I am always suspicious of htc diamond ROM that system missing some useful dll library. There is a application that works well in HTC P3600. and this application included a dll that be shelled by UPX tool. when the application is migrated to Diamond, it reported " is not a valid pocket pc application". but
it did not tell me why. i was annoyed by this question.
the same case , I have a streaming appication using ffmpeg. it works well in HTC P3600 as well. but it failed in Diamond and report the same error.Oh my god. Who can help me? I have a commerical application came across the same question and there is a wap library without source code. and Diamond
did not recognize it. Faint!!

I need to camera API of imate to develop some applications.
Does anyone know where to get it?
and any ways to import camera.dll?
thanks!!
Camera API
You're not the only one trying to get hold of the camera API for this device, I think there are quite a few of us that are trying. I sent an e-mail off today to HTC and to O2, to see if I could get a response.
I believe Microsoft are also now aware of this problem. The last I heard was that HTC have a problem with the camera API and that they had e-mailed a copy of this to someone back in May, but it didn't work.
I am hoping that they will e-mail me the latest stuff... we shall see... If I manage to get hold of it I will be posting it EVERYWHERE... Including on here and on my website:
www.ip-ms.co.uk
Let me know if you have any success!
you can disassemble camera.dll to determine IOCTLs that are used to communicate with it (a CAM1: device). Or decompile HTCCamera.dll, it exports some interesting functions like "Camera_GetPreviewImage".
You may try to contact www.iastyle.com, as far as I see they have developed camera application for Imate.
The other idea is to take .NET CF camera class and to try to use it in Imate. Or to download camera SDK from HP hoping that ti is compatible with imate. You may convert all references to SDIOCam.dll to HTCCamera.dll.
Look at http://www.bistia.com/en/prod-faq.html#cam
O2 ActiveSync, Development & deployment with VS2003
O2 have been of very little help. They do have an SDK from HTC however they are not allowed to release it as they are under an NDA.
I guess we will have to continue with the quest of hacking into the dll's and getting in that way.
On a slightly different note, can someone help me out with a deployment problem with my XDA 2.
I am running VS.Net 2003, with SQL Server CE 2.0 & SP3 and SQL Server 2000 SP3, Active sync 3.7.1 and PPC 2003 ROM verson 1.03.00 USA
The device connects to active sync but I can't deploy to the PDA in VS.Net It works in emulation. I can't just copy the cab files coz I need the SQL CE management tools to be deployed with the application as it is the first time of deploying a SQL CE app to the device.
I have tried removing proxyport reg file and re-placing it... I have uninstalled VS.Net, Active sync and everything else and re installed it. I have even done a complete new install on a totally clean pc following the MS guidlines on the order of installation. Still no joy!
What more can I do? I have also tried installing with IRdA as well... this didn't work either but i could still active sync with it.
Help is definately required on this one guys!
Many thanks
Sarah
Re: O2 ActiveSync, Development & deployment with VS2003
the only thing that you have not tried is upgrading your ROM. Try it, but backup it first.
Is there any VNC software avilable for the XDA Mini S? I would like to connect to my XDA Mini S from my PC to take screenshots and control it.
Thanks in advance

I have not tried this on the Wizard (currently waiting for one) but I have used SOTI Pocket Controller extensively on many PocketPCs over the years. I find it much better than the MS tool. Not free but not expensive.
www.soti.net
(I have no connection with SOTI)
I use the attached tool for quite a while now, on wm2003, 2003se and wm5 devices, it works great.
I got it somewhere overhere i believe, so the credits go someone else..
copy the 2577 folder to the root of your storage card,
then eject, and insert the card, the first time the device will
ask if you want to run autorun, and you do, so, accept it.
from now on every time you insert your storage card, it will make a
screenshot in that folder 2577, no matter what screen you are in or app.
you are running (for as far as i know then)
good luck with it !
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, in the end I manage to grab a copy of Pocket-Controller Professional
Hello
I am looking for Baniaczek's Pocket MSN which I installed in my Windows 6 Pocket PC and now I want to install it in my Tornado Windows 6 smart phone. I know I found it some where here on either Hermes or Tornado Forums. But I can't find it. Please help.
I don't like Live Messenger I just want Pocket MSN and the reason I want Baniaczek's is cause the other pocketmsn.cab files I found here for some reason install but don't work. and I get errors like Instmsgr can not be found. And even if I do find and run it I get the same error. Also it is not appearing in ADD/REMOVE programs. Only Baniaczek's version works fine in my pocket pc so now I need it for my Smart Phone

