Permanently Disable Data Connection? - HTC Typhoon

My AT&T plan for my SMT5600 has free picture and video sending, but no data plan. My first question is, does MMS use a data connection such as GPRS? If it doesn't, how can I disable the GPRS so I don't accidently connect? If MMS does use a GPRS connection, how can I disable GPRS for IE Pocket but keep it enabled for MMS? Short and sweet, I don't want any data charges on my bill. Thanks!

Making sure to NOT use Data for internet.

Is there a way to make sure I do not use Cingular Data Service for any internet?
I have it all set to my Wifi only, but when i turn WIFI off and try the net, It still loads pages! I hope i am not using data? I do not have a data plan, yet.
Any thoughts?
How do i completley disable gprs?
Not wishing to be funny.....but are you sure that it's not loading the page from cache?
delete the gprs data setting in connections.

Agile Messenger Quick Question

If i connect to agile messenger via WIfi, and i send/recieve IM's....will they count as text messages (as far as my bill is concerned)
If you're connected through WIFI, your service provider (Cingular) will never even know you're connected, as it's a totally separate type of service/connection... so simply put, no.
As far as I know, Agile Messenger does not use text messages for communication. It uses your internet connection on your data plan to send/receive IMs. All Cingular sees is internet data traffic, not text messages. I use Agile all the time with my MediaNet Unlimited plan. Works like a charm.
can someone tell me how to disable GPRS/edge on my 8125 please?!

Block Data Network, Wifi Only?

Hey guys, I have the ATT 8525 with no data plan. I would like to know if there is a way to block my phone from accessing the ATT data network. If I want to use the internet and so forth I will do it over wifi, I just want to make sure my phone won't access the ATT data network by accident.
Thanks!
Just call Customer Service and tell them you want to request WIX Blocked.
I believe MoDaCo's NoData will do the trick..
Shuts down the data connection but wifi is still available. Made for people going overseas and such without an international data plan.
I'll post it here when I find it...
edit: attached!!
Thanks buddy.. I was also looking for something similiar.
I have a question for you!!
My problem was almost the same. I have my MMS settings and when I activate that in the Connections tab as the connection to connect to the internet inorder to receive or send MMS, then if I try to access my inbox it checks through the data connection eventhough my WiFi is active...
So will the cab file that was posted here blocks the MMS?
Thanks
Jish
yes it stops your phone from acessing any grps or edge networks. i personally just removed the grps account settngs
Unless your provider has some redirect to email feature or whatever, MMS can't be transferred via internet. They need a direct connection to the provider's servers.

Normal browsing. Is it normal it's dialing #777?

Hi, I got a Titan and when opening the IE, it establishes a connection through dialling #777.
The "data Connection" is activated at this point.
I do not want to use my phone as an external modem, just want to browse.
My carrier is bell canada/mobility and I know they got 2 plans: Data plans (and not sure but I think it's for phone as modem) and browsing plan at 7$ unlimited.
I managed to activate the unlimited browsing option but the #777 is dialling and therefore, it's in data plan mode.
So is there a way to browse without dialling #777?
Thank you

That's how the phone connects to the network, it's not using it as an external modem AFAIK. My phone does that also.

Modaco Nodata settings?

So i just installed Nodata and im wondering which ones i disable so that i will not get charged for data. There are four options Cingular GPRS, CSD Cingular, My ISP CSD, and My ISP GPRS. I know for sure to disable Cingular GPRS but do i need to disable any of the other ones?
all works
I just use them all and it works fine. The only way I want to access the web is through wi-fi because it is free on my home router or wherever I can connect. I don't want to be hostage to my cell phone provider's media package rates. Modaco did a great job making this little app for us!
