I have a vga device. axim x51v.
I downloaded the htc audio manager from the extracted OEM apps. it did not work on my axim. it gave an error message about missing components or certificates.
after much searching I found a cab that worked on my axim (this cab possibly had certain components or ran on all devices, not just HTC ones). But when I installed this audio manager it only took up 1/4 of the screen, like a qvga program. so I tried to use "forcehires" to make it fill up the screen. however "forcehires" gave a message saying that audio manager is already high resolution aware.
I am not using any vga hacks, btw. I am however running wm6, which is not the problem as the situation was the exact same in wm5.
Sooo, can someone with a vga device upload their audio manager. the specific files are as follows:
/windows/audiomanager.exe
/windows/audiomanager.exe.0409.mui
I would be so grateful somebody could upload them.
(bit of a long post, but I wanted to nail it down)
come on guys. it can't be that hard to upload a file or two.
I really like the simplicity of audio manager.
Hi legoman,
Also I've a axim x51v running WM6, but I have not had success to get work any HTC app. Where do you find this audio manager cab? Have you had success to get work HTC Home pluging? Thanks in adv.

try this cab file. it runs but, only shows up on 1/4 of the screen.
hate to do this guys but;
BUMP.
can anyone post the above two files from their device. its a desperate plea.

For all of you that have an X1, Congratulations.
The purpose of this thread is simple, I want to know if any of you have the above programs and if they work on the Xperia X1.
Please don't ask me for the program, I don't have them.
However, I heard all of these apps are very good and would like to know if they work at the 800x480 resolution.
Thanks
Garmin Xt works great on the xperia =)

Flash Lite 3.1 works with Opera, got Flash from one of the pages on xda-developers.
I seem to be unable to install Slingplayer Mobile on my Xperia, is there any fix needed in order to be successful? The version I'm trying with is the
SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Smartphone 1.6 (US English) available at Sling.
PocketPC version

Flash lite working with opera? Tried all versions to be found here on xda to no success..
Slingplayer loads for me, but does not seem to connect for me? Odd.. anybody else get it working? Only the pocket pc version will install.
I think I remember this issue on my last Windows Mobile device. You have to use isp.cingular instead of wap.cingular (which is the default configuration). isp.cingular isn't working for me on my data plan, but hopefully this fixed the issue. what is everyone else using?
wap.cingular or isp.cingular???

Once I realised it was the pocket pc version it installed quite easily, but I also had trouble connecting (I assume you have entered the Slingbox Finder ID along with password in the setup on the Xperia), until I changed the connection settings and unchecked the proxysetting from my operator (Telia, Sweden). I don't now the exact translation of the box but I think it is [This network connects to the Internet by a proxyserver], once this is unchecked it started to work for me, the only downside is that the software only supports resolution up to 640x480, which becomes quite a small window on a 800x480 screen. News from Slingbox is that the new software coming soon, might support higher resolutions, but until then is there any way to change the screen settings to a lower resolution to get full screen?
It's old this topic. But I have to pick it up
I got LogMeIn on my X1, connected via IE perfectly, I can see my computer, can do file management. But each time I choose remote destop, it gives me a blank screen. Nothing seem be running. It's just all blank.
What's wrong with this? Any ideas?

Hi all,
is anybody here using Linux on his desktop like I do? I have Kubuntu 8.10 and wonder if it is possible to access the storage card of my Touch HD via USB. Unfortunately HTC did not include any adapters for MicroSD-card and with my Wizard I only used MiniSD ... Would be cool to at least have read & write access to the Touch HD storage card from my Linux PC.
Cheers,
Eriol

Add: When I plug the Touch HD on a Windows XP Desktop PC, on the Touch HD a window appears where I can select Active Sync or "hard disk" mode. This window does not appear when Linux is running one the desktop. Has anyone tried WM5torage on the Touch HD? I have heard that this app has problems with WM6.1 on Touch devices from HTC???
Hi,
I use Linux Mint (is Ubuntu with some additional program/feature) and when I plug in the USB cable I can see the msg: Activesync or HDD mode. And I didn't installed any program to support the PDAs. Once I select the HDD mode I can read/write to my micro-sd card without problem (even if the max write speed is about 3,5MB/sec....not so much). BTW I have the HTC HD TIM ITA branded, with Sandisk 8GB micro-sd.
Sorry for my english
no problem
I use linux and the hd works like a external disk when I plug it in.
Im on Intrepid Ibex here 8.10
I have the latest synce stuff installed and can browse the entire filesystem on my X1, install cabs and check the system information
Use synce-trayicon it's amazing!
If you choose that in Synaptic it should automatically add the dependencies but if not then I use synce-gvfs, synce-hal synce-sync-engine plus most of the synce relevant libs.
Oh yes, I've also got mymobiler running under wine, that's a bit slow but works as well!

Hi fards: That sounds interesting to me. I tried synce a year ago but didn't get it running with my HTC Wizard. As we are using (nearly) the same OS, do you know of a How-to? What programs have you installed for this?
Hi vivus: I tried it once yesterday; I plugged in my Touch HD and the control lamp showed that the battery was charging, but otherwise nothing happened, the Touch HD wouldn'd give me such option and Linux did not recognize Touch HD ... BTW, your English is excellent and I assume that most of us here aren't native speakers ...