found it mate...
is this Baniaczek's pocket msn and will it work in my Tornado Smart phone?
I managed to install it. And now this version is added in the Remove programs. But Instant messenger has error "Can't find Instmsg" or one of it's components. The other options work. I guess pocket msn is only compatible with PPC and not smartphones.
Really newbie here - I've been reading all the forums for a week and still have problems.
Have an HTC tilt - Cingular/ATT - 8925.
So far, works good but - I was trying to use "bloover" / "btexplorer" / "sbth" and no luck. Install went good but trying to start them from Java, I get an error :
" The MIDlet could not be instantiated: java.lang.NoClassfFoundError "
I do know that this could be fixed, not sure how.
Any help, suggestions (never worked with java before, edit registry).
I also like to mention that after a week of studies and tries, "youtube" on HTC (at least on mine) does NOT WORK - tried everything - nothing works - won't play video. Error: "RealPlayer : Media file type not supported." And regardless a few threads - there is no "Video Sites" icon on "Programs".
Thanks and please don't redirect me to "JavaBible" - I couldn't understand it. All I need to know is if there is anything (and if yes - what - to make my programs run - maybe a different midlet manager).

See my lats comment: there's no way to run most? all? BT stuff on Windows Mobile. Sorry - if you need Bluetooth support, get a Symbian Smartphone.

??? Are you sure you've deployed the TCPMP plug-in? RealPlayer has nothing to do with YouTube.
And, do you mean Mobile YouTube or the regular one? For the former, you'll need HTC Streaming Media (but it may not work with you if your connection is NAT'ed); for the latter, the TCPMP plug-in.

But, in the MIDlet Bible (if you mean the one at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=The (Java) MIDlet Bible ) it's clearly explained you in NO WAY can mke Bluetooth work under the current KVM's.
youtube and bt
First off all, thank you for prompt response.
About BT- eg.-playing and listening music n/a on HTC Tilt but with 3rd party software (bt audio, bt music and so ) music streaming over bluetooth, skype enable and so works - could be a 3rd party to deploy midlets on java?!
Then youtube - I installed Tcmp, then flash player, go thru all the options, even made default player for all files. I was trying to acces youtube from ie - www.youtube.com -
and that's how I got the error. And why is realplayer I don't have a clue. Tried a few versions of tcmp, uninstall and flashed all the time.
It will be great if I could get some heads up or some new links for different players. I'm kind of sure I did it correctly (not once).
Thank you!
I have a vga device. axim x51v.
I downloaded the htc audio manager from the extracted OEM apps. it did not work on my axim. it gave an error message about missing components or certificates.
after much searching I found a cab that worked on my axim (this cab possibly had certain components or ran on all devices, not just HTC ones). But when I installed this audio manager it only took up 1/4 of the screen, like a qvga program. so I tried to use "forcehires" to make it fill up the screen. however "forcehires" gave a message saying that audio manager is already high resolution aware.
I am not using any vga hacks, btw. I am however running wm6, which is not the problem as the situation was the exact same in wm5.
Sooo, can someone with a vga device upload their audio manager. the specific files are as follows:
/windows/audiomanager.exe
/windows/audiomanager.exe.0409.mui
I would be so grateful somebody could upload them.
(bit of a long post, but I wanted to nail it down)
come on guys. it can't be that hard to upload a file or two.
I really like the simplicity of audio manager.
Hi legoman,
Also I've a axim x51v running WM6, but I have not had success to get work any HTC app. Where do you find this audio manager cab? Have you had success to get work HTC Home pluging? Thanks in adv.
--------
aneto
try this cab file. it runs but, only shows up on 1/4 of the screen.
hate to do this guys but;
BUMP.
can anyone post the above two files from their device. its a desperate plea.
