have tried to run the application rom but this says that active sync does not recognize a device.
What should i do next?
Thanks for the quick respond!!
Even if i make a bacup to SD this doesnt work. There no explaination how to hard flash the device! Can you give me an advise???
What have you done exatcly, and where is the problem?
It's not really clear for me.
For Flashing via SD-Card there is no USB connection necessary....
STefan
I have tried to flash with the bootloader. When i push on the on/off putton and do soft reset i see the question "connect to USB now". If i connect and i start the rom nothing happens.
Afterwards i have tried to put the rom on my SD card. I have tried to do this OSimagetools. The pc does recognize the SD card in my wallaby. I also dont have a cardreader.
Is there a way to flash my wallaby in the bootloader-mode with the USB connection?
What do i have to do for it?
Thanks
Strange.
You should see device displays a background that consists of four equally sized vertical bars, colored (from top to bottom) white, red, green and blue. On top of this, it says:
WALLABY
Bootloader
V5.14
WAIT
After a few seconds, the WAIT is replaced by GSM OK. Both messages are in the blue bar, but have a white background.
What do you get?
What is labeld on your rear sticker of the device? (modell) ?
Stefan
Its model: PW10A1
SN: HT220cc15300
PN: 99HJ00007-00
Step 1)I have seen the horizontal bars. And its version 5.18. Ive also seen the "GSM OK"- notification.
Step1a)If i connect it afterwards to my USB nothing happens. The computer does not recognize the Wallaby.
Step2) If i hold the On/Off button i get the message "Connect to USB now" If i do this, activesync does recognize my device and i cannot install the ROM.
Step3) after step 1 i press the contacts button and i see 6 ways to backup my rom or GSM. I have backedup my GSM and ROM to SD. But this has no use for me.
Greetz,
Ok. Now I see.....
First of all, you have an totaly unknown Bootloader (5.18) to me, so i hope all steps will work....
You require a SD-Card with >= 64 MB
XDATools ftp://[email protected]/Wallaby/Tools/XDATools.zip
Your downloaded ROM from my kitchen
step1) Boot your XDA up normal and connect via active sync (guest partnership is ok)
step2) Copy all your data of your sd-Card to your local PC otherwise all data on it will be gone
step3) Enter bootloader of your device by pressing On/Off and doing a softreset
step4) After the Message GSM OK press the Contact Button of your device
step5) Navigate with the pad to "CE+BOOT TO SD"
step6) Confirm this with the Action Key (Press the middle of the Navigate-Pad)
step7) After finishing enter again bootloader by holding On/Off and doing a soft reset
step8) Bootloader should tell you something tah OS is detected on your SD-Card
If No -> Problem
If Yes -> continue
step9) Boot your XDA up normal and connect via active sync (guest partnership is ok)
step10) Install XDATools on your PC
step11) in a dos -box (cmd) go to the directoy where osimagetool is located
step12) enter command: "osimagetool -r xdasdslot -w original.nbf"
step13) enter command: "osimagetool --register"
step14) extract the downloaded ROM using winzip
step15) Run osimagetool
step16) Select the nbf-file in the english-folder of the extracted lROM as source and XDASlot as destination
step17) After finishing enter again bootloader by holding On/Off and doing a soft reset
step18) Bootloader should tell you something tah OS is detected on your SD-Card
step19) Press Action Key to install the ROM
step20) After finishing do a hard reset
step21) Now your ROM should be installed on your device.
step22) Locate the created file original.nbf and compress it using winzip
step23) Upload the compressed file to ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Wallaby/Uploads
step24) Enjoy your new ROM
That should be alll .....

Thanks, But when i extract the rom to a folder, OS Imagetools cannot find the nbf-file. There is no nbf-file in the extracter-rom-folder. I can only find an nb-file.
There is a file called "NK" which says that its an NBF-file(properties). The file is 32MB large. I have tried to select this file (step 16), but the file is not being recognized. Even if i change the extension of the filename. The OSimage does not support this file.
I Have tried this with 3 ROM's : 2003 SE, 2003 and 2002 neither of them contain the nbf-file in the english folder.
Do you have an advice? I think i am very close right now!!
Thanks,
I have sucseeded to install 2002, but 2003 SE wont be recognized. It says its an usupported file.
Has this anyting to do with the fact that i renamed the file? If so can you tell me how to change the file back??
I have downgraded my wallaby to PPC 2002 right now.
Thanks Lumpi!!
WM2003SE couls only be installed via Exe-File. It can not be flashed with the osimagetool.

I got yestrday my new T-Mobile MDA vario, its looked & i wanted to unlock it. I tried using the LOKIWIZ02B and used the U option (unlocking),but all time i got the following message:
"copying H:\vario\lockiwiz02\Utils\itsutils.dll to WCE:\Windows\itsutils.dll
Could not update itsutils.dll to the current version, maybe it is inuse?
try restarting your device, or restart activesync
your phone is unlocked...."
But the phone was not unlocked, tried several times, but the same message is back and the phone is still locked.
My MDA vario information is as follows:
IPL 1.06
SPL 1.06
GSM 01.12.10
OS 1.5.4.2
Plase give me a good advise or a solution to unlock it.
OS
Have you copied the .cab file to the phone first ?
if(yes){
Try this : make a backup of the WCE:\Windows\itsutils.dll file. Delete it
and make a new test. If you can't delete it because it is inuse try installing
a kill process tool, kill all processes and delete again
}
The phone was UNLOCKED, I copyed the CAB file to the phone but forgot to execute it, i did it again by the instructions and it works just as expected and the phone is now unlocked - thank You.
Ok, now the instructions...
1 - Unzip lokiwiz.zip to somewhere in your computer
2 - Copy EnableRapi.cab to your Wizard
3 - Execute the EnableRapi.cab in your phone. Wait for it to finish
4 - Guarantee that your phone is connected via ActiveSync with the computer
5 - Execute lokiwiz.bat (on your computer! My inbox is filled with this kind of error) and follow the instructions on your screen...

