two questions one on Activesync and the other on GPRS

i know it's very easy question but i can't find option to disconnect the PDA from activesync except pulling out the USB. any other way?
and if no, doesn't harm the connection in the long run by disconnecting through cable.
my second question is: when i click on top bar trying to connect to the GPRS it tell me to set up new connection from setting,
eventhough i have already seup the GPRS connection but it doesn't show up there!!!
any help is appreciated
thanks
It doesn't harm the connection by pulling out the USB cable (either from the device end or the PC end) but if you want to stop ActiveSync then:
Right click on the icon and select "Connection Settings" or go to the "File" menu and select "Connection Settings".
Untick the "Allow USB Connection..."
You will need to tick this again later once you want to restart ActiveSync over USB.

For the ActiveSync problem :
[IN PC]Start WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center)
Move your mouse to "Mobile Device Settings"
Click "Connection Settings"
Check "Allow USB connections"
Check "Allow automatic device authentication"
Check "Allow data connection on device when connected to PC.
OK
[IN HERMES]
Try enabling or disabling "Advanced network functionality"(Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC), don't forget to tap OK, to apply the new setting.
NOTE : Do that when the Hermes NOT connected to the PC!
For bluetooth problem :
Make sure your PC is in "discoverable mode"
I hope I can help you, thanks..

Patrick: I wonder how these options could have become disabled on a clean WMDC install?
thc2010: You say your phone is not being recognized over USB. Have you installed WMDC manually?
BTW Bluetooth connectivity has nothing to do with WMDC, inability to send files from PC to phone is most likely related to Bluetooth security settings (try to enable phone discovery via Bluetooth - but make sure to disable it when you're done with transferring files!)

USB connection popup

Hi,
When I connect usb to my phone, I used always to get a popup asking what type of connection I want to use.
Just yesterday, after I have chosen internet sharing, I dont get that popup anymore, I keep getting internet sharing automatically and no popup!!
How do I get the popup back?
I went to Settings -> Connections -> USB to computer
and checked Ask about connection type. But it doesn't seem to ask anymore no matter what I do? How do I fix that please :-(
RESOLVED!
It is resolved! in a wired way.
I haven't been asking for connection type at all but after creating a connection in "Internet Sharing" and then disconnect again. Unplugged the usb and plugged it again. The popup just showed as it used to be!!
Seems like it was stuck somewhere with internet sharing!

[Q] Unable to browse the internet using Local USB connection

Hi All,
My Omnia II is now connected to my laptop using the USB cable (Activesync enabled) and i can send and receive email, i also use nodata.cab to disable data while I'm not on Wifi connection / USB connection.
the question is that, how can i browse the internet and get my widget updated using the internet through my local USB connection which is now connected to my LAN ?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
You simply enable this option in the connection settings of ActiveSync/WMDC in your PC.
Mobile Device settings > connection settings > check "Allow data connections on device when connected to PC."
good luck