I second Synce, I run Xubuntu and it works here with Evolution installed.

As I said, try installing synce-trayicon it should automatically pick up synce-sync-engine.
I've not seen a tutorial that is upto date but the one on the synce wiki will get you up and running (although the latest builds of synce on ubuntu seem to work very well)
*edit* I've just re-read the latest wiki on hardy and it seems irrelevant, mine seems to work out of the box with the latest synce builds, I do have the ppa launchpad as a repo but only have one file from there
I'm using it over HAL rather then vdccm or odccm (synce-trayicon gives you the option to change which to use).
using synce-gvfs you can use synce:// in nautilus (or browse this device using trayicon) to view the entire filesystem in wm6

I am always suspicious of htc diamond ROM that system missing some useful dll library. There is a application that works well in HTC P3600. and this application included a dll that be shelled by UPX tool. when the application is migrated to Diamond, it reported " is not a valid pocket pc application". but
it did not tell me why. i was annoyed by this question.
the same case , I have a streaming appication using ffmpeg. it works well in HTC P3600 as well. but it failed in Diamond and report the same error.Oh my god. Who can help me? I have a commerical application came across the same question and there is a wap library without source code. and Diamond
did not recognize it. Faint!!
I asked this elsewhere, but this is a better place to post i think.
Is it possible to have Windows Mobile 6.0 run on the HTC Touch HD? If so, what ROM would I need? I want an English version. I need to run some software on it which doesnt work with WM6.1 and WM6.5
roms have to be 100% custom made with just the correct drivers for it to work on a device
it would be a first if a rom cooker spend too much time cooking an older version then what came with the device be it wm6 or wm5 for that matter
so would not hold my breath
Shame, we needed to get ~80 of these downgraded to WM6.0 for the software to work. I wonder if Orange would accept 80 returned phones
Have sw compatibility problems? I used on WM6.1 all programs from WM5 w/o problems ^^
80 Devices? You could PM directly a cooker and ask him about your problem: you could find a solution

80!?! Holy crap?? What are those 80 HDs used for??
It could be possible but you would need to find WVGA resolution files for the WM 6.0 SYS build first. I don't think there were any WM6.0 WVGA devices.
Got a load of phones that we issue to satellite engineers for work. We have a bit of software than rubs on the phones and the engineers use it to get customer information, allocate stock to the customer, activate the customers hardware and subscription services ect.
We have never been able to get it to work with WM6.1 or WM6.5
It gives some error about graphics or display or something along those lines.
We currently use the HTC Kaiser (TyTnII) which came with WM6.1 and we had to flash them all to WM6.0 for the software to work.
Without the software, all the staff are unable to work.
Also, is there a way that I can install certain software and configure settings on a windows mobile device, then make a backup of that device and flash it to all the other devices? Its just that having to flash 80+ devices to windows 6.0 and then install framework, then software, then setup messaging and GPRS settings and a few other dependencies can be time consuming (about 30mins per device). When this is done for 80+ devices, well....you get the idea...
Have you tried WVGA fix?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455974
With this you can change the screen to VGA which the program might work with.

Yes, you can do this with backup software like Spb Backup.. it backs up the phone's installed software and registry to a file which you can execute on another phone so that it is restored to the exact same way as on the original phone.
Or you can use something free called Sashimi.
Another thing is, if the ROM has User Customization built in, you can have the ROM look for a file called SDConfig.txt on your storage card, which contains a list of CAB/XML files on your SD card to execute automatically after a flash.

It will most definitely be the WVGA resolution that is stuffing the software up, all issues with software not running under windows 6.1 on the HD are caused by one of two issues:
1) Software dependencies, ie. Compact Framework version - I have never came across a software dependency issue that cant be fixed
2) WVGA vs VGA resolution, and in this case with it being a graphics issue you will definitely be able to get it running using the WVGA fix quoted by rovex.
All you need to do is install the WVGA fix, do a soft reset and use the program to change it to VGA mode before launching your application which wont work, i can all but guarantee this will fix the problem, of course the only issue is you will have to change the res before launching the app all the time.
I would also suggest you contact the manufacturers of the software (or if its in house contact your in house development department) and tell them to make it work in WVGA resolution, this should only be a minor change, after all they dont need to move all the controls around just ensure it loads even it dosnt use the whole screen.

I tried using that tool, but it still didnt work. Instead I just got a screen saying "We're Sorry" and something about cprog.exe has stopped working.
We have been told that it needs to be run on version 1.81.61.2 on the Kaiser, apparently this is the display or graphics version or whatever that is required for it to run, but im thinking this is the number that shows on the bottom right of the device when powered....
Anyway to find out exactly whats causing this error or any other work around?

I would suggest talking to the developer/manufacturer of the software your trying to get to work to see if they can modify it to work WVGA resolution. This would most likely be your easiest route, especially when all new devices will be on wm6.5 or later and not compatible with wm6.0

Yes, if the WVGA fix dosnt work then I can only assume that the software has been specifically designed to be locked to only work on the Kaiser phone, the only way you are going to fix this is to contact the manufacturer or employ a software engineer to reverse engineer the software and make it work on the HD, which could be costly and time consuming.