what is suppost to happen ones you hit the U [for unlock] in the DOS box?
On my end nothing happens, the box just dissapears... mine is stil locked...
hi i am trying to upgrade my Typhoon to 6.1 but i haver got to the point in the upgrading process in which i need to restart and press 0 for the IU the only issue is i do not recive this message and i cannot get any further.
Edit: my SPL is 2.05.0130
you must go to the patched SPL 1.09 for Typhoon befor you go any further.
yes it is true said tobbie, with 1.09 SPL you can flash any rom like WM6.1 or WM6.5 on your Typhoon
for SPL 1:09 Can you get HERE
oh well ive tried poatching the spl before but i just recive errorr 260 or 240 and i cannont make no progress i have tried using a different computer but to no avail
oh well... if the device is still original, then you must follow a sequence of actions to allow such upgrade.
These should be mentioned in any custom rom thread. Essentially you must get the SPL 1.09 on the device then you can load any custom ROM.
1. application unlock the old OS
2. CID unlock the device with lokiwiz toolset
3. load SPL 1.09
4. load custom ROM
good luck!
I belive i have already application unlocked and supercided it with lokiwiz toolset but i have peforemd a hard reset due to that connection issue, would that haver affected it in anyway? thanks
If you are back the old WM2k3 and you cannot upgrade the SPL, then lokiwiz probably has not super-CID your device. To check, connect your device in Bootloader mode to mtty (with AS having USB disabled) and enter "info 1" (no quotes) then try "info 2" (no quotes) and report both results.
Not sure about above myself as I have no device at hand today to check right now.
Hard reset does not affect the CID or SIM Unlock - these are stored in the encrpyted area of the ROM (64kb Block) that is not affected by Hard-Rest or OS-flashing.
sorry for my noobiness but it will not show in mtty i have tried the usb drivers? but the phone does not show in mtty
You must make sure that Active Sync (Windows XP) or Mobile Device Center is not using the USB port to connect the device. You can disable the use in Active Sync selecting the "Connections" menu and then disabling there.
Reconnect the device and restart mtty. The USB button will be there only if the USB connection is accessible and the device is connected to the USB port.
sorry for the bump but ive came back to my phone and i am having so my trouble superCIDin the phone i have done everything by the book, ive hard reset the phone and tried everything again and now SDA unclokder says "phone is not unlockable" and the lokiwiz.bat will not super cid it.
Look at mediafire in my kitchen folder here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?3tt15dyp4mbuu
the "...one time per device" ZIP has all tools inside. There is another (on board application unlock) that will do the trick. It installs a tool on the device, execute it there first and then start SDA Unlock. No need to reboot as the changed security policies are active immediately.
i downloaded your kitchen and i ran the htcunlock the the sda unlocker still says the phone is unlockable
So these Orange devices are quite resistant to application unlock. Did you notice that the HTC Unlocker kind of "remote controls" a registry editor? It may be that the changes did not really go through.
It is quite complicated and a lot of trial and error what you will have to do and I cannot advise in detail as I have no such device.
Key is that the application that changes the policy on the device is permitted to do so. Usually as well SDA Unlocker (remotely via the RAPI Policy) or the signed Registry editor controlled via HTC Unlocker can do that. It all goes to the registry keys in HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies where the relevant policy IDs have to assigned the right values (role permissions). You can use the free CE-Command (from ghisler.com) which has a registry tool built in or the same registry editor that HTC Unlcok controls to check if the values that the tools try to write are really written or not. I suspect they are simply NOT written. If you cannot find a tool that can change the policy, then there is another way around this:
The Gold Card method. Get the trial version of "revskills" from www.revskills.com and create a gold card with the device for the "Typhoon". With this card in the device, the SPL will allow ANY (also non Orange) signed ROM to be loaded. Use any non Orange shipped ROM for the Typhoon and load it to the device. This OS should allow to change the application lock and also allow the further steps.
Mind that ROMs for the Feeler or Amadeus have different key-handling (especially for the joystick) - so best you get also a Typhoon ROM for that exercise.
I think in the Tornado Forum was once a description how to unlock a Cingular 2125, possibly similar actions may allow you the first step. Not sure here though.
thanks for your help i beelive that your tool changes the registrey values correctly im nnot sure about this i have tried running it a few times but with the same results
Just to reassure that: Your device is not CID unlocked yet after all the trials you did? What does the SPL tell when you enter "info 2" in mtty connected?
Do you know how to work with a PC registry editor and to connect with the device? There are several that can do that, e.g. "Registry Workshop" or "Smartione" or "CE Regeditor". All these can connect to the device via Active Sync and read out the HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies branch.
Could you just post the export of that branch here?
You can also do that on board the device with CECmd, get into virtual two window mode, on one side go to the branch above (exactly, on top of the second "\Policies"), on the other in any file-directory, can also be root. Then on the registry side press "5" for copy and confirm to copy the "\Policies" branch to the other side. You get a text file called "policies.reg" - attach or post it here.
Finally you could search for the Microsoft tool "security configuration manager". This allows to select the security model "Security off" - once applied to the device the lokiwiz should run with success.
